Welcome to Learania, the official canon continuity of Fire Emblem Forever! As you almost certainly already know, here in FEF you can choose to play the role of a Fire Emblem character of your choice, from any game. You may not know that we regularly RP as these characters in large-scale events and RP threads. But how, you ask, can these characters, from different countries on different continents in different worlds, all interact together? How can Valter sit and chat with Renault while Tibarn and Ayra play with their daughter? The answer lies here in Learania, the world of Fire Emblem Forever! We have created a continuity where characters from many different, yet similar worlds are drawn together and work for a common greater good. Well, hello there! I'm Ganon, one of Tibarn's original characters and Learania's resident reptilian bard! In this thread, I'll be your guide as we explore and explain this place into which all our most beloved characters have come, so let's get a move on! Top

This is the place. Big, right? I know. Nothing compared to what it used to be. Stories tell that this continent used to be one country, admittedly a really big one, that was part of an even larger continent, or two continents that were close to each other maybe, it's hard to say. Everything else is gone now, it's all just ocean. The continent of Learania is really huge-- trust me, I've been all over it. It ranges from sweltering desert to snow-capped mountains to vast forests to rolling plains, and there are some very nice beaches along the eastern coast, might I say. Countries
LearaniaLearania used to span the entirety of what is now the continent, but in the centuries since Learania had a king, the story goes, local rulers have solidified their power and warred over boundaries until smaller countries emerged. One of these countries is still called Learania: in the temperate southeast corner of the continent, the land has retained its name around the Learanian capital of Eyris.MordacheUp in the northwest is Mordache, a massive mountainous region. I traveled through there once, but was nearly killed by overzealous guards more times than I can count, so I don't like to go back. All the stories you hear about Mordache are horrific, but in my experience the people there are more or less your average Learanian. They are on the conservative side, mind, very religious, very haughty, but nice enough when they're not convinced you're a Gorgon. Did I mention the place is overrun by monsters? It's overrun by monsters. They reside in the swamps though, away from most villages and cities. The people mentioned a ruler, but they only called her the Baroness. They weren't, for the most part, willing to talk about her. We now know her as Baroness Charolais, and most of those horrific stories seem to center around her.AdlianaNorth of Learania are the Adliana Plains. People of this land are typically nomadic and hold to native ways. Within the plains, there are quite a few tribes, several of them significantly larger than the rest. The leaders of these tribes form a council that takes charge of dealing with the important issues of the plains as a whole. In the past, they have had some... problems with the people of Learania, causing some mistrust between the two countries. Well, okay, let me be specific: back in the day, Learanians used to keep nomads as slaves. This practice was ultimately abolished by King Leander before he died. However, relations have been slowly mended due to the dedication of the FEF crew, Rath in particular. Trade routes have opened up, and acceptance between the peoples is growing. As of now, Adliana and Learania are allied nations.EstarciaIn the center of the continent lies the heavily forested region of Estarcia. The people of this land are very, very rich. As a matter of fact, they're downright spoiled! Most of the leaders are terribly snobbish, and the attitude has spread like a disease onto the rest of the populace. Because of this, Estarcia has never had many ties with the other countries, and emigration is scarce. Still, they're not bad people, and the country is a beautiful and peaceful region to visit. As of now, Estarcia and Learania are also allied nations-- an alliance formed when Estarcia realized that it could not handle the growing threat of the increasingly militant Mordache on its own.SentriaIn the southwest lies the desert of Sentria. Though fairly tropical along the borders of Learania and Estarcia, it is a typical desert wasteland. Sentria used to have a royal family, but the story goes they were wiped out by a bandit invasion force, led by some mysterious prodigy wearing a mask. The stereotype is that people who reside in Sentria now are pretty much brigands and thieves. But hey, the place makes for a good home base, and with no major government there's no one to keep the bandits under control, so it's to be expected-- there are entire tribes and clans of bandits hiding out there. The commonfolk-- and there are commonfolk, lovely people living in cities of tightly clustered buildings near oases, they make this yogurt-based sauce from camel milk, it's incredible-- live in fear and are constantly raided for their goods. If they're lucky, when they pay the bandits off, they're left alone. There have been rumors circulating about a certain bandit group in particular: the group led by the infamous Serpent Fang, otherwise known as the Bandit King. He has basically self-proclaimed himself the new ruler of Sentria. AerisThough not a present country, it used to be one of the most flourishing ones. Nowadays, it's just a tropical island with thick jungles and ruins. What happened to the country, you might ask? Actually, I don't know. Communication with them just suddenly stopped, so messengers from other countries were sent to investigate. None of them returned. More expeditions were set up, but none of them returned, either. Only one person was said to have come back from that land. He died three days later, having barely given any information on his discoveries. His journal now resides in Estarcia Keep. Important Places:
EyrisGood old Eyris, capital of Learania since the old old old days when there was a king. Eyris is indisputably one of the oldest cities on the continent, and it's pretty clear it used to be a lot bigger. You can travel out a couple miles from where the city walls are now and see the ruins of old buildings, aqueducts, bridges, you name it. You can still see where the wall used to be hundreds of years ago. Make it a day trip.
Now, it's honestly not that big for a capital, only about five miles across. Nice old cobbles, but most of the buildings and walls have been rebuilt or fortified over the years, and the city is pretty lively considering how small it's gotten compared to what it was. Full of very friendly people, though, in my experience. Very open-minded. Didn't have much trouble accepting non-humans, certainly, which is refreshing. You get the sense that they see a lot of weird stuff there, which is true; Eyris seems to be a place where things happen.
The main feature of Eyris is, of course, the castle. Eyris Castle is a home fit for a king, with way too many floors, entirely too many stairs, too many and a half rooms, and more flying buttresses than you can shake a stick at. Seriously, your arm would get tired from shaking a stick at all those flying buttresses. Eyris used to be governed by Lord Eyris, until his murder. Learania itself used to be ruled by a steward, but rule of the country came under new management after people started arriving near Eyris from other worlds.
They apparently formed a guild to share the burden of adjusting to the new world. For some reason, they called themselves Fire Emblem Forever. They took an active hand in keeping Eyris and the whole country safe and well-kept, and ended up ousting the nasty self-proclaimed steward who'd taken up residence in the castle. For a while, they were the primary ruling body in Learania. Nice guys. You're probably part of 'em.
Recently, war erupted, and the collected forces of Mordache and Sentria fought their way all the way up to Eyris' doorstep. Obviously, we survived the siege, but the city took a lot of damage. During the war, Leander's heir was brought forth in a scheme to weaken the country, but the villain behind the plot was outed and now the new child king seeks to restore Learania to its former glory. Needless to say, Eyris is now in a state of restoration.Fefga ManorFefga's Mansion! A house of legend and lore, and the secondary base of Fire Emblem Forever. It's used largely as a guild house and gathering place, but it has served many purposes. It was a rebel base once. Bet you didn't know that, huh? Another story for another time, though.
There are a lot of rumors about Fefga Manor. Some say it's the source of all the evil in the world. They're probably wrong. It is known that the mansion was built to house the guardian spirit Fefga, who protected the royal family. Some members of FEF have said that they have seen Fefga, in fact. (I am soooo not jealous. >.>)
Some stories say that the mansion was made to house something else as well, possibly something Fefga was meant to guard. And then there's this Door in the basement...Other Significant Places:
MrdlpwtMrdlpwt is an ugly little bayou town on a swampy river just outside of Mordache, on the eastern side. I passed through there once, but the place is only notable because it's got a hilarious name. Also, that Rappahannock guy was born there.ArdisisArdisis is a busy trading town in the Adliana plains, where people from all over the continent travel to for goods, or pass through while on their trade route. It first started as a Learanian colony, but is now not owned by it, or anybody, though most people who actually live there consider themselves Learanians.Port BuheLocated in Mordache's huge gulf, this port is the biggest port on the continent. Many goods and ships come in and out of this port every day. With this port city, Mordache could technically be able to assert itself as ruler of the seas to the south, all the way around to Pentheus, if it wanted to.Brass MountainThe Mountain of Brass is perhaps one of Learania's most beautiful landmarks. Far up north, near the eastern end of the Eldir Range, Brass Mountain rises above its fellows on either side. It's not really made of brass, but it gets its name because at sunset, when you stand well away from it, the mountain takes on a glorious golden shine. Some spoilsports talk about reflected light and prisms and blah blah blah, I say the mountain is a sleeping god. Makes for better stories. But I guarantee you, it's one of the most beautiful sights in the world. The best view is to the west, halfway up the Eldir's tallest mountain, Mount Anska. In my opinion, anyway. I highly recommend it.PentheusThis city has gone through a lot of turmoil lately... it's the largest port in Learania, but it's also the closest city to Sentria's border, so it was Sentria's first attack and it fell quickly from the surprise. It was retaken, but reinforcing bandits forced Learania to retreat, so it got recaptured. It's a very important city also because it was the port where most of Learania's naval force was located. AltiplosAhh, this is a truly delightful city to visit, when in Estarcia. Not much snobbery to be found, here. I guess maybe because it's the biggest maker of armaments in the country? There are many forges to be found here, so I imagine the smoke doesn't really agree the high society. But hey, I liked it there-- a true appreciation for good music, and a lovely way to experience Estarcian culture without dealing with Estarcian prices. The man who runs the city is a commander in the army. I think his name was... Horatio?ArajudiaLearania's second largest port! We were able to keep this city from being captured for a while, but when Rogvald came into the picture, he ordered all commanders to return home. After that, Mordache took it over without us knowing. I wonder what it's fate will be...TharisI never really thought much about this village, but this is where the new King James was raised by Rogvald. Huh. Raised all these years right under our noses. Go figure.ArdiniaThis is the capital of Sentria. The beautiful architecture of the old Sentria can still be seen, but most of the old buildings are destroyed; it's pretty much a city of ruins. The castle is really the only thing from old Ardinia still in good condition. Its golden dome is simply inspiring. The Sentrians really did have nice architecture, maybe even more attractive than Learania's- but that's for you to decide. In any case, I haven't been into the city, and much as I'd like to go... I won't. Why? Because if I did, well... I'd have a lot of trouble telling you about Learanian history around the axe in my throat! See, this capital is where the Serpent Fang's group resides. Yes, I'm serious, his group is big enough to occupy an entire capital city. It really would be a great place to explore, but alas, I am left to merely admire it from a distance. ForgasseSpeaking of capitals, you may want to remember this one. Forgasse is the capital of Mordache. I tried going there once. It, uh... it didn't really work out. See, apparently, the Baroness doesn't want 'monsters' in her cities? Yeah, that's what they called me. I may have gotten away with going to other cities, but Forgasse has a major military presence and they are quite strict on the Baroness' laws, no exceptions. That place is locked up tight, from thick black walls to the largest gate I've ever come upon. They seem to have some sort of Gothic style to their architecture...ArchesisAaaand one last capital, I promise. Archesis is without a doubt the fanciest place I've ever traveled, which is to be expected, since it's the capital of Estarcia. It was truly a breathtaking walk down the street- while I ignored the sneering looks people gave me, of course. Gorgeous shrubbery and glistening white buildings everywhere you look. Unfortunately, it's also where the highest amount of snobbery exists. It is the highest place of society in the world and most people have no issue letting others know. Personally, I'd much rather take a trip to their countryside, but that's just me. Archesis is noteworthy for having a 'nearly non-existent crime rate', in their own words, but trust me-- they're only measuring the blue-collar stuff. You don't knock over a jewelry store in Archesis; it's considered rude. No, in Archesis you create your own jewelry store, take down your target with shady business tactics, acquire their goods, store, and employees at a negligible fraction of their value, and then quietly sequester your newly acquired stock away in your personal vault. The place is beautiful, but just be wary. Just because people are polite doesn't mean they're nice. The Black ScarThis is more of a solemn place to visit, but what it represents is a good thing. Back when Learania-- and, more specifically, the FEF guild-- fought with Loki and defeated him, the volcano in which he had made his lair erupted. Everyone got out safely, but the lava kept just pouring out. Rath rode Nino out into the fields and she used Leander's staff to cool the lava and prevent it from getting to Eyris. Some villages were still caught in the lava though, and not everybody was able to make it out in time. I've walked upon the surface and seen the remains of these villages. It's a very humbling experience. Still, the scar represents what we had thought to be Loki's defeat. It has since been labeled The Black Scar of Learania.Neros' TowerNeros' Tower... Not the most pleasant memory I've ever had. Basically, this is the site where the sorceress Razevi was brought back. The tower's kind of in half now, but take it from me, it was pretty amazing looking!1. Introduction 2. Map/Geography 3. History 4. Heroes 5. Villains 6. Events 7. The Door 8. Reserved 9. Did you know bards don't just play pretty music? It's true, we do a lot of that, but we are also expert storytellers and chroniclers of history, or at least the more interesting bits. Plus, I've got inside info from the people who make this stuff up, so that helps. Let's see if I can break it down by the centuries. 900-1000 years agoSomewhere between nine hundred and a thousand years ago, the continent was much larger, with many countries. Stories say that after many wars, Learania had become the largest country, but wars continued to rage between kings, catching millions of innocents in the crossfire and solving nothing. At that time, the King of Learania was Leander, who ruled fairly alongside his wife, Nadalia. Stories say that Leander, unlike his predecessors who had taken control of so much of the continent, abhorred war and never sent his armies to attack a foreign power.
I've been able to confirm what happened next by talking to Nino, the leader of Fire Emblem Forever, along with some Eyris scholars. During Leander's recent resurrection, he apparently told her enough to confirm the story that Leander prayed to the gods to reveal to him a way to end all war. His prayers were answered by a disguised Dark God, who offered Leander the power to end the wars between the many nations. The Dark God told him that the power he received would make him the king of the entire continent, and that as king he could bring about peace.
Leander's spell summoned up a mighty storm that covered the world and froze the oceans. The land broke open and poured out molten fire that melted the seas once again and poured over the other countries. The water rose up as earthquakes sank them one by one, until every country except Learania had been sunk underwater. Mortified, Leander fled and disappeared while Learania fell into a three-year winter.700-800 years agoAfter Nadalia died, there was no royal family of Learania, and for about a hundred years, local rulers throughout Learania kept their own regions under control. Slowly, these local rulers warred with nearby rulers and expanded their territories, until about 700 years ago, the countries we know today-- Learania, Mordache, Sentria, Estarcia, and Adliana-- were officially formed.400-500 years agoStories get a little weird in here. They tell that a group of warriors-- one from Mordache, and others from other worlds-- arose in Eyris. These heroes are renowned for their power, and stories tell that they could bring down entire armies that rose up against them. Armed with weapons blessed by gods, these eight heroes declared that their purpose was to battle a mighty dark god.
Stories tell that their search for their enemy led them to the plains of Adliana, where they defeated the dark god's army and slew the Dark God, then inexplicably split up and went their separate ways, never heard from again.
And as far as anyone knows, that story is true. ... Right?PresentThen, about five or six years ago, Fire Emblem Forever began to form in Eyris. People seem to be arriving from other worlds... and something tells me things are gonna start happening.1. Introduction 2. Map/Geography 3. History4. Heroes 5. Villains 6. Events 7. The Door 8. Learania has its share of unique and fantastic characters, let me tell you. I've probably met about all of them. It also has its share of heroic figures who shape the history and present. NinoThe most adorable green-haired sage you will ever see. Yep, way more adorable than Lugh, and I mean that. Nino is the leader of Fire Emblem Forever, which is without a doubt the most heroic organization in Learania. I mean, you guys ARE the heroes, heroism is your thing. Being heroes is what you do. You are the people I will be singing songs about a hundred years from now. Aside from her power as the leader of FEF, Nino is a masterful Sage in her own right, and a serious force to be reckoned with on any battlefield. She was gone for a while, and people went from thinking she was sick to thinking she was dead. But, she came back and revealed the truth; that she had returned to Elibe. Shocking news, but really, she came back... and who could stay mad at her? She's still the leader of the guild and now works closely with the new King of Learania.RathNino's second in command is a Nomad from Elibe whose skill with a bow is unparalleled. Rath is a soft-spoken, but vehemently opinionated man. His vehement opinion is that your windpipe should soon be crossed with an arrow. Not to say he doesn't have a softer side, but he's a very severe person. After Halloween 08, it seems he suddenly left the country and was gone for nearly a year. Who does that? Well, he must have had his reasons. There's no way for me to know what he did while he traveled, in any case. For a while, he acted as ruler of the country, while Nino was apparently "sick". Turns out that was a big lie, Nino was gone. Rath was then accused of murdering her and imprisoned, and later was sentenced to death. However, to everyone's surprise, Nino returned during the interrupted execution and revealed that she ordered Rath to lie for her, and that she had gone back to Elibe. Rath is now back as Vice Captain of the guild and is out and about, getting our enemies the hell out of our country.Leander, King of LearaniaLeander is perhaps the greatest Sage who has ever lived-- though some stories tell that his wife, the wise Nadalia, could best him in a fair match. He was a beneficent and fair ruler, but a lust for power-- even the power to end war-- is the downfall of many a man. The most tragic of Learania's many heroes, Leander froze himself so that his power could no longer cause harm when his spell brought about near-apocalypse. Recently, he was accidentally revived and used as a puppet to nearly destroy FEF. The discovery of how much time had passed broke the Dark God's spell over him, and he defected to join FEF. Unfortunately, very shortly thereafter, the Dark God took back the power he had given Leander, and without the God's power his body succumbed instantaneously to the ravages of time. Left behind, now in the possession of FEF, was one of the most powerful weapons ever created: Sophos, his staff. The magic contained in that staff is so great that it can cast any Anima, Light, or Staff spell, in addition to Leander's signature spell, Grösserfimbulvetr.
It is also said that Leander was, in his time, a brilliant inventor and innovator who is responsible for many of the conveniences that makes life in Eyris more comfortable-- hot running water and ice boxes are said to be among the products of his genius.FefgaFefga is very.... well, I don't know how to describe her. Like I noted earlier, I've never met her. (I'm still not jealous >_>) But, from what I've heard from those who have, she seems to be a cheery little girl of a spirit. Her power has been displayed a few times publicly, and I hear it was impressive. To my understanding, she defended the manor against Mika, but was barely defeated by powerful magic that Mika was using from Loki. From there, her presence completely vanished, up until you guys faced Loki. Upon questioning Nino, she said that Fefga gave the last of her powers to her and then departed from our world. However, it turns out that she was merely 'imprisoned' and was sleeping. Once Loki was defeated, she started to slowly regain her power. When Rogvald took over Learania, and a resistance started to form, Fefga returned and placed the barrier back over her mansion so that he could not do them harm. I heard-- firsthand account, actually-- that when the Great Eyris Siege began, she left her mansion and went to Eyris castle. She combined her power with Lord Zeon and kept the Serpent Fang out as long as she could. Once her power was again depleted, she departed and once again went to sleep. I imagine she'll be back again, before long. TibarnThe King of the Hawks, as it turns out! Well, he's not a king anymore, but the laguz of the country hold him in high regard. That's probably why he was brought on as a crew member of the guild. While on the crew, he married Lady Ayra and they had a child. He left the crew for a while and helped the resistance deal with Rogvald and then rejoined once Nino returned. He led a group of bird laguz during the siege and I hear he's going to keep leading it during the war. On a sadder note, it seems that he and his wife have separated. Nevertheless, from what I've seen, he is even fiercer than Rath in battle, and in my opinion, one of Learania's greatest assets. IsadoraAh, Dame Knight Isadora... one of Learania's best beauties. She is just, fair, strong, loyal... just to name a few of her traits. The people simply love her and she has good relations with Estarcia as well. While Rath was acting captain of the guild, Isadora was acting vice captain. And when Rath was imprisoned, Isadora became the new acting captain. Because of Rogvald, she was put into an unbearable situation. She knew what he was doing was wrong, but she couldn't do anything about it, because if she did, the guild would have been shut down. I can only imagine how hard it must have been. But, because of her, the guild remains strong! AmeliaThis girl has come a long way, I am quite impressed. I remember when I first saw her, she was this scrawny little thing clanking around in a chestplate twice her size, bless her heart! She joined the city Watch and since then has gotten a lot stronger. It is through her service, and popularity amongst the people, that the crew took notice of her and took her on. She now oversees the actions of all the city Watches and plays a level-headed voice amongst the crew. She's a pretty good fighter too, such an impenetrable wall that even the Serpent Fang had a hard time with her. When you look at the stern faces of Rath and Tibarn, seeing a kind face like Amelia's is greatly relieving.Chieftain SonghuaI have yet to meet him personally, but he seems to be somewhat well known in Learania. They say that Songhua is one of the tribal kings in the plains of Adliana, who lead their tribes as best they can as they travel around from place to place. They refer to him as a hearty man who enjoys a good laugh. It seems that among the chieftains, he is the most influential in bringing about friendly terms with Learania. It also turns out that he was selected by the elders to lead the gathered tribes into battle, during the siege. Cyric Adair, King of EstarciaDefinitely a famous person, Cyric is. He's a favorite among both the nobles and the commonfolk of Estarcia. Best yet, I hear he's not a snob! He served that old man King Chanticlier for a long time as head of Estarcia's army and is by far the most capable man in the country, if you ask me. When Chanticlier died, Cyric was immediately put in place as the new king. Good choice, I say! Especially since it was by his decision that Estarcia began helping us in the war... it kind of saved our butts. Brave, strong, loyal and from what I hear, quite the looker! What better a king can you get?James Medici, King of LearaniaI can't help but have mixed feelings about this kid. It's been proven that he is, in fact, Leander's heir, so he has full right to the throne. But... he was raised by that Rogvald guy. Who knows how much that crazy man poisoned that kid's mind. The beginning of his rule hasn't been the best. On the good side, it seems that with Rogvald gone, he's actually trying to do true good for the country. I saw him more as a spoiled child, but it definitely seems like he's starting to change. I guess only time will tell if he's able to fill Leander's shoes. I mean, let's be fair, he's like eleven. He deserves some time to grow up, and it looks like he might have some of those natural leadership qualities Leander had. I guess running countries is in his blood? Hah, that's a little one...Lord ZeonA very famous hero of Learania, this one. He was once known as the Sage General of Learania, while in the army. He eventually retired and took up his place as head of his house and as the head noble of all Learanian houses. During his time, his house has produced some nice additions to the magical arsenal, like fear staves, barrier magic and earth tomes, to name a few. When you see him, you'll probably be a little intimidated, because he's pretty close to my size, though not quite. Still pretty big for a human, though. And that glaring look he always has isn't exactly welcoming. But, he's proven helpful. His barrier magic kept back our enemies for a while during the siege, buying our allies to some time to get here. When the Serpent Fang broke into the castle, he defended the new king until he was defeated and might have died if Nino hadn't saved him. He may be old, but he's still pretty tough. He's now King James' advisor, in replace of Rogvald, which is a VERY good thing. He's also been around here WAY longer than I have, by like a hundred and ninety years. I don't know exactly how much of the continent he's seen personally, but he's certainly... uh, well, at least willing to answer questions from the curious. Just keep in mind that no matter what your sappy gradeschool teachers told you, there is such a thing as a stupid question.CorneliusHe's also pretty famous. Like Cyric, he's well liked by all. While Chanticlier was king, he served as his right hand, acting as somewhat of an advisor and a body guard. That's kind of ironic, really, since it was Cornelius that apparently killed the old king. Can't say I blame him, though. That king was corrupt. I think it was Actually Cornelius that proposed Cyric as the new king, too. But anyway, Cornelius is now the top ranking general of the Estarcian army and Cyric's right hand man. Also, on a more hush hush note, I hear there may be something going on with him and our Lady Isadora...Priestess GwynieraThere's something about her very name that makes me be in awe of her. People all around the world know of her. She is the high priestess of Estarcia, whose main deity is Paggy. Through the ages, the high priestess of Estarcia has been given one task; to carry with her, the Fire Emblem. Only the high priestess can use its power. It hadn't been used in a long time, but we all its power first hand, when Gwyniera used it to send the Archanean Legion back home to their world. That's a pretty amazing power! Gwyniera herself seems wise and proper. Aside from that, I don't really know much about her personally, but she certainly is amazing.CatarinaCatarina is Priestess Gwyniera's guardian who seems to take her duty very seriously. During the siege, she lead a brigade of pegasi into battle against Mordache's flying monsters and probably saved the lives of a many in Learania's own wyvern brigade. Between you and me, before she went back to her homeland, I saw the way she looked at King Cyric. Maybe there's something going on between them?1. Introduction 2. Map/Geography 3. History 4. Of course, for every hero there are five or more villains. FEF has a whole ton of unlisted heroes, though-- that is to say, everyone in FEF seems to fit the bill to some degree-- so we tend to have a few really, really powerful villains instead. I've tried to list them in order of appearance. MadrianaMadriana was a Necromancer who attacked Eyris during Halloween '08. She came out of nowhere, I heard, with incredible amounts of power backing her up from some unknown source. She just hit the castle like a tidal wave and captured the entire crew before anyone knew what was going on! I heard she was supposedly Nergal's apprentice, and she created a bunch of unique, powerful morphs to act as her lieutenants. These morphs, unlike the ones in the stories from Elibe, were capable of emotion and free will, which in the end caused mass dissension in her ranks and led to Madriana's destruction. She died beyond The Door, at the hands of her grandmother-- I wish I could explain more, but nobody seems to want to talk about that day... Anyway her sister, Nergal's blood daughter Mika, disappeared with Synra, Madriana's only remaining morph.Siegell MersetagSiegell is an enigmatic, frustrating figure who has appeared in almost every event. I heard from Ashnard he was originally from Daein, but Siegell has kept his past largely secret from FEFers. According to the Mad King, he is a Wyvern Lord who was once called the White Wolf of Daein. His mount, Shastah, is very large, even by wyvern standards, and is adorned with silvery-white scales, really beautiful to be honest. Sources who, er... wish not to be named tell me he is extremely handsome, but he wears a white porcelain mask that covers the left half of his face. Few have seen under his mask, but the ones I talked to say he sports some nasty scars. He first appeared in Learania during Halloween '08, when he sided with Madriana, but he's a mercenary, so he fled when things started to go south for the morph army. He's also assisted FEF more than once, but never seemed to do it without wreaking havoc at the same time. Recent sources say he's leading a small, but powerful team of mercenaries who work directly for Charolais. One of his jobs was to frame Learania for the slaughter of Adlian tribes, and ultimately failed, though he certainly weakened Adliana. He led the tamed bat lizards during the siege, but fell back once Estarcia arrived. He always takes his leave when things start to go bad. I'm not sure what his next task will be, but I'm sure it won't be anything good...Granny N.Granny N. is an incredibly mysterious figure about which very little is known. She's apparently Mika's and Madriana's grandmother, and therefore Nergal's mother. This also makes her... I think Ninian and Nils' grandmother. And Roy's great-grandmother. She orchestrated the events of Halloween '08 from behind The Door, and she killed Madriana with her own hands after her granddaughter was defeated by FEF. Gruesome, huh? FEF managed to kill her, though.
... Right?
Wrong. Granny N, also known as Margarette, survived when the Dark God placed her soul in a doll. As his personal adjutant, she was given a certain task to complete before he would give her a new body-- which he did, at the third Guildaversary. She's back in action...Loki, Dark God of Chaos, Lord of Broken ThingsWhoooa, whoa. This guy has been bad news from the start. He didn't actually appear to FEF until late during Christmas '08, when he showed himself to Rhys and Amelia in a dream. But he's been behind everything bad that's happened up until at least the guild anniversary in '09! He has nearly limitless power, and has used it to create many of the enemies we've been forced to face; he's also responsible for fooling Leander a thousand years ago!
FEF managed to track him to his shrine and defeated him, and for a while we all thought he was gone, but apparently he's still very much involved in current events.Asami MeiuqerCan't tell you much about this one. She showed up around Easter '09 and started making people evil! Apparently, she herself was Melethia's dark side. Creepy-looking reptile, not awesome like me. In the end, Melethia killed her.RappahannockAck, where do I start? This guy was NUTS. He looked like he bathed in blood with his clothes on! He killed people... it's like it wasn't just fun for him, like with some guys, it was just... what he did! He was horrifying, all scarfaced... his entire body was like one giant hunk of scar tissue. Nasty little assassin, he worked with Asami, I think. He killed a lot of people in Eyris... and then he took their bodies and made a huge dreamcatcher out of it. It was sick. Sick, sick, sick. Don't worry about him, though-- he committed suicide when I was about to beat him.Baroness CharolaisCharolais! She's Loki's favorite mortal servant, and sorta like his high priest. I really don't know much about her, except she's... very promiscuous, and she's been on the throne for a long, LONG time. There's also a lot of foul stories circulating about her even within her own country! As the leader of Mordache, she's the one who ultimately moved to start this war, after convincing the Serpent Fang to join forces. MikaI know, I know. What's Mika doing here? She was a good guy, right? Well, not after Loki got his claws on her. He twisted her all around, made her think we killed her sister, got her all confused! She led the attack against us during the third Guildaversary. Poor thing never really learned the truth. She went kind of crazy toward the end, and Rhys ended up killing her with Antaram.Pietro de JanusThis guy's a mystery, seriously. His eyes are... creepy... They're always closed, and he wears this sneaky grin all the time. And he talks like he's always on a stage. I mean, yeah, I do that, but only when I'm actually onstage! Apparently, this guy works for Charolais, and he's pretty nasty. According to Rath, he fights like an assassin, but he acts more like a... a jester. His nickname is the Masked Phantom.Sorceress RazeviOne of Loki's old friends? Hard to say. She's an obscenely powerful sorceress from hundreds of years ago, who apparently opposed Loki. Some say her battle with Loki is what reduced Sentria to a wasteland, in fact. Up until recently, Loki had sealed her inside a mask, but after Vika stole it from his shrine, Razevi used the poor raven to collect everything she needed to restore her body! Now she's wreaking havoc across the continent, apparently intent on exacting her revenge on Loki. I just don't know if that's good for us, or not...Drake, Bandit King of SentriaI really don't like this guy. He represents all that is wrong with people. Truly. He's not really a king at all, he just proclaimed himself the ruler of Sentria, after securing the boss spot of the largest bandit group. I guess it's good that he keeps all the other groups somewhat in control, but the things he stands for... I can't tell you how sad it is to see how ordinary people in that land have to live because of the standard he sets! Another more common nickname is the Serpent fang, which is said to be a comment on how he fights. By what I've seen... I can see why. He's ridiculously skilled with his broadsword and has been a plague on the battlefield since the start of the war. Nobody that has gone up against him has been able to beat him, we were barely able to make him fall back those two times. He's still out there and I can guarantee you, it will not be an easy fight against him! EpimetheusThe Baroness' 'Red Knight'. The general impression about him in Mordache seems to be that he's fairly easy-going, unlike most other leaders who tend to be rather serious. I've heard he goes crazy in battle with his axe, loving the thrill of it. Well, I guess there had to be some reason as to why he would be so highly ranked.MendeleeveWhile Epimetheus is the 'Red Knight', Mendeleeve is the 'Green Knight', and these two are also apparently brothers. Unlike his brother, Mendeleeve fits the pattern of other commanders as being very serious, but takes it to a fault. His mind is always on task and he is also a fair strategist I hear, though this trait did not give him victory while leading the siege on Eyris. As far as I know, he retains his rank, but a big loss like that has got to hurt the pride. I hear he and his brother snatched up Deborah. Rath seems pretty sore about 'em.VernThis man is... er, that is, I think he's a man... Anyway, I don't really know this Vern, except that he is very, very close to the Baroness and is very highly ranked. Reports say that he was seen horseback at Fefga Manor during the siege, wielding an extravagant looking stave. I'm afraid that's all I can say at this point. Funky hairdo.1. Introduction 2. This is a weird one. The Door is a... well, it's a door. Made of wood, all rectangular, with, you know, a knob and a lock. It's in the basement at Fefga's mansion and seems to be the source of a lot of our trouble. From a distance, it seems pretty ordinary, but apparently if you get right up close to it, it has this unbelievably detailed ornate carving all over its surface. I personally don't like to go anywhere near it, so I couldn't tell you myself.
Stories say the Door has been there longer than the mansion, and that it's some sort of portal to other worlds. Some stories say it leads everywhere. Others say it leads nowhere. Some say it simply leads to the path of madness. I personally get the sense that all the stories are true. In truth, nobody seems to know what the Door is, what it's for, who made it, where it comes from, or how to use it. There used to be special keys you could use to open it and go wherever you wanted, but they're all gone now.
I do know that Loki, the ancient Learanian God of Chaos, likes to play with it, and he can open it to and from anywhere. I heard Tibarn once tried to barricade it shut with some furniture, and when someone went down to the basement for a hammer later on there was nothing left of the furniture but a couple of wood chips. The door itself doesn't seem to be evil or anything. It's just immensely powerful.
Anyway, since nobody knows enough about the Door itself, I suppose I should take this opportunity to make some notes about how people arrive in Learania. We're not certain what it is that causes this, but apparently all of the worlds we come from have secret doors in them. They almost seem to wait for us-- they're normal doors, might even be your bedroom door-- to go through them. And when we go through them, one day we suddenly wind up in Learania.
And where we end up doesn't always make sense. Sometimes you go into a bedroom door in Jugdral and show up in a bedroom in Learania. Sometimes you go into a bedroom door in Jugdral and show up waist-deep in freezing water in a pond outside Eyris. We've had someone go through a door and come out twenty feet in the air! Don't worry, she has wings.
But you don't get to choose when you come to Learania. It happens to a lot of people when they're running from something-- be it assassins or just the weight of responsibility. And as far as we can tell, you never get to leave. Nobody's gone back to Elibe from Learania. There's a theory you could do it with a key to The Door, but... well. There aren't any.
Don't worry, though. People usually show up right around Eyris, so when you do come through, someone from FEF will probably spot you quickly enough and recognize the totally bewildered look on your face.1.
