Melethia was currently in the dining room. She was waiting for a certain blond sniper to get here. Arashe for the most part was a bit pissed of at the dragoness for being in battle in just her bra and underwear. Sure she will admit it wasn't one of her better ideas, but she didn't think it was his place to tell her how she should act. She is much older than the sniper and knew how things went, but she went along with the sniper's idea to have a little lesson on how to be a proper noble. She was only doing it though she make him shut up.

Really, this seemed like little more than a waste of time. Arashe not only despised the Salamandress, she didn't seem like a particularly bright bulb. But, as the 'noble' she claimed to be, Arashe felt it necessary to at least try to make her act like it. But, he was getting ahead of himself. Maybe she'd take his criticism with an open mind. Should she not, the likely outcome, he could always use mean words and a dagger. Aggressive negotiations be damned, he refused to let Melethia sully the title of 'nobility' with her antics.

As he found the door to the castle's dining room, he quickly opened it, expecting the woman to not even be there. But, she was. So, he had to grin and bear it, and actually interact with her, as much as he abhorred her existence. Putting on a fake smile, he addressed her, using utmost caution to not let the word 'prostitute' slip.

"Well, well! Melethia Dagon! It appears that you decided to make your appointment! And even better, you're clothed! Fantastic. I'd give you a cookie, but you may end up spitting it up or something.

"Ha, ha" She said, "Very funny Arashe." She said. She glared at him. "I'll admit what a did a little while ago wasn't the BEST idea in the world. But you have no right to insult a woman. I know that isn't how a noble should act."

"Ah, the Salamandress has quite the mouth on her, it seems!" He strolled into the room, sitting on the part of the table farthest from the woman. As he was comfortably sitting on the table, he shot Melethia a dirty glance, a look that just screamed 'try that again and you'll be eating an arrow' or something vaguely similar. While it did ease Arashe's mind that she knew that her actions were wrong, it then came back around and made him despise her all the more. If one sees a bad idea of theirs, why not try to fix it?

"You know how a noble acts... but still chose to crusade around in a swimsuit!" His voice was still relatively calm, just a slight bit louder. The sun shone through the windows, fully lighting the room, allowing all gestures to go seen. "You say you know how to act, but you do things that put you on the level as a simple prostitute!" He let out a laugh, moving the hair from his face as he glanced over at her. "It hardly seems that you're in any place to lecture me as to how a noble should act, what with your switching between whore and dame as often as a cloud passes the sky."

"Are we going to be civilized here or are we going to take stabs at each other, Sniper?"She asked just a slightly bit pissed off. "Because I'm all prepared to show you how a noble acts." She glared at him. The glared just seemed to say 'try that and you won't have a pretty face anymore'.

"I don't see how we're being barbaric. I mean, we're not sleeping with the enemy, or attacking our allies, or screaming, are we?" He shot her a smug grin, showing that he could easily keep this up for hours. It wasn't particularly difficult, after all. He turned his back to her, covering his mouth to hide any hint of the faint laughter he was making. Also, he was confident that the woman wouldn't choose to attack him, especially without any real provocation.

Once his composure was regained, he turned around, a new calm, reserved kindness in his voice. "Yes. As a noble from whichever kingdom you hail from, I'm sure that you were raised to act just like this: mood swings, anger issues, and overall irrational behavior. The pinnacle of elegance, I must admit." If she thought that he was being serious, then she would be far worse than a lost cause; she'd be an idiot.

Arashe hit a sensitive spot of Melethia's a few time with what he said. He insulted Shento, her home, and her father. She wasn't sure if she should throw something at Arashe or start crying. Truth be told she didn't have a tome on her. She was hoping it wasn't going to get violent. She sat down and hid her face a bit. Her right hand made it's way to a fork. She was still thinking about what she should do.
PostPosted: Tue Jul 21, 2009 8:24 pm

"Ah, I've stunned you to silence! I didn't think it was even possible." Yes, Arashe felt bad for it, but it had to be said. The truth can hurt, after all. And it can only do repairable damages, at that. Well, until he saw her go for the fork, of all things.

"...a fork. Really, now? A simple insult has put you that far into the hole? Inconceivable." He definitely felt bad at this point, what with the likely chance of her eating, burning, or throwing the fork. Not so much as feeling bad for what he said, though, as much as it was pity. "...So, what depressingly abysmal story is behind this depression? Lover's lament? The path not chosen? Or maybe just another mood swing?"

Melethia lifted her head up, she was showing the tears that were in her eyes. She loosened the grip on the fork in her hand. She wasn't about to hurt him. Not unless he got to close to her. She glared at Arashe, hoping he would just shut up. She still though said nothing.

Arashe stood there, silently watching the woman. He knew she was never one for rationality, so she could try to rear up and attack at any time. But, she was crying. Really, not surprising at all, considering the verbal thrashing he was giving her. As he saw her hand slowly relinquish the fork, he smirked.

"What, you're not going to say anything about it? You're going to just..." He turned around, taking a few steps away from her. As he turned back, he was glaring. "...sit there and cry?" It was a deplorable situation, really. The normally fiery woman was bawling like a baby, and trying to shrug it off like nothing. Obviously, the issue wasn't something to just be shoved away, or else it wouldn't be an issue anymore.

Just as he was about to say something else, a bird slammed into the window. Arashe let out a horrified gasp, closing the blinds to prevent his curious eyes from watching it twitch or anything like that. All of a sudden, as if the bird were his nerves, he walked over to the door, sparing the woman little more than a passing glance. However, once he reached the door, he only stood there.

"...Salamandress, you've a mere two minutes. Should I not hear anything from you but pitiful sobs, I will take my leave." He chuckled, a finger stroking the hair from his face. "I've places to be, after all, and I'm sure that many a woman would be a better conversation than you."

"Quit calling me Salamandress." She said through a sob, "Because where I'm from, you would be killed for calling me that. Where I'm from dragons are respected. If you are trying to help me, well it's a pathetic job of doing so. So how about you don't say anything until I calm down." She glared at him harder. If looks could kill, Arashe would be a pile of ashes right now. She did her best to calm down. She wiped her eyes of her tears. All she wanted was for Arashe to shut up until she calmed down. She sighed a little bit.

"Now that I'm better. How about we try NOT to hurt each others feelings. Because I didn't come here to make you feel sorry for yourself." Her glare was alot less intence now.

"Salamandress, it's a term of endearment." He laughed, watching that bird from earlier regain its flight, the shadow on the blinds swerving about as the injury was shook off. "Endearment is a good thing, if you didn't know. But, it looks like you just got through another mood swing, unless you were faking the tears." Her attitude seemed to have taken a mean turn, so Arashe did the same. Can't be cowering in the opponent's face, can he?

The man turned around, to humor the woman by, at the very least, facing her while he spoke. "...really, I don't give a damn where you come from. There are no ties to the worlds of the past, so stop going on about yours."

Arashe smiled, slowly bouncing from point to point of her statements. "Oh, but insults are so much fun, what with how easy it is to tear you apart. And you thought I felt sorry for myself, you say?" The smirk was nearly devilish, the man looking to burst into a cackle at any moment. "If I felt sorry for myself, then why would you be the one crying like a babe?"

Melethia sighed, "This is getting me nowhere. What can I do to get SOMEWHERE with this?" She closed her eyes and thought. She was trying to get some control of this situation. Somehow...someway.

"You want to get somewhere with this, Salamandress?" Arashe's gaze sharpened, his glare akin to the stiletto blade attached to his belt. "Why don't we 'get somewhere' then?" He let out a scoff, hardly giving her the attention of even his peripheral vision. "And no, I don't mean in bed. That's revolting."

He pointed a finger at the woman, though he'd likely use the term 'girl' with this one, but her 'age' demanded a slightly more accurate word. "You, dear... you are inconceivably unbearable." Arashe let out a disgusted groan, as if a bucket of waste from the hovels of those in poverty was just dumped on his head. "Your mannerisms are deplorable. Crying at the drop of a hat, acting as though your actions are above others, especially when the circumstances warrant nothing of the sort..." Arashe dismissively waved his hand, as though the issue was no big deal. "...how can you even stand to exist with the way you conduct yourself? I don't know who the bloody hell you think you are, but you won't gain friendship, or even feelings of being allies with that attitude."

The decision was hers. If she decided to say something past a complaint, or at least something positive, he would indulge her, at the sake of his nerves, for better or worse. However, should she choose to mope in her own self-constructed misery, he would take his leave, and likely try to end her pitiful suffering once and for all should she approach him again. A man of nobility, of his caliber, nonetheless, had no reason to be spending time picking the brain of such an impossibly irritating creature as she was. Maybe it was his kindness, sense of faith in people as a whole? ...maybe he was just bored. He'd have to discuss it with Victoria later that day, since she was good at figuring out things like that. Either way, he was expecting to make it out of this appointment early. Maybe he'd go examine some of the other ladies, look for prospective archers, or maybe some that wished to... get in touch with their refined sides. No matter what he'd spend the rest of the day doing, he'd surely be able to line his wallet with enough gold to repair the Ichival, so he was hardly complaining.
