Learania. A pleasant country of an unnamed continent, whose people are both merry and neighborly. Though at one time it spanned the entire continent, its splendor has not declined, for the hearts of the people remain strong. Even after a fair number of tragedies have befallen the people, they always come back firm. The climax of these events was during the third anniversary of the Fire Emblem Forever Guild. A dark god put his plans into motion and manipulated an innocent girl to get what he needed. He then was able to revive and control the legendary heroes of old. But the members of the guild, along with other friends, rose up and battled against the dark god and his minions. In the end, it is believed that he was defeated and that his spirit departed. The aftermath left a black molten scar upon the land before the mountains. Several months have passed since that time, and all has returned to its proper order. Even in the smaller villages away from Eyris, lives have returned to normal, and the common folk go about their business. In one lakeside village in particular... live some familiar faces.

An ax came hurling down upon a block of wood, splitting it down the center, leaving two pieces to fall to their designated sides, on the ground. The boy holding the ax straightened his posture, and wiped his brow. However, it was a fairly hot summer day, and it wasn't long before more sweat developed that dripped down his face, and onto his bare chest.

The boy smiled brightly and gave a big sigh of relief, as he released the firmly planted ax, and proceeded to pick up the pieces of wood. With wood in hand, he walked over to the nearby house and stacked the wood pieces with the rest that were already there. When he had accomplished his task, he turned around and started walking over to the door of the house, but stopped and gazed upward. Thy sky was a bright blue, occupied by a fair amount of giant white balls, that moved gracefully across it. For some it would be just a simple sky, but the boy kept looking, for indeed it was beautiful. Everything in life, at the moment, was beautiful.

Life was absolutely wonderful for the female tactician. She had a beautiful, young daughter, one that was growing up way too fast for her tastes. She also had a twin brother, though he lived elsewhere.

And then... she also had him. A small smile came to her face as she rummaged around the small kitchen of the house, trying to remember where she put the blackberry jam for Amara's sandwich. She appreciated him, really; it was hard raising a kid, especially if you have to do so alone. It was even harder when you didn't even know how to properly raise a child. In truth, things were not easy for her. But things were so much easier with his help. There was less stress and more time to focus on what was important; raising Amara to be a happy and healthy young girl.

It's nice to have him around, too. Her gaze focused out the window and up at the sky as she spread some peanut butter and blackberry jam on the slices of bread. "Nice" hardly described her feelings about that; she worried for his safety whenever he was gone. It's justified, though... She thought, shaking her head slowly. He's hurt himself before.

"Mommy! Mommy!"

Alihi blinked, looking down at the little girl tugging at her pant leg. Smiling slightly, she handed Amara the sandwich and a napkin. The last thing the tactician wanted to do was attempt at washing out a purple stain from a pink dress. "Yes, sweetie?"

Amara squealed happily, taking a huge bite out of the sandwich. After chewing, swallowing, and nearly having a blob of jam stain her dress, she spoke. "He's just standing out there."
The tactician held back a laugh as she gently patted the child on the head. "Tell him to come in, will you? And ask him what kind of sandwich he wants!"

Amara immediately ran to the door and opened it quickly, not even bothering to give Alihi a proper response. "Mmmph-mmph!" She waved frantically to Abel, trying to grab his attention. Her sandwich hanged out of her mouth as she grinned happily at him.

As it was, Amara's cute level was over 9000, and easily broke Abel from his trance. He looked over to her, as a tiny bit of jam dripped from the sandwich and onto the floor, and couldn't help but smile back at her. He had only been in this little girl's life a short while, but she seemed fairly open to him, from the very beginning. That was good, since it would be fairly awkward living in the same house with a girl you cared for, while her daughter had it out for you. (It would be bound to turn into one of those R-rated horror films, and Abel would be the most likely candidate to be killed off first. Oh Lord, what a Hirugashi style mini-Halloween event concept! Good thing the creators of these characters aren't that sadistic.) But anyway, she was a sweet girl, and seemed to always know how to make her mother smile, and Abel liked that. After he saw her, he turned his body and took a step toward her, then stopped and put a hand on his waist. "Hey, Amara! That sandwich tasty enough for ya?"

Amara took a bite out of the sandwich and wiped her hands on the napkin that Alihi smartly provided. Once sure that her hand was clean, she mimicked Abel's pose, resting her hand on her waist. "Mm-hm! It's made out of bread and peanut butter and jelly and love~!" To prove her point, she took another huge bite out of the sandwich. Chewing, she twirled around on one foot, ultimately dropping more globs of jam onto the ground below her. But did she care at all? Nope. "Whee~"

She did care, though, once she got too dizzy and nearly fell on her bottom while stumbling around trying to regain her sense of balance and orientation. "W-whee..." The small girl shook her head around wildly, her red hair whipping around as she did so. "What were you doing, Abel?" She blinked, staring up at him with a child-like curiosity. "Mommy was wondering if you were hungry... That's why I came out here! To ask you that!" She grinned up at him, eyes shut with delight due to remembering why she was even sent outside in the first place.

Even as she stumbled, after she finished spinning, the points only doubled, because of her c-c-combo breaker. He called out to her to be careful, and chuckled again at her silliness, before she asked him a question.

"Hm? Oh, I was just... admiring the sky, that's all. Anyway, you BET I'm hungry! Oh, her cooking always fills me up! Even with just a sandwich! Oh, foood! Come to me! I can't wait, I need it now! Watch out Amara, the mighty consumer is coming through! Raaaawr!" With that, Abel comically charged toward the door of the house, with hands raised in the air, making the silliest monster noises ever chanted.

Amara squealed and slipped into the house before Abel, immediately diving behind a chair. She held Berry, her stuffed bear, in front of her as a shield. "Look out, mommy!" The little girl cried out with unmistakable excitement. "There's a hungry monster!!"

Meanwhile, Alihi was trying her best not to laugh. "Oh, really?" She poked her head out the kitchen, holding a mustard-coated spreading knife in her hand. "Well, the monster better tell me what he'd like to eat or else I'm not making him anything." She smiled slightly. It was totally an empty threat; if Abel didn't respond, she'd just make something and hope for the best. She couldn't let him starve, after all!

"Mommy! That is not how you deal with monsters!!" With a small cry that was supposed to be a battle cry but turned out to be way too adorable to possibly be one, Amara charged at Abel, Berry in one hand and Straw in the other. "Yaaaaah!" She began to whack Abel in the legs with her stuffed horse and bear.

... No, she was totally not too energetic for her own good...

Abel chased Amara into the house and slowly pursued after her, swiping his hands, as if he had claws, and giving a bad impersonation of a monster that sounded as if a sheep was dying. Abel was so into playing the part of a monster, he almost didn't hear Alihi threaten the most horrible threat ever; no food!

Of course, that was only almost. Once he heard the word 'eat', his ears practically rose and zoomed in on Alihi. "Oh, geeze! Ok, ok, uh... ...I'd really like some-" His food order was interrupted by the battle cry of a little girl, and suddenly felt the impact of soft furry things on his legs. "Ahh! Wha.. whoa..! A-ahhh!" Despite the weapons being only stuffed animals, he couldn't fight his nature in this case, and quickly found himself tripping over himself and falling on his butt, flailing his arms, being still under attack. "Oh no! Ahh! Help me! She got my legs! Ahh! I give up! Have mercy! Just don't tickle me! It's my ultimate weakness!" Obviously, he was still having fun.

Amara paused for a moment. Tickling? She grinned mischievously at Abel, giggling softly. A few seconds passed before she pounced, slamming into him and beginning to tickle him. "Tickle tickle tickle~!" The little girl grinned widely, obviously overjoyed with being able to tickle Abel. It was just so much fun! So what if it was his "ultimate weakness"? She was beating him!

Eventually, though, she got tired of it and she gave him a huge hug. "I win, I win~" Amara exclaimed, a twinge of pride in her voice. She held him tight, refusing to let go. "Mommy, mommy, look, look! I won!"

Alihi shook her head slowly, chuckling to herself. It's almost like I'm raising two kids sometimes... An amused smile came to her face and she approached the two. "... I never did get an answer, you know." Her smile turned softer and she laughed at Amara's enthusiasm to keep a hold on Abel. "... You're both okay, though, right?" She asked, the question more directed at Abel than Amara. After all, she knew very well that he had a tendency to hurt himself...

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Abel tried to fight the tickle attack, but something to devious cannot be won against by oneself. His tickle induced laugher escaped him and just like that became helpless to that of a little girl. It would have been quite embarrassing, had it not just been playing around. Eventually, she stopped, having conquered the hunger monster, and made a truce offering with a big hug. Abel always liked to bond with rough housing, it was just more effective. "Oooh! I have been defeated! The hungry monster is slaaain!" Abel declared, accepting defeat.

After the question reached his ears, Abel looked up to Alihi. "Huh? Oh, yeah, we're fine!" Abel stood up, and propped Amara to her feet. "I'd really like a turkey sandwich, if that's alright. ..Uh, extra turkey, too! Heh... Anyway, can you go find my shirt, Amara? It's somewhere around here... I'll go wash up before I eat." He smiled at Alihi before going out to the washroom, where buckets of water had been placed after retrieving it from the lake earlier that morning. Good thing they lived in a village with convenient access to the lake.

Alihi blinked. "What, no 'please'? I don't know... I'm trying to get Amara to always ask with 'please', and you ask without one?" She smiled slightly, a teasing tone clear in her voice. She had to be motherly sometimes, even if it was for the purpose of picking fun! "... Of course. It's no trouble at all." The tactician nodded slightly, smiling a bit brighter when Abel smiled at her. After he headed for the washroom, she headed back to kitchen, ignoring the nagging feeling that there was something odd about it, like she was filling some stereotype or something.

Meanwhile, Amara was looking around the small house, looking for Abel's shirt. "Green shirt, green shirt, green shirt..." The little girl mumbled, looking in the most unlikely of places for the article of clothing. "Shirt, where are you~?" She called out softly, looking around and around before finally finding it. "There you are!" She grinned triumphantly, holding Abel's shirt in her hand. Yeah, she was proud of finding the article of clothing. Amara draped the shirt on a chair where Abel could easily see it, and then went and clinged to her mother's leg. "Whee~!"

He then shook his head and blinked a couple times in reaction. After rinsing and shaking his hands, he grabbed a rag and dried himself, then tossed the rag back to the side. He never was one for neatness.

Looking up out of the small window, the only source of light for the room, he could see the clouds grazing across the sky again. Abel couldn't help but think about hard questions, that he couldn't really answer. Why was he here? This is a far from normal situation. He had no responsibilities to care about them. And Alihi was able to make due before he started helping out. So why did he stay? In situations like these, Abel's head could never give him the answers he needed. But, he knew what felt right, and he felt he should stay. So, that's what he would do, even if he had to go out on a job. He would stay, for as long as he was needed.. and wanted. His mind came back into the room and snapped him out of his daze. He turned away and headed back out to the table. Food was likely there by now, and he couldn't keep it waiting!

When he entered the room, he spotted his shirt, and went over to the chair is was laid upon and slipped it on. For some reason, the room then seemed less sparkly. Huh, weird. He looked down on the table and saw a beautiful sandwich just waiting for consumption. Of course, he duly obliged, and hopped into the chair immediately. He grabbed the sandwich with both hands and rose it up to his mouth, but stopped suddenly, and looked over at Alihi, who seemed to have an eyebrow raised, as if still waiting for something. Abel looked at her blankly for a second or two, before he finally realized what he forgot, and smiled at her. "Thaaaaaaank yoooooou!" He said with a childlike imitation. He then gave a big teeth showing, eye closed grin, before he turned back and began to messily scarf down the sandwich like a beast. Well, what can somebody really expect from one having grown up without being taught proper manners? At least he put his shirt on...

It was hard for Alihi not to laugh, really. She wasn't expecting a reply and wouldn't have minded too much if he didn't reply, though she would have teasingly scolded him for it later. But nope, she got a very stretched-out and almost childish "thank you". The tactician grinned. "No problem!" Sure, she'd have to clean the table later because of how sloppily Abel was eating, but at the moment it didn't matter. He was happy, which was enough for her. A thought ran through the back of her mind, and then another. The first was too complicated to answer at the moment, so she shoved it aside.

The other, though, was simple enough. Her stomach growled slightly, causing her to blush with embarrassment. "I... I need to make myself something now." She laughed sheepishly before scurrying off to make herself a sandwich. ... Why did I not make myself food?!

Amara giggled softly. "Silly mommy~"
