Hobbies: Gardening – Loren doesn’t have a lot of room to grow what he needs, but he keeps a small garden where he grows both plants and herbs. While he grows some fruits and vegetables, the majority of his produce consists of medicinal herbs and tea leaves. Most of what he grows is edible however he also has a collection of medicinal herbs. He spends a lot of time tending to his garden; he is very interested in plant breeding and takes a very scientific approach.
Alternative Medicine –Though Loren believes in scientifically proven medicine, he explores herbalism, homeopathy, and acupuncture on the off chance that something will be effective. He is most interested in herbalism and tries to use this information as well as scientifically proven facts to develop his research.
The Arts (Music & Painting) - Loren learned how to play many instruments during childhood; the intense regiment helped establish his work ethic and diligence and gave him a creative outlet. He predominantly plays piano, though violin is a close second favorite. He has been composing since he was in high school but limits personal performances. He plays his instruments as a form of stress relief; when composing his own creations he does not need to strive for perfection but can simply go with the flow. Similarly, he treats painting to the same degree; while he has taken many classes and aspires for perfection, he is able to paint from the mind. Abstract art is among his preferred styles.
Trophies – Loren needs trophies; he will compete in anything he feels he is proficient in and will strive to improve his abilities so he can display proficiency. The trophies are a tribute to his accomplishments and validate his existence. He keeps a wall of trophies and has been collecting since the birth of his younger brother. He will exploit any talent or hobby he has competitively. His need for competition (and to win) allows him to explore a wide variety of opportunities and meet a wide variety of people.
Virtues: Astute – Loren pays attention to everything around him; he is particularly observant and uses this to his advantage to assess people and situations. Flaws: Overcritical – Loren is overly hard on himself and others. His pride is a constant issue and he sometimes overvalues his own abilities. Small flaws and imperfections are cause to scrap entire projects or ignore the good. Loren can come across as obnoxious with his need to only produce the
best; many of his concerns wind up small nitpicks and he can come across as being over dramatic. Sometimes it seems like he is only able to focus on imperfections and cannot appreciate something for what it is.

Obsessive – Once Loren puts his mind to something, it is nearly impossible to move him off that track.
