She felt stronger. So much stronger. Tinaksite had never really felt like this before. Perhaps this was just…power. She had finally come to understand her place in the Negaverse, and finally could work on doing something for the organization.
She was getting so much more confident when it came to taking starseeds, and she truly enjoyed doing it.
There was someone in her grasp now, a man who had no prospects, who was making the city filthy and she was just doing her job of getting rid of the filth, right? And gathering the energy that the cause needed. The victim was nearly unconscious from the lack of energy when she first noticed the feeling of someone nearby, and for a moment, Tinaksite hesitated, her eyes narrowing.
Though…perhaps now she would be able to collect two starseeds tonight. That would be wonderful. One to eat, and one to save for later.
At the thought of eating a starseed, Tina felt her mouth begin to water and she slid her hand into the male’s chest, taking the softly glowing gem out and gazing it with hunger in her eyes, bringing it to her lips. If there was a fight coming, well. She had to be ready, didn’t she?

Ammersee was still getting used to being a Knight--which wasn't necessarily something he was proud to admit, but instinct still demanded he try to teleport. It was nearly the only thing he remembered about being a Negaverse agent--only, it wasn't a memory as much as a feeling.
Fight or flight, he tired to teleport--something he hadn't even actually really understood until it was clearly explained to him.
It didn't stop the impulse.
Sometimes, he was still drawn to the urge, whether he knew it or not. He was drifting towards the chaotic energy signature in the distance without really thinking about it. He wasn't going out for a fight; he was still afraid that someone might recognize him, might realize that he wasn't as dead as he'd like them to believe.
He had great concern that all of the hard work he'd put into faking his own death to fool the Negaverse could be wasted but he did have a job to do. And, judging by the way the agent had a starseed to her lips, he'd had a very good reason to come out tonight.
He stiffened when he saw the man slumped by her feet when it clicked that she had pulled his starseed, that she looked like she was going to eat it.
He knew it was worth than a death sentence.
He gripped the weapon in his hand a little tighter. "I don't think I need to tell you to put that down. You're making a bad decision."

Tinaksite paused and watched the Squire for a moment, her golden eyes thoughtful, and after a moment, she smiled, the action making her look just a bit sinister. “Put it down? If you wish it.” She laughed and put the starseed into her mouth, crunching it happily and shivering as the boost filled her.
“There. It is down. Down into my body. Down into my blood. What will you do about it?”
Fight, she hoped. Her flail was summoned her hand in the hopes of it, and the smile grew into a grin as her body acclimated to the heightened energy, the boost of power.
There was no way that this could be anything bad. Nothing bad could feel so good.
“It is too late to do anything about it. Though, perhaps you could just give me your starseed too. I do like to have an extra, and dessert sounds good today.”

Ammersee’s eyes flashed; he didn’t know much about saving starseeds--he didn’t know if they could be put back together, didn’t know if there was any chance of saving anything.
But he’d try, at least.
He gripped the baseball-bat sized trident and charged at her, swinging it at her stomach. At the very least he could hope that she’d throw it up or something. He’d hope that someone had some magical starseed glue to fix this, to make it right.
Maybe he knew it was a pointless battle.
Maybe he just wanted her to hurt for such a blatant disregard for human life.
As he swung the golden trident, something in him was angry enough to channel the magic he’d been gifted with this new form. Bells tinkled, an almost friendly sound, that contrasted the anger broiling in his chest.
Quote: Magic: Ammersee swings the trident and a tinkling, chime like sound echoes through the air. For as long as he is channeling his magic, all targets within a ten foot range will continue to hear the chiming and find themselves lost in a strange illusion. Everything around them will appear to darken and ripple, as they are trapped in a vortex of water and cut off from the outside world. The bells will continue chiming melodically, however with more intensity the longer he channels it. The music can cause a sense of alarm and concern; targets cannot see or hear clearly and it feels as though the water is crushing down on them. At player discretion it can give the impression of sinking or drowning, and they can choose to utilize actual water that lingers after the magic ends if desired. The magic will follow targets as they move and each individual target is trapped for the duration of magic. He can channel his magic for up to forty seconds at this stage.

Good. It looked as though this would turn into a fight. She liked fights now, ever since Wolframite had helped her to do more than whack people on the head. When Tinaksite had learned how much fun it was to cause pain…well. Everything had changed then. Become much more clear. This was fun. This was a worthy thing to do.
It was a pleasure to do her job. And she was getting so good at it.
Tinaksite had moved away from his trident, and then lunged towards the Squire, fully intending to hit him with her flail, hoping to do enough damage to knock him unconscious.
Of course, as soon as she moved closer…something…happened. There was the sound of bells…and suddenly she was underwater, and it felt as though she couldn’t breathe. What was this? This…this wasn’t normal. This…this wasn’t what she had anticipated at all.
Opening her mouth to scream, the Captain found that she couldn’t. Her fear began to grow and she began to thrash, panic rising.

Ammersee didn’t always get to see what his magic did; it was a personal illusion, a private hell. He knew that much. He knew that she deserved it.
He wanted to let her suffer in it, with the faint hope that it was some sort of divine punishment, some sort of justice. He raised his trident once more and swung it at her back, hoping that while she was distracted he might be able to get her to cough up the starseed.
He continued to channel--he had a bit more left in him.
...If he couldn’t get her to cough up her starseed now, he’d leave.
Maybe in his heart he knew that it was too late, but he was going to try anyway. He’d take this one last chance, let her stay trapped in his illusion, and run before she broke out of it.
...He’d do more if she spit up the starseed, he’d fight to get the shards, but.
In the pit of his stomach, he knew it was a lost cause. Ammersee was used to trying his hardest and failing. Disappointment constantly overshadowed hope.
At least he was trying.

Tinaksite felt a sharp blow to her back and she let out a confused cry, swinging her flail wildly, trying to hit whatever it was. Whoever it was. Trying to get out of whatever Hell that she was in. She couldn’t breathe, couldn’t think, couldn’t do anything and she was beginning to panic, when suddenly whatever magic that was working on her seemed to end and the Captain stumbled backwards, gasping for air.
“What…what was that?” Her heart was pounding and she felt as though she would never be safe again. If this was something that the enemy could do…she had to tell Wolframite about this. She had to warn Laven.
“We will kill you!” Tina shrieked and then teleported before the Squire could do any more damage.
At the very least…she had taken the starseed. So in a way…she had still won. There was no coming back from taking a starseed…and perhaps next time she would take one from a Squire. His, if she could. Maybe it would be good to have a hunting party. That could be arranged.

Ammersee glowered at Tinakasite--at where she stood, at least, when she vanished from sight.
His stomach fell, albeit only briefly. He had expected more. Had expected something.
And yet, he wasn’t afraid of her. Maybe he should have been, at the threat of death--at the ‘we’. He glanced at the crumpled body and walked to it, reaching down to take his pulse. There was nothing, but he already expected that.
With a sigh, Ammersee rose again. It wouldn’t do him any good to linger in the area just in case that Captain decided she wanted fast revenge. He shook his head and took his leave.
He had tried his best.
Sometimes there just wasn’t anything you could do.
But maybe, if he’d been stronger, he could have changed the outcome.
He wasn’t going to stop fighting--or getting stronger.
