Prompt Response ---One--- A stiff breeze rustles Jiwe's tufted of hair as she gazes across the land. Red pelts flash through the air as the Firekin swarm like flies in training. Jiwe's eyes lock on an especially vivid pelt as it darts across an opening, only to be tossed aside by a bigger figure. She crinkles her muzzle in concentration. These Firekin fight tirelessly and never ending, which isn't practical. So much potential energy is wasted on the weak. Warriors should be trained, yes, but others need to be applied elsewhere. Time spent on anything but the strong leads to time wasted. The rains have become less common and the dry season is latching onto the earth. Drought drives away prey, which greatly reduces resources. All this extra training could hurt the pride more than help it if they let too much time slip away. Someone else could wander in and claim what little water there is. No one can survive without resources and what good is a warrior if he can't drink?
Jiwe cast another glance at the figures. Her body is now rigid with time spent studying the Firekin. From a distance she hears giggles and excited yips. She tilts one ear towards the noise, which is greeted with jubilant words of training, specifically training with the Firekin. Her attention snaps to the incoming figures. They speak of fighting and battles-- learning the ways of the warrior. Jiwe unfolds her stiff limbs. She stretches the tenseness out of her joints before joining her littermates. Approaching the back of the group, she stops. A rather loud one spouts at the mouth about all the glory and honor he'll gain. Useless. Only survival matters. Jiwe casts her eyes to an approaching female adult. She calls out to the cubs to gather and prepare for travel. Good. Jiwe's patience is growing thin listening to the others gossip about who will do better. The time spent with the Firekin will not go to waste. Jiwe will see how this... training will help with her survival. There is potential for growth, an opportunity not to be missed.
