Anga skipped along, bobbing his head. He was in a rare mode. Well, happy was not rare for him, but the skipping part was. Something came over him and he somehow had the energy to bounce around. Normally, Anga didn’t have enough energy to roll over. He didn’t like to waste it, but a quick dip in the lake earlier really lifted his spirits. He paused, a bit in shock. Was…was he changing. Anga placed a paw over his heart, dramatically. Not him! Oh, no! What is the world coming too! Anga mimed swooning to the ground. He chuckled to himself as he got back up. Naaaa~ he was still the same. As soon as this bit of energy got burnt up, he’ll be back to his old lazy self.

Anga hummed a little tune and swayed his hips to the rhythm. He didn’t really have rhythm…but nobody could tell him otherwise. He would just think people were jealous of his smooth moves. Yep, life was great and nothing could spoil his spirits. Well, I guess the heat could. He shivered. Anga hated the heat. It always made him cranky and a cranky Anga was a bad Anga.

Baridi paused by a small stream for a quick drink. The air today wasn't too hot or humid, and she figured she'd take advantage of the break in the horrible weather to roam around. She wasn't used to being alone for so long and honestly, it was starting to wig her out a bit. Back when she was a cub, she had been surrounded by family and, as she had grown, she was always with a friend or two. But now she was alone, and had been for some time.

Lifting her head, she licked her lips before setting off to the east, keeping the slowly rising sun in front of her. It was only a few hours until the sun would be at it's highest point, and then she would rest. There was a good chunk of rougelands she could put between her and this stream, though, and she was determined to do so.

Baridi had only been walking for a half hour or so before she noticed a dark spot in the distance. Perhaps it was a rock? Or some kind of large bird? As she got closer, though, she realized it was a lion. Her ears pricked up in relief and her tail bobbed back and forth as she approached the male. She had no idea who he was or where he was going, but it was someone to talk to and that alone was good enough for her.

"Hello!" she called out as she got a bit closer, not wanting to startle him. "Lovely day, isn't it?

Anga continued to get his groove on. His tail swayed in tempo and he belted out a few 'yeah', 'da', 'sha-zam' to a made up song. It would be nice if everyday was this awesome. He wouldn't mind roaming the land to his own beat. Not that he didn't do that anyway~ but he didn't feel like dancing along everyday. Some times, life sucked. Good news: today was fabulous!

He swayed his head up and his eyes spotted a green leopard. He didn't stop his momentum, "Yeah, man!" Step, step, sway. "Today's the best day ever!" He jumped forward a bit and flicked his tail. Anga was unaware that the leopard was a female. He was too busy dancing away. "So, got any fly moves?" He skidded to the left. "And I'm not talkin' about the bug." A grin worked its way on his face. He thought himself pretty clever at the moment. Nothing could bring his mood down.

Baridi tilted her head as she approached the lion, who was still moving as she slowed. He began to bop around in the area, though, rather than walking as he had been before. What was he doing...dancing? A little smile crossed her face as she sat down to watch.

"Do I have any fly moves?" she repeated, a little laugh in her voice. "No, I can't say that I do. I'm afraid I don't have very good rhythm. You seem to not have that problem, though." She couldn't fault him for being himself if that's what he wanted to do. She had certainly seen better dancers, but she had rarely seen any as enthusiastic as this particular male.

"Are you from one of the dancing prides?" she asked after a moment, curious to know more about the male. "I've heard stories about them. They seem lovely."

Oh, ho, ho! What do we have here? Anga smoothly stepped up to the female leopard, not losing his rhythm. He didn't know she was...well, a she. He'd been too occupied getting his dance on to notice. Though, now she had his full attention. He puffed out his chest a bit and added a little umff to his moves. It wasn't everyday he got to show off his dancing abilities to a lady. The fact that she stayed with him instead of running away was all the motivation Anga needed to keep going.

"Ah, man~ that's a shame." He worked his way behind her. "No worries, though. I got the moves for both of his!" To pulled out from behind her and flipped out front, trying to be mysterious and awesome at the same time. He glanced back to make sure she was watching. "Naw, baby. I ain't from some dancin' pride." He slowed his body's bouncing to a smooth sway. "I'm from the chillest pride around." And with that, he plopped down and finished his dancing. "Now, where are you from?" He crossed his front paws and looked up at the female.

Baridi continued to smile as the dark lion danced around her. He was pretty entertaining! She turned her head to watch as he paused behind her and laughed as he rolled out. Oh, he was pretty good. She tilted her head just a bit as he spoke of his pride and shook her head in return.

"I'm not from a pride," she said simply as she pawed at the dirt. "I've been wandering the rouge lands for a while now. What pride are you from? The chillest pride around, apparently," she said with a little laugh.

This was nice, she decided as she shifted to lay down as well. The past few males she had come across had been rather gruff and mean. This one didn't seem mean at all! In fact, he had a very sweet, if silly, demeanor around him.

"I'm Baridi, by the way," she added, mentally scolding herself for forgetting her manners. "And you are?"

Anga glowed under her laughter. He always enjoyed a great audience. So she was a rogue like him? Well, he was officially in a pride, but still rather new. "The pride's called Kapoookooluuu." He stretched out the syllables because he sucked at pronouncing it right. Whatever, as long as he got close enough. "So you've come a long way? Man, you must be tired. I hate walkin' forever." He crinkled his muzzle in disgusted. "Though, it's pretty cool to see a lot of different stuff." A smile returned to his face.

Wait a minute...was Anga talking to a female? Not only was he talking to her, she was talking back! Hold it! This is a new record. For once a female wasn't looking at him in annoyance. He tried to keep the surprise from his face. That's the last thing he needed to do, freak her out. He coughed a couple times to hide his shock. "Sorry about that. The name's Anga." He smiled, "So, where are you headed?" Maybe she was going to some place cool.

Baridi wrinkled her nose a bit as the lion said a bunch of letters and sounds. She wasn't too sure what he had said, but she supposed it wasn't terribly important. Maybe the pride was just so cool they didn't have a set name. Huh...

"I've come quiet a ways, yes," she said with a little nod. "Met some other leopards and lions along the way...although none have been quite as friendly or cool as you," she added with a light laugh. "I've been walking for...well. I'd rather not think about how long. Not too sure what I'm looking for, either. A home, maybe. I kind of enjoy making friends and roaming, though."

Baridi smiled again as the lion gave his name. "Anga. That's a lovely name. I'm headed...that way." She nodded in the direction she had been headed previously. "Until I find something that makes me want to stop." Like this interesting fellow, for instance. Or water, or something to eat. Or, perhaps, a pride...that would be lovely. It wasn't really on her list of things she wanted, though. Eventually she might need one if she became a mother, but that wasn't a worry right now.

"You have?" Anga lifted his back leg and scratched a spot behind his ear. Felt like something was biting him there. Though, after she called him 'cool', he stopped and grinned. "Oh, yeah?" He fluffed up a bit at the praise. "Well, it's your lucky day then." This leopard knew all the right words to please Anga. Yep, he could stick around her for a bit longer. It wasn't everyday he ran into somebody that thought he was cool. Well, Anga was sure everybody thought he was cool. Duh, what else would they think? Of course, some people didn't know how to channel the chill factor and freaked out on him. Whatever, now he's found somebody that likes him enough to stay and chat.

He nodded, "Yeah, I've traveled quite a bit too. You know~ enjoying the bachelor life." He raised an eyebrow and cocked a bit of a grin to seem...suave..wait, was that a good thing? At this point, Anga didn't care. "Naaaaa~w. Anga's not as cute as Baridi." He wondered how long he could get away with talking to her. From past history, any minute she'd get pissed and storm off. Hopefully, she'll stay.

Baridi laughed quietly and swatted her paw lightly in the air at Anga. "Oh please. You're too kind," she said, averting her eyes just a bit. Aw, he was a little sweetheart on top of being a...'great' dancer. So cute.

"So if you're from a pride, why are you out here?" she asked, looking around the rather barren land. "Unless this is where the pride is...in that case, how do you survive?" It was quite desolate the more she looked at it. No water, no food, not even a tree. Just some shrubs here and there.

Baridi looked back at Anga, a concerned look on his face. He didn't look hungry or thirsty...maybe just a bit further down there was tropical paradise. She had seen stranger things in her travels, certainly.

A rush of electricity pulsated through Anga. If he didn't know any better, he'd say he was purring. Do big cats purr? He wasn't sure, but he was making some kind of noise and it was reverberating in his chest. It was like he was a cub again. Very weird...and yet, awesome.

"It's a baby pride for now." He pulled his eyes away and looked around the area. "Plus, I can't keep out of the rogue lands for long. There's too many awesome places to explore!" He joined the pride not too long ago, but he still couldn't get the rogue blood out of him. Anga just wasn't ready to sit down in one place for too long. He really enjoyed exploring new things. Like, maybe there was a special place in the world that had fluffy rocks he could sleep on! He couldn't pass up the opportunity to sleep on fluffy rocks.

His eyes snapped back to Baridi and he shouted, Hey! Do you want to come check it out? There's this awesome lake that keeps the place cool. And it's...like a mini paradise or something." His chest heaved up and down in excitement. "Plus, I could catch you some fish to eat." He cocked a grin. "I am a hunter for the pride." Look at Anga, tryin' to sound all special.

A new pride, then. That sounded exciting! The few she had come across were well-established and had been around for much longer than anyone could remember. And it sounded like a tropical oasis, which itself was very impressive to find here in Africa. Very rarely were there such places. Perhaps they were close to the ocean! That would be something to see, for sure.

The offer and Anga's enthusiasm made Baridi nod and laugh in reply. "Sure! It sounds like a great place. It certainly won't hurt to take a look around." And who knew? Maybe she'd like it enough to stay. She had the same mindset as Anga, though. Who knew what else was out there in the rouge lands? Perhaps if there was nothing more out there she could return and join this tropical pride.

"Oh, it's been ages since I've had fish," she said with a little sigh of nostalgia. "That would be most gentlemanly of you for you to catch some for me. I would be most honored to accompany you back to see this fantastic pride you're so proud of."

Anga bounced up and down he was so ecstatic! Just the possibility of finding another creature that talked to him without yelling, running away, or fighting really shocked him. "Alright!" He shouted, proud of himself. Koko and the Queen would love to meet Baridi. She was nice and easy going, plus, no white marks (well, a little bit, but they let Anga in with white). There's no way they could say no. Besides, if they could put up with him, Baridi will be a breeze.

Anga jumped up and ran up to Baridi. "Then let's go!" Oh, wait, what if she wasn't ready? He calmed himself and tried to stay still. "That is, if you're ready to go." His ears tilted back. It would be great if they could leave now, he was too excited not to show her around. Anga shrugged. Oh, well. Better start now than wait later. "How about we start slow. I'm super excited to get there and show you around." He grinned and started strolling toward the direction of the lake. "You're going to love it!" A big, sloppy grin spread across his face. Yeah, this was going to be awesome. Maybe she'll stick around and Anga can get to know her...'better'.

Baridi laughed as she stood up and let Anga bounce around. "Sure, I'm ready to go," she said, flicking her fluffy tail in excitement. "You seem eager to show me your home, and I'm eager to see it. Especially if there's fish involved."

She trotted after Anga as they headed to his pride, more than ready for a meal and some conversation with a new friend.
