He lifted his paw and extended a claw to scratch under his chin. A sigh of happiness escaped his lips from the relief. His paw flopped back down, while he laid his head down on the ground. A good stretch sent warm tingly feelings through out his body. The summer time was one of his favorites. He rather enjoyed the heat and just relaxing. It was a bit easier to catch prey too. The heat seemed to sap their strength while it rejuvenated Huritt.
His ears tilted as a noise caught his attention. He barely opened one eye to catch a glimpse. Nothing seemed to be there so he closed his eye again before the concept of napping drifted through his mind.

It was almost past sunrise and Ea knew he had to stop till sunset for it was the only times he moved. Stopping, he saw a lion in the distance and snarled but laid down. He never really liked how his days went, and sighed. Chuffing, he just sat down and began to groom himself carefully. He finished and kept his light blue eyes scanning till his stomach growled and he huffed.
Not able to hunt, the young hybrid cub hasn't had food in days and was starving. He couldn't get any help now because of his moods thanks to the quick happenings but he just couldn't get food by hunting for he was a cub. Groaning, he laid down, covering his face with his paws.

There is goes again, another noise. A little annoyed, Huritt picked up his whole head to look about. He didn't like having his nap interrupted and it was frustrating that he didn't find what made the noise the first time. His was a bit taken aback when he spotted a cub. His anger shifted into curiosity. What was a cub doing out in the rogue land all by himself? He tilted his head and squinted his eyes to get a better look. The cub looked...different. Very odd indeed. Huritt has never quite seen an animal like him before. Well, now he was definitely intrigued.
He smoothly picked himself off the ground and made his way over to the cub. By the looks of things, it was pretty hungry. No telling how long its been since he's eaten. Huritt didn't want to scare the guy so he plopped down a good distance away and addressed him, "So, what's a kid like you doing out here by yourself?" Huritt looked down and grinned at the cub, wary that his presence may frighten him.

Ea looked at the male, watching him come closer. Something was weird about the lion, but they always were the same breed, just more pure. Huffing, she glared at the male, ears flat and claws sheathed. He wasn't feeling good by the way today was. A purebred meeting a hybrid. Some purebreds would throw Ea away like trash, just like mother did but today, he just wasn't comfortable.
"Who wants to know?" Ea said rudely. After the whole evil event a few days back, Ea has done nothing but have a big attitude. Tail twitching and thrashing, many physical signs from his body made others know to be careful for the cub kinda meant business.

Huritt held back a chuckle, but he couldn't keep the grin away. It spread across his face after the cub's retort. Huritt thought this cub had spunk and deserved a bit of his respect for being so alive for looking...not so good.
He took the invitation. "Huritt would like to know and what's your name?" The kid had to have skills or just plain luck to survive this long by himself. Hopefully there wasn't an angry mother charging down Huritt's neck at this very moment. Though, taking in the kid's condition, he doubted there was anything to worry about.
His back legs shifted his weight. If Huritt didn't know any better, he'd think that he was beginning to like the kid before he even talked to him. He could appreciate his tenacity.

Ea looked at the lion and was impressed. Usually most lions and Cheetahs would attack him for his mouth but this one was different. Scanning the lion, he was pretty cool but that doesn't gain trust just by looks but its how they will act that gets the blood pumping.
Huffing, he just looked at the lion one more time. "Ea. Ea Moeshe." He replied simply. He kept a rough tone for he wasn't going to be nice.

Huritt nodded and belted out, "A strong name!" Before succumbing to laughter. Not that he was laughing at the cub's name. No, he was just tickled at Ea's overall demeanor. Though, he could tell that the cub was on edge. Huritt's presence seemed to be--tolerated for the moment.
He relaxed his shoulders. Tension seemed to have built up from a bit of anxiety. Huritt didn't realize how worried he was about this strange cub. He certainly couldn't leave it alone. It was good that Ea didn't bolt. "So, Ea, what are you doing out here by yourself?" It was a miracle he wasn't dead yet. There were creatures out that would love to make him a snack. Though, Huritt wasn't quite sure what Ea was. He looked like a lion... but not all the way. Huritt tilted his head as he surveyed Ea.

"Just....moving." He said with a bit of a less-mad tone but more of a sad tone for the memories were to small but harsh. He never really wanted this to happen to him but he just had to face facts. Sighing, he looked at the lion. Pictures of what Ea went through faintly flipped from one to the next in his eyes.

His ears faltered a bit at Ea's tone. Just the energy in the area dropped. Huritt shifted his weight again. He didn't like the heaviness that went with Ea's comment. Huritt's had his share of sad memories, but this cub has obviously experienced some bad things, which was sad... especially considering his age. Though, if Huritt really thought about it, something horrible had to have happened for Ea to be in the rogue lands by himself.
Well, there wasn't much Huritt could do to help his family situation, but maybe he could provide something to eat. It was clear the cub was hungry. Huritt didn't have to look hard to notice lean muscles and very little cub fat. He couldn't leave a cub in this condition. "Well, since it looks like you're not moving at the moment, how about I get us something to eat?" Hopefully, Ea won't run away while he's gone. It shouldn't take him too long to catch something. He spotted plenty of burrows not far from where they sat. It would only take him a few minutes to rustle up something to eat. "Just stay here and I'll be back soon." He quickly stood up and dashed towards the direction of the borrows. He didn't bother to wait for a response. Even if the kid decided to run off, he wouldn't get very far compared to how fast Huritt could run.

Ea just watched as the lion went fast to the holes. Watching was pleasant and leaving wasn't an option for it wasn't time yet. Yawning, he just laid down and waited.

Huritt jogged up towards the center of the holes and paused. He placed both paws squarely underneath him and closed his eyes to help him concentrate. His ears twitch in multiple directions as he used all of his senses (minus his eyes) to find little animals. They were in their burrows, so using his eyes was useless. He could feel a little vibration to his left paw. An ear tilted in that direction. Barely louder than a whisper, he could make out little scratching noises. Huritt crept up to the hole near the noise. He stuck his nose close to the entrance in order to get a scent, which gratefully greeted him. Judging by the size of the hole, the burrow couldn't be that deep. Unsheathing his claws, Huritt raised his right paw. Then plunged it deep into the hole. His claws sliced into some poor creature before he brought it out. A rabbit remained snarled in his claws. He dragged it in the sun, snapping its neck, before picking it up with his teeth.
Trotting back over to Ea with his prize in his mouth, Huritt didn't think about what the cub could eat. Was he even old enough to eat meat? Well, tough luck if he wasn't. There was no way Huritt could produce milk. He also didn't know of any nannies either. The rabbit will have to do.
He dropped the rabbit in front of Ea and plopped back down to sit. This time he was much closer. He just got the kid some food, he could afford a closer seat this time. "Go ahead and eat. Just howler if you need help." He meant it too.

What was that lion doing? Ea never saw something like that happen before from a lion until now. Watching, Ea should know it well in order to use it in case he goes hungry again and nobody is around.
Looking at the rabbit, he sniffed it and started to tear at at. Nobody else would be this hungry unless they were traveling during a scarce season.

His grin plastered on his face full force now. He was extremely happy Ea was eating. Huritt took a moment to think about the recent events. A random cub is all alone in the area and Huritt caught something for him to eat. Thankfully, he was eating. Huritt mentally shook his head. This definitely was a new experience. Though, Huritt was glad he acted the way he did. Not that he was ever mean, but if you're never placed in a certain situation, you never know how you're going to act.
While Ea stuffed his gullet, Huritt took the opportunity to talk. "So, since you're out here by yourself, then family life must suck. Either you ran away or got kicked out." Though, it could be that his family was killed...that would be awful and Huritt would rather not mention it. "I can relate a bit. I never knew my dad and my brother was an a**. We separated when we were pretty young. Granted, I wasn't as young as you. You must be super strong in order to survive by yourself."

Ea gasped, pausing from the food and in shock for none of those things were close to what really happened. The boy couldn't have done anything that would cause what his mother did but when he closed his eyes, tears started to go down his cheeks as he began to lightly shake and gritting his teeth. "I don't know why she did it, it just happened! Her leaving, them separating, it all happened to fast and to soon that i can't even understand! I don't know why, i just don't!" Ea said, tears streaming down faster than the speed it started by. Ea has talked about it but didn't know what the reason was. "The only things i know about my family is that i never saw Dad and when me and my two siblings could eat meat, Mom left us to fend for ourselves but we didn't know how. My siblings split up, one going Mom's direction, and one left to do whatever he wanted. I was left by myself, vultures even followed now and then buts all i can remember...." He said, sniffling a bit. Never before has he feel so good to cry.

As the tears started to fall, Huritt wasn't sure what to do with himself. Though personally, Huritt hasn't cried in years, but he could appreciate the tears streaming down the kid's face. It's never good to keep so much emotion bottled up inside. If tears help get through the pain, then by all means, cry away.
He nodded in agreement. "Separating from your mother is always hard. It's something all males must go through." Reflecting on Ea's story, some sooner than others. Huritt cocked his head and smile. "Hey! I've never seen my dad either! Plus, I haven't seen my siblings since we split up either. See? You're not alone." In fact, they had a lot in common. "We can start the 'My Family Sucks' club! You can be the leader and I'll be the muscle." He sat up straight and flexed his upper body, grinning the whole time. After all this heavy stuff, a little fun was always needed. Plus, that's something Huritt could get behind.
