Home - Moonfall An expensive townhouse sits nestled in the moderately wealthy section of Moonfall. A nameless maid comes once a week to dust and do the wash. If you were to ask this maid about this house, she would shrug noncommittally. Almost no decorations, she would say, certainly not a place to entertain. The only visible expenses are the massive bed, complete with linen sheets and a chushy bedspread, and the living room, with a comfortable armchair where the Miss takes her luncheon. Never breakfast; the young Miss is never awake for it.
All signs of wealth are locked away, and oh yes, this maid has seen the young Miss in jewels before so they had to be around there somewhere. Not that a lowly maid would ever dream of looking; oh no no no. The young Miss may have been seen dressed up in pearls and lace, but she's also been seen coming home with blood on her dress and a smile on her face. Never in her cups though, and never a hair out of place. Not that you could tell, she's into that 'rugged chic' look that's all the rage these days... Whatever she does when she goes out for the day, it's certainly not a maid's place to ask. Don't know why she even keeps the place, she's rarely in it longer to sleep and eat.

Sexual Preference: May play at a lesbian angle to snare her prey, but at the end of the day - straight.
Ability Concentration/Theme: Lightning. However, for some reason her lightning comes out black, instead of the expected blinding white. It's possible that it's because she's Majin, however, Rosel thinks it's likely a manifestation of her inner self: forbidding, violent, and dark.

Biography: Unable to conceive, Rosel's parents turned to a dark witch to force conception. Nine months later, a bouncing baby girl with eerie green eyes was born. Her family was a wealthy one, on the outskirts of Moonfall. Despite their desperation to have a child, the Rosel was all but estranged from her parents, growing up with tutors and maids. She had great talent, which, in the eyes of her tutors, overshadowed the darker qualities ripening in her psyche. In addition to the electrical shocks she could produce, Rosel discovered she could draw energy from those around her, primarily her tutors. When she finally left for Makai, she left her tutors as doddering, wasted, old men. As was expected of her, she was well read by the time she left, and knew perfectly well what she was.
She learned her first year that she could not hide her violent tendencies behind her talent, and by the time she graduated, had learned that craft and deception were better disguises. It was after her graduation that her parents finally stepped back into her life and asked that she do the "proper" thing and marry. The knowledge that a rich husband would keep her from needing to find employment was one of the few reasons Rosel deigned to accept an offer from another wealthy family connected to her own. The man in question was weak and simpering, and after the years of academia, the notion of ruling her own household appealed.
What she didn't expect was that the house was already under the strict rule of new husband's grandmother, a powerful witch of forceful character, even in her old age. The grandmother didn't take kindly to the young Rosel trying to usurp her power, and the household became a volatile one. Underhanded insults turned into threats, and those employed by the family were less than surprised when Rosel's wing of the house went up in flames one night.
Servants reported hearing raised voices between the grandmother and Rosel, then a strange sound like the sharp break of a length of wood. When the flames were finally under control, both the grandmother's and Rosel's husband's bodies were beyond recognition. Rosel herself escaped, by nothing short of a miracle, some said.
Rosel's parents sent flowers. Rosel burned them and left the remains of her erstwhile home, now a widow...and an heiress.

Personality: Secretive and extremely prickly, Rosel draws a very hard line between 'acquaintances' and 'friends'. She may talk to you, if you're a possible meal or ally, but don't expect that she harbors anything but calculated strategy for how you may be of use to her. Her family ties are nonexistent at this point, and are not something she's seen evidence of needing to regret.
She has no qualms about lashing out at someone that's made her angry, but will be underhanded about it if open violence will draw attention to herself. There's a sadistic streak in her that's usually taken out on insects and pests, though if she's feeling particularly nasty, she'll lure in a thief or two. After graduation from Makai and the incident with her in-laws, she's yet to find herself in a situation over her head. Whether this is due to her power and eagerness to resort to extreme violence, or sheer luck, remains to be seen.
Despite coming from an affluent family, Rosel has no desire to ever join that society again. The tedium of two-faced politics is more than she has the patience for anymore, and her parents don't bother to try and pull her back in. Though she'll never admit it to anyone, least of all herself, her family money is nothing special in high society, and that same two-faced politicking can be just as powerful as any frontal attack. Garden parties aren't her place anymore, and she won't risk humiliation from another Grandmother because she's so blatantly out of her element.
Main Traits:
~Prickly: If Rosel doesn't feel like talking to you, she will let you know. She has a higher tolerance towards potential meals, but no one is indisposable.
~Spoiled: She may have a rationalized practicality for what she buys, but if she decides she wants something, she'd better get it. Or someone's going to be sorry.
~Sadistic: In school, it was flies and bugs. In her marriage it was the occasional squirrel seen through an open window. As a worldly young woman, it's would-be thieves. Lording power over another living being is a heady tonic, and not one Rosel thinks is necessarily bad for her.
Likes:
~Power: Whether it's physical power or pure money, Rosel loves holding herself over others.
~Temptation: Though usually manifested in the jewels she uses to tempt thieves, she also draws enjoyment from the rare occasion of getting someone more 'pure' to dirty their hands.
~Travel: The novelty of Moonfall can wear thin if she lets it, so Rosel travels whenever she gets too restless. She's not above staying at a run down inn or a third rate hotel if it'll bring her the novelty of the world.
Dislikes:
~Hypocrisy: Rosel owns up to what she is, and more than that, revels in it. Anyone who lies to themselves about what they are or what they do, isn't worth her time of day.
~Embarrassment: Not for others, as she loves seeing the righteous fall, but for herself. She chooses to stay in the underbelly of the world because it's where she knows what she's doing. Being publicly humiliated was a familiar feeling at the hands of the Grandmother, and not a feeling Rosel intends to revisit.
~Boredom: It's a rare event if Rosel gets stuck in the house, though weather is the only thing that will do it. Even if she has to leave Moonfall altogether, Rosel insists on constant stimulation to keep her mind busy.
Quirks:
~Deaths in a wealthy family are always news, but the death of her in-laws wasn't spectacularly famous, especially since it seemed such an innocent, open and shut case. Nevertheless, she doesn't like talking about it. She has her prepared responses on the subject, usually enough to deflect the curious.
~Despite being occasionally difficult to get along with, Rosel has a weakness for frequenting seedy bars. Whether elbowing into a game of cards or simply sitting in the corner and people-watching, she loves being immersed in a society just as twisted as her; where money and raw power could get you just about anything.
~In spite of the violence and anger, Rosel is still a young woman used to the finer things in life. She doesn't like to fritter away her money, but every now and then goes a little weak in the knees for a pretty dress or a fine piece of jewelery.
