Rosel loved it when she got lucky with the weather. Too often, she got stuck traveling in rain and had to stay inside the caravan to avoid the cold. There was also her hair to think about. She could definitely pull off the wet-look, but not while traveling. In fact, anything but what she was wearing at the moment would have looked terrible. Nobody looks good while sitting in a caravan for hours on end, except her of course.
As it stood, however, the weather was spectacular and she was leaned dramatically out the window. She knew perfectly well the lecher in the seat across from her was now getting an eyeful of her backside, but oh well. She’d just eaten her fill of magic the day before, and wasn’t yet hungry enough she’d spoil her trip trying to woo the old coot to a private spot to make a snack of his aura. So long as he kept his hands to himself. And if he didn’t? Well, he’d be sorry soon enough.
Holding her hair back with one hand, she looked up into the sparklingly blue sky, interspersed with big, fluffy clouds. The dark pinpoint of a hawk floated just beneath them. Birds chirped in the trees around them as the caravan headed lumberingly towards a forest. It wasn’t too deep, but the thick trees cut off a view of the sky. A sudden idea came to mind and she grinned as she pulled back inside. Scooting closer to the front, she knocked on the window to the driver. ”Be a dear and stop here for a moment, I’d like to get out.” The vehicle stopped, but the driver turned to her in utter confusion.
“There ain’t nothing out here but trees and critters, miss. We’re a long ways off from the city yet.”
Jumping up from her seat, as well as she could with the low ceiling, Rosel fastened her shoulder bag around her and moved toward the exit at the back. ”I know. Don’t worry, I know exactly where I am.”
The back attendant scrambled to help her out before leaning in to whisper urgently. “We really are out in the middle of nowhere. If you, you know, need some private time, we’d be happy to stop for a moment-”
Rosel giggled merrily and patted his cheek, taking a discreet sip of his energy. ”Don’t you worry about me, sweetie. I’m meeting someone out here.” Ugh. If it were a man getting off in the middle of nowhere, everyone would assume he was a lumberjack or…something, and not bother detaining him with concerns. If she didn’t use that exact sentiment to catch her prey all the time, she might have actually been angry at them for it. She jumped determinedly out the back door and struck out down the road, casting a flippant wave behind her.
After she turned a bend in the road and couldn’t see the caravan anymore, only then did she hear it start up again and continue on its way. The road was only partially paved, and Rosel leaned on a tree to irritably fish a rock out of her heels. At least she’d made it down the road without stumbling. After the rumble of the caravan had sufficiently died down, she looked around excitedly. Satisfied when nothing but birds answered her, Rosel moved to the middle of the road and let her wings flicker out. She hadn’t been flying in…months. Taking a deep breath, she gathered her strength and leapt into the air, spiraling quickly upwards on a warm pocket of air.

For Emelia, the lack of rain of the cold chills was ideal. People tended to come out on days like today, the perfect kind for hunting. Out in the back roads? It was even more perfect. The lack of human traffic easily letting her find her prey. If she was feeling particularly nasty.. she would rob them and let then think it was a bandit. Humans, so easy to trick. All she had to do was set the stage. Aloft in the semi clear sky she'd been going down to the tree tops on occasion to check and make sure she hadn't missed any of her possible prey. Sadly the only ones she saw were to regular old men. Hardly worth her time- or to her taste. Hardly anything of worth. Keeping to the sky, she didn't think much of if people saw her. After all, how often did people look up for predators? Her flight was given a bit of a wake up call as she spotted a woman in the distance, also in the air. Also with the tell all wings. Another of her kind had come out, how delightful. Emelia had yet to really meet any new people, but she enjoyed the times did, and to meet another witch eater? The best. Provided they didn't end up fighting over prey. Flying near, the peach girl gave a small wave. "Hello there. I don't think I've seen you in the winds lately." Silent Comet OTL sorry for how late. OTL

It felt wonderful to fly again, like stretching a tight muscle that hadn’t been used in a while. Small creatures meandered through the wilds below, and other birds drifted elsewhere in the sky. Speaking of birds…
Rosel stretched out and twisted, flying on her back to watch the other witch eater approach. It was always a delight to meet another of her kind, though it didn’t happen very often. Each encounter was like a bit of chocolate from a Valentine; it could be sweet or bitter, but the experience was always worth it in the end.
Her flying companion wore a fetching purple skirt and Rosel instantly wanted one in dark green. Maybe some velvet trim and ribbons… Fashion musings aside, Rosel brushed back her hair against the wind and grinned toothily.
“Well hello there. I don’t fly very often. I’m tan enough as it is…” She tilted her one shoulder forward to glance at it mock-mournfully. “You look wonderfully familiar. Have we met before?”iStoleYurVamps Sorry for my late reply... Just now getting back into rp >_< Since they met very briefly in the last MP, how about we keep it that it was just a meeting in passing?

Emelia would like to think she was a sweet thing with a bit of spice. And very much worth any price. But hey, that was just her. Hovering in place Emelia, smirked. "A tan keeps the skin glowing like a fresh feast of magic." She smoothed over her own arms. "But some peach infused lotion always helps I've found. As for meeting each other." A finger tapped at her chin. "Possible we've met in passing. This have been a bit crazy as of late, so its hard to keep track of so many strange faces." Flying over some of the trees, she settled herself on one of the higher branches, practically floating on the thin tendril of wood. "You wouldn't be out hunting here by any chance, or just enjoying the day?"

”A fresh feast of magic… I like that.” She twisted her arm around and let a small black bolt of lightning flit around it. ”Not really a peach person though. More like…dark chocolate. Good for the heart, you know.” She winked at Amelia and twisted to follow her down to the nearest tree. ”I suppose it has been a bit crazy… Were you at that Halloween Ball? Wasn’t it just a gas?” Her nose crinkled and she sneered cruelly. A reaper stealing hearts? Oh to see the righteous fall…
She sat and crossed her legs daintily on a nearby branch, hovering slightly to save her stockings from the rough bark. ”No, I ate this morning in town. It’s too lovely out to be trapped inside, so I decided to get out and about. Yourself?”

Rolling in the air with a gust of wind landing to sit on the branch, Emelia smiled. "Chocolate is good for everything, any woman who denies such a fact well-" She waved her hand off. "She must'n have had good chocolate to start with." Giggling, she kicked her legs a bit. "Oh spirits above that ball- It was a hoot! I'd never seen such a sight and I have to admit, helped cover more than one meal though, it did get ridiculous. Now everyone is more on guard." Sighing she leaned back slightly. "Granted it helped cover us a bit, but now people jump at their own shadows. Quite difficult to get the edge on someone when they're already on edge as is." Nearby a bird hovered around them, as if waiting for them to move. "I ate... a while ago, but sometimes a little snack never hurts. And I agree, it's been far too long since I could fly and not worry. But-" Returning to the air, the witch eater looked around. "I also haven't had time to mess with anyone on the roads. Always a bit fun, making them think a monster is after them."

Rosel giggled and fluffed her hair back into place as a breeze moved through the leaves. "I know the cutest little sweets shop in Lumena, I must take you there."
Recalling the frustration of a thwarted meal, Rosel huffed irritably and recrossed her legs. "Exactly! I was with a dear friend of mine the day before, and he was so worried about me getting a decent meal... Things will go back to normal soon enough. People can only stay frightened for so long before they get lazy and complacent again."
Stretching, Rosel pointed her toes as she twisted her back. A moment later, she followed Emelia into the air, laughing at the peach witch eater's suggestion. "Now doesn't that sound fun... What do you say we make a day of it?"

Clapping her hands together, the witch eater nodded. "Oh please do. I've found that one can't really trust many of the adds, word of mouth is really the best. As for this whole reaper business-" She sighed as waved it off. "You're right. It's just a matter of time. Only the foolish would try anything to gather too much attention." Not that terrorizing merchants wasn't foolish. Looking around, a wagon was not to far off, one rider, and from the looks of it, heading into town. "How about that one? I usually make a few wolf illusions, what about you?"

"Attention? The wrong kind of attention hurts, but a couple staring eyes is great for the complexion." Stretching out on the breeze, Rosel clasped her hands behind her head and winked. As the pair drifted away from the tree, a circling sparrow fluttered down to reclaim a branch.
Flipping over languidly, she eyed the approaching rider with her hands under her chin. "Illusions? Oh my, now that's classy. Way out here, I usually go for the damsel in distress gag." Biting back a giggle, she put a hand to her forehead and pretended to faint, dropping a short height.

Emelia couldn't help but agree. A few eyes were always good. As Rosel mock fell, Emelia let her magic do it's work, the sound of wolves howling in the distance, a few snarls and yelps with rustling bushes added for effect. Crying out, she rushed to Rosel's side, looking up at the men in the wagon. "Please sirs, help us! We came out here to gather wild herbs but a pack of wolves- they've been after us all day and-" She let a few crocodile tears well up and spill over. The men were coming to them in less than a minute. As one went to pick up Rosel, Emelia leaned on the man who was 'helping' her stand. "O thank you, I'm just so tired..." Silent Comet Omnomheart time? also sorry for late reply!

Wolves? Had to be Emilia, what a clever trick!
“Thank you so much for stopping, we just can’t run any more…” As one man attended to Emilia, Rosel reached a hand up to the other one. They were middle aged, not terrible looking, but she’d certainly had better. Her fellow, a brunette just starting to go gray at the temples, knelt down to pull her to her feet.
He eyed her heels incredulously and she gave an apologetic smile. “Not the best shoes, I know. We didn’t think we’d have to do any running-” She stopped short and looked back to the forest. Biting a knuckle, she watered up her eyes and clutched at her savior’s arm. She never could get full on tears, even for a potential meal, but she could do a damsel in distress as well as the next girl. “I don’t know what we’d do if you hadn’t come along…” Just how far did they have to go until they ate? With a ripe heart so close, Rosel was hungry.

The sound of wolves vanished as quickly as they came, and at first the men did not notice it. White noise, they were more enamored with the women in their arms. But with the lack of sound, the lack of wind and birds carried a foreboding air of wickedness. Bringing her hand to the man's chest, Emelia gave a wistful sigh. "Thank you, without you both I fear we might be able to go on." The man looked at her, mildly confused as her finger tapped at his chest."It's always hard to go without a meal for so long you know?" Her wings unfurled, and the man only had enough time to cry out before her hand slipped in and out, the glowing witch's heart in her hand. "Ohhhh still ripe too..." It slipped past her lips and she smiled, the man crumpling at her feet.

Ah, the moment before the strike, Rosel’s favorite. She was always up for a fight, but it looked like these two were so completely bedazzled that their confusion overrode everything. The air went silent, and Rosel hooked her fingers into her savior’s lapel. The pair of them were dead already.
Emelia struck first, pulling out the heart in one swift move. Rosel herself preferred to draw it out slowly, but to each their own, and now wasn’t the time for a slow meal anyway. At the sight of his friend’s heart being swallowed away, her dinner attempted to jerk away in shock. Holding fast, Rosel snapped him to her, using the momentum to push her fingers into his chest. She felt the warm beating of his witch’s heart and closed around it, twisting her wrists as she drew it out. His face went grey as the heart left his body, and Rosel kept his fading eye contact as she tilted her hands back and swallowed his essence whole.
Sighing in deep satisfaction, Rosel looked over at Emelia with lidded eyes. Their prey lay in the dirt, for all purposes dead. ”Now that’s a meal.”
