Sadly you can't turn this tactic back on him. Tell him he's a total jerk and he'll agree with you in a matter-of-fact tone. He might even clue you in to more of his personality flaws like he's sharing great knowledge with you. Deimos is proud of who he is, flaws and all, because they're what make him unique.
Though his words can be a bitter pill to swallow and seem like total hypocrosy, Deimos can actually give good advice.
