This RP involves
Aracelis Avatre Chandra Kiran Odi Rei
Setting
Avatre met a strange female during her travels. She doesn't remember much of the meeting, for some of the plants they ate had very weird effects over their minds. Something must have happened though, and the Deities took exception, for not even a few days later Avatre discovered she had become pregnant! Now she returns to find the strange female, whoes name she doesn't even know, to discover what is to be done. Can this Daeva handle this insane family?

Avatre grumbled silently to herself, pushing her way through undergrowth and finding herself very conscious of the new weight around her stomach. This of course was the source of her grumblings, and the reason she had winged back to this land and was now stalking about on the ground in search of that strange female she'd met a week or so prior.
Odd as it seemed, Avatre was willing to bet the female was the cause for her discomfort. She couldn't really remember the whole meeting that well, but she knew she hadn't been any kind of intimate with any other foxes since Kairon. She hadn't even been that intimate with Kairon. Though who knew how these same sex pregnancies worked, it was all the doings of the Deities.
She wasn't even sure why she was going back to look for that female. It wasn't like Avatre didn't have friends or family of her own to help her raise the creatures, and Daevas never whelped large broods anyway. Maybe it was just as simple as, if the roles were reversed, Avatre would have liked to have known she was going to be a mother. Even if she'd never had plans to become one and had no intention of getting involved with the kits, she'd want to know.
Avatre shook her head, trying to clear out the annoying thoughts. She had every intention of raising these children, so wasn't that heartless. Aloof and indifferent, maybe, but she had nurturing instincts like most mothers would. Even if she had to do it alone, which she was capable of. But she wouldn't deny the strange female a chance to exercise her own mothering instincts as well, if that was what she wanted. It would have been cruel to do otherwise.

This was a rare occassion for Odi when he wasn't a dangerous killer or a strict father. This was the time when he wasacted like a kit, meaning he was along with his mother. "Mom I swear I tried to find my way back. Its not easy traveling with three kits who questioned if your their father." He sighed as he rolled onto his other side. "Right now I'm just trying to get our lives together." his voice carried the esscence of his tired feelings. Besides Ara it felt like he was trying to play doctor on a seperated body. "I rather you didn't lose track of your path and cause all this strife." Rei voice was still emotionless as ever just like her lack of them. She had yet to meet her grandchildren since they were still dealing with each other like two rival tribes. "I am happy your mate took you back. Without her..." rei's voice trailed off for a moment as a strange memory flashed through her head. Something with a deava and weird plants. She shook it off as a trick of the mind.

Avatre paused in the middle of moving between two trees that seemed to lean towards each other. It wasn't the odd formation of flora that had her halted, though certainly it was interesting enough to warrant a second or two of her attention. What caused the Daeva to stop was a set of voices, one male and female.
The male's voice was completely strange to her, and Avatre instantly dismissed it. The female's....
It might have been that strange female. Really, at this point Avatre wasn't even sure she'd recognized what the normal looked like, let alone sounded like. It was all she had to go on at the moment though, so she began to cautiously creep through the undergrowth towards the sounds. Silently she cursed the forest, too close together for her liking. She wished there was more space for her to manuever her wings if she needed to do so...

Upon hearing no reply from his mother Odi looked curiously at her. Normally she still be scolding him for his trip but she seemed vexed. He pushed himself off the ground and took several steps toward her before stoping and looking around. Their was a strange air that suddenly arrived that he felt before. A type of creeping feeling that something dangerous was coming. He went on high alert and stepped closer to Rei to sheild her from any danger. "Somethings here." He said under his breath as his eyes danced through the woods looking for anything that would give away a predator.
Rei felt it too. She had been around this feeling before in Kana but those foxes were either dead or missing for all she knew. She also knew Odi would happily die to protect his beloved mother from anything and that made her worry or would worry if she had that emotion. "If that's the case then why wait for it to appear?" She said blankly to Odi before pushing past her muscler son to stand closer to the forest. She didn't know fear and that was both a gift and a curse.

Avatre had frozen in a patch of shadow. She dared not moved, for now she was being watched. With an unknown presence she was as good as any for ghosting around the forest floor. It was a trick she'd picked up from looking after her foster sisters, just as was the ability to know she was being observed as well. Like her sisters, her coat was such that if she even twitched while eyes were upon her then she'd be seen.
It was thanks to the shadows alone that she hadn't been spotted already, and movement would give her away.
She didn't have a clear line of sight, not exactly. More foliage was in the way, screening her as well as blocking her vision. All she could get was the impression of possibly two foxes, with very neutrals colors. They were in the sunlight, so even those yellows she thought might be there could be tricks of her eyes...

"Mom..." Odi sighed as he stepped in front of his mother still trying to guard her from whatever was in the woods. She always gave him reason to worry and this didn't help her case. As his eyes looked into the forest he knew something was inside it, just not what creature it might of been.
He was a warrior and knew in this case his best option would be trying to catch the unknown being inside the woods. Atleast that way his mother would be dragged into it. He turned to the side and started to walk into the woods with a plan to loop around and flank the stalker.
Rei watched her son walk into the woods and wondering if he was being brazen or had a plan. Her eyes drifted back to the forest. Already she couldn't make out her boy as he moved into his element. It always made her admire his abilitgy to hide his bright colors in the green forest.

Avatre had been prepared to wait as long as it took for the two foxes to go back to their walking and talking. She was very patient, and the pregnancy had been making her more tired than she was used to. Modifox babies grew so quickly, it took a toll on her body; she had yet to find a comfortable point of compensation to make up for all the babies took from her.
Then all her plans flew out the proverbial window as the male-looking fox split off and vanished into the trees to her side.
Avatre was no fool, born yesterday and naive. She knew stalking when she saw it. Heck, her little sisters had made it into something of an art-form. Game or not didn't matter, stalking was stalking. Since she had no intention of being flushed from her spot, it looked like she was going to have to make a move of her own.
The best point, and most logical, was ahead, towards the female. For one thing, pregnant or not, Avatre was a fighter. Even if the female could fight too, Avatre had a distinct size advantage; two feet in height and that wasn't even taking into account the difference in mass. The female was also in a patch of ground that was fairly open, so if Avatre was disinclined to fight she could just fly away.
The last reason, the one that convinced her, was at least she'd see the female in person and know if it was the one she was looking for...
Plan set in her mind, Avatre gathered her legs, tensed her muscles, then made a sudden, leaping bound forward. Such a ground-eating pace from something so large, she cleared the "treeline" and made it into the more open ground where the female stood in only a few strides. She turned her bronze eyes curiously to the female's face...

As Odi snaked his way through the bushes he decided were dense enough to hide him, his mind was on an entierly different level. Already he was running image after image of how he had attacked different animals and foxes in the past finding ones that matched this situation. And also he could feel his bloodlust attempting to creep over him, but it couldn't. Having raised three foxes on his own he learned great self-control and humility. A lot of humility.
When he finally got close enough to suddenly smell a new presence it made him freeze in place. The scent was that of a fox but it was a unique smell that he learned with his stint in Curor, a daeva. And in his moment of hesitation he heard the bushes in front of him explode to life and he jumped to the side by instinct before the sickly truth oozed over him. The fox was heading straight into his mother's clearing. He quickly sprang into action heading in a dead spring.
Rei didn't have to fight the idea of some predatory animal like her son already decided it was. No, she was wise and knew it could only be a fox. It was always a fox that never makes a move since other predators like bears and wolves wouldn't care for two indivuals. As she saw Avarte bound out of the woods like a specter wanting to come collect a debt she didn't move; she didn't side step, and her breathing didn't even change.
She held her position out of no fear and care of death. To her death would mean nothing. However as the demon approched Rei's keen eyes already picked up her stomach was irregular, and to make matters more strange that pattern jared a strange memory in haze of the female.
"I know you..." she said aloud in her emotionless voice.

Since Avatre hadn't had high hopes this was the female she was looking for, her plans have been to get a quick glimpse just to say she had, while she launched herself into the sky and flew off.
Those plans, like the ones to stay hidden and wait, died as quickly as they sprang up. The tingle of recognition alone would have stopped her, but it was the female's words that cinched it. Even with the sound of her running with no regards to stealth, her ears were keen enough to pick up the words. All Modifoxes shared such hearing, testiment to their large ears.
Unfortunately, since her first plans hadn't involved stopping, Avatre didn't have enough room to halt without bowling over the female. Rather than try, she put on a spurt of speed and lept over the female. The stretch of her muscles made her wince and she had to use her wings to help her get the proper height. She landed with as much grace as she could have wished though, so at least that part went alright.
"'M gettin' soft," she mumbled to herself. "Coulda cleared that jump easy just a week ago." Avatre sighed, then turned herself around the face the female and the inevitable confrontation.

Even Rei was a bit surprised at the sudden jump, although it was only an irrgular blink of her eyes. What really jared her memories was seeing the other vixens stomach when she jumped. She was indeed pregnant and that foggy night was starting to become clearer.
"A week ago indeed..." she mused as she attempted to remeber the daeva's name to no aveil. "If I'm in nmy right state of mind I meet you a week ago...correct?" She asked as another sound hit her ears that made her turn her head to see Odi getting worked up into his blood lust. She quickly steeped in his path with little regard of his want to rip the female to bits.
"Odi stand down now." She ordered a slight firmness in her voice.
The daeva was dead, she was now his prey. Odi wanted her throat in his mouth bleeding. From his point of view she has pounced at his mother but a slight relief showed when he saw the daeva over shot Rei. Although he was in shock when his mother gave him a order. A order? He slid to a stop just a few inches from his mother managing to kick dust all over her and burn the pads of his paws. "Mom wait she-"
"Go bring her a fat hare." "Mom…she..." his voice trailed off as he saw the sudden look of command that crossed his mothers face. He decided now wasn't the time, when the daeva was away from mother was when he spring. Now though he shot her a warning glare and turn his heavy muscles toward the woods.
"pardon him. He's a momma boy."

"Wouldn't know anything about that," Avatre drawled. "My birth parents left me before I hatched, and my foster family wasn't what you'd call "warm and cuddly." Not that there hadn't been genuine affection from her fosters. The mother, though she hadn't wanted to be one, was the one who'd found her and brought her into the family. The father had treated her much like his own. The children had hatched after she did, so for all they knew in the beginning Avatre was their sister.
She gave the female in front of her an appraising look, her face revealing nothing of her inner thoughts. "Your boy has more than a hint of blood lust and battle lust in him," she said in neutral tones, wanting to see how the female responded to the statement.

"Unfortunate." Rei said as she looked off in the direction her youngest...her third youngest child went. "I never had a mother or father. Left alone my half brother raised me. Although we might be taken as strangers from our pattern." She said absently for a moment as she looked the newcommer over. She was indeed a pretty female and as a daeva she gave even Rei a thrill to be near. That would make sense. "I'm sorry to ask you this but what's your name? Mine is Rei."
When Avatre made her statement about Odi no emotion was raised; she only truely had a maternal instinct, why she made such a good teacher. "Its understandable when his father was a bloodlust riddle murder, he was in a tribe fulle of killers, and he was the runt of his litter." She spoke casually remembering how he had to get tough just to survive. "If he wasn't he been dead a long time ago."

((Odi's actually the oldest in the batch lol.))
"I am Avatre," she replied, half her mind on her reply while the other half wandered among her thoughts. Rei's story wasn't an uncommon one among their kind. The vast majority of Modi's out there weren't the best of parents, and abandoning their offspring was a common occurance. Not one she herself intended to repeat, but those things still did happen.
"A tribe of killers," she questioned, raising an eyebrow. "Why would a baby be among a tribe of killers?"

(I always thought his brother was.)
Rei gave a nod of her head as the name bounced around her head as more of that foggy night seemed to come together. She couldn't read if the female was having any remembrances as she was and now a thought started to occur. Who's the partner of the other female.
"Because it's mother was mated to the second most dangerous male in the tribe." She gave a small flick of her hair before nodding at her tail tattoo. "You probably seen his, Kana was it's name. Pretty sure most of those foxes are either dead or mindless somewhere."
