The Forgotten Message

After what would likely feel like an eternity to the two youngest members of the family one of them, Kin, turned to look over at his twins sister Vanna, then asked, "How long do you think it's going to take him to notice that we are sitting right here?" The two of them were sitting in fron of their middle brother, watching him as he worked, but he'd yet to look up from what he was doing, giving zero indication that he even realized that they were present. It was normal for him, for their father as well in fact, as such it was something that they were used to... though it didn't mean that the two of them couldn't help but to wonder how long it was going to take for Bisera to come out of the 'trance' he seemed to be in when he was working.

Vanna tilted her head one way, then the other, seeming to think about it for a moment before she said, "I don't know. It's kind of a toss up when it comes to Bisera. He's difficult to get through to at times but he's no where near as bad as Daddy is." She said, chewing on her lower lip in a thoughtful manner, "Do you think we should actually make him realize we are here?" She asked in a curious manner of her twin. They really did need to talk to him but at the same time it was kind of funny just sitting here, waiting, watching, and having Bisera remain utterly oblivious to the fact that they were so close by. If they wanted they could probably snag all sorts of pretty things right out from under him... though their mother would likely ground them for the rest of their lives for it.

Kin's eyes seemed to sparkle with delight at the question Vanna had posed to him, "Yes, I bet we could easily get through to himl. Alright, prepare yourself Vanna, this should be good!" He said, reaching a hand out slowly and carefully forward toward his unsuspecting brother, paused for a moment as though to give him a chance to save himself. When Bisera said and did nothing Kin's grin only widened before he gave his brother's ear a flick, one that earned him exactly what he was going for as Bisera let out a startled sound, the things he was holding going in all directions as his body jolted from the shock.

As Bisera sat there, eyes wide, his heart racing a mile a minutes, the two younglings burst out laughing, Vanna even tipping over to one side, arms wrapped around her middle due to laughing so hard. Giving a bit of a sighing sound he moved to gather up all of tools and materials that he'd all but thrown when his brother decided that startling him was the best way to go about things. Of course as he gathered his things, the twins' laughter filling his ears, he found himself wondering exactly how long they had been sitting in front of him before Kin decided to flick him like that.

Even as he tried to figure it out he came to the fast conclusion that he couldn't really say. Truth be told he'd been so wrapped up in what he'd been doing, working on getting some thin metal wire he'd gotten from his father twisted into just the right shape, that he hadn't noticed. As their mother always said a herd of capramel could go racing passed him and he still wouldn't look up if he was in the middle of something. As such why would he notice if his siblings were sitting quietly whilst starring? After picking up the piece he'd been working on, blowing off the dirt that now clung to it, making sure that it was still intact. Only once he was sure it was fine did he look up at the twins who seemed to have composed themselves at long last and asked, "What is it? Did you need something?"

The pair seemed to think on it, exchanging questioning looks with each other, before both of them finally shrugged in sync with one another and Kin said, "Dunno! Maybe a while ago when we first came in here but now... now I can't really say that I remember why we came to bother you." He sounded rather amused about that, but then again Bisera couldn't find it in him to be upset. They were younglings after all, they had short attention spans when it came to most things.

Vanna seemed to be trying to figure it out as well, "Hmm... I know that it was something... but what? What was it that we can here to tell Bisera?" She asked of her twin, seeming as though she were really trying to figure it out but just couldn't. It was there, in the back of her mind, but was completely forgotten after seeing Kin startle Bisera in such a spectacular manner.

Bisera sighed again before he asked, "Do you think it was important? Were you just coming to bother me because you were bored? Did you need help with something?" He hoped by asking them such questions that maybe it would spark something and they would recall why exactly it was that they had gone out of their way to find him? It didn't seem as though they were bringing him dinner, so it couldn't be that it was time to eat. It had to be something else.

The two seemed to fall into deep through, attempting to figure out just what it was that they wanted him for. As such his gaze dropped once more to the piece in his hand, starring at it. Maybe a bit more work on it while they tried to figure out exactly what it was that they needed? Knowing them it could take them some time to remember why they were here meaning he could make more headway, bending wire into just the right shape was a very involved and sometime tedious task. So much time went into this sort of work, especially given he was still learning it, more so then anyone would ever realize his father had once told him.

He was just about to fall completely into his 'at work' trance when he heard his name, as well as the names of the twins, said by the one voice that had all three of them quickly looking toward the door where their mother stood, starring them down with her one good eye, the other hidden behind a decorative eye patch. The woman's expression was one that didn't appear too amused and it was right then the twins snapped their fingers and both said in sync, "Oh! Right! Momma was wanting you!" They said, pushing to their feet, and went running out of the room to leave Bisera sitting there, eyes wide.

"I... umm..." He shook his head, he had nothing, meaning that there was nothing he could really say or do at this point save for point an accusing finger at the twins. Not something he'd really do though, his own fault for having distracted them so much.

The woman gave a sigh, then shook her head, "No 'umms' Bisera, it's time that you to clean up, it's almost dinner time. Bad enough I needed to drag your father out by his ear... next time I think I will sic Nisha on you both." She muttered half to herself before she started out of the room, pausing at the door, and looked back, "Don't make me come back up here, that means put it all away, don't get dragged back into your project. Got it?" She gave him a stern look, to make sure to get her point around, then gave him a smile before heading out the door, leaving Bisera alone so he could get ready for dinner.

Dinner Time

Bisera sat there a long moment after his mother had left the room, his deep blue eyes drawn back to the piece he was holding. He was ever so tempted by it, as though it were silently calling out to him, but forced himself to put it away, "You're a pretty piece but not pretty enough to get on her bad side. I'll work on you more later, probably after dinner." If nothing else going to dinner would give his hands a break, something he would be grateful for later. Bending wire was a task that could leave one's hands aching, and a break wouldn't kill him. It would be difficult for sure but not life threatening. With that thought in mind he forced himself to pick everything up, replacing it all in the packs at waist, before he hurried to get ready for dinner.

Best that he tried to get there as quickly as possible, not wanting to be the last one to dinner if possible, not when rumor had it his older brothers might be here for dinner tonight. The last thing Bisera wanted was to give those two any more ammunition to use against him, best that he was careful instead, at least until they went back to doing... well, whatever 'brave hero stuff' they felt like doing next that they would then rub in his face.

Due to these thoughts alone when Bisera himself got to where the others were gathered for dinner in record time, though upon arrival he found his older brothers missing from the table. As bad as it made him feel he couldn't help but to feel relieved at their absence. It wasn't that he disliked them per say, he just couldn't deal with them on their best days, not when their best days were full of their bragging about their various feats. With the war over they were sure to only be that much more full of themselves and it was just not something that he wanted to deal with any time soon. Bisera knew it would be something he'd be forced to put up with, he'd been dealing with it since he decided to follow in their father's footsteps, but it didn't mean that he had to like it.

Settling down in his seat next to his father he gave the man a smile said, "Sorry for being a little late, got caught in a project using that wire you made for me." He said, glancing at Kin and Vanna who lifted their hands to smother giggles, something that had him shaking his head before he turned back to the table, digging into the meal laid out before him. Better to blame it on his project instead of blaming the twins, not wanting them to get in any trouble because of him.

Torin gave a chuckle, "It's quite alright Bisera, even if your mother is giving the look that says she is unamused I can tell that she is glad that we are all here for dinner for once." The man gave his wife a smile, and set to eating as well, "It's as delicious as always, darling." He cooed at her, something that caused the woman to give a bit of a snort.

"You're always quick with the compliments when you think that you're in trouble Torin. I will allow it though." She told him, never one to turn down a compliment even though she knew it was her husband's way to digging himself out of a hole that he may or may not have found himself in. As it were he was, to a degree at least, correct in his assumption about her being happy to have them all gathered for dinner, "A shame that my oldest two didn't make it but they should be here tomorrow according to the message that they sent ahead. They are a little behind schedule is all. I can't wait to hear more about what happened over there and what is going on with those Oban invaders." She'd of fought them herself it were for the fact that she was positive the house probably would have been a smoldering pile of rubble by the time she got back. She just couldn't leave her family alone, not when Torin and Bisera were the oldest ones left in the house as well as the least reliable.

Nisha looked up from her plate and said, "Who cares about the boys, they come back to visit enough as it is. I want Alanor to come back to visit! She can even bring that Leaf guy with her if she wants. I mean we should probably meet the guy if the two of them are getting married, right?" Something that caused Torin to give a nod of agreement. It was well known that both Torin and Alvida wanted to meet with the boy that was going to be marrying their oldest daughter, preferably before they were actually married with children on the way. The letters they got from Alanor said she'd be bringing him to meet them 'soon' but an exact date and time had yet to be determined.

"Agreed, let's hope she brings him back here soon or else I am going to have to go to Tale myself and drag the pair of them back here." Alvida said, using a tone that had the twins giggling again, as though both of them were more then eager to see that happen.

It took everything that Bisera had to keep from cheering when he was told that Roshan and Liorin weren't going to be home tonight. Even more so when talk moved on from them to his eldest sister, much preferring talk of her and the man she'd decided to marry from outside their tribe. Not the nicest things to have go through his head, not when the two were his brothers, but it was worth celebrating in his head. So long as that celebration was a silent, private one, "I think I'd like to meet the guy too, see what poor sap got hooked by Alanor." He said, causing another round of giggles to erupt from the twins before he was back to eating his own meal. Were his sister here she might very well pummel him for the comment but since she was in Tale he felt he should be safe.

Alvida waved a hand at her family, to get them back in line, gave Bisera a look, and soon enough everyone fell into silence as they worked on cleaning their plates of the food on them. There would be plenty more time later to talk about the members of the family who were missing, for now it was time to eat.

Monster Invasion

Bisera was sitting on the floor of his room, legs crossed, working on stringing some hand made beads together in a pretty pattern. The beads were a little rough, Bisera was still learning from his father after all, but he still felt that the ones he made were nice enough to offer to his siblings. Well, the younger ones at least, he didn't really dare to offer up his work to his older siblings, his brothers especially as they didn't really accept what he was hoping to do with his life. He was working on trying to sharpen skills, to get them to the point where he might be able to impress even his brothers, but for the time being he was no where near that. He was sure it would take years before he was anywhere near that skill level, but he'd keep trying.

He wanted to try to get this particular piece done in time for dinner, so that he could show his parents when they got back. He might be able to do it, provided he had enough beads to complete the pattern that he'd decided upon in his head. He was about a quarter of the way through the piece when a sound reached him despite the fact that he was normally quite oblivious, that being the sound of... screaming? He blinked a couple times, looking from side to side, confused, "Huh?" What were his siblings doing?

A moment later all three of them, Nisha first, followed by the twins Vanna and Kin, came rushing in with the lot of them yelling at once. It was a jumble of words that had his eyes going that much wider, making hi look that much more confused, as they talked about a 'monster' that was in the yard. Apparently, since he was the oldest, it was up to Bisera to go outside and vanquish the monster, something that he wasn't quite sure about. Did he really want to go outside and face off with a monster? He supposed that it sort of had to given that their mother wasn't here, meaning that someone had to go and see what was outside.

"I... guess I can go look." He said after a moment, setting to work picking up his mess of beads and tools, not wanting to leave his things laying around while he went to deal with a... monster. He didn't really sound all that certain of the idea though, something that his siblings were able to hear, something that made them giggle a bit. It seemed that Bisera and all of his not to heroic glory was quite amusing to them, something he would let slide since at least Roshan and Liorin weren't around to make things worse given that they were rather heroic.

Bisera sighed, "What? You know I am not a warrior like mom or the twins are, I am... not certain about facing off against a monster but I will do my best. So what does it look like? How big is it?" He asked as they started toward the front door. Nisha was leading the way while Vanna and Kin were hanging off of his arms, tugging on them in an attempt to get Bisera to move faster.

"It was really, really big!" Kin said as he yanked on Bisera's arm, his eyes wide, his expression one of excitement instead of fear.

"It wasn't that big." Nisha corrected Kin, giving a shake of her head, not wanting Bisera to get scared off because he thought that there was something 'really, really big' outside in the yard when it wasn't quite as big as all of that.

"It was pink!" Vanna squealed, sounding as though it was the best thing ever that the 'monster' was the color pink. Now that sounded far less likely then creature being as big as Kin made it out to be so Bisera turned to look over to Nisha to get the real information about what the thing was colored like.

Nisha starred at him a moment, sighed, and said, "It... actually really is pink." She sounded as though admitting that wasn't easy to do, "You're not allowed to suddenly think we are lying thought just because the weird thing is pink!" She told Bisera, her voice similar to the tone their mother used when she wasn't playing around, which caused Bisera to nod rapidly just to placate her.

"I will see the thing soon enough. So really, really big but not really that big, and it's pink." He said as they headed out the front door, with him getting pulled along to where the 'monster' was located, stuck to the side of their house. Bisera stood there for a long moment just starring at the weird looking thing before he finally said, "Yeah... that's definitely pink... and a lit bigger then I thought it might be." In fact if the thing were to stretch out he was certain it was as long as his leg. He starred a moment longer, with the twins hanging off his arms, before he said, "It... would almost be scary if it wasn't pink." Hard to be scary when it was that color though.

Once he was able to get the twins to let go of his arms he moved forward, slowly and cautiously, toward the pink creature and reached a hand out to it, giving it a poke. Much to his surprise it didn't run, instead it merely turned to stare at him with its big blue eyes. He starred back a moment before he said, "Well... it doesn't seem like it's scared of us, nor does it seem mean exactly." He told the trio before reaching out again, catching hold of the creature, and peel it off the wall. It squirmed around a bit but didn't really seem all that eager to run away or fight, "It seems calm too, maybe it's someone's pet?"

Words that seemed to translate to 'come play with it' because a moment alter the twins were taking the pink creature from him, cooing over it, before carrying it in the house. Bisera's eyes went wide before he looked at Nisha, "That... wasn't what I meant to happen..."

Nisha gave a bit of a chuckle, "Yeah, but still, good luck explaining to mom and dad why the pink monster is in the house." She said, patting her brother on the arm before heading inside as well, wondering what the twins were planning to do with the 'monster' that Bisera had deemed safe.

Lifting his hands Bisera set to rubbing his temples for a moment before following everyone else back in the house. He'd have to figure out what to do about that creature later, for now it was best to just watch it and sure it was well behaved. Maybe if it turned out to be a calm, well behaved sort of pet his parents wouldn't be as upset at it being brought inside. At least that was what he hoped anyway.

Visiting Brothers

Bisera came into the house, a bag full of new materials slung over his shoulder, and Gemma stuck to his back. He'd spent the day gathering and cleaning the materials before bringing them home and now that he was here he meant to arrange them before he started to work on some design sketches. It would be a busy but enjoyable day... or at least that was the plan before he found himself standing face to face with Roshan, his oldest brother, and he instantly took a couple stumbling steps backwards, "R-Roshan... I didn't know that you were coming home..." He said, a bit thrown off by the appearance of man. He was the sort that could intimidate anyone with a stare, but Bisera, Roshan barely even had to look at him to throw the young jeweler in training off his game.

If anything he really wanted to turn around on his heel so that he could flee from Roshan... though before he had the chance to do so Roshan had hold of his wrist, dragging him away from the door, "Don't attempt to flee from me, Bisera, not when you really should at least greet your older brothers when they come to visit. It's by our blood, sweat, and tears that you're allowed to play around in the dirt."

Insulting words that caused Bisera to go stock still, a shiver going up his spine, and there was that desire to protest... but the words never came. He really wasn't the sort that could stand up to Roshan or Liorin, meaning that he merely said, "Welcome home, Roshan, is Liorin with you?" Best to greet his brother, it might put him in a better mood, or so Bisera hoped. Roshan in a better mood was slightly less intimidating then an angry one was.

The bigger male released his little brother, "That's better. Yes, Liorin is with me, we are on a short vacation from our training and figured that we should come home. Answering your earlier comment about not knowing about our visit. Not as though such breaks are planned, we merely come home to visit when we are able." He gave Bisera a once over, then said, "Mother is quite excited over the visit, she's even making a special dinner to welcome us. Do try to make an appearance instead of hiding in your room this time?" With that Roshan was walking away from him, toward the common room of the house were Bisera could hear a lot of chatter from his various family members who had gathered there. He gave a little sigh, then turned to head toward the room, wanting to drop his things off.

After he closed the door behind himself he released a shaky breath, "Geez, just seeing either of those two always make me feel like a youngling again. I know it sounds bad but I hope that their vacation isn't too long." It was a feeling that he rather hated, being treated like a child, feeling like a child, and then having to deal with those feelings afterwards. His older brothers, as well as his older sister, had all followed their mother down the path of fighters. Bisera was the first of the family that wanted to be like their more timid father, meaning that the others had protested. At least the twins did tht was, where as his older sister had been like his mother, more understanding, allowing him to do what he wanted. Bisera had never wanted to fight with others, wanting instead to leave that sort of thing to people who were more skilled at such things. His mother, his older siblings, they could do that sort of thing but it just wasn't for him.

Walking over to his bed he dropped his pack on his bed, then turned to look over at Gemma who was perched on his shoulder. He lifted a hand to scratch her under the chin, "Best that we spend time with the family, though you know what that means." It meant that Gemma was going to be snatched up and played with by his youngest siblings. Something that she seemed to tolerate, even when they tied all manner of things around her to pretty her up like ribbons or simple jewelry that Bisera or their father made and gave to Nisha and Vanna.

After giving his bag a final glance, knowing that he had to put everything aside for now, Bisera headed out of his room. So much for the plans that he had but his older brothers would never let him live it down if he didn't go hang out with the family. Heading down the hallway he listened to the sounds of his family members talking. The voices of Roshan and Liorin seemed to be first and foremost as they spoke of the training they'd been doing, where they'd been, where they were heading, and the like. The younger three were asking lots of questions, things that Bisera wished he could ask. They seemed to enjoy them being home, wanted them to stay longer, to stay forever from the sounds of it. Bisera wanted the same in theory, because that meant that they were safe, but he couldn't spend a lot of time with them.

The moment that the youngest pair noticed Bisera standing in the doorway they got up, rushing over to him, and moments later the alol was taken away from him. He watched as the pair of them carried her off, showing the brightly colored creature off to the older twins. The two of them squealed about how amazing she was, how pretty, how they loved to dress her up, and the like. Bisera watched for a moment before he moved to sit next to their father who, while present, was sketching in the journal that he had open on his lap. Bisera gave the sketches a peek, then smiled, "They look nice." He complimented the pretty sketches before looking toward the others once more.

He hadn't thought about bring a journal with him, proving that his father was a bit more on the ball then him. It was one of those ideas that he'd keep in mind for later though, especially if the pair meant to be here for a while.
