Jess glanced around and narrowed in at the other freshling at the snack table who was cowering from a cockatriel. She grinned sharply, sauntering over, and place the bucket down. Can’t bring this, to clunky. She reached the table and attempted to stuff an enchanted snowball down the back of his shirt with one hand while reaching for a mug of hot chocolate with another.
She was totally going to pay this cool and collected and get away with it! She let go of the snowball fully and used the other to support her chosen mug. Totally didn’t do a thing.
Myreth hadn’t bothered to dress overly warm, covered in insulating fur as she was. Instead she had tossed on a supportive shirt and a pair of black slacks and just went. It was in full swing and she picked out a stocking halfheartedly to toss things into. The kidden plushie was accepted with more grace. It was just so adorable. But the bucket of ammo…
Yes. Myreth picked one up and glanced around. Ahh! Target found! She dropped her other goodies pushing them to the side and grinned brightly at the other nightmare before tossing a snow ball at the other’s stomach. Let’s start a war. Snow ball fight go.
Sanlen grinned as their sister returned with two mugs of hot cocoa! They followed Fiammetta to the tables and clambered up, pressing up close to the older chimera. Sanlen accepted their purple mug and sipped the rich drink slowly, giggling as some marshmallows floating on the top nearly bumped their nose. They wiped their face with a hand, reaching to poke the swelling mini marshmallows with a claw tip watching them sink and pop up.
It was good and they got to spend time with Fiammetta which was awesome. Sanlen swished their tail, the little tuff so unlike their big sibling spikes as they finished their hot chocolate.
Roll for Fiammetta Fia passed down the second hot cocoa mug to her newest sibling. Sanlen had been adopted into the clan after some studious genealogy and while they were really third cousins once removed by marriage, Sanlen was now their tiny adopted sib.
And damn cute. Fia drank her own hot chocolate, smiling faintly as Sanlen played with theirs and well, it was a party. She wasn’t going to tell Sanlen to stop unless they were going to spill. She continued to drink her treat, relaxed and glancing around. Hmm, looks like a nice crowd this time around. Maybe she could meet someone.
Rayleigh paused in his browsing of the book when a different librarian, there seemed to be a few of them in the party, because they weren’t the first one that gave him the book, appeared and handed him another. Which he took because one couldn’t have too many book and he was polite and after he read the first one he was going to need something to do afterwards.
The Halfling…. Didn’t they make a popular movie on this one? And the books were so much better then the movies. Movies forgot things or left them out. Or needed to make things more socially acceptable.
Red forgot she was at a event. She was so distracted at her new friend. Then she remembered that she was hungry when she smelled peppermint. He she remembered that she did see anything near her with peppermint. She she looked next to her and a big peppermint was cuddling next to her. She grabbed it with both hand and it moved. She jumped and started to laught. It was a familiar! She was happy and she gave it a kiss on the nose” I guess you want to join me and my friend.”
Lilly ignored Birkita's protest, petting her new familiar. She was so excited for Ankylo to meet this new one. "You will be... hmmm... Tyran!" she decided. She was going to continue naming her familiar after dinosaurs, she decided.
And then, she turned her gaze expectantly towards Birkita, while Tyran ran off. When the spectrefox came back, there was a blue and black bracelet in Tyran's mouth and a companion. Another spectrefox! Oh, she was so lucky to have so many familiars now! She patted the new spectrefox, happy that her first fox had a friend. She hoped Birkita wouldn’t mind the extra roommates!
"Fine!" she snapped, before staring at the blue spectrefox who carefully put her book away into her bag. "You're Duke, then," she mumbled before reluctantly petting her own spectrefox as they nuzzled into her side.
Then the fox went off and came back with a book, carefully placing that in her stocking too. Birkita caught a glimpse of Island of Treasure. Well, the fox wasn’t completely useless. Birkita wondered how the fox knew what her preferences were. It was strange. Perhaps she could observe the creature for a little bit and figure it out. Sighing, she decided to pat the fox’s head. It gave her a guarded look; obviously, it felt the same way as her about affection.
Sisal got distracted at a freshling standing in front of a makeshift station. It looked like a game. A beanbag toss. There were some pretty nice prizes in it. Some plushies looked rather interesting. Perhaps… he should give it a try. Wandering over to it, he smiled at the freshling before picking up a small bucket of hacky sacks. He was told the rules of the game and nodded, before tossing the first one, aiming for the bullseye platform.
He missed the first one, and the second. The third, he got right next to the bullseye but not quite. The fourth and the fifth, he missed. He was done. The freshling handed over a bundle of candycanes.
Vega wandered around the room for a moment longer, smiling happily. The place was a blast. There were people everywhere. There were gifts everywhere. There were decorations everywhere. It was fantastic.
A small game was set up. A beanbag toss. She tried it, missing all of them. Every single one. Rubbing the back of her head, she laughed. Well, it was still fun. Walking away, she almost went onto the next table… but a freshling rushed after her and handed her a bag of sweets. Peppermints. Surprised, she thanked the young girl and grinned. A consolation wasn’t so bad, especially if it was candy!
20, 17, 14, 13 'oi you know she is my friend to. don't hog her' Salem stated. Samhaim looked over to the side and barely refrained the urge to roll his eyes. After all he was actually with some one now and he didn't want Nashira to think it was something she had said. "Yes all the time. As he would say I find affront to practically everything that comes out of his mouth" Samhain answered. he ignored the 'well you do' from salem. "On the other note, no I add to the clutter as well. Went to a lot of festivals over the years and Rune's mother would be Lace." It was about then that the waiter walked by and handed samhain a cookie. The hybrid wondered why Nashira hadnt been handed one. of course before he could put it away a blue blur tried to go for it but he quickly caught the flitterat and held it up to his face. 'oi thats mine" was the intelligent response. The flitterat just wiggled out of his grasp and skittered up his arm to his shoulder. Well it would have friends at least. -------------------------------------------------- Leto made an interesting hum, although he wasn't really aware he had made the noise. He thought over what he had said to vega and what vega had replied with. was he mean enough to ask.... yes he was definitely mean enough. Actually he was cruel enough to do more. Maybe he was reading things he shouldn't but no matter how he sounded like, you just didn't get that flustered and try to cover your tracks with the like Vega was trying to make Leto believe he meant. So there was only one thing to do. If Leto had read it wrong, well then Leto would just blame the pain meds. "Oh yes I am" he said in a slightly accented voice that was still filled with a tiny bit of teasing charm and with that decided, he probably did one of the few spontaneous things in his life and reached forward to kiss Vega, deciding that it probably wouldnt be best to be completely forward and settled at the last second for kissing his nose. "veeerrrry cruel indeed. So was it that like?" -------------------------------------------------------- Jin took a look at them again and raised an eyebrow. Older siblings were just so weird. Never mind that out of her batch she would be the oldest sibling. Still Sphinx hadnt asked for a raised eyebrow and Jin knew that she would have to answer. "More I think Leto has Vega under control. However I dont think we should escape too far. you know how Leto gets even if he has been seriously hinting we should ditch them." was her answer as she watched Totetsu calmly sniff back and allow any petting that was to occur. ------------------------------------------------ "Well haunted hallows had a ton more security but every thing seems to be healing. It definitely made us all appreciate our festivals and the people in them I think, or at least I would like to think so. I could just be hella naive about the whole thing" she admitted sheepishly and rubbed the back of her head. of course that meant it was game for some one to hand her another plushie and she had to shake her head and laugh. "I swear it has to be this bench. Maybe its charmed somehow"
Miu The offer of sharing treats seemed to placate the little flitterat. Miu smiled and tipped her head to the side to gently nuzzle the little familiar. "You sure are a cuttie too." She said to it before breaking off a tiny bit of cookie and handed it to her familiar. The rest she would save for later.
Sphinx Sphinx watched her brother and Vega for a moment as she gently pet her sister's familiar, then sighed. "Well, at least Leto actually looks happy... Even if they look like they're being gross." She made a face as her brother leaned in and kissed Vega's nose. "Bleh." Just as she said that, something came up behind her and bumped into her. "Geh? Hey!" She turned around and saw a friggen ADORABLE kidden standing there staring at her. "oh gosh! JIN! JIN! Look at it's little crown! Hello cuttie! Oh goodness!" Was this... her familiar? Had it come and chosen her? She slowly put her arms around the little goat and hugged it. While she was hugging the goat, someone handed her a cookie, mumbling something about how the kidden didn't mean to hurt her or something and the cookie was an apology. Sphinx only half heard them.
Vega He had expected that answer. Leto was indeed mean enough to ask... and Vega had... actually wanted him to. But at the same time he was terrified of the fact that he had set himself up like that. What if Leto...
Wait.
Wait a second.
What was he doing? Vega blinked several times in surprise as Leto placed a teasing kiss to the tip of his nose. His blue eyes were wide and he was stunned. Leto... kissed his nose. Did that... Did Leto...? Vega stared into Leto's eyes, even as the other had asked him a question. After a second, he leaned in close. The best answer he could give Leto didn't involve words. Vega kissed the hybrid. It wasn't a movie-perfect kiss by any means. Vega had no clue what he was really doing and awkwardly pressed his lips against Leto's in an unpracticed, though sweet, kiss. Oh... Oh damn. This was his first kiss. Vega blushed harder as he pulled away. All he could do was stare at Leto a moment before he could even hope to find his voice.
"Yes... it was..." His voice was very soft and insecure, even if Leto couldn't hear it, but his body language spoke volumes as he sort of curled in on himself, hugging himself with one arm, and finding himself unable to make direct eye contact with Leto. What if Leto didn't like him like that back?
Asher Asher wandered around a bit more, looking for someone else to talk to. He was surprised he didn't know many people here. He did, however, spot a familiar grimm. Miu looked like she was having fun, and she had a little flitterat on her shoulder! How cute! Asher debated gong to say hi.
Nashira "Lace." She repeated the name, hoping to remember it. "I'll do my best to remember that. I would like to meet her someday, and your children. I will bring cookies so they will be even more energetic when I leave." She smiled, much more genuinely then she had been previously. She was happy to be talking with Samhain (And possibly Salem?). She liked them both. "Salem is quite different then you are. But he is charming as well, in his own way." She nodded. She thought it would be fun if she could be around them enough to know who was in control without them having to tell her. "Hm? Oh, what a cute flitterat. You know, I have not seen as many familiars around here as I have other years." She observed. Why, the last festival she was at, she could have sworn she had about 20 familiars by the time she had gone home. She had only met two here. Not that she minded. She loved specterfoxes.
Nivasi "Well, you can be naive about it, and I will be ignorant. I haven't been here long so I'm still trying to figure things out." He shrugged, then laughed when Oran was handed another plushie. "Maybe it is. Or maybe they just like handing them to cute girls." He pondered out loud.
someone came around the festival and handed out antlers. Red was excited and put her own. Rowena and Tania thought it was cute so they put there on too.
Kean started to look around to see where they could go next. He had seen pretty much everything already, and his sister had been letting him lead the way so far, which he was glad for, but it also made it a bit hard for him to decide on what to do until he saw it. If there was one thing his sister did, it was helping him keep focused, at least a bit more than usual. While Kean seemed to lose focus easily, Qilanna seemed to focus almost too much sometimes, to the point where she lost track of what time it was and when she had last eaten.
They were opposites but they worked well together.
He looked over at the trinket table, and decided that they could share some sort of treat together, since he had put all of his candy in his dorm room. He hoped that his nezubat and flitterat weren't eating them.
He tugged on Qilanna's arm again. "Sissy, they have bark over at the trinket table! You want some! Though they only have chocolate peppermint and peanut butter." It would have been better if they had plain chocolate too, or perhaps some caramel chocolate. But chocolate peppermint would be good too.

Talia finally tried to sip her hot chocolate. She had already had a mug-full before, but she was only now getting to her second one! She took a sip, and it was still warm! That was nice. It had apparently cooled off enough to where she didn't have to blow on it now! As she was starting to sip at it though, a vendor holding a tray of cookies came by the table. Talia quickly spotted it, and she felt her stomach rumbling a bit. She hadn't had one of those yet!
She politely asked for one, and the vendor gladly gave it to her, before they moved on her way. It was a key cookie which was orange like her! She snapped it into two, separating the top from the teeth. She ate the top half, quietly enjoying it while sipping at her hot chocolate too. However, before she could reach for the teeth half of it, a bushy tail was suddenly in her sight, and then, the other half of her cookie was gone! She saw another fennekit happily munching on it!
She was more surprised at there being another fennekit rather than her cookie being stolen! Soon the orange fennekit was done though, and quietly moved under the table, joining her other two fennekits on their 'pillow', and fell asleep with them. It seemed as though the fennekit had decided to join her and her small fennekit collection that she was now creating!
Talia's Stuff:
Lailah finished off her mug of hot cocoa, and asked for a refill, thanking the teacher when they refilled it for her. It was nice, this celebration, seeing so many gathered here and getting so many new things. Lailah didn't need too much, though she had gotten a lot. After all, 5 plushes and a jackalope was a lot! Hopefully the plushes would be good for snuggling though as she did her homework or read a bit.
She almost wished that they were giving out school supplies, as she often lost hers. Some pencils or notebooks would have been nice, but she supposed that quite a few were wanting to forget about schoolwork rather than prepare for it. She didn't mind schoolwork, but she tended to get distracted quite a bit.
Notebooks would have been nice though. She thought, breathing on her hot cocoa a bit to cool it down.

Qilanna allowed her brother to lead her over to the trinket table. Something to snack on might be good right now, though she would make sure that the bark was shared evenly, and she would be keeping it with her rather than letting her brother or her vespercat get a hold of it. The vespercat, seemingly knowing what she was thinking, looked at her with a twinkle of mischievous in it's eye. She would definitely have to make sure her supplies were properly put away would have to babyproof her furniture.
They got over to the trinket table, and she quickly located the peppermint bark and grabbed a bag, opening it up and giving her brother one of the pieces to eat. "Here you go Kean!" She replied, before taking a piece of her own to eat, sealing the bag, and putting it inside of her stocking.
