12/8/2010 - Everyone's entry was so good that SiSi couldn't decide so she had a raffle and Eve won.  Osiyo everyone. Tasunke here! Do you and your soquili CRAVE the spotlight? If so, then enter the "All About Me Contest" where you could be the 100% spotlight for December.
"How does that work?", you must be wondering.. well, I'll tell you! This special contest gives you a chance to win the spotlights of Female pet, Male pet, teepee, AND you can hand pick some of your soquili and familiars to grace the top and bottom panels of the first post.
This contest ends on Sunday, November 28th at 7 pm CST! A team of judges will look through all the smexy entries and decide on a winner with the best RP skills, teepee and soquili rolled up in one delicious package!

Why should she get the spotlight?: Although it can be quite hard to get RP for Skinwalkers as most don't like their pets getting injured or eyed up for dinner, I have never given up on Kimi and now she is getting closer to 100% stats. She has developed as a character, and is so much fun to RP that when I feel a little vindictive I like to get her out to hiss and play. In Kimi's mind she is the big bad beasty from your nightmares, but in reality she goes hungry more than fed; her entire existence reduced to nothing more than bloodlust and eating small animals. She has a fear of stallions but that still doesn’t prevent her from trying to eat them if given the chance. I adore the fact that she is not a happy sunny character, and although she is bad to the bone, she can see the happiness around her... she simply wants to eradicate it from existence for being vial, wrong and against her nature!

Why should he get the spotlight?: Shalar is still developing and coming to terms with who and what he is, but beyond his often stoic exterior beats a heart of gold, despite his fear of a darkness growing within him. He is a very special character to me, and unlike some of my others he is neither full of sunshine or darkness but a quiet mixture of both making him interesting to RP. It is a lot of fun to play him, and with all his twists and turns he surprises even me at times! My goal for Shalar is to one day have him slip on his control and recognise that the darkness within him is actually within everyone, it is how you use it that defines you. Would also be nice for him to get a spotlight since his sister is the female spotlight for this month (Nienna).

Why should your teepee get the spotlight?: Although my teepee is organised slightly differently to a lot of them out there, I still feel it deserves some appreciation. It is well organised and up to date with information about each soquili and familiar, links to breeding and co-ownership agreements are also at hand should anyone need to find them quickly. Outside of the first page the rest are dedicated to the RPs each soquili participates in, so as my teepee grows the number of RPs they are taking part in also grows. My current goal is to get all of my soquili to 100% stats and although I have experienced some gaps due to real life issues it is nice to see that a group of them have reached and are close to reaching this goal.
Why do you deserve the full spotlight?: I love soquili, and it would be such an honour to get some love for my herd and teepee. I love each and every one of my characters so much that it was near impossible to pick just two of them to be scrutinised for this opportunity, I have always aimed to have a diverse collection of personalities and stories providing interesting plots and roleplays for each of them. When it comes to those soquili that are closest to my heart I know I am fussy about what happens to them, but this is done solely out of love for them... and each day my love for them grows and grows. It is my current goal to get all of my soquili to 100% because I feel they all deserve to have attention and love, even after they reach that goal I will continue to RP and love them *pokes Maion* and for one particular special soquili, I hope to one day be able to say that Maion has what it takes to become an elder. I'll never give up! I love my herd so much that I have an extensive collection of art that is also growing by the day. Album (Guest PSWD: soquili). However, in many ways I do not want the spotlight for myself but for my soquili who have had to put up with me and my disappearances every now and then due to real life, they have been loyal and ever caring and are generally just awesome, they are my little escape and surrounding them I have made some great friends and a virtual family!

Why should she get the spotlight?: I have sadly dragged Vidia through trials and tribulations left and right simply to develop her into a strong individual. While the rest of the Soquili her age have had their happily-ever-afters and families, she stands alone in her own world of pain because she is a plain half-wind. She was my first baby from Ever Sacrifice and Tawali and so she has a very special place in my heart even though I have caused her more pain than any other Soquili should endure.
Currently, she is away from the Soquili lands learning to be a Medicine Horse and will return with her mentor in tow to make amends with those she feels she has wronged and to see if she has healed enough. Afterwards, I am hoping to begin entering for Eldership.

Why should he get the spotlight?: Myrddin is my second conflicting Soquili who shows the true lofty attitude that has been associated with Kalonas and Dragons alike. While he exhibits threatening interaction with anything less than a Kalona, he does have a deep knowledge that he is happy to share with his kind. Because of how extreme Myrddin behaves, he is an absolute thrill to play and I do not see him changing his ways in the future, which makes him a very stable confrontation.
Aside from his interactions with others, Myrddin is very special to me simply because I commissioned him as an honor to my living father. When dungeons and dragons was popular in the 1970s, my father played a mage called Merlin who used an amulet of taming on a red dragon. The true name of the dragon has been lost, but the idea still remains. Myrddin is the alternate name for Merlin and his amulet of taming has my father's birthstone inside. While the magic of the amulet is broken, the story of the mage who tamed a red dragon is fresh in my mind every time I see this dragon-kalona.

Why should your teepee get the spotlight?: Though I have been absent in the last year and face multitudes of hiatuses due to real life, I try to keep my teepee as up-to-date and as organized as my mind can handle. This is my third teepee created, but the format and organization has stayed the same.
Why do you deserve the full spotlight?: As I found my nitch in the Soquili community, I have learned that it is not about how many you own, who you breed with, or even how many roleplays you put in a month. The underlining love about Soquili is for horse-lovers alike and the enjoyment of storytelling. I am more focused on storylines than expanding my herd number and giving the community something they can read, enjoy, and even want to be part of the action. I wouldn't have had my Soquili the way they are today if it was not for Epine de Rose, Uta, Celeanor, and Cajmera who were the start of endless plots and adventures that I desperately wanted to be connected with. And that's the true reason behind Soquili and I hope that I can shine with them and be a reminder to others and not some entity of days past.

Why should she get the spotlight?: Samsara has always been an interesting soquili character. She inherited not only her father's kalona bloodline but also the insecurities and uncertainties that came with it. From an early age Samsara was very conflicted. Though she was raised to be gentle and kind, her estranged sister took it upon herself to teach the young Samsara to hunt and to obey the callings of her kalona blood. Samsara has always had to keep this relationship with her sister and the blood cravings a secret from her family, fearing that they would not understand. Even as her father, the elder Hayagriva, made his journey to be at peace with his kalona blood, Samsara slipped further and further away. She is easily one of my most complex soquili. Will she follow in her father's footsteps and overcome her tainted bloodline... or will she follow her sister and slip into the darkness? For now Samsara is torn between those two fates, and it is still uncertain which one she will fall to...

Why should he get the spotlight?: As a celebration for him attaining elderdom! But besides that, Haya is a rich and well-developed soquili that has many years of RP and character building under his belt. He's made his fair share of mistakes, including losing a daughter and getting a bit too close to kalonas, but he's grown from those mistakes and learned from him. The breadth of his experience has aged Haya from an impetuous young stallion to a mature and balanced elder. He is next in line to be the protector of the Padmapani herd and already the herd members look up to him.

Why should your teepee get the spotlight?: My teepee doesn't have the amazing graphics of other people's teepees, but it is an excellent example of a well-loved place. Within my teepee are my family of soquili. I've got at least ten of them at maxed out stats and more on the way there! I keep a log of every single RP I've ever done with them and it's gotten to a pretty impressive number. I also keep close track of breedings and offspring of my soquili to make sure that no one is lost in the shuffle! Though my teepee might not look the prettiest, it is kept with care and is great for stored information!
Why do you deserve the full spotlight?: I have been hanging out at the shop for somewhere around three years now. Throughout those years, soquili has been much more than a hobby for me. I have countless pages of notes with soqs doodled in the margins and have spent countless hours replying to RPs with all my beloved soquili characters. I have been an active member of the shop and community and my soqs have touched the plotlines of many other thread goers! Managing to get one of my soquili to elderdom recently I consider a sign of my devotion to the shop. It took a couple of years of steady RP to get Haya to that point... and I'm certainly glad I did it!

Why should she get the spotlight?: It's Malis! She comes with her own bubble of epicness! *snickers* I mean, she is the original Troll, is now an elder and is just all around awesome! She has been through so much, has grown from a extroverted mare who spoke before she thought and pushed herself into other people's business, to one who reflects on her experiences and has the desire to teach others, even if they are not part of her family (which is a horde in it's own right!) Malis is a very dear character to be as she is the one who has stuck out like a sore thumb. She is recognized and well known by many. Even people in real life know about my Troll as I play her at the renaissance faire and in other places such as WoW and RPGs. In fact if it wasn't for Malis I would have never met my RL boyfriend! So already it has been an honor that she has gained elder status but to see her put in the circle of fame on the front page would just tickle me blue!

Why should he get the spotlight?: Day is a sweetheart. A quiet, stalwart soquili who is blessed with a green thumb. He is a very good mediator and can be looked upon to give good advice. Dayunsi would like nothing better than to graze in amongst the thick forest trees, which accounts for the amount of twigs and vines that get caught up in his long hair. It is not proven but Immi believes he might actually be afraid of large open spaces because the few times she has asked him to join her on a journey he has declined, preferring to stay in the shady safety. He is now content to stay with Immi as he has finally admitted that he loves her. I adore the twists and turns this family has gone through and this is why he is one of my favorites of my herd.

Why should your teepee get the spotlight?: It's pretty and darn well organized for being so full! While I kept things simple I have most info filled out to give a general idea of each character. I keep the current or recent RP's linked at the top but also log in all posts in the pages that follow along with links to the actual threads. Each soquili are organized by family first and then generation, while the most prominent familiar are at the top. I have plans to extend the information to where they usually travel as some belong to WillowGlen while others just reside in the plains around the river. It is a case of finding a good balance ^-^~
Why do you deserve the full spotlight?: While I'm not that special I do believe my characters are and have earned the right to be in the glow of popularity. I am a complete fan of sharing the love and it has been my goal with the Trolls that any extra baskets go to newbies. This has also been the same for many of my other baskets as each one has gone to an owner with few to non soquili of their own. I'd like to think I have brought many owners into the shop through my efforts, co-owning quite a few of my clan and through giving away baskets. So while I do feel there are many out there who are equally deserving for the honor, I'd be super chuffed to see Malis up there in the ring, or Rynn, or any of my many horde <3
