Adour sighed contently as she studied the prey before her. That the prey wore a face as familiar to her as her own visage did not seem to phase her. Darting from the sky like a bird of prey, she folded her wings to her side, letting a sweet smile cross her muzzle as she stepped from the shadows.

"Little sister! Well met!" Her voice was all brightness and love as she moved towards Sam, thought the warmth didn't quiet reach her eyes.

As usual, her sister emerged without warning. Samsara had grown used to these spontaneous meetings. She had also grown used to the activities that these meetings could sometimes entail.... or she had grown less surprised of them, at least. Samsara didn't know if she could ever truly grow used to the blood, the death... to the hidden pleasure that she couldn't allow herself to acknoledge in sharing that bounty.

"Hello, Adour..." As usual, she also wore a smile at the start of their meeting. As usual and like her sister, it also didn't quite reach her eyes. Whether she would be smiling or not at the end of the meeting was up to chance... and up to what the meeting might hold.

"It's a nice day, isn't it?" It was a silly formality but Sam couldn't think of anything else to say off the top of her head. Her sister would have to get by on silly formalities until she could get more conversationally warmed up.

Adour chuckled softly as she tossed her long mane, wings flaring as she pranced towards Sam. As usual at the start of one of their meetings, she spread her wing over Sam's back and nibbled her sisters mane affectionately. "Have you been practicing? You know you won't get better unless you practice."

Adour knew Sam was no where near ready to make her own kills but she had been teaching her to stalk prey and move silently through the woods. Of course she didn't tell Sam that it was stalking, instead she had taught her to move silently to keep her little sister safe from predators.

Sam hesitated briefly, a shadow of uncertainty flitting across her face. "I have been practicing." Though she might not be practicing for the purpose that she imagined might be the end result of those exercises, she had been practicing. There were times that she simply wished to slip past other soquili without notice or harassment. It was for those times that she practiced moving swiftly and silently. It was a useful skill and one that she ought to thank her sister for teaching her, but like her sister itself, she couldn't help but think it had hidden teeth.

"It's my wings that are the problem," she admitted with a small amount of sheepishness. "Even when I tuck them in they still stick out a bit and snag on things. I can't fold them up like yours." She had always tried not to envy her sister but sometimes it was hard not to when she saw the daring stunts those wings could pull off.

Adour tutted faintly as she paced around Sam, shaking out her long mane. "If you ate more then you would not need to walk about like one of the ground bound fools." Her head snaked down suddenly to snap at her sister's legs. "Why you persist in remaining grounded is beyond me."

Sam gave a sharp whinny of surprise and danced backwards in attempt to avoid her snapping sister. The jolt was enough to snap her from conciliation to irritation and she fixed her sister with a glare.

"Maybe I'd rather stay 'grounded' than have to keep killing things. I know that it's natural for many creatures and maybe even for us... but it still doesn't seem right." Sam could almost envision what was about to occur. Her sister would take on her soothing tone and croon to her about necessity. She would melt away all of Sam's reservations with sisterly affection and Sam would end up feeling guilty for arguing with her in the first place. Maybe it would be different this time... but she doubted it.

Adour sighed softly adopting an injured look ,"Sammy my sweet love..have I ever done anything to make you doubt me? Have I been cruel to you? Everything I have done is for your own good and yet you still mistrust me...." She looked away tucking her wings close to her side.

"It is because of him isn't it? You believe -him-." She spat the words sniffling faintly. "He calls me a monster and you believe him. Never mind that I love you and just want to help you. I am the bad one of course."

And there it was, that tone of sisterly affection. Each time Sam tried to fight it but she couldn't bring herself to believe that Adour didn't mean what she said. She was her sister, after all. She was family... and cause to some of the most important revelations in Samsara's life.

The unnamed mention of their father struck a sore spot. Hayagriva's relationship with his daughters was tenuous at best. He didn't even know that Adour was alive right now... and Sam thought that Adour preferred it that way. She herself had been targets of many of her father's lectures... about not letting the "taint" get control of her.

But if the kalona blood and behavior was a taint then Adour had to be the most tainted of them all... and yet she was probably Samsara's best friend. How could she believe her to be a monster and yet care so much for her?

"Adour... maybe we should just talk about something else." Sam looked around uncomfortably before settling on a possible subject. "Do you... have you met any handsome stallions? I saw another ones with wings like me but he didn't stick around to talk for very long."

Adour immediately growled low her wings mantling as she paced towards her sister, "Who was he?! Did he touch you?! I'll kill him." She anxiously nosed her sister all over, her tail snapping the air behind her like an agitated cat.

Noticing her sisters alarm, Adour nuzzled her more gently, "Forgive me Sammy love, I just...they aren't good enough for you. None of them are." She smiled as she spread her wing over her lovingly. Her lavender eyes danced with amusement, "We are goddesses, they are peasants. Always remember that dearest one."

Sam's alarm quickly transitioned into exasperation. "Adour... nothing even happened," she sighed. "I told you, he didn't stay for very long. He probably wasn't very-" She was about to say interested but didn't want to get her sister going again. "Wasn't very... worthwhile," she finished awkwardly.

Belatedly, she realized that this wasn't a topic she should have brought up to try to lighten the mood. Much as she tried, though, she couldn't think of anything better. "Goddesses," she repeated the word and smiled a little. "I should tell that to the next one I find. That I'm a goddess and they had better treat me right." She was amused by the very notion of it and wondered what sort of reaction that would get. It was certainly not what most mares went around saying as introductions.

Adour laughed then as she nuzzle Sam, "Well we -are- goddesses my pet." Her eyes flashed faintly as she nipped at Sam's shoulder just a little rougher, "You know you belong to me right? We belong together." Her smile is a little predatory, if she hadn't been a female and her sister it might be a little scary.

"I know... I know that." At this rate, Sam could barely keep up with her sister's run of emotions. "You know I love you, Adour..." That was true enough. She had always loved her sister... even if somewhere inside her she had feared her as well. It was hard not to be filled with a sense of ominousness when looking into that smile full of sharp teeth... but it was hard not to love her when she had done so much for Sam's sake over the times they'd been together.

Her voice drifted to a silence. She didn't know what else she could say to her sister when she was in one of her moods.
