::Recent Updates::January 16th Estelle has made a permanent home on Isle de Gambino, currently earning her living acting as a fortune teller and spiritual consult to those venturing into the casino. April 11th Manuela is brought into the world as a very mischievous looking bundle in black and orange. Her two toned hair, bright orange eyes, and odd puffed tail are the only clues to her heritage, though Estelle is currently unaware of her genetic presence in the girl. She believes she's a miracle baby. April 13th Manuela's official introduction to the community and the congregation, given the name Ceballos-Escalera. The carnival styled celebrations and the loud energizing calypso music carried on well into the night. This was Manuela's first look at the heritage of the community. Possible Abilities Confirmed - Pessimistic Forsight (Maluvidi)
--- The power of the spirits infuses the channeler with images of the very worst possible outcome of a situation.
At this point: She has not yet learned to control the power, and at this point it will only trigger when she touches something made or frequently handled by an emotional person. This includes any and all gifts, worry stones, good luck charms, and close personal items.
Physical changes: When Maluvidi triggers the channeler's eyes darken and a faint orange mist crawls up the arm from the fingertips. During a vision the channeler will not move, and the longer it lasts the more mentally and physically exhausted they will be when they awake.
Side effects: Maluvidi, being a skill of premonition, has permanent degenerative effects similar to radiation poisoning. At first since Manuela's involuntary visions will be short they will not cause much damage to her body, the worst resembling a mild case of the flu. As her premonitions get longer and she attempts to correct them the effects will become more severe.
Confirmed - Pain Relocation (Locareliquit)
--- The power of someone communing with a tortured spirit that plagues a living person to remove some of the pain from both spirit and person. Eventually removes the spirit's hold. Many spirits fight, which can cause the channeler pain, often excrutiating.
At this point: Being that she is still very young Maneula has not been exposed to many people in severe pain. The one instance that could resemble this is her conversations with an arthritic congregationer, after which she often complains of being sore.
Physical changes: Locareliquit has no outward signs of being in effect, though if the spirit fights the channeler may suffer bruises, sprains, and broken bones. Injuries will rarely break the skin.
Conditions: Locareliquit is only effective if the person is in the clutches of a spirit, as defined by the channeler. Many diseases, such as HIV and certain types of cancer, are never spirit related, whereas some such as CF and tuberculosis are about half of the time. As such, the basic rule is that the more common the ailment, the more likely it is to be spirit related.
