((hahahahah. I suck at opening RPs))

Asher had dragged Irelia out of the Pastry shop a couple of weeks before, as Irelia had been reduced to tears after Anthony and Riley left, and proceeded to destroy several of the gingerbread "houses" that the other children had made. All in all, the day had been a disaster and Asher had decided that Irelia + other children = WWIII.

But Irelia had become so bored without any other interaction that she had taken to destroying things around the house. No amount of grounding, taking away privileges or yelling got through to her, so Asher tried another route.

Bribery.

So, Asher told Irelia that if she was good for a week, and had five stars on her calendar and no angry clouds, she could invite some friends to go with her on an expedition of her choice.

Irelia had been frighteningly good, and had asked, quite politely, to go to a costume store, because she said one dress and a boa was not enough.

Now, Asher was walking along the street, holding Irelia's hand (she had a tendency to dart in to traffic when Asher wasn't looking... and bit him if he tried to put on her "leash") and was on the lookout for this costume shop that Irelia had wanted to go to.

Asher had put a small sign up on the Liberty Centre Premises and had called a couple of the guardians that he knew, but Asher wasn't sure exactly who would be joining him. Asher found the shop, tucked in between two large buildings, but the building itself short and squat.

"Madame Malkins..." Asher said out loud, "Why does this sound familiar?"

Irelia ignored him and pulled him inside.

A troupe of performing clowns rockstars and babies are generally the mix for stupid mock comedy movies and late night VH1 biographies. Of course there are a bunch of other things to take into consideration for each individual 'family,' but all in all, this particular group looked no less awkward than any of the above.

A quite disgusted ex-diva was prancing down the sidewalk in heeled boots that seemed to threaten a near-death experience each time she took a step, and in her arms she loosely held a young child that fit quite well with the rest of gaia. Alongside she brought her 'friend,' a man named Eliot, which could easily be perceived as her 'special friend,' husband or father of the baby.

The baby, though still rather new to the world, had a gleeful look on his face and was sucking mercilessly on a binkie while tapping the diva's shoulder with sticky-goo baby hands. He spit the binkie out (directly at her face) and giggled while she hissed and shoved the binkie back in, only to rinse(drool), wash(wipe drool on mommy), and repeat.

"I told you babies were a bad idea. Ashley hunny, are you sure you want to go around stalking the kid's future playmates like this? If you ever want to get rid of him..." Eliot began, while picking at his shirt as if it were uncomfortable. Stupid shirts.

"I didn't ask for your opinion!" The 'diva' snapped, aptly named Ashley. "I want to know if this kid is always going to... to be like this. Maybe this will help me tell what he will be like later. Ah. There." She said, while pointing with her free arm ahead of them. Costume shop, that was it. "I think thats it. You check it out first Eliot, I need to pep talk the slime spawn."

With a sort of disgruntled growl, Eliot rolled his eyes and walked ahead, cautiously looking into the costume shop for any 'suspicious' characters while Ashley and the little one stayed back 'inconspicuously.'

Irelia barreled into the shop, running through the tacky bead door and in to a selection of colourful feather boas.

Asher followed behind less exhuberantly, but laughed when Irelia emerged, looking like some sort of fantastic bird creature.

Irelia growled and tackled Asher, laughing loudly. Asher felt her horns connect with his abdomen and he grunted. He believed that he had somehow been hit so many times by her horns, his stomach had created calluses. But it still hurt.

Irelia was rolling around on the floor, and Asher had no idea where the owner of the shop was, but he was inwardly breathing a sigh of relief as Irelia wasn't exactly acting like a well-mannered child.

Looking around, Asher noticed a couple outside of the shop, and the woman was holding a child. Asher walked over to the door, and stuck his head out.

"Hello. Are you here to pick up some costumes?"

Asher looked over the family briefly and wondered exactly why they needed costumes, as their regular clothing seemed to be colourful enough.

Just as Eliot approached the shop from one direction, another would-be visitor appeared from the other. She, however, seemed far less disgruntled and, in fact, was humming to herself in two keys as she pushed a stroller which contained some kind of explosion of half-child, half-flower. "We're almost there, Delly," Kova informed her charge cheerfully. "I don't know who Irelia is but a costume shop is always fun, isn't it?" Her long tail twitched with anticipation. "We'll get you a treat, too. Not jewelry. Mama's got plenty of that and I know where I can always get more if you get bored with what we've got. Not that you seem big on jewelry. Maybe a cape? Or a hat?"

Delilah craned her head back to peer upside down at Kova with bright aqua eyes. Then, solemnly, she shoved two fingers in her mouth and returned to watching where they were going. Spotting strangers in the distance, she lazily pointed. "Mmmf" she offered around her hand.

Getting playdate requests for Riley was a blessing for whichever brother happened to be in charge at the time. It meant they could go some place new and didn't have to entertain their little sister 24-7. And this time it was lucky Liam who had the chance to catch a break. It was, perhaps, lucky for Riley as well, for Liam was often caught up in something boring or didn't have any good games to play with her.

And costumes? Sounded like fun to her! In her mind costumes were aliens, pirates, and dinos and stuff. Princess dresses and fairy wings did not register at all. Which was good, because if they did she'd be most unwilling to join in the fun.

So instead Liam had taken her out to meet Irelia and her guardian at the shop. Liam had driven them both there, finding it more practicle to drive. With his excellent map skills they were there within a good amount of time. He was always extremely efficient, no matter what he did. And while Riley didn't normally notice, she did so delightlfully this time since she didn't have to wait very long.

Being only in a booster seat of sorts now she unbuckled in a flash and bounded out of the car. While she didn't know the name of the store, she could easily see the costumes displayed in the window. She threw open the door with a wide grin, which probably should have fit a fox and not a sparrow-girl, "IRLELIA~!"

Irelia stopped rolling and looked up, spotting Riley in the doorway. She screamed gleefully and launched herself at the older girl.

Asher grabbed her around the waist, and set her down gently, telling her to "play nice".

"NO!" Irelia shrieked, and Asher wasn't quite sure exactly who she was saying no to, either his hold on her or not wanting to play nice.

Asher let her go, and Irelia clambered over to Riley, slipping on multi-coloured silks and climbing over chests to get to the older girl.

Irelia threw a boa to Riley.

"Look, I am a birdy like you Riley!!" Irelia flapped her arms briefly.

Before Riley could answer, however, the light behind her was abruptly blotted out by a tall figure. Backlit, the only definite thing about it was there was a stroller and what appeared to be huge ears involved. Then it laughed and stepped further in to show more details - namely lavendar skin and green hair and a rather pixie-pointed female face. The stroller sent up a wet-sounded trill and Kova immediately dropped into a crouch to rearrange brightly-colored petals to reveal Delilah who, fingers still in her mouth, perked up at seeing two other children. "There you go. Say hello, lovebug."

Delilah obliged by gurgling and waving her free hand languidly. Clearly, excitement and her were passing ships in the night.

Kova smiled sheepishly. "Sorry, girls. She keeps napping on me. I thought a costume shop would be good for her and, oh, I love your pretty dress," to Irelia, "and aren't you the neatest colors!" to Riley.

Katrina was bewildered and flustered and in possession of a small child of indeterminate age, though apparently old enough to walk.

Since, not too long ago, the only living thing other than her crew that she had been in possession of was a largish cabbage, this was rather alarming. It was also rather alarming that the small child of indeterminate age seemed to think it was a cat—and for some rather appropriate reasons. Since she had picked it up and started walking, she had discovered the thing had claws and teeth. And that it apparently did not like her.

Her arms were bleeding in two or three places and there was a scratch across her cheek as she dragged the toddler down the street. The child seemed to find this remarkably amusing, and continually scanned the sidewalks for someone else to torture. Katrina had decided it was a blessing it couldn’t talk.

She supposed, at some point, she would need to start calling it a ‘he’ and give it a name. It wasn’t a cabbage anymore. Which brought her back to city streets. She needed to find out why her cabbage was now a child, and that had led her to the—shudder—city. She hadn’t been in three years, hadn’t been off a boat for more than a few hours in at least eighteen months. Pirates liked their ships. And she planned to get back as soon as possible.

Her purposeful stride down the street was curtailed as the child whose hand she gripped suddenly squealed and dodged toward an open doorway. Katrina frowned and looked in the direction her cat-child had decided to run. Hunh. It looked like some sort of fancy-dress shop. Peering in the door, Katrina saw a few odd things. There were several children inside, and at least one of them looked…unnatural.

Bingo. “Come on, bucko,” Katrina said, allowing the child to lead her. “We’ll ask our questions and get out.” Hunh. She really needed to name the kid. A few immediate options floated into her head as she walked.

In a costume shop, at least, a pirate wouldn’t be altogether too strange.

Riley stared at the strange woman for a time, not really sure what to make of her. Her nose wrinkled in thought. She was the neatest colors? Not understanding the woman's compliment nor...anything about her, really, she decided to simply shrug the matter off as "weird" and move along to playing. She turned back to Irelia, throwing the boa she had been given back at her playmate. Noo, that was not the kind of thing she'd be using. Instead she moved over to a stack of props and found a plastic, curved sword.

She waved it at the other girl with a grin, "Arrrgggg! Well I'm a pirate! You can be my parrot!" After all, if she was already a bird it wasn't any fun to pretend that, was it? Nope, pirates were far more interesting! And it meant she got to have an eye-patch! If she could find one.

Manny wandered down the sidewalk, checking and rechecking the little scrap of paper her mother had given her. It told here to go to a costume shop, which seemed alright, but she'd had to take two buses to get there. By the time she finally found the place, Madam something, she was a bit cranky. Normally Estelle would have come with her, but she had been called away to assist with the birth of a congregationer's first child, and she had said that that was just not something a child should should see.

However, with her allowance jingling in her pockets, Manny had made the whole trip there without making a mistake once, and that alone put a smile on her face. The place seemed a little crowded, but two faces stood out in the crowd that gave her courage. "Riley! And Delilah!," she chimed to herself as she strode past the people she didn't know, tail just barely dragging on the floor.

Eliot's blank face was the only answer Asher would of received, but they had moved past it. People swarming in from every direction, apparently Ashley wasn't the only one to see that note and decide to stalk people.

He glanced back at Ashley, and now a very impatient Harper, and shrugged in a confused way. "Uhh.. they are multiplying, babe."

Frowning, Ashley looked at Harper who had lost all interest in his binkie throwing game and was watching in a fascinated way at the people inside the wondrous shop. "YEARRRRRGH!" He promptly declared, ripping the binkie out of his mouth.

Alarmed, Ashley hurried inside the shop as well trying to pass off as someone who had no interest in anyone else whatsoever. Eliot, being the smarter this particular time, stayed just outside the shop and casually leaned against the wall/window while scanning over the streets.

Once inside, Harper was set down while Ashley turned from him and all but whistled and folded her arms. Harper didn't care, some basic part of him knew she wouldn't' leave, so instead he wobbled slowly toward the congregated kids. Then he stopped and threw his binkie at the horned chick who was launching boas at the tall chick. (hey, she seemed the most volatile, why not?!)

Hearing her name in a voice that was not her mother's, Delilah promptly shifted her attention. Once she had spotted and managed to remember Manuela, she waved and offered a slightly damp smile. Kova's smile was considerably brighter and she reached out to touch Manuela's shoulder fondly. "Hey, there. Did you come all by yourself? That's amazing!"

Anything further, however, was interrupted by the flying binkie and Kova instinctively pulled back on the nearby stroller to keep Delilah from getting hit with something. "Airborne!" she called merrily.

Irelia shrieked as the blue object hit her in her head, more in anger than in pain, as her head was harder than bricks.

She whirled around, dislodging feathers from her "wings" and started to walk over to the punk kid.

"SQUACK!" Irelia bore down on the new kid, quickly getting in to her character as a pirate's parrot. Which, in her mind, was as large as big bird and had a mermaid tail.

Irelia picked up the blue thing, and quickly realized the object was a soother.

"Daddy didn't buy me one of these. I scream too much." Irelia promptly put the soother in her mouth and ran around the shop, silk scarves fluttering after her.

Manny started laughing uncontrollably at the scene before her, wrapping her tail up around her leg to keep it from getting stepped on. She wasn't quite sure who all these people were, but some of them sure were funny. Gathering a bit of control she nodded to Kova, saying proudly "All by myself, with Mama Estelle's directions. She's helping Miss Vanez with her baby." Not wanting to see rude she gave a little wave to Delilah, then turned to survey the chaos. "So what're they doing?" She asked, though the question didn't seem directed at anyone in particular.

Riley grinned widely as another familiar face appeared. "Hey Manny!" she laughed before lunging over to a pile of clothes that seemed to have the perfect pirate stuff in it. "You gonna come play?" She found a large feathered hat and stuck it promptly on her head. She also found an eyepatch with a strap to stick it on. Of course, being as hurried and clumsy as she was she only managed to get the patch half on so it kept slipping from her eye. But whatever.

She then raced after the binkie-thrower, waving her plastic sword. "Arrgg! You attacked me parrot and now ye must walk the plank!" She began to make motions of poking and jabbing the young boy.
