((Open to anyone who would like to join at any time, the party is an all day thing. <3 ))
The band formerly known as 'Aborane' had relocated, finally. They had suddenly and mysteriously regained a small fraction of their former wealth, and though they kept the apartment they had already leased for a year from before, they recently bought a large albeit 'fixer upper' house in a relatively nice neighborhood (until they showed up) and were throwing a party.
A Christmas party, no less!
Initially, it was Sunny's idea to help expand Harper's friendship horizons. He had been noticing a trend of corruptibility among Harper's friends (well, okay, except for that unicorn girl) and had decided Harper needed a dose of wholesome family sweetness. The house was littered with festive decorations, red and greens, candles, Santa-Claus figurines (that SOMEONE had put a ballerina barbie tutu on, though Sunny had yet to notice,) and was all in all looking to be rather charming. The open invitation had been posted at CPK's HQ and everything was ready to go. Harper sat in the main living room staring at the door chomping down Christmas cookies at an alarming rate, and Sunny bustled around making sure Ashley was knocked out on allergy pills for the next few hours, Solo haden't had any sugar in the past 12 hours, and Eliot was appeasing himself by playing a bass to the mellow 'It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..' soundtrack playing off in the corner.
Now, all there was to do, was wait!

Manuela didn't know much Christmas aside from the propaganda she had seen at the malls, but she jumped at the chance to attend a party. Her mother had helped her to alter a dress for the occasion, a red velvet number with a sparkling white band around her waist. The remainder of the white fabric she had used to tie ribbons in her hair, and when her appearance had met her expectations she had begun her journey to the address on the invitation. In a short time she realized it was not the same place she had been before, and once she had adjusted her route it took only half an hour to her there. She barely hesitated as she knocked on the door, attempting to hold steady the tin of gingerbread mutants under her arm.

Turning off the sidewalk and heading up the path, Anya got the sudden feeling that attending a Christmas party with Keres prooobably wasn't the smartest move; multiple people, unknown persons' house, her charge's nature... No. Just, no.
"Keres, IIII think we should just go home." She said and looked down at the young child who was walking next to her.
"What? NO! I want to go! YOUCAN'TSTOPME!" The sphinx-child half yelled and then darted off down the rest of the path, skidded in front of the door, and smacked both hands on its hard surface. It was only after that action did she notice somebody else was there, too. Keres didn't know her, but the other looked... interesting. ...However not interesting enough to make her talk.
The rabbit-eared woman finally stepped up behind her rude little child and smiled at the other girl who was there. "Happy Hol'days," she offered.

Katrina had been rather dismayed to discover that, having finally returned from a week-long pleasure cruise that ended up lasting two months, she had been evicted from her apartment for not paying rent for two months. Melchizedek had been dismayed to discover that he had been removed from his troublemaking partner, a certain young man who had helped him paint on walls once, had moved away. He had been very upset that the new apartment Katrina was leasing was not next door to a Patch child with as much crazy energy as him.
So Katrina had decided to give him a treat and take him to see Harper. She hadn't dressed him up much, just put clothes on him that weren't torn or filthy, forced him into a coat, and gave up. She herself had refused to give up on full pirate regalia, though now she had a sprig of holly tucked behind her ear, and her sword sparkled like a Christmas bauble in and of itself. Walking up the path, she wondered if she should have brought something, but wasn't sure what she would have brought if she had thought to.
She was, therefore, distracted when Melchy gave an ear-piercing shriek and shot forward, dragging his hand out of hers as he pelted toward a very familiar four-legged shape. "Kereeeees!" he squalled, then promptly attacked her.
Katrina smacked herself in the forehead and resolved never to take the boy out in public again.

Neither Shiori nor Kisala knew anything about Christmas really, but any excuse Shiori could find to have the girl out of the house for a bit was a good excuse, and so they had decided to come to the party.
They'd dressed warmly, and had enough exposure to the holiday stuff to have donned some Christmas-y colours as well. Kisala looked rather cute in a pair of green corduroy pants, a white turtleneck sweater, and a green and red striped scarf. Shiori had gone slightly more formal with black yoga pants and a red sweater-- at least this way her tattoos were covered up.
The woman held Kisala's hand tightly as they walked in. She wasn't about to let the girl run off until some ground rules had been stated and she had a good idea of what was going on. Besides, she had to make sure the pure excitement of a party didn't cause the girl to run in and break something.
Kisala bounded alongside her mother excitedly and looked about eagerly. She vaguely recognized a few faces, but nobody she really knew well was there yet. She twirled her hair on a finger for a second, briefly adjusting the silver barrettes on either side of her head and then charged forward to introduce herself to the nearest child.

A crowd was gathering, honestly, Harper was such a terrible host!
After snarfing down a cookie whole, Harper tore himself off his chair and began bounding for the door, only to notice the sight of a lean mohawked man dash in just beside him.
"NO SOLO IT'S MY PARTY!" The boy yelped in distressed annoyance, the pair competing for the nob and simultaneously managing it open at the same time. A sudden rush of new people caused Harper and Soloman to instantly grin, and Soloman's presence at least gave the illusion there would be parental guidance.
"Why, hello!" Soloman offered, grabbing his white haired step-step-love-son's collar and pulling him out of the way. "Come on in! Merry Christmas! The fat guy is over there!" He pointed with his head at the figurine of Santa and nodded enthusiastically, giving Manny a 'oh I recognize you!' little grin for a moment.
Harper, meanwhile, flailed his limbs. "Manny! ... Melchy?! And.. Uh.. new frea- KIDs! HI! I'M HARPER THIS IS MY HOUSE WELCOME WE HAVE COOKIES COME IN HURRY UP!!!"

By the time the door actually opened, Anya was standing there with a squirming hissing mutant child hanging by its lizard tail from her hand while she kept Melchy away with her foot. Yeah... this was going to be interesting.
"Happy Hol'days," she grunted and then held out a glossy christmas present bag with "the fat man" on it to the guy who she hoped was an adult (in this gaia world, who the hell really looked their age?). "Adult-people drinking... merriment... booze... STUFF for you and who ever else." She nearly droppped the fragile contents as the kid hanging out to her side snagged a clawed feline foot into her leg.
"MELCHYI'MMASLAPYOU!" The sphinx-child hollered as she tried to get at the cat-child.

Kisala neatly skirted the two fighting little ones with Shiori in tow, and headed for the hosts, bowing respectfully as she'd been taught, even though some rather shiny objects had caught her eye that needed investigating, "Hello. Thank you for inviting me into your home," she came out of the bow and tugged at the hand that was holding hers, "Lemme go, Mama. I want to get a cookie!"
Shiori bowed as well, murmuring her thanks and gripping Kisala's hand even more tightly for the girl's struggles, "Kisa, listen to me. No breaking things. No taking things, no hurting people, all right?"
Kisala nodded her head in that enthusiastic way that assured Shiori she wasn't listening at all but just wanted to be freed, "Yeah, yeah, yeah..Can I go now?"
The woman sighed. She'd have to release the little terror some time, anyhow. And she'd already told her earlier when she -was- listening that she wasn't allowed to break things or steal things or hit others. She nodded, releasing the hand, "But behave!"
Kisala zoomed away, stopping to bow at each other child as she passed them.

By the time Katrina had got up to the door and attempted to drag her charge away from Anya's, all the while babbling apologies to Soloman, who probably already thought she was a crackpot (she lived with fifteen men who all dressed like pirates ALL THE TIME), hell had already broken loose.
"I'm sorry," she panted to Anya, grabbing Melchy by the back of his coat and dragging him bodily away from Keres. "I should've brought the spiced rum," she said as an afterthought, then just shook her head and focused on Melchy again.
"KERESYEAHRIGHT!" he screamed in response. "I c'n take you on wif' me knife hand be'ind me back!" He said this last bit with a bit of a puff and swagger, and Katrina made a mental note to smack whoever had taught him that one when they got home. Which might be sooner than expected.
Melchy writhed in her hands, and Katrina lifted him off the ground to glare at him, realizing that he was getting a little bit big to pick up by his scruff. "I don't think so, sir," she said fiercely, and Melchizedek looked startled, and then meek.
"Yescap'n," he mumbled, and as soon as Katrina put him down, he hurtled at Keres again, pausing momentarily to wave and enthusiastically call out, "Hi Harper, merry Christmas!" to his host.

She thought they might be late. Lixxie smoothed Carlisle's hair back one more time and followed the last of the others outside the door inside the house, clutching her son's smaller hand tightly in her own. Judging by the crowd, they definately weren't as late as they could have been. She still wished she'd been able to get there earlier.
Carlisle, however, didn't make the distinction. He watched everyone with wide, interested gray eyes. "Cap'n," he parroted to Lixxie, who smiled at him. "Yes cap'n."
"Say Merry Christmas," she prompted, then shooed him off towards the greatest concentration of children. He made a beeline for Harper- the only child he recognized- and smiled up at him.
"Merry Chrissman." The dark-haired boy tugged on the closest article of Harper's clothing.

Soloman took Anya's offering whole-heartedly, batting his eyelashes at her breifly.
"I like you." He openly declared, in an almost boyish school boy tone before zooming into the house and plopping the bag on a nearby table. "Eliot, Sunny, Harper, GO!" He pointed in time to the bassist in the corner, who promptly looked up and grinned in his handsomest most charming way UNTIL he saw Katrina which resulted in dropping his bass and running into the bathroom, and Sunny, who had since bustled out of the kitchen in an apron and in an extremly stereotypical 'gay' tone said "Oh my goodness, HELLO!" more enthusiastically than he ever had spoken in his life.
Harper was caught up in so many things his small fragile little brain was twirling. He half consciously looked down to Carlisle and grinned, moving to pick the boy up, while passing his grin over to Kisala as she passed. "Hey what's your name?!" He asked demandingly, looking over to Melchy.
"Hey Melchy there's a bunch of ice in pail the kitchen if you wanna dunk her in it."

Manuela was a little overwhelmed by the influx of people, but she simply offered a smile to the parents and made her way over to where Soloman had gestured. This fat man seemed to be what the whole holiday centered around, but for the life of her she couldn't figure out why. "What did he do that was so important?" She asked suddenly, the question directed at no one in particular. She knew he was sometimes called Saint Nicholas by the church, but how exactly did that translate to Santa? Her curls fell down over her as she leaned toward the statuette, hoping to find some answer in it.

Kisala blinked away from the shiny tinsel to the boy who was now addressing her, "I'm Kisala," she said, tilting her head to look at the little one in the boy's arms, "You're Harper, right? And who's this?"
She didn't know much about kids that little. All the ones at the temple were her age or at least a little bigger than this guy. They could walk and stuff. Had to be able to, in order to practice martial arts!
Shiori wandered way from the chaos, finding a quiet corner of the house to sit down and observe from.

Anya's head was basically twirling as much as the next person's at all the hub-bub in the doorway. She looked to the man who had answered the door to give an apology for her kid's behavior, but only caught his last words before he dashed away with the liquor. "That's.. new," she said to herself as she peered in for a second before she turned to Katrina. "No worries. If we were anywhere else I'd have let them go at it again." She chuckled and then moved inside to be greeted by the most flamboyantly gay greeting EVER.
The whole time Keres continued to feud with the black cat child while she also tried to escape from her guardian's grasp. "You can not! I BEATYOULASTTIME, KITTY BOY!" She stated strongly, reminding him of their last fight. A second later she geared up to yell something else, but then her attention was caught by the white and yellow haired kid. "Shutup," she snapped and pointed a little finger at him as she was carried past him, "YOULOOKLIKEYOUGOTSTUCKINANELECTRICSOCKEE-ee-T-OW!"
"Chill, girl," Anya drawled as she had dropped Keres onto the floor. She then proceeded to tell her rules but the child heard none of it as she got ready to lay one on Melchy again.

The little boy threw his arms around Harper's neck wholeheartedly. Playing with his mama's roommates was all well and good, but they didn't let him go down slides like this guy! "Carlisle," he said to Kisala. "Am Carlisle. Merry Chrissman, Kisala!" With that done, he smiled at her and returned to clinging to Harper and occasionally throwing wondering looks around the room.
Seeing another person around her age detach from the large group, Lixxie followed her. "Hello," she said softly. "Do you mind if I sit with you?" It'd be nice to get out of the group of screaming kiddlets.
