Since her self boost in confidence Manuela had been looking for an excuse to see Riley again. She wanted to catch up with her friend, and maybe brag just a little. Granted she remembered that Riley had been fairly gifted in the chest area, and her own weren't quite as prominent, but she was still proud. And so on her first day off work she had left a message on Riley's machine asking her to meet up at the mall. It was about ten minutes before the time she had suggested, and the teen sat anxiously over her foamy latte, awaiting her arrival.

Riley had been more than willing to go see her friend. Getting there, however, had been a tricky situation. She wasn't allowed to drive yet (her lessons were still a "work in progress" Victor said) and so she had to enlist the help of one of her siblings. But seeing as Mikael was the only one there...it had been a messy situation. He was watching a movie, Saw or something, and refused to be pulled away from the tv, even though he was watching a DVD. So she had done the only thing that made sense; when he went to the bathroom she stole the DVD player's cord and hid it. Upon his return she demanded he take her to the mall else the cord would be lost to oblivion forever, for she would not speak.
When she hopped out of the car she stuck her tongue out at her driver, "It's in the freezer, you a** hole." And before her tempermental brother could do anything like...jumping out of the car she turned and slipped through the mall's entrance. It seemed she continued to ignore the season's temperature, for she was wearing jeans, long at least, and a tank top. Well, if she caught a cold later there would be no doubting why.
She walked a bit and found Manny wasn't that far off. With a smile she flicked her wrist in a wave but as she drew near her typical hello was altered slightly, "Hey hey hey! Look at you!"

Manuela perked up when she noticed her friend look somewhat feminine, waving her over with a grin. Well, she was getting there, she decided, even if she was still opposed to make up. "I know," she chirped happily, twirling her straw around in her drink, "My jeans finally fit." She was definately proud of her hips, she had decided early on, even if she was lacking in the breast department.

Riley didn't share the notion of comparing or even taking pride in body parts. If you had asked her what she liked best, physically, about being more mature she probably would have simply said she liked having longer legs. It meant she could run faster. So, it wasn't surprising she didn't seem to catch Manny's reference. "It's about time," Riley agreed, throwing herself into the seat next to Manny, "It was getting so bored, you know?" Being the only one staying up late, the only one driving, the only one watching mature movies (well, SUPPOSED to be watching them), the only one doing the high maths...it wasn't very much fun. Not solo.

Manny snickered softly, nudging Riley with her shoulder. "Shame there's no boys for us," she said with a laugh, taking a sip of her drink. Overpriced peppermint coffee, delicious but so not worth the five bucks. "So what do you want to do?" she asked, "I was thinking we could do some clothes shoping, a bunch of the stores here are having sales for the holidays."

"You mean for you," she replied with a roll of her eyes. Even now the idea of almost...seeking out a boy in that way was beyond her. It just wasn't one of her priorities. She leaned back, her palms pressed against the bottom of the bench. "I should have seen that coming," she scoffed half-heartedly, "You are the fashion guru." Again, something she still failed to understand for the most part. "Alright, but that means I get to drag you into Sporting Goods," she grinned, "I've got to get some news cleats."

Manuela nodded with a devilish grin, "Agreed. We can even do that first if you want." Well, maybe Riley wasn't into guys yet. Or maybe she liked girls, that would be a little awkward maybe. Either way she'd drop the subject for now, though she couldn't promise not to flirt if they ran into a cute guy. "Cleats are for what, tennis?" she asked cluelessly, knowing nothing past lot baseball for sports.

Being the impulsive young thing that she was, doing what she wanted first seemed like a great idea. "Sounds like a plan!" she burst, grinning from ear to ear as she jumped to her feet. She shook her head at Manny's ignorance, not that she was surprised. It was in things like this they differed greatly. "Naah, Cleats for for like...football and soccer and stuff. Anything on a field, really," she explained and even lifted one of her feet, dressed in old, worn sneakers, to demonstrate, "They've got spikes on the bottom for gripping...Well, I'll just show you when we get there!"

"Alright," she said somewhat unenthused. It wasn't that she didn't like moving around, stuff like that could be fun. It was just when you factored in the dirt and mud it got a little icky. She'd play with Riley, sure, she would just have to find some old clothes first. There was no way she'd let jeans like these get ruined.

The mud and dirt was perhaps one reason Riley had never been too concerned with clothes; she was so welcome to the mud-strewn activities that caring too much about her appearance was pointless. And though she may have noticed Manny's lack of enthusiasm she was too caught up in her own to let the notion take hold. "It's just around the corner! Come on," she smiled and motioned for her to follow.

"Alright," She agreed, getting to her feet with a bit of a sigh. She grabbed her latte as they left, planning to nurse the last drop out of it. After all, she would need a good bit of a caffiene boost to handle all this sports stuff. "Hey, can we stop by the danskin clothes?" she asked, "I wanted to see if they've got some nice pants, the community center's got dance classes now."

Dance classes? Well she supposed that wasn't a horrible idea, even if it wasn't something Riley would choose. Clothes? Not surprising. And she had said they could go do that kind of thing. "Yeah...sure," she agreed reluctantly, turning her head slightly to look back at her friend, "Is it before or after Sporting Goods? We can head in the closest one first."

"It's actually in Sporting Goods," she explained, "It's made with stuff to keep you from sweating a bunch when you're moving around." As they passed a trash can Manuela tossed her empty cup away, watching her friend intently, "So when'd you get into soccer?" She walked with her hands on her hips gently, a vaguely sensualised sway intermingled with the motion of her tail.

"Ahh, well that's easy! And to think I thought there wouldn't be anything in there for ya," she grinned shaking her head. She continued to head forward, now that she knew where she was going. "Ah...well...I've always been into that kind of thing. Soccer, football, you name it. I like running best though. Been doing some things in track and Cross Country lately," she explained with a motion of her hand.

Manuela nodded, flickering her tail in front of her body with a grin. "I can't really run fast because of this," she explained. Of course, she was also a little chubbier than the usual runner, which may have contributed to it. Either way she wouldn't worry, dance was plenty of exercise to keep her healthy. "But you're light because of the whole bird thing, right?"
