One doesn’t survive in space for long without a very good defense mechanism, and Almadel has one of the best.
And he’s offered to share it with the people of Earth.
With his immeasurable compassion and good will, he was sweet talked into providing the blueprints of his own shields. Presumably. The blueprints allow tech-savvy characters to create solar-powered shields capable of launching into Earth’s atmosphere. These shields should be capable of protecting Earth–or, at least, part of it, from any attack by the Calamitous Hollow.
However, it’s a daunting task.
They don’t have the manpower to create a shield strong enough to protect Earth, and even if they did, Almadel has only been able to supply enough resources to guarantee protection from one blast at best. Even his silver tongue couldn’t talk his way into much confidence there.
The blueprints, and some of the materials, have been passed through several hands, allowing members from all factions to contribute in their construction. When fully constructed, these satellites will be launched into the atmosphere and should be able to deflect a blow back at the creature. Hopefully.

Almadel has provided very specific resources that cannot be duplicated, and while the shield blueprint may be repurposed into something else, it seems impossible to replicate this for other threats due to the unique composition. The blueprint and materials were originally received ICly by Surtur, who shared with his allies, who then shared with theirs and so forth until all factions had access and understood the purpose. This information would have been shared to Order characters first, then Velencians, then the Dark Mirror Court and the Negaverse; the blueprints would have been uploaded to each faction’s respective communication channel, and each group would have been given rare components to work with. Common components would need to be sourced from Earth, but everything is available for characters to contribute to these. When in compact form, the satellites are roughly the size of a school backpack; they will expand when launched and in use. Almadel’s notes imply the shield will be energy based but has cautioned this may only soften a blow to Earth and not to expect complete protection, especially after the first blast. The shields are expected to have a lifespan of only two weeks after being launched so it is advised to coordinate release.
