After her rather successful experiment and assistance granted by General King Jet to safely remove the overflowing, wonderful surplus of energy she was granted by a single lightning strike from the storm... The electrical half-youma, Captain Carnotite, had a rather delightful idea upon seeing the missive sent out by Queen Laurelite. They needed to gather energy. A lot more energy. Well! Didn't she have a lovely new and fascinating way to get some~? Quote: To all Agents: I have a way to pull energy from an active storm, when upon doing so, I require others to assist in syphoning that energy out of myself through basic, simple energy draining techniques. On the evening of March 30th, I will be stationed on the roof of the United Ventures National Bank building, starting at 22:00. I encourage any who are able to come, so that we might gather as much energy as possible per our Queen's directive. I look forward to seeing you, 𝓒𝓪𝓹𝓽𝓪𝓲𝓷 𝓒𝓪𝓻𝓷𝓸𝓽𝓲𝓽𝓮
Short, simple, sweet, and concise as could be. Anyone from a Lieutenant to, as proven, a General Sovereign could oh so easily tap into the energy she would absorb from the lightning strikes, providing a quick and easy gathering resource. For this one evening, at least. Of course, she was... advised to extend the information to the Vanguard and Dark Mirror Court, as well. After all, weren't they all working for the protection of Earth? It was only reasonable for all to benefit from the Negaverse's wonderful discovery for how to tap into the storm's power. And so, she did, sending out a quick message to the other factions through agents friendly with the Dark Mirror Court, and... using the appropriate channels to send the message to Commodore Lyndin to send out as he saw fit. Quote: To those who might be interested: On the evening of March 30th, I will be stationed on the roof of the United Ventures National Bank building, starting at 22:00. Queen Laurelite has given me permission to utilize my capabilities as a half-youma to help assist in funneling energy from the lightning storms, which can then be drained from me with any basic, simple draining technique you prefer utilizing. I welcome you to join us, as our allies in working to defend the Earth from this looming threat. May we meet soon, 𝓒𝓪𝓹𝓽𝓪𝓲𝓷 𝓒𝓪𝓻𝓷𝓸𝓽𝓲𝓽𝓮
And so, the very night of March 30th, at 10pm, Carnotite stood atop the very building she'd indicated, fifteen stories high with a wide, broad flat roof for numerous people to gather, hands clasped behind her in a traditional military pose. Above her, the dark clouds rolled, illuminated occasionally by the purple lightning. Such a contrast to her own glowing, golden appearance, but oh so equally beautiful, in her mind. Her two normal eyes were open, the third upon her forehead shut for the moment, electricity sparking in the air around her in quick zaps and zings in response to the growing storm above. The whole area smelled of ozone, the air was brimming with power. It was a perfect setup for claiming this thing's energy for their own purposes, and Carnotite was excited to begin soon. She was excited to shine. Quote: OOC InformationParticipants in this ORP are limited to Negaverse agents, Dark Mirror Court senshi, and the Vanguard. ICly, this takes place on the night of Sunday March 30th, after notifications have gone out amongst the factions with their individual directives and prompts. This includes the prompt concerning the Shield Satellites. If you mention your character has constructed a satellite, or assisted in constructing a satellite, you can also use this ORP as a +1 to your OOC total there, along with being an event-related Rp to include in your faction specific totals, worth +5! For this ORP to count for either OOC total, you must hit the 500 Word Count per character you use in this ORP. In 24 hours, give or take, I will be posting a follow up post to this ORP where Carnotite will begin conducting lightning strikes from the storm into herself, at which time players have two options: One You can treat this ORP as any other ORP, and Rp with whomever you wish as your character siphons off energy from Carnotite into whatever method they are utilizing for the meta. I will be posting with Carnotite outside of this starting and the following prompt post, so feel free to have your character(s) interact with her!
Two You can treat this ORP as a solo prompt, and simply type up a solo of your character(s) siphoning off the energy from Carnotite, and post it in this thread. So long as you hit the 500 WC requirement, it will count for either OOC points total, provided you also have specific mention of constructing or helping to assist constructing a satellite. If you wish to go this solo route, but would like your character to have spoken briefly to Captain Carnottie, feel free to DM me on Discord @FauxGhoulie and I can give you a quick line or two she would have said in response to them. Participation in this thread will be open until at least Sunday, April 6th. Please have your 500 WC Rp or solo post posted in this thread by then, if you wish to utilize it for the Event OOC Totals!

Cadet Rhysicurrently: inspecting the offered equipment Arriving a little early, Rhysi was eager to this see and experience this enhanced method of collecting energy off the storms. Having worked with General King Faustite, the half youma engine, she was curious to see another being crafted by Earth's world leader, Metallia. While Rhysi had seen a few others on her escorted trips within the their castle, they'd all seemed overly... organic, for her tastes. This sounded much more promising! Promising enough to tear Rhysi away from her work on the satellites, if only for a few hours. Landing on the rooftop, wearing a handmade raincoat, scanner out and with a small floating screen already out and running, Rhysi looked around those gathered and very easily picked out the one hosting this experiment. Where Faustite was the crude power of fire and coal, this half youma was all the clean and elegant lines of electricity. The unsettling earthtones of humanity replaced by soft pastel yellow. Vaguely, Rhysi was reminded of the old human film, Metropolis. Strange and almost disrespectful in its story, and yet the maschinenmensch had been extremely beautiful, as was the half youma before her. "Beautiful," Rhysi stated in greeting.

Commander VynAction: Loitering around quietly. Vyn didn’t make a habit of collaborating with the Negaverse. He did what was necessary when it was necessary, but otherwise kept a wide berth. That wasn’t to say he favored any one side of this war; he generally kept himself out of the parts of it that had nothing to do with the Vanguard. If anything, Vyn favored the Earth itself. Earth was a beautiful, living world constantly at risk from its own people. He did what he could to preserve what he could. The rest he dealt with only when it impacted his wish to save Velencya and revitalize Velenia.
A creature capable of destroying Earth certainly fit within those parameters. They would need more than the satellites he had been helping to construct if they hoped to ensure Earth’s survival, and with it their own. Energy, too, was a vital resource.
Vyn arrived quietly. As a Commander, he knew it was his responsibility to watch over those of a lower rank, but he did so without trying to draw attention to himself. He masked his discomfort and his lack of confidence with as much of an indifferent expression as he could manage, observing the Captain who had invited them there with mild interest.

General AquamarineAction: Tired but present. Aquamarine glared up at the storm as if it had done him a grave offense. He half expected to be struck by lightning and whisked off to some strange prison again. Why anyone would want to tempt fate by purposefully being struck was beyond him, but if it led to a surplus of energy he figured he couldn’t complain too much, even if it was in his nature to do so.
He yawned openly, not impacted by the current late hour so much as a string of late nights and early mornings. Though most of his focus had been on work in the Dark Kingdom while Jet took it upon himself to investigate throughout Destiny City and off-world, Aquamarine had nonetheless spent the last several weeks less rested than usual. When he wasn’t working, he was trying (and often failing) to rein Jet in for more than a few hours at a time. Caffeine could only do so much to make up the difference.
Aquamarine sipped at a takeout cup of coffee anyway. The building fatigue showed only in the faint smudges beneath his eyes and an odd looseness to his posture, like he couldn’t quite manage to stand as precisely as he usually would. Otherwise he looked as beautiful but as ill-tempered as always, hair a neat fall of golden waves, frown firmly in place, dressed in full uniform with his rapier and dagger sheathed and within easy reach.
“This better be worth it,” he muttered to Jet.

General King Jet Action: Tired but enthusiastically optimistic. If beyond exhaustion was really a thing, Jet had already crossed that bridge. Now, there was just existing, at least until the threat had been neutralized. He’d long since decided that he could sleep when he was dead, or at least until things settled down.
“It’ll be worth it,” Jet responded confidently to Aquamarine. He had a cup of coffee in his hand as well, but it was already mostly gone. He had some extra energy drinks stashed away in his subspace, along with various other energy boosting snacks, so it wasn’t like he would need to take a break any time soon.
He flashed Aquamarine a tired but almost excited grin. If they could utilize this overflow of energy, not only would they be able to help the Velencians and their Mauvians construct extra protections for Earth, but be able to gather the necessary energy that the Queen requested.
For good reason.
There were a couple of the Vanguard there already, which was fine with Jet. The more hands to collect energy, the better. His attention wasn't on them, though. It was on the woman who would be channeling the energy.
“Are you feeling alright?” he asked as he took a few steps closer to Carnotite, but not close enough that he got zapped by any wayward energy that ricocheted off of her. Not that he knew that could be a thing, but just in case it was.

Commander Aliez Action: Staying out of trouble. Ready to provide medical assistance if necessary. Aliez knew Vyn would try to gather energy when it was offered, and he wasn’t about to just let him go by himself. He also wanted to make sure that any other Velencians that showed up wouldn’t be threatened by those who were supposed to be leaving them alone, per the Commodore’s agreement with their Queen.
The fact that humans could merge with youma was still a bit alarming to him. From what he understood of it, it seemed to be a symbiotic relationship, but there was also the concern of it being more parasitic in nature.
He didn’t hover too closely to Vyn, but instead placed himself at a relatively equal distance between Vyn and Rhysi. He busied himself with checking his medical bag to make sure he had all of his supplies restocked -- which he knew it was, but fussed with it, regardless.

Cadet Daesva Action: Not trusting any of this but morbidly curious
To say Daesva loathed the Negaverse might be an understatement--but then, she'd had little reason to revise her opinion of them since one of theirs crushed the starseed of another Cadet in front of her. But... she could withhold her commentary for the moment. She knew better than to pick too open of fights, and they were being invited to gather energy which would be useful for, y'know, protecting the planet and keeping her own people safe. Even if she had argued with herself that the time was way better spent working on making some more satellites.... the energy bit was still pretty important.
So she came to the rooftop, eyeing the storm warily and casting Rhysi an exhausted, disbelieving look. Beautiful? That? Her gaze wandered over the Captain briefly before she shook her head silently. The unnatural merging of humans and youma baffled her. How were they able to merge? How much of the human was lost to the youma? Or, perhaps, vice versa? She doubted it was an actual balanced state or relationship...
Though her thoughts wandered, she lingered not far from Vyn and Aliez, at least grateful to see them present. Even if the other Negaverse agents-- ...actually. The General King and General (Jet and Aquamarine) looked like they would keel over without their coffees, so she kinda got a kick outta that.

Corrupt Sailor Lamiea Action: Judging the s**t out of her cousin and not at all actually concerned for her, no
Lameia had needed to query Carnotite for a lift up to the roof and eventually was successful after... a lot, lot of harassment pleading ("I am not walking up all those stairs, are you kidding me? C'mon Carny--"). But her demeanor was less than... absolutely thrilled as she stood to the side with her arms crossed at her chest, lips pursed in an ultimate sourpuss pout.
Hearing about what the lighting looked like to her cousin was cool, don't get her wrong, and she was extremely gun-ho about the increased focus on energy gathering, so this was super helpful on that front... but the fact Carnotite was using herself as the, like.... living transformer? Or however that worked for power lines. Ugh. She just didn't like it.
For a while, she'd sort of assumed her displeasure with everything was just genuine jealousy, but... no. It was worse than that. It was... ugh, concern for her cousin's wellbeing. She needed to spend less time with the b***h, god damn.
--...did that alien (Rhysi) just call the electro-woman beautiful? Okay, now she was slightly offended, but that put the emotional balance back into healthy territory so far as she was concerned, so appreciated that. She would have chimed in that Carnotite was just lapping up the limelight... but given the presence of higher ups, she kept her trap shut. She could jeer and tease her cousin later, once all this was over and... she was sure Lucretia was okay.

Captain Seraphinite Action: Curious, but more concerned about others' lack of sleeping habits
As Seraphinite joined Jet and Aqua, standing more on the former's other side, he eyed the two in clear critically assessing fashion. The work they were doing was necessary, there was no skirting around that. The fact they put so much into the work showed the level of importance here. But he was still wary of a potential crash out, especially for Jet. Exhaustion lead to a decrease in cognitive functions and reflex timing. Whatever additional power he gained in becoming a General King, Seraphinite wasn't convinced it would fully balance out the simple human requirements for actual rest.
What was the average threshold for when people started to hallucinate?
Hearing Jet's vote of confidence to... all of this, had him raising a brow, glancing at the other Captain that was heading this... event. So he hadn't been mistaken about there being an electrical half-youma... but he hadn't considered that would enable her to actually use the lightning to get energy. As Jet stepped away, Seraphinite glanced to Aquamarine, then to the coffee in his hand. "...let me know if you need a refill," he said simply, because he figured being direct with how're you doing? You alright? might not go so well.

FaustiteAction: Being proudly impressed by a fellow half-youma officer The note was quite remarkable for how open it was. Faustite seldom received correspondence from anyone who was not a part of his team, so hearing Headache mention to him a vaguely familiar name was intriguing. That she had a method of funneling energy from the storms was itself quite exciting, though Faustite was at a loss for how that might be. Had she developed a sort of lightning rod that the Negaverse could put to use? Something like that sounded terribly helpful if he wanted to make good on harnessing the world-eater's energy.
Headache thought it was better investigated by the rank and file, and Faustite was nearly convinced — until he finally put a face to the name. Yes, he'd seen that one before. Carnotite was fundamentally different from the average officer, wasn't she?
Faustite shifted into his General's attire and teleported to the nearest recollected cross-streets for the United Ventures National Bank. He needn't look for the logo; the broiling, blackened clouds overhead were enough of an indication of where this agent made her stand.
A series of blinks from one building to the next, and at last, Faustite crowned the looming structure. There, at the center, was the increasingly familiar golden glow of Carnotite. Surrounding her was a scattering of the Vanguard, which dulled his mood somewhat, but there were other agents as well. Jet was likely there to dissuade any untoward gestures from the Vanguard or any prying nonsense from the White Moon.
The smell of ozone was thick, refreshed whenever that violet lightning from the clouds above struck her. The smell was familiar to him, and though he had to try with all his might to suppress a smile, he still clapped for her.
She deserved that much, clever girl.

Captain Strengite Action: Staying silent but judging watching the others She was not one to turn down 'free' energy, especially when there was s**t going down and a higher quota to meet. Strengite was also rather intrigued regarding the message that had gone out. How exactly was this Captain going to draw energy out of a storm? The message implied that it was going to be directed through the Captain, somehow but the actual way it was to happen was still a mystery to Strengite. It wasn't until she was fifteen stories in the air, the air that was practically vibrating with electricity, that she had at least an inkling of what was going to happen. There was a storm brewing, a crowed gathering, and one hell of a crazy Captain standing there in the middle. Standing calm, cool, and collected. They were all one bad strike away from being human lightning rods but Strengite was suspecting that was the intention. Or at least the Captain who invited them up there would be the intended target and the rest would be the metaphorical batteries draining away the energy. Already feeling like static was gathering, Strengite absently rubbed her arm as she glanced at the crowd. Noting that no one from her team was there that she saw, at least not yet, but there were a few big wigs there. Officer's she only knew by reputation.... and then there were a few of those Vanguards. A collection of fighters she didn't quite trust yet, but for now she would keep her own council regarding them. For now at least.

General AquamarineAction: Making faces at Jet. Talking to Sera. Jet’s confidence earned a dubious frown. His concern for the half-youma Captain earned a narrow-eyed look of suspicion. Sure, she was a woman and part monster, but she was also blond.
Aquamarine scoffed and rolled his eyes, choosing not to make a big deal of it for now. Partly because he didn’t have the energy for it and partly because he wasn’t really suspicious. Not yet, anyway. Jet was being his usual attentive self, all doting and responsible toward everyone within the organization, whether they deserved it or not.
While Jet stepped forward, Aquamarine remained where he was, lifting his gaze to Seraphinite. (He had to lift it quite high, too. Aquamarine let himself be annoyed by that. Again.)
“Is that concern? For me?” he scowled, only half serious. Aquamarine was practically an extension of Jet these days, so he assumed any concern directed at him was meant for Jet. With an exasperated huff, Aquamarine shifted closer to Seraphinite, dropping his voice to a low mutter so Jet wouldn’t hear. “I’ve considered draining him until he passes the ******** out but, you know.” Purple eyed rolled in an exaggerated fashion. “Consent. Kind of an important thing between us.”

Captain Carnotite Action: Chit-chatting, waiting for the storm to pick up. All around pleased as punch.
The collection was growing, and she was thrilled for it. Yes, her notice out wasn't the flashiest or most detailed, but it did the trick... and to be frank, she was just plain excited for this amazing chance to show off. Lucretia was proud of her status as a half-youma, and the moment to highlight--literally--every amazing bit about that? She'd prefer at least one such opportunity weekly, please.
As it was, the air continued to thicken with electricity bit by bit above them, and Carnotite watched the lightning with her open third eye. The serpents they formed, streaking and striking towards the Earth, were brilliant. There was a heady, thrilling notion that she could, at least in some extent, channel some of that through herself.
One of the Velencians spoke, and Carnotite shut her third eye before turning her gaze to them (Rhysi), eyes wide briefly before a pleased little smile settled into place upon realizing the beautiful comment was addressed to her. Her opinion of pink-skinned alien drastically increased already. The corners of her eyes crinkled as she chuckled. "I promise, it gets even more dazzling shortly. You're of course welcomed to take any recordings or readings you see fit during all of this," she added, nodding her head slightly to the alien's hologram screen. She'd yet to try and view their technology with her third eye, but suspected the same... interference she dealt with with Earth tech would just cause the same frustrations. Best to just keep the eye closed.
She of course bowed her head in more formal greeting to the other Negaverse agents as they arrived, General Aquamarine given the due respect she felt deserved by one who gained the rank of General, and of course the due level given to a General Sovereign. That General King Jet stepped forward a bit and questioned her condition... she allowed a more gentle, appreciative smile to linger, and she did what she could to try and minimize the electricity that played in the air around her--though, to be fair, there was a great deal already laden in the air. It was sweet of him to ask. "Absolutely, but thank you. I will be cautious of how frequently I tap into the strikes, I assure you. I have no interest in risking an... overload, let's say."
Carnotite wasn't a fool--she valued her individuality over all others, her control over herself. The heady, wanting sensation she'd felt from the lightning before... it was all too clear to her just how easily she could fall into something that would overwhelm her entirely. No, she could walk a careful edge by her proverbial edge of the cliff, she could glance towards the call of the void, but she was confident in a level of moderation to help reduce her risks. Plus...
The fact there were two General Kings in attendance most certainly helped her confidence in suitable, additional aid if the need arose.
Spotting General Faustite wasn't exactly difficult, and she couldn't help herself--she straightened, if that were even possible in her pristine poise, her smile beaming in appreciation to his presence. And the clapping, of course. "It's lovely to see you, General Faustite, I'm grateful you could make it." He'd risen among the farthest in the ranks, showed over and over the skill, strength, and capabilities of a half-youma agent. How could she not respect that? He'd done remarkable things, and his research into youma and the Rift was... extremely fascinating
If she had things her way, Carnotite would push for more agents who were willing to look into the process, to embrace the power offered by Metallia and a truly remarkable bond with a youma. No, it wasn't suitable for all, and she would be the first to caution people to consider the potential pros and cons... oh but the rewards?
The rewards beyond outweighed the risks and losses, in her opinion.
Her smile turned to another Captain (Strengite) that while she was not familiar with, she adored the other woman's uniform! "Gorgeous look, I love such classic silhouettes," she gushed, a legitimate affection towards fashion sweeping aside any possible performative commentary. No need, not when the Negaverse agents were dressed in timeless classics.
While she might have conversed more, she paused, her third eye opening swiftly before she looked back up, gaze intent over the clouds as the lightning began to increase in its flashes and the thunder rumbling was nearly instantaneous. Perfect.
It was showtime~!

The atmosphere atop the United Ventures National Bank was dense with collecting energy, thick with the smell of ozone and small sparks of light that crackled and popped harmlessly through the space. It was almost a haze of sorts, thin, but there... Easy enough to collect energy from the very air itself, really, for those who wished to do so. Closer to Carnotite, however, the small zaps of lightning were stronger, more prominent in their singing through the air, leading upwards towards the clouds. The Captain herself breathed deep, a thrilled smile upon her face as she beheld the lightning above with her third eye and the additional layer of vision it granted her. The serpents that lanced and struck towards the Earth with maws wide open and fangs bared... she was in awe of them, truly. Closing her eye briefly, she looked back to those gathered with her smile still bright. The electricity through her hair glowed and caused the locks to flow somewhat on the current, the orbs above her head illuminating the space brilliantly. "I do not recommend getting too close, but encourage all of you to tap into or drain the energy that will be drawn into me as you are able--and yes, I do quite literally mean into me. I will be conducting the electricity from the lightning, through myself, and you will be able to safely pull and absorb that energy from me. To be clear: it is not a painful process, but there are limitations to how much I can contain at once. So, I will be doing this one lightning strike at a time, and each time the energy is appropriately drained, I will be able to reach out again for another round.
"I do ask your patience and understanding, of course, if I need to take a small break here and there between them--this is a new process, and I have no interest in risking anyone's safety here, or my own, by biting off a bit more than I can chew at once," she added with a small laugh--certainly a level of performance, to put their safety above her own. In reality... no, she was far more concerned for herself, but why ever say the quiet part out loud? Satisfied with that explanation, Carnotite opened her eye again and looked upward, allowing herself to... to reach out, of sorts, towards the storm. It was beautiful to her, the raw power there. Yet, for all that she would comment on how magnetic the storms felt to her... she was aware that the reality seemed to be, she was the magnet for the lightning. Of sorts, anyway. The full technical nature of it, she wasn't sure of, but oh... oh was she excited for this. Reaching up a golden, metal hand, the purple lightning reflected in the surface, and Carnotite's smile only grew as the lightning sparked and formed, and lanced down towards her position. She held no fear as she watched the electrical serpent strike at her with its fangs bared. She welcomed it. The purple-white light crashed into her, coiling and crackling through the air around her as it danced beneath her skin, her eyes taking on the purple hue of the lightning, the orbs above her head raging like small, wild storms themselves. Her skin felt so tight, her body felt too small, and the heady, enthralling sensation of wanting so much to just let herself become part of that electrical storm... The lightning crackled and coursed beneath her skin, and Carnotite felt wonderful, though was aware of herself enough to hold tight to reality. Walking that edge of her proverbial cliff. "You may begin gathering energy now, if you wish," she called out, her voice somewhat off, somewhat distant. Captain Carnotite was still present there, still aware of herself and her surroundings, but the great influx of power did have its definite effects on her. Quote: This thread and prompt will be open until at least Sunday, April 6th. Please have your 500 WC Rp or solo posted in this thread by then, if you wish to utilize it for the Event OOC Totals!Captain Carnotite has absorbed a lightning strike from the storm above them, and is now overflowing with additional, powerful energy! Characters participating are now able to freely drain this excess energy from her, or even just absorb energy straight from the air itself. Every time she is fully drained back to her normal energy level, Carnotite will pause for a small moment before absorbing another lightning strike to repeat the process, ensuring all participants have ample opportunity to gather energy from this event. The energy gathered will have a noted... wildness to it, an extra crackling, fluctuation state to it, that will quickly calm down as it seems the very act of draining the energy helps put it into a stabilized state. All Negaverse, Vanguard, and Dark Mirror Court characters who participate in this ORP or wish to use this prompt for a solo, are welcomed to join until the thread closes Sunday, April 6th. After that point, the Rp can continue, or you are welcomed to use the prompt still for a solo if you wish, but they will not be able to count for your character(s) Event OOC Totals. It can, however, still be used for your character(s) growth requirements, or just for fun! Carnotite is open to conversing with others between rounds, so certainly feel free to have your character(s) address her and I'll be sure to respond!

Commander VynAction: Gathering some of the energy. Vyn gave a start when the lightning struck. The Captain had said it was not painful for her, but Vyn had a hard time believing that to be true. It wasn’t every day he saw someone get struck by lightning, after all. He shifted closer to Aliez and Daesva and tried to motion for Rhysi to stay a safe distance away. Being within range to use his source stone put Vyn on edge. Too close, he thought. What if another bolt struck one of them?
Heart in his throat, Vyn drained the Captain of some of the excess energy. His gaze jumped from face to face as he did so, watching for any mischief, then rose to the storm above apprehensively.
“Quickly,” he told the others. “She may be able to withstand it, but I’d rather not try our own luck.”
