Hobbies:
Family -- Oliver takes parenting very seriously, and spends a good portion of his time supporting his son’s hobbies; he has gone to every baseball game, every debate, every track meetup, everything he could possibly attend. He and his family take regular outings and spend time together frequently; he is very involved in making sure his son grows up happy and healthy.
Homecare -- The first house he and his husband ever owned was a fixer-upper and they worked very hard to be able to do as much as possible themselves. While Oliver himself is only decent at small repairs or basic maintenance, he does a lot of gardening. The backyard is dedicated to growing herbs and fresh produce.
Meditating -- Oliver has a lot going on, and sometimes he just needs to wind down. Sometimes he has too much energy to just sit and do yoga, and sometimes he just needs to clear his mind and do something. He has his own meditative practices, which include playing Tetris on an old gameboy, baking with new or familiar recipes, or biking until he can work off energy and clear his mind. He takes self-care very seriously and does his best to be the best version of himself.
Virtues:
Hardworking -- Oliver will pour everything he has into doing his best. He tries his hardest to overcome every obstacle and is willing to do whatever it takes to finish a job. When he has any difficulties, he seeks other routes to approach the same problem, and he puts incredible effort into every task he attempts.
Considerate -- Life is hard and you never know what someone else is going through; Oliver tries to keep an open mind and is always considerate of other people. He is caring and gentle and tries not to add to anyone’s daily stress. He is empathetic and patient with others, and is willing to extend a little extra compassion to them. He tries to help wherever and however he can, and is mindful and attentive not to hurt or inconvenience others.
Protective -- It’s easy for Oliver to care about people, especially those who can’t stand up for themselves or who don’t defend themselves. He isn’t very good at taking care of himself or speaking up for himself, but it’s different when someone else needs help. He wants to keep the people he cares about safe, and he finds great strength when he feels like someone else is suffering an injustice or being treated poorly.
Enthusiastic -- Oliver is easily excited about everything, be it a personal interest or someone else’s. Flaws:
Cautious – Oliver is constantly worried about what could happen. He can be a little overbearing in his worry, and he is naturally defensive in situations that feel dangerous or hostile. He tends to be a bit guarded with peers or figures of authorities and seems to expect the worst. He has a difficult time opening up or trusting new people, places, or situations, and he can be a bit overprotective of those close to him.
Insecure – While Oliver does his best, he is regularly uncertain of his own abilities or performance. He has low self-esteem and suffers from imposter syndrome; he doubts his own accomplishments and is generally uncertain about himself or his decisions. He tends to stick to the background and doesn’t often stand up for himself; he is anxious and shy and quick to find fault in himself.
Impulsive – Oliver has a habit of acting impulsively; sometimes it is difficult to think things through and he is a bit overzealous. He doesn’t always think of the repercussions of his actions and his spontaneous decisions can sometimes lead to confusion or extra work. He relies on being given direction and can wind up overwhelmed and flustered when the burden of leadership is put on him. He feels immense pressure when forced to make his own decisions; he winds up freezing up or overthinking if he doesn’t have someone to encourage him.
