Hobbies:Horses: Ever since she was a young girl Kayden has loved horses. Her family back in England owns a farm with over a dozen horses, and when she turned six, she was given a young colt to be her own. She named him Pint, due to the fact he was as small as she was, and also due to the fact that was her favorite word at the time. Pint was the first horse that she really learned to ride, and he is one of the things she misses most about living in the States now. Often, Kayden thinks of getting herself another horse to raise, though doesn’t like the fact that someone else will be taking care of it more than she will, so she settles on going riding whenever she can find the time.
Swords: Swords have always been a great fascination for Kayden, she has always loved the idea of people facing off, swords in hand, clashing steel against steel, blades flashing in the sunlight. It always seemed so much more epic and amazing than when people face off with modern day guns and kill their opponent from afar. Guns are a cowards weapon. Kayden has a large collection of swords in her apartment, everything from model medieval swords to samurai swords. She loves the feel of them in her hand, and has taken some fencing classes, as well as a few other swordsmanship classes, and just likes the overall idea of a simpler time. One where fighting was…in a word, honorable. And cool. Much cooler.
Painting: Painting is the best stress relief that Kayden has on this side of the Atlantic. On days when she isn’t working, she will sit and paint from the time she wakes up, sometimes until the time she goes to bed. Her pictures used to hold so much whimsy and color and life, and now they all seem sad. Showing scenes that could have been. With the person who was. Who isn’t anymore. Painting is the easiest way Kayden can really get her feelings across, even if they don’t get across to anyone but herself.
Virtues:Eloquent: Fumbling for the right words to say has never been an issue for Kayden. She is great at expressing herself, no doubt about that. She seems to always have the right words on the tip of her tongue for any occasion, and never says what she doesn’t mean. She is not one to mince words, though she will try to tell you things in as nice a way as possible. The only time that Kayden will ever stumble over words, or not have the right words to say, is when talking about herself. Words are important. Words can do more damage than swords can, if used incorrectly.
Chivalrous: Holding the door, offering her seat on the bus and giving food to the hungry have always been things that Kayden has prided herself on doing, though she never sees it as going above and beyond…she just sees it as common courtesy. It is something that every person should strive to do, yet nobody does anymore. It’s quite sad that manners have fallen by the wayside. Kayden wants to be that shining beacon that brings them back. She really, truly does.
Stalwart: Kayden is a person that will always have your back when it comes to situations. She does not waiver in her loyalty to a person or to a cause, and will defend whatever it is until her last breath. She is not a person who can be bribed, or frightened away, she is big hearted and will do whatever it is she can do for the things she believes in, and the people she believes in. You can count on it.
FlawsDetached: Honestly, Kayden is not a big fan of the world as it is. She would much rather spend her time thinking of other things, doing other things, getting lost in her own head and her own thoughts. Quite often, she holds no care to what is happening around her, so long as she can float away in her own mind. When she’s in ‘the zone’ as she likes to call it, she doesn’t care about anything, she would walk past a lonely puppy on the street. A lot of time, people think that she is a cold person, at least when she acts like this, and lately, this is becoming her new normal.
Bitter: Kayden has a very bleak outlook on life. She doesn’t really believe that there’s good in anyone or anything, and has the mindset that everyone’s going to die in the end, so what’s the point of reaching out and getting close to anyone. Her glass is always half empty, and she doesn’t like people to know that she feels this way, but she doesn’t really do much to hide the fact that she feels this way. She hardly ever smiles, and when she does, it is as fake as Santa Claus. Being so grouchy all the time sometimes causes her to lash out at those who are overly happy or overly emotional. She doesn’t like to be rude…but she really can’t stand people who are all happiness. Who are they even fooling?
Reserved: Emotions are no good to show to other people. There is no sense telling others when you’re upset or angry or even please for that matter, because they don’t care. Kayden does not let people get emotionally close to her anymore, and if she does, she has a very hard time really opening up to them. She doesn’t see the point in wearing her emotions on her sleeve, or on any article of her clothing, because in the end, nobody is really going to be there for you forever except yourself.
