Snow Strike (11) : While out, a sudden snowball smacks you squarely--then another, and another--launched with uncanny accuracy from nowhere you can pinpoint. Whether it’s one unseen assailant or an entire invisible team, the barrage is definitely targeted, and attempting to throw snowballs back or defend yourself only seems to escalate the attack. Sometimes the snowy onslaught will follow you if you run; other times, stepping past a certain point makes it abruptly stop, as if whatever’s behind it has lost interest. No matter how intense it gets, the bombardment always dwindles after a few moments, leaving you cold, dusted in snow, and wondering who--or what--decided you were the perfect target for winter mischief.

This Atmospheric Phenomenon was a strange one, Lovas thought as his head canted back to peer up at the dark winter sky, spewing small frosty flecks down upon him.

Although his own world was generally quite cold, there was almost no moisture to speak of, so the sky kept all its various particles to itself more often than not. He'd been told these little crystals were 'snow' and they were Nothing To Be Alarmed About. A very common, seasonal occurrence that a lot of people had a good time with- and other people had a less good time with, but Lovas' friends expected he would fall into the former category.

And he didn't disagree with that assertion. He stomped through the freshly fallen flakes, leaving the massive imprint from his boots behind, scuffing out shapes on the ground. Nearby, people who weren't deterred by the cold and dark squealed and danced and spun. Another assortment of teens molded orbs with their hands and flung them, quite violently, at each other.

It wouldn't pleased Lovas to participate; they did look like they were having fun! ...But he was not really supposed to make a spectacle of himself while he was powered up and unglamored... He would make a point to come through when the sun was out, when he'd be more free to do what he wanted.

For now, it was probably best to leave these people be. Lovas' scuffled away, keeping out of sight as he moved through the city. He liked to be out at night, and the cold was hardly a deterrent. But maybe he should keep his patrol short tonight. He could go home and conserve his energy to do something exciting tomorrow. It was boring, but safe and reasonable. That was the resolve he settled on when he turned his feet in the direction of home.

But what he settled on barely mattered when he heard the sound of some projectile whistling through the air- And he was struck! It got him, he'd been attacked, assaulted-!

Oh.

Snow. Like the game those younger people had been playing. Someone was out to play with him, too, and Lovas wouldn't refuse them! Another snowball flew at him from beyond his vision, and he tracked the direction of it, dodging frozen missiles and seeking the source of such powerful throws. He didn't know where they came from- but he did feel something more powerful than a regular civilian in the direction he followed.

Something significantly more distasteful.

When he found her, he was smiling, but his expression was sharp and his tone was rough, nearly a growl. Some Chaos Lieutenant. "Were you trying to get my attention?" He prompted, tipping his head in curiosity. "And then what?"

Thulite had been hit by no less than three snowballs, and she was honestly…pissed as hell. She didn’t know who was throwing them, but whoever it was was going to be sans their starseed the moment she found them. Of course, the fact that there was an order aura near enough to be the culprit…that made things easier, in a way. At least until she saw the hulking beast of a man. Holy s**t his arms could crush her, and it wasn’t in the appealing way. Plus…he was literally gray.

Wrinkling her nose, Thulite tossed back her long pink hair, scoffing. “Are you always this color? Or are you like. Sick. And no, not trying to get your attention, but if you were the one tossing the snowballs, you’ve sure as Hell gotten mine.”

His ears were pointed too. Like some kind of elf. He was a sick elf. Maybe it was body paint? Maybe he was just…really into nerdy s**t and painted himself…it.

Honestly there were people in this world who would do that. There was this whole crew on the internet she had seen that just enjoyed painting themselves gray.

Weirdo. “I’m happy to dance though, if that’s your hope~”

That was another thing. He could be like the feathered girl. Odd. Hopefully just as stupid too.

Lovas didn't take his eyes off of her, this little human thing with all the unearned confidence that Chaos could offer. But Lovas was far from rude, and if she had curiosity about him, he may as well answer. "Ah, yes, I am a bit different than you, I suppose, and I was warned that you humans are very frightened of different!" That was why he had to be glamored, why he couldn't be Lovas all the time. He wasn't supposed to be discovered by 'normal' people- But an agent should be familiar enough with his origins to not be caught off guard, Lovas thought?

"I'm a bit sick, I suppose. I have been feeling the putrid rot of your ilk's filthy aura since I came here, and I can barely stand it. I am sick and tired of it- And no one wants to do anything about it. But I will."

And there was no reason to waste time trying to hide his intentions. Lovas preferred to be direct, if nothing else. "Never learned to dance, I'm afraid, but how about a magic show?" Ever since the instability on his world, his spells hadn't been Lovas' most reliable form of combat, but it was still something he'd used for his entire known life, and given his lack of proper weapon, there was no reason to stop now.

He called his spell, feeling the swell of it rise in his veins as he watched the other girl- the girl with the unique power to reach in and take his starseed, if what he'd heard was true. But Lovas was pretty sure no one with half a brain would get within grabbing distance of him.

Sailor Scout Attack -- Take care, or you might break something~
For thirty seconds, targets in a ten-foot radius around Lovas will believe that their bones are just a touch more fragile, thinking a stray step may risk a broken ankle, or a misswing could cause a broken wrist. Taking a hit may crack a rib. While the magic doesn’t cause any actual broken bones, the fear of it inspires caution and deliberate care. All sensations end when the magic does, but at player discretion, characters may take more damage than they usually would. Three uses.

Okay, good to know. Not as stupid as the bird brain. Still an alien though, she knew that much. At least now that she knew he wasn’t just a weird cosplying Senshi. She supposed those existed though, and made a mental note to ask Borax the next time that they spoke. For now though…

“A magic show? How cute~ I’d be delighted.”

Of course he meant his magic, and as the magic hit her, she froze, the grin on her face freezing into something less snarky.

Okay. So why did…okay. She was fine. Absolutely fine but…something was off. She felt that something was off, and the grip she had on her bubble wand, it felt too…strong. She was going to break her fingers. That…wasn’t a rational thought, but…it was one that wasn’t going away. She wanted to move, but it felt like if she did, she would break other things. She had never broken a bone, and really, Thulite had never wanted to find out what that sensation felt like…

“The ******** is this?”

...The ******** was what? He didn't know why she was acting all shocked! that Lovas had used his magic on her. Being a Senshi really only gave him one ability, and Lovas had always thought it was expected that they would do... that one thing? Earth Senshi and their desire to "not hurt anyone" must have given this girl a very false sense of how these altercations would go. But as far as he was concerned, she had engaged him first, so if she was going to instigate, he should correct her false assumptions.

"It will wear off!" Lovas promised with a brightness at odds with the chilly smile he directed at her- and it was barely two of his strides that brought him next to the agent. "But I find it makes it a little easier to connect with the things that won't wear off so easily."

With his excessive history of fending off things that didn't belong on his world, Lovas was not overly concerned about not being able to do the same here.

And this girl was- hm- smaller than what he was used to going up against.

With a beaming flash of teeth, Lovas launched a punch square at her.

Kayden was walking, there had been snowballs, and she had ignored them, half believing it was just someone being a jerk, and half figuring that maybe it was just the city itself being a jerk…honestly, that was how Destiny City worked. The place was cursed and she knew that much by now.

She had a reusable bag with her and was intending on going to the grocery store…she needed some things. Food, for one, and maybe…some wine. Wine wasn’t…bad. You…well, you could get trashed on wine but it took a lot longer, so wine was a safe drink to have.

Another snowball hit her and she heard voices, pausing as she glanced in the direction of them, thinking that perhaps it was going to be kids playing and have the reason for the random snowballs but…no.

Nope, it was a gray Senshi terrorizing a very young looking lieutenant and she sighed, pursing her lips and seriously thinking about what to do next. Sure, the responsible thing to do would be to get the girl out of there, but that would take a lot of energy and Kayden was sure she wouldn’t get to the store if that happened…but…

This guy was built like a dump truck, and the girl was skinny as most people wished they were, so…

Her decision was made for her, it seemed. Clearly the two were far too engaged to see her power up, but as her Captain’s aura flared into existence, she took the moment to teleport, getting between the two and knocking the Senshi’s arm with the flat of her blade. “I don’t think so, Maybe pick on someone who’s literally not half your size?”

Her London accent was thick tonight, the sarcasm flowing as naturally as breathing.

Good, good…it would wear off…but when. How was she supposed to defend herself when she was sure that the moment she moved she would be needing a full body cast?

And then there was the flare of another aura, and Thulite felt both hopeful and a little unhappy. At least it wasn’t Borax, the aura wasn’t strong enough for that...and that was a good thing, but then a kind of bratty female voice spoke and she looked up, blinking as a green clad brown haired woman with a sword...seemed to be saving her a**.

Well. Ugh.

“You know, I had this all under control, thanks.”

Lovas barely even had time to register the presence of a stronger aura before a second girl was standing before him, knocking his punch with the flat of a short, narrow blade. This level of aura was more than he had felt before- a Captain, at least, and carrying an actual weapon. He'd heard they had more resources suited for killing. More than he could say of the Lieutenant before him.

He should be cautious, but such had never been the Lovasii way.

"Oh..." The sound he made was the softest little purr, accompanied by an amused quirk of his lips. He pressed the pad of one finger to the sword's edge, applying just enough pressure to lift the tip toward his chest. The blade was sharp, but his skin was thick, having calloused over many times in the past centuries. It did not draw blood as he skimmed his finger down the blade toward her, though an inch or two of forward thrust would've.

He knocked the tip hard with one hand, while the other on the blade snatched for her wrist.

It was just a flourish of sharp movements and it had popped out of her grasp and into his own. Lovas gave it an experimental slash. It was not shaped particularly differently than any he'd held before. Perhaps it didn't really matter the world- a sword was a sword. But it was- "Quite a bit smaller and lighter than I'm used to..." He admitted. But the girl was also quite a bit smaller and lighter. Suited to her, he supposed, crafted specifically by the poison that gave her any power at all.

...That was disappointing. His world had not crafted any tools of murder self defense for him.

"There would be very few left to pick on if I kept it in my size range," Lovas argued, still inspecting the sword more than the girls. "Your planet hosts very small people. Though I have found that to be one of the more inconsequential factors in combat." But literally every single Negaverser he'd seen were people short and quite slender. "Besides, I think your Chaos fancies infecting people who appear defenseless. To use as another ******** deception." But he would not be so easily deceived.

His punch had done nothing, but maybe this sword could hack that girl's head off- and he might as well try!

“Oh. Wow, okay no. That’s not…how this is going to work.” Aegirine’s voice was growing higher as she spoke and she pushed Thulite backwards and closed her eyes for a moment before summoning the sword out of the Senshi’s hands. “That’s mine, thank you. And, none of us are defenseless, it just takes time for us to come into our own.”

She brandished the sword, trying to get him away from the both of them, and then taking it in both hands, swung it hard at one of his beefy arms.

Gross. But maybe he would see that they weren’t helpless. Hadn’t been helpless and wouldn't be helpless. “I think it’s time for you to just…get the ******** out of here? And you know, we’ll do the same and everyone wins.”

The blade had made contact and she felt rather proud. The thick red glistening on the edge of her blade brought a lot of confidence and she grinned slightly. “In fact, we’ll go first, just to make it easier on you. She took a step backwards and reached down, groping for the lieutenant’s arm, and squeezed it, trying to communicate that…they were about to go.

And then, she gathered her energy and did teleport, well away from this crazy Senshi.
