Zenner blushed a little at the comment about her having a cute face. She couldn't help it. She'd had a little crush on Kayden when they were kids and then to get to have that night with her....
She snapped herself back into focus before her mind could wander too far. She walked towards her bedroom so she could change into some real clothes and throw some stuff into a backpack, just in case she didn't come home tonight.
"I mean, it sounds like you're dying to see me again. No, no allergies to worry about. I'll eat pretty much anything."
She looked at her phone and her stomach fluttered a little at the green heart.
"Oh I know exactly where that is. I'll be there in twenty. Try not to combust with excitement before I get there, okay? I'll see you soon."
She hung up the phone before she could say something sentimental.
She put her medicine, phone charger and a spare set of clothes into her bag. She thought about bringing her cane, decided against it, and then decided to bring it anyway. She folded it up and put it in her bag so she wouldn't be seen carrying it.
There was nothing wrong with using a cane, especially with an injury like hers, but she felt weak when she had to use it. It always reminded her of just how serious her injury was, and that always reminded her of her parents.
She shook her head to get the bad thoughts out and shouldered her bag. She walked out of her front door, locking it behind her, full of anticipation of the night to come. Now to just make it to Kayden's.
