  • August 19, 2015 X When a Sharpedo washed up dead with no identifiable cause of death, Agents Aulus and Tambrey began to suspect foul play and, following a dismissal of the issue from HQ, set out to investigate the matter themselves. Aulus sent his Lugia, fitted with an array of cameras and sensors, into the ocean to search for clues. The waters grew murky, and a sudden attack by a school of Sharpedo forced the Lugia above the surface, where it found itself fired upon by missiles through the dense fog.

HISTORY
Detailed here is the whole of our shop's history, listed in chronological order with oldest events first and newer events at the end.

??? - 1998
      Team Rocket's first appearance was in Kanto under the leadership of a man named Giovanni. They pursued conquest of the world by using Pokémon as tools of both fear and profit. The organization was disbanded by Giovanni after its defeat at the hands of the Pokémon League, and though they tried to reestablish themselves in Johto, they were thwarted once again by the League. The original organization as it was under the leadership of Giovanni has not been heard from since, and the name "Team Rocket" would not be heard again for the next five years.

2004
      The whispers of a new Team Rocket would first be heard from the small island region of Kodo, a place outside of the Pokémon League's jurisdiction. Despite the island's adequate population and industry, it had yet to integrate Pokémon into daily life like one would expect in League regions.

      Team Rocket's rebirth was under a man by the name of Lucere Temero, who made himself the organization's leader.

2004 - 2009
      Lucere worked to establish his organization's power in silence and in secret, spreading its influence like a slow poison throughout the region and the world's underground crime network to rebuild Team Rocket's infamy. A headquarters building was established in Kodo's northern desert, outposts were erected in the region's cities, and other bases gradually and quietly appeared throughout the world. The town of Ambergris, close to the site of the headquarters building's construction, was steadily bled dry of its resources.

2009 [ROLEPLAY BEGINS]
      By this time, Team Rocket had become a force to be reckoned with, boasting a fairly substantial number of followers - though most were still only Grunt or Trainee rank and were still in need of a considerable amount of training and experience. The individuals in charge of overseeing those Grunts and Trainees were Elite Agent TRP, a field agent whose primary job was to lead missions, and Elite Agent Seth, the director of the technology department.

2010
      The Elite Agent rank was joined by Elites Kunai, head of the intelligence department, and Elite Nadja, head of the genetics division in the science department.

      February 27 :: [PRP]
      Team Rocket investigated the sighting of an Articuno that appeared on Sky Peak Mountain. Grunt Hayes and Agent Nikki set out hoping to encounter or catch the Legendary, but they were unable to achieve results. They returned to the base half frozen and with only a single feather to show for their efforts. Unfortunately, the feather proved nonviable for cloning purposes.

      March 19 :: [RAID]
      Team Rocket set out on its first real mission since its establishment in Kodo. The goal was to break into a facility and steal a Pokémon storage system filled with Pokémon, though the team was only able to partially succeed before the Kodo police force appeared and opened fire, resulting in serious injury for many of the mission participants. Due to the police's unexpected preparedness, the Elites began to suspect an information leak - or perhaps even a mole.

      The successful acquisition of Jirachi DNA during the mission allowed Team Rocket to begin producing Jirachi clones, along with the Mew and Mewtwo that they were already able to create. This was the beginning of what would become a very profitable endeavor, ultimately earning them recognition and status from the black market as the world's top supplier of legendary Pokémon.

      April 30 :: [RAID]
      Team Rocket celebrated its 6th anniversary, this one in particular being significant as the marker of the first year that the organization began to make real progress. Some individuals were plagued by doubts, however, stemming from the fact that no one knew the boss's name or face - all orders came from Elites who in turn had been ordered by the Executive Agents, the only individuals with any contact with the boss. Some questioned if a boss even existed.

      The celebration came to an abrupt halt as the perimeter alarms alerted base security of an approaching object. All hands were called out of the building to the desert to prepare to defend the headquarters building. The object in question was a giant robotic Drapion piloted by Team Galactic member Atlas. Atlas's objective was to convince the Rockets that their organization was both leaderless and purposeless, hoping to persuade them to join Team Galactic instead.

      The Rockets fought against the Galactic mech, and in the midst of the battle, Lucere, the boss of Team Rocket, made his first appearance to the organization at large. Commanding a massive, darkly-colored Groudon, Lucere decimated the enemy robot, resulting in Atlas's capture and imprisonment.

      May 23 :: [PRP]
      An incident took place in Team Rocket's cloning labs that resulted in the escape of an experimental Charizard, its aggression causing severe injury to a Rocket and significant damage to a lot of equipment. The incident, which occurred because a Grunt unaffiliated with the science department entered the cloning labs, prompted stricter security measures for accessing the labs. From this point forward, only Rockets whose assignments involve lab work were granted clearance to enter the labs.

      May 28 :: [RAID]
      A ship containing rare, foreign Pokémon became Team Rocket's next target, and a mission team slipped inside under cover of darkness. The team was slowed first by the ship's security crew and workers and next by a group of Houndoom guarding their goal, but they overcame them all to retrieve as many pokeballs as they could fit into the several bags they'd brought. On returning to the deck, they were welcomed by the chaotic sight of Elite Seth and his Typhlosion facing off against the police in a battle of bullets and fire. Despite several injuries to various members of the team, they managed to escape by sea and air with their haul.

      August 6 :: [RAID]
      Seeking to expand the repertoire of legendary Pokémon they are able to clone, Team Rocket set its sights on the Blue Orb on display in one of Jinko's museums. The mission, like others before it, nearly went awry, but the mission team managed to escape with its prize.

      December 17 :: [RAID]
      Team Rocket successfully infiltrated the annual Poké Ball formal event in Camphoreon with the intentions of furthering their efforts to obtain rare and powerful Pokémon. With all attending operatives dressed for the part, the mission team was able to blend in easily and move amongst the crowd to gather intelligence about the other guests and their Pokémon.

      Team Rocket was successful in lifting a number of rare Pokémon, but the mission hardly went off without a hitch. Grunt Aila used the event as an opportunity to exact personal vengeance against a foreign diplomat who happened to be in attendance, resulting in the death of his young daughter. At the same time, a guest's Shaymin became agitated when targeted by Grunt Sorano, and the Pokémon's Seed Flare attack caused a massive explosion that badly wounded many.

2011
      January 21 :: [RAID]
      Team Rocket's progress in teamwork and efficiency began to show during a mission to a volcanic island. The mission objective was to capture the Ho-Oh rumored to be in the area, but as the team ventured into the active volcano, a cave-in separated the Grunts from the Elites leading them. Fortunately, they were able to reconvene and made their way to the heart of the volcano where they discovered not only Ho-Oh but also a nest occupied by the Ho-Oh's egg. A fierce battle took place that resulted in many serious injuries and close calls with the pit of lava bubbling below, but eventually the team's efforts wore the legendary Pokémon down to exhaustion.

      Just as the capture was nearly made, however, the Ho-Oh was seized by an unknown machine. Thus Team Rocket had its first encounter with Team Galactic's head: the boss Deimos, who had attended the Poké Ball as the Shaymin's owner, and two of his commanders, Tethys and Orion. Team Rocket was unable to prevent the loss of the Ho-Oh, but Agent Nyx prevented the mission from being a total failure by devising an idea to recover the egg that had fallen into the lava.

      News of Team Galactic's interference ignited a spark of rivalry and vengeance in many of the Rockets.

      February 25 :: [RAID]
      Having obtained some information about Kyogre's whereabouts, Team Rocket organized a mission to the location to use the Blue Orb to summon the legendary Pokémon. Two Elites, two Agents, and a number of Grunts set out to Hoenn with this intent. The mission took them deep into an underground cave, using the tides to dodge the reach of the encroaching ocean. Once they arrived at the place where they would summon Kyogre, Grunt Will revealed himself as the Champion of the Kanto-Johto aggregate, Lance. His task, as it had been in the past, was to stop Team Rocket.

      A fierce battle ensued between the Rockets and the Dragon Champion, who proved a formidable adversary, and as they subdued him, the Blue Orb's power summoned Kyogre. Greeted with violence, Kyogre was enraged and attacked the Rockets, and many sustained grievous injuries. As the legendary Pokémon was worn down, Agent Nyx threw the pokeball that captured the beast, allowing them to bring back not only their mission objective but also the captive Lance.

      March
      Executive Agent Loreven transferred into the headquarters building, presumably from Unova, given the large number of foreign Pokémon he brought with him. The new Executive's laid-back, carefree, and personable demeanor was baffling to many.

      March 18 :: [RAID]
      In response to news of Galactic sightings in the Cypress Forest, Executive Agent Loreven selected a team at random to go out and take a look. The team came into contact with Galatic Boss Deimos and Commander Tethys and were immediately attacked by their mecha Ariados. The Rockets retaliated, ultimately succeeding in driving them off. In the ensuing investigation of the destroyed mech, a pokeball the size of a basketball was found. It was determined that the pokeball, dubbed the G-Ball, had a capacity for an incredible twenty Pokémon, and Agent Faleen and Elite Hayes of the technology department were assigned the project to replicate the item.

      March 31 :: [ORP]
      The Camphoreon Outpost, presumably due to Lance's efforts during his time as Grunt Will, was raided by the police. Grunts Claire, Frost, and Izaya fought to escape arrest and managed to get away, but Team Rocket was forced to abandon the outpost.

      April
      Elites Seth and Nadja were promoted to Executive Agents. To fill the gap left in her department, Nadja recommended Agent Nyx for promotion to Elite so she could take over the cloning lab.

      April 22 :: [RAID]
      Team Rocket assembled a team to try to recover the outpost, flying them out by helicopter from the desert to the drop point near the city. Before they could reach their destination, however, Team Galactic, including Deimos and Commanders Tethys and Orion, appeared in the skies aboard an experimental new aircraft. Deimos lost control of the vehicle and careened into the Rocket helicopter, resulting in both sides being involved in a massive crash into the mountains.

      The Rockets and Galactics, trapped in an abandoned mine within the mountains, were forced to call a temporary truce and work together to find a way out. As they worked towards this goal, Deimos gradually became more and more enamored with Agent Nyx, who assuaged his claustrophobia with a mild sedative injection and corrected his recital of pi. The Rockets began to learn about the Galactic boss's personality and were baffled to discover that, despite his brilliance as an engineer and a roboticist, his other cognitive functions were essentially on a toddler's level.

      When the teams escaped the mine, Deimos remotely triggered the Rocket pokedexes to explode, injuring a number of them as he and his commands fled to safety. Agent Nyx was suspiciously spared.

      May :: [PRP]
      Lance, having spent his time up to now in the brig, was made an experimental subject for a project overseen by Agent Faleen: a chip implanted into the brain that suppresses emotions and independent will. Through use of this device, Lance was converted into an obedient slave for the organization.

      July 1 :: [RAID]
      A rare event took place in Sandalwood: a Pokémon coordination contest, hosted by the League. Many trainers were eager to participate in this special treat, and Team Rocket saw the contest as an opportunity to steal Pokémon. They infiltrated the contest and launched an attack, succeeding in stealing a number of Pokémon. This was Team Rocket's first truly public appearance in Kodo since the contest was televised, and the League was faced with irrefutable proof that Team Rocket was back and threatening the region.

      September
      To protect his company, which drew large amounts of money and resources for Team Rocket, Executive Agent Seth resigned and returned to Elite status. He left the base to attend to his company full-time and secure his assets.

      October 29 :: [PRP]
      Team Rocket, tired of being caught unawares and disadvantaged by Team Galactic, devised a plan to launch a preemptive strike. Planning to use Deimos's attraction to Nyx as the fulcrum in their scheme, Elite TRP and the recently promoted Elite Nyx set out on a fake mission: They pretended to be investigating a legendary Pokémon near Elemi Lake while openly communicating via unencrypted radio waves. Their hope was that Galactic would track them down to seize Elite Nyx, and their efforts came to fruition. All that was left was to wait for the opportunity to strike.

      November 5 :: [RAID]
      Following the capture of Elite Nyx, the Rockets pursued a tracking beacon that had been planted on one of Nyx's Pokémon and were led directly to the Galactic base, a massive airship that encompassed the entirety of their headquarters. A team of Rockets disguised in Galactic uniform infiltrated the base in hopes of discovering the enemy's weakness and retrieve their captive Elite - although Nyx was certainly not in any distress, being waited on hand and foot by the infatuated Deimos.

      During their search for Nyx, the Rockets came upon some disturbing information about Team Galactic's goal: They were collecting the legendary Pokémon to use as a power source to fuel a machine located in the Johto region. The evident purpose of this machine was to completely recreate the world to suit Deimos's personal ideas of how the world should be. Knowing this, and knowing that Deimos's ideal world had no place for them, the Rockets shouldered the burden of destroying the machine.

      With Elite Nyx secured, the team made their way to the docking bay where they were stopped by Team Galactic's lead engineer, a man called Star, who suspected the group, questioned them, and revealed them as impostors. The Rockets abandoned their charade and retaliated against the assembling Galactics, destroying the enemy forces and stealing a large jet styled after a Yanmega to carry them to the machine's coordinates.

      The team fought their way through to the heart of the machine, a massive contraption whose interior rivaled a stadium. Within, numerous legendary Pokémon had been gathered and contained, though the many empty units signified that the Galactics had not yet completed their collection. Deimos and his commanders stood ready to defend their machine tooth and nail, and the battle that proceeded resulted in the death of Commander Orion, the release of the legendary Pokémon, and a massive explosion from Deimos's Shaymin that caused a great deal of harm to the Rockets.

      With the machine effectively disabled and the building falling apart, the Rockets fled the wrath of the rampaging legendaries and escaped via their stolen Yanmega jet. Agent Aila, damaged by the Shaymin's Seed Flare in a bid to protect Grunt Izaya, did not survive the trip back to headquarters.

2012
      January
      Agent Hayes was promoted to Elite to oversee the technology department. Hayes appointed a number of liaisons within the technology department to keep things running smoothly despite his limited expertise, such as Agent Faleen to oversee robots and Agent Lucas to oversee weapons.

      January 27 :: [RAID]
      The boost of confidence that came with defeating Team Galactic's ambitions was offset by the loss of a skilled Agent, but life marched on for the Rockets and a new target was chosen. A team was assembled to steal what would be a valuable piece in the black market: the Sky Plate. The Rockets infiltrated the museum with little difficulty, and the operation proceeded smoothly until just before the target was acquired. The mission was interrupted by the sudden collapse of the ceiling, revealing that Team Galactic had been lying in wait for the opportunity to exact revenge against Team Rocket. Seven of the nine Rockets were taken hostage: Agent Aulus, Grunt Jerome, Grunt Shawn, Executive Agent Loreven, Elite Agent Hayes, Grunt Tambrey, and Agent Xander.

      January to March :: [PRP] :: [ORP] :: [ORP] :: [PLOT] :: [ORP] :: [PRP] :: [PRP] :: [PRP]
      Upon the news of the Rockets' capture, Boss Lucere called a full assembly and announced to Team Rocket that all of their time and resources were to put towards finding their missing teammates. To explain his uncharacteristic desperation, Lucere revealed that Executive Agent Loreven was his younger brother.

      The Rockets worked tirelessly to locate the Galactic airship, and in the middle of their efforts, they were contacted by the Galactic engineer Star to request a meeting with the Rockets. He proceeded to offer his assistance to the rival organization in exchange for being awarded the rank of Executive Agent within Team Rocket. Lucere agreed to the terms, and Star was brought back to Rocket headquarters.

      During this time, Team Galactic's Commander Tethys interrogated the captured Rockets, brutally torturing them for information that they each refused to divulge.

      March 23 :: [RAID]
      With Star's assistance, an explosion and a beacon onboard the Galactic airship allowed the Rockets to locate the enemy headquarters, and they immediately gathered an infiltration team. The recovery of the captive Rockets, each in various states of mental and physical exhaustion, went smoothly and without incident, but they were not as lucky in staging their escape. Commander Tethys and a number of other Galactics caught up with them and attempted to stop them, resulting in further injury. The Rockets, in their effort to escape the airship, incidentally wound up crossing paths with the leader of Team Galacitc, and they took Deimos hostage to aid in their escape.

      The Rockets returned to the base, and Lucere was reunited with his brother, the tortured Rockets were given medical aid, and the captured Deimos was confined in the brig. Star, despite having been promised Executive status, was chagrined to discover that he had been inducted as a Grunt instead. Loreven gave up his Executive Agent title and became a Grunt as well.

      April
      Elite Agent Harvard transferred into headquarters to handle Team Rocket's legal matters.

      June 2 :: [ORP]
      One early summer evening, a celebration was held in Camphoreon at which it was revealed that the Pokémon League would finally have an official presence in Kodo. Throughout the evening, one of the League's officers spoke to the trainers that had gathered - and also to the Rockets that were secretly attending - and distributed business cards. The League promised to take the Rocket threat seriously and encouraged the trainers to get in touch any time they had any concerns or information.

      As the Rockets returned to the desert headquarters, the League monitored the location and direction of the little blips moving on their radar. The business cards contained tracking devices, though the Rockets discovered the trick before too much information was revealed.

      June to December
      During the second half of the year, the Pokémon League conducts an investigation based on the data gathered from the business card tracking devices. The League attempted to investigate the desert, where the cards' signals behaved most suspiciously, but it was determined that the sandstorms and hostile Pokémon in the area would make it impossible for Team Rocket to operate there.

2013
      February 2 :: [ORP]
      Due to an internal error, the Rocket base was unexpectedly harassed by a swarm of Rotom that took control of various electronics to wreak havoc. Each of the ghosts was eventually subdued, but the incident took a greater toll than simple headaches - Agent Faleen's Umbreon was killed in the event.

      March 26 :: [SOLO]
      Agent Asch, not wanting to remain a part of Team Rocket, left the base to commit suicide so that his heart could be used as a transplant organ to save his ailing brother.

      March 29 :: [RAID]
      Rumors of the legendary Pokémon Mesprit brought a mission team to the Cypress Forest, where they headed into a cave and discovered a Galactic drilling machine, long abandoned, that had been used for some sort of excavation. The Mesprit was found and captured, but when the labs were examining it, it was discovered that the legendary Pokémon was no more than an average Ditto.

      April
      Elite Agent Hayes transferred to a base outside of Kodo.

      May 21 :: [ORP]
      In Vermillion City of the Kanto region, the Kanto League organized a Pokémon battling tournament. Hoping to get some more battle experience under their belts, a handful of Kodo trainers were also in attendance. Their participation was brought to an abrupt end, however, when the trainers were attacked by a pair of Rockets, Agent Faleen and Grunt Izaya. Faleen, having learned of Asch's contact with his brother, was concerned about what information the late Agent might have divulged. Despite attempts to remain anonymous, one of the trainers recognized Faleen as her sister. The Rockets are able to escape unscathed though without having obtained much useful information and with their identities compromised, and the trainers are left injured and shaken in the wake of the attack.

      June
      Agent Claire was promoted to Elite Agent, specializing in mission leadership. Around the same time, Executive Agent Nadja transferred out of Kodo to another region's base.

      July 12 :: [RAID]
      The first annual Pokémon Convention was organized and held in Camphoreon, featuring a questions and answers panel staffed by members of other regions' Elite Four and Alder, the former Champion of Unova. The panel was a direct response to the attack on the tournament in Kanto and to the growing concern about the threat posed by Team Rocket. A team of Rockets quietly attended the event for intelligence purposes, but things quickly fell apart when trainer Luke was mistaken for his twin brother, the deceased Agent Asch, whose face was presented to the panel as a known Rocket. Panic spread as other Rockets in the crowd were identified, and the Agents in attendance attacked the crowd to facilitate their escape.

      Five Rockets, including Grunt Izaya and Grunt Inigo, were placed under arrest, and both sides of the conflict sustained injury. The trainer community was shaken by the knowledge that Rockets could slip into League functions so easily, and many began to question whether it was wise to remain in Kodo.

      Former Champion Alder, having not only witnessed but also joined the battle against the Rockets terrorizing the convention, recognized that without the League's support, Kodo's trainers would all abandon the island and leave it to be ravaged and overrun by Team Rocket.

      August
      Agent Lucas was promoted to Elite Agent, fully against his will, to improve efficiency, organization, and leadership in the technology department. Elite Agent Becca also transferred to the Kodo headquarters to lend her services to the demolitions department.

      August 27 :: [PRP]
      Trainer Luke, while training on the outskirts of Camphreon, discovered an unusual-looking legendary Pokémon that was eventually identified as a Jirachi. The Pokémon was exhausted and starved, and through its ability to communicate telepathically, Luke came to understand that the Jirachi's behavior wasn't quite normal; it didn't understand even basic impulses such as hunger, and it needed to be taught to eat. Luke brought the Jirachi to Alder. From what little the Jirachi is able to communicate clearly to Alder, the former Champion begins to suspect that the Pokémon's origins are deeply entwined with Team Rocket and the organization's activities.

      August :: [PLOT]
      The League's interrogation of the arrested Rockets finally came to fruition; they managed to tempt information about the base's location from one of the prisoners. The desert was investigated once more, this time under the premise that the sandstorms perhaps weren't natural and the Pokémon were under Rocket control. The veterans sent on the investigation were able to obtain photographic evidence of the Rocket headquarters buildings, prompting the League to organize an assault.

      At the same time, a Rocket planted in Kodo's police force caught wind of the base's discovery and passed word on to his superiors so that Team Rocket could make its own preparations to abandon its headquarters.

      September 6 :: [RAID] :: [RAID]
      Time was of the essence, and the Pokémon League sent out a distress call to assemble as many capable trainers as possible. They split into teams and, alongside League officials and representatives from the League's Special Operations Squad of Kanto, headed out to intercept the fleeing Rockets and capture their base. Throughout the desert, the teams encounter Rocket transports and waged battle. In the midst of the chaos, a deafening explosion ripped through the desert, kicking up a wall of sand and debris in its wake: The Rockets had destroyed their own headquarters.

      In an effort to escape the trainers, one Rocket group detonated their own transport vehicles, badly injuring many of the trainers. Despite this, the League was able to capture several Rockets, including Elite Agent Lucas, and brought the total number of Rocket prisoners up to an amazing 21.

      October
      Team Rocket acquired a shipment of Carbink from the Kalos region and sent them into the labs for experimentation. A team of Rocket geneticists embarked on a lengthy journey of trial and error to attempt to find the combination of genes that would give them a Diancie.

      November 24 :: [ORP]
      When former trainer Ray heard the story of the Jirachi that had been found, she was able to come up with a few theories regarding some strange events near her home in Sagestone. After telling the other trainers that she was going to investigate, she disappeared for several weeks. Worried about her fate, the trainers put a group together and headed to Sagestone in hopes of finding Ray.

      After a bit of effort, Ray was discovered in the thickly forested mountains. She had trapped a group of suspicious individuals in an abandoned mineshaft but was now at a stalemate; they couldn't leave, but they had one of her Pokémon and vastly outnumbered her. With her rendezvous with the other trainers, though, she was then able to act.

      The trapped people were a part of an organization that dealt Pokémon on the black market, including legendary Pokémon like the found Jirachi, and the mine was full of captive Pokémon intended to be sold as merchandise. The Jirachi, having hoped to learn more about her identity, was left with more questions than answers.

      The group turned out not to be the Rockets that the trainers had expected but rather members of a Camphoreon gang known as the Griffs. The members were arrested and the Pokémon set free, but even such a significant setback wouldn't put an end to the entire operation.

      December
      Elite Agent Harvard transferred to another region. Whispers of some sort of scandal followed her, but no concrete information ever came to light.

      December 3 :: [PLOT]
      Following the loss of their base, Team Rocket had taken refuge in the outposts scattered through Kodo and other regions. In their efforts to retrieve their captured members, they struck a deal with the League: Dragon Champion Lance, whom they'd held prisoner for years, in exchange for all of the arrested Rockets. The deal came with an additional caveat that the League would have to leave Kodo permanently and stay out of Rocket affairs.

      The League agreed, though they had no intention of complying with Team Rocket's demand. Their plan was to create a new organization under a different name and continue to fight Team Rocket with even greater ferocity.

      However, Team Rocket hadn't been entirely truthful with their end of the bargain either. The chip maintained by Agent Faleen was used to destroy Lance's memories and personality, reverting him to the condition of a toddler who could not yet even speak. The League quickly discovered Lance's state once the exchange was complete, and when they called off the deal and demanded reparations, Team Rocket shot and killed Lance.

      Naturally, the League abandoned their plan to establish a new organization, but still they resolved to redouble their efforts against Team Rocket. Officer Petra Rall of the Kanto Special Operations Squad transferred to Kodo to become the Commander of the new Kodo Special Operations Squad, and the KSO began to accept volunteers and officer-hopefuls.

2014
      January 7 :: [ORP]
      With the construction of a new headquarters building already underway, Agent Tambrey of Team Rocket's science department took the initiative to call a meeting to discuss the security options to protect the new base. The building, located entirely underground beneath Elemi Lake in the Cypress Forest, would necessitate measures different from the sandstorms, aggressive Pokémon, and automated turret system that had been used to defend the desert base. The result of the discussion was the decision to use Agent Faleen's brain chip project to turn some of the native Pokémon population into drones that could discreetly monitor the entire forest for suspicious activity.

      February
      Elite Agent Kunai transferred away from headquarters.

      April 20 :: [PRP]
      Grunts Kyle and Lu, spending some time outside of the cramped Ambergris outpost, were interrupted by an unseasonable flurry of snow, and the source was determined to be the legendary Pokémon Articuno. Kyle attempted to contact the base and call for backup, but technical issues prevented his call from being answered. Lu, enthralled by the legendary Pokémon, approached it despite Kyle's warnings, and the Articuno responded with aggression.

      The Grunts returned to the Ambergris outpost frozen and fortunate to be alive and unharmed, and their report prompted Team Rocket to begin investigating the possibility of tracking down and capturing the legendary bird.

      May
      Elite Agent Hayes returned to the Kodo base to help the technology department maintain the new security system.

      May 1 :: [ORP]
      Construction of the new subterranean headquarters finally came to an end, and Team Rocket began to move its scattered personnel and equipment into its new home. It was discovered, however, that things weren't going quite perfectly smoothly: strange power fluctuations were occurring here and there. The culprit was identified as a shiny Joltik that had likely ridden in on someone without their knowledge and was now feeding on the base's electricity. Agent Tambrey captured the menace before it could do much harm.

      May 16 :: [RAID]
      After laying low for so long, Team Rocket was now fully prepared to get back to its regular activities. For their first mission, a team was dispatched to the non-League region of the Decolore Islands in response to a Ranger advertisement that a legendary Pokémon had been befriended and would be presented to the public for educational purposes in a special one-time event. Not knowing what Pokémon they would find, the Rockets disguised themselves as tourists and gathered at the presentation site, splitting up to gather intelligence.

      Elite Claire, watching from the Rockets' docked boat, expressed suspicions about a pink-haired woman and her companion that were in attendance, and upon seeing the former's face, she put out an alert that Team Galactic was possibly present. With the rival team's boss still in their possession and no clear idea of why Galactic would be there, the Rockets decided to continue with their original mission - though tensions ran considerably higher.

      The presentation began, and the legendary Pokémon Keldeo was introduced. On their signal, the Rockets attacked, aiming to incapacitate the Keldeo or obtain a viable DNA sample as well as to capture the potential Galactics. Though things with the Keldeo went about as expected, the alleged Galactics were more prepared than the Rockets had anticipated. The pink-haired woman, protected by a Cofagrigus, used a plain-looking handheld device that forced all of the Rockets' and Rangers' Pokémon back into their pokeballs. She then released a massive Yveltal to aid in her and her companion's escape, dealing grievous injuries to the Rockets when they attempted to give pursuit.

      The mission's original objective was accomplished, but the Rockets were left to wonder if Team Galactic was going to become a threat to them once more.

      June 27 :: [RAID]
      Reports of Galactic's downed and allegedly crashed airship sparked a mission to investigate. Once inside, it became apparent the ship had indeed crashed for some as yet unknown reason. Dead bodies and a strange, cryptic symbol painted in blood led the team to believe everyone had fled the scene, but during their investigation through the eery, half-lit remains of Galactic's former base, they occasionally heard the voice and not-too-sane ramblings of someone still alive, though efforts to locate him in the beginning proved fruitless. Instead, a bit of searching yielded them some items needed to operate an elevator that took them straight to Deimos's quarters, in which they found a variety of tools, some viable Shaymin DNA, and a cryptic message written violently upon his workbench: "JUST DESSERTS"

      Back downstairs the team finally discovered someone, a second person named Daniel, who freely gave them a great deal of information: Deimos's abduction had drawn Tethys away to locate him, and in her prolonged absence, one Fenrir proclaimed himself the new leader but couldn't handle the surge of power he gave himself, and things quickly devolved to lots of bloodshed and mutiny. In the ensuing chaos Fenrir was killed and the airship crashed. A number of Galactics left after that while others stayed, but eventually everyone either left or died and only two remained: Daniel and David, the insane one they'd heard earlier.

      After finding a lonely Chatot named Potato who attempted to impress the team with its impression of Commander Tethys, the team took both Daniel and the Chatot downstairs where Daniel showed them a secret passage (crudely made through the wall and lots of insulation) down to the bottom level, which may have been why David had been so elusive. The remains of Galactic's tech department was next to be investigated, though the search yielded little: A few hard drives in the main room, a computer that responded to voice activation which they were unable to hack into, and a strange, partially broken device that resembled a Volbeat. After taking the hard drives and leaving the rest, the team descended to the science labs, but before they could get much further, David sneaked into and locked himself inside the control room before activating the airship's still-functioning self-destruct sequence. A deranged farewell to Tethys echoed over the loudspeakers - David had mistaken the team for her and thus lost what little remained of his sanity - as the team rushed to reach the exit before the whole thing exploded. Luckily they managed to get far enough away from the blast radius to escape fatality, if only barely, but all of the items that had been left behind or that had been too large to retrieve were permanently lost.

      July 4 :: [ORP]
      One week after the mission team returned from the grounded Galactic airship, they were summoned to a meeting. Surprisingly, the meeting was presided over by an Executive Agent, who rarely interact with anyone other than Elites. Executive Clover discussed with the Rockets what they had seen at the airship and tried to make sense of the strange things they had encountered. They were unable to reach any solid conclusion from the shaky evidence they had, and Clover determined from the Rockets' opinions that their next course of action regarding Team Galactic should be to put out a warrant to Rockets throughout the world for the pink-haired woman they had seen at the Decolore Islands in hopes that her apparent ties to Team Galactic meant she could provide the answers they sought.

      Agents Aulus and Tambrey, while in the wild, became the next Rockets to encounter the legendary Articuno. The bird seemed to express some interest in seizing their bug-type Pokémon for food, but it surrendered its efforts when the Rocket pair resisted it. The Articuno escaped before reinforcements could be dispatched.

      November 28
      After more than a year of research and experimentation, the Carbink project finally bore fruit. From the essentially infinite array of genetic combinations they could try, Team Rocket's scientists at last found one that yielded a Diancie. In testing its stability, they found that, unfortunately, their Diancie was only a true Diancie in appearance, being much less powerful than a genuine article and lacking the ability to create diamonds that would hold their shape for more than a few minutes at most. Team Rocket determined the specimen was at least viable as a sample for cloning so that they could begin selling the Pokémon.

      January :: [PLOT]
      Over the winter months, a team of archaeologists studied a site that was discovered in the Skypeak Mountains by a group of miners. By the start of the new year, they were nearly prepared to share their findings with the rest of the region and the world.

      February 13 :: [ORP]
      An exhibit opened in the Jinko Regional Natural History Museum to display a collection of artifacts retrieved from the Skypeak Mountains. A lecture was held to explain the implications of these findings: In the distant past, Arceus visited early Kodoan civilization and was given aid by them, and in return it allegedly helped them to better commune with Pokémon. Scholars theorize that this was when people and Pokémon first began to form relationships. A map found amidst some of the other papers at the site suggested that other similar Kodoan communities existed elsewhere in the region, and the archaeological team set out in hopes of finding more pieces of the puzzle.

      March 16 :: [PLOT]
      Having given up on finding anything on the Calamus Plains, which had been ravaged by storms for centuries, the archaeologists turned their full attention to the northern shore. Just when it seemed their search would bear no results, the team began to pull up pottery fragments and other evidence of civilization - it seemed that the theories held true, and the society that had once existed near the shore had fallen into the sea through erosion. Of particular interest, however, was an unidentifiable, glowing, egg-shaped white object noticed in the depths of a ravine. The team attempted to retrieve it, but whenever anyone got close, they would become afflicted with headaches and nausea; if the feelings were ignored and the affected individual pressed on, they would lose consciousness. The object was deemed toxic, but before it could be safely extracted, the legendary Pokémon Groudon threatened the region.

      March 19 :: [ORP]
      The northernmost areas of Camphoreon were evacuated shortly after it was discovered that Groudon was crossing the ocean in a beeline towards the region. The Pokémon League, together with the KSO and the regional police force, set up a barrier to keep unauthorized individuals away from the coastline, and dozens and dozens of people gathered in preparation for the possibility that Groudon's intentions were violent. Team Rocket, wanting to keep an eye on the situation but not wanting to risk exposing themselves, sent out a team to perform covert surveillance. Groudon arrived, and, with the help of the Jirachi Northern's translations, Alder learned that it had come in pursuit of Arceus. Groudon raised a pillar of earth from the sea, and upon it sat the white, egg-shaped object that the archaeologists had found. After studying the object, Groudon decided that the egg was only a fragment of Arceus's power and that it would need to continue its search elsewhere. The legendary Pokémon departed the region without incident.

      A new kind of chaos stirred on the beach in the wake of Groudon's departure as the two organizations watching the events decided on how to proceed. The League knew it would need to defend the egg until they could build a facility to contain it, and Team Rocket wanted to look for an opportunity to claim the egg as their own. The KSO assigned all of its operatives to the shore to guard the site, and Team Rocket borrowed a stealth submarine from a branch in Hoenn to use for safe surveillance.

      April 10 :: [ANNOUNCEMENT]
      The KSO trainers who were assigned to guard the egg and the Team Rocket operatives manning the submarine began to experience faint but persistent headaches that plagued them at all hours of the day, regardless of whether or not they were on duty.

      April 15 :: [ANNOUNCEMENT]
      The Team Rocket and KSO members stationed at the oceanfront became able to understand certain types of Pokémon! Around the same time, Camphoreon residents began to be afflicted with headaches.

      April 22 :: [ANNOUNCEMENT]
      The ability to understand Pokémon spread through Camphoreon, and all over the region, people began experiencing headaches.

      April 27 :: [ANNOUNCEMENT] [PLOT]
      Construction on the facility to house the Egg of Arceus finished. Despite this, throughout the region, Kodo residents gained the ability to understand some types of Pokémon. Combined with the archaeological discoveries made back in January, scholars put together a comprehensive theory on what they believe is the most likely answer to the question of what happened to early Kodoan society.

      May 16 :: [ORP]
      During a routine training mission guided by Elite Agent Rook, the participating Rockets suddenly faced an Articuno and its two chicks. Rook drew the parent Articuno away, leaving the grunts and trainees to handle the juveniles. After an arduous battle, they managed to capture one of the legendary Pokémon to bring back to headquarters for research and cloning.

      June 7 :: [RAID]
      Word came to headquarters that the small Kalos branch of Team Rocket had a lead on Xerneas's whereabouts but did not have the manpower to capture it themselves. As a mission team dispatched from Kodo towards Kalos's Reflection Cave, the situation rapidly changed: the Kalos Rockets monitoring Xerneas's movements had been noticed and were now being pursued by the Champion Diantha. The Kodo Rockets arrived in Kalos and intercepted a team of Rangers who were on their way to rendezvous with Diantha. Using their uniforms, the Rockets were able to get close to Diantha and Xerneas with minimal suspicion - or so they thought.

      Once ascertaining Xerneas's safety, Diantha subtley tested the Rockets and eventually determined that they were not what they claimed to be. Fortunately, the Rockets were able to escape from Diantha and corner Xerneas so that they could capture it. Even then the Rockets were not yet out of the woods; as if sensing the disappearance of the Life Pokémon, the Pokémon of the Kalos region began to gather around the area and attack the Rockets, ultimately resulting in an array of serious injuries as well as the apparent death of Grunt KO.

      July 19 :: [PRP]
      In a nondescript white room allegedly somewhere in Kalos, Grunt KO awakened. He was told that he had been gravely wounded and had been comatose since the mission. Now, however, he seemed to be in good health and had woken with no issues, so he was transported back to Kodo, where he would be hailed as a ghost, zombie, or hallucination by those who were certain that he had died.

      August 15 :: [PRP] :: [PRP]
      Rocket prisoner Izaya, having been stripped of his status as a member of the team and deemed a traitor to the organization, became a guinea pig for a joint-department project that would improve Team Rocket's security and espionage abilities. He underwent a surgery that essentially turned him into a direct link to Team Rocket's intelligence department - complete with the ability to self-destruct if ever he acts in a way that Team Rocket doesn't like.

      August 19 :: [PRP]
      When a Sharpedo washed up dead with no identifiable cause of death, Agents Aulus and Tambrey began to suspect foul play and, following a dismissal of the issue from HQ, set out to investigate the matter themselves. Aulus sent his Lugia, fitted with an array of cameras and sensors, into the ocean to search for clues. The waters grew murky, and a sudden attack by a school of Sharpedo forced the Lugia above the surface, where it found itself fired upon by missiles through the dense fog.
