TOMES:
Volatile Embers
Magical Incantation: Firiem Ignisten Category: Battle Tome Type: Support Description:
This tome instructs the user in tapping into the latent heat around the caster. When mastered, this spell imbues the surrounding battle area with increased receptivity to fire magic. All firani spells cost 5 less energy for 5 turns (this applies to every firani spell cast on the current battlefield, ally or foe).
Highly social and focused on her own base desires, Naita is as free and untamed as the sea she loves. She is as easy to please as to anger: Give her a pack to run with, give her something to fight, something to eat, and somewhere to sleep, and she is happy. Naita will take any excuse for a celebration. Living for the moment, she likes to let loose and have fun.
When she finds something (or someone) that gives her a high, be it from the outside or the inside, she finds it hard to let it go. Although she loves Magescian alcohol (in limited quantities, of course) other Khehora are her largest addiction, but she will accept magescian company: having been surrounded by her fellows all her life, she needs people like a drug.
Naita does not do well alone and unentertained. She is lost without her people and her vices and, just as she is easily pleased and angered, so too does she also bore. Normally cheerful, she has trouble keeping her mood up when out of trouble, necessitating a return to trouble. This is a vicious cycle, and it generally means that Naita has trouble laying low.
Though certainly capable of long-term plans and complicated strategy, Naita prefers to leave such things to other people. She is a creature of brawn, not brain, and is proud of it. She is not particularly patient and is willful, free-spirited, and not keen on being commanded around... but she isn't actually that hard to manage. If she gets what she wants – and again, her needs are simple - and she will be happy to do what you want. She can be a valuable asset when managed properly, intelligent enough to carry out the schemes of a mastermind, but not so ambitious that she will backstab and betray to meet her ends, or so lazy that she will cut corners.
Naita favors charging headfirst (and blazing) into the fray. Despite this recklessness, she makes a good addition to a team, mainly because she considers her teammates to come first. As long as you are on her side, she will go out of her way to help you out, and it is rare to find a truer friend than Naita.
Of course, sides and alliances do change, and Naita changes with it, and friends today could be enemies tomorrow. In the end she enjoys what time she can with her friends and welcomes them back to her with open, embracing wings when the tides of life have shifted them back to her side.
Naita is a proponent of no-hard-feelings. Ferocious and bloodthirsty she may be, but not vengeful. She feels vengeance, sure, and the desire for revenge, but this is often only short-lived and spur-of-the-moment, never a long-term grudge. She forgets most slights after a while, and is fairly forgiving. She generally expects others to do the same, and feels hurt and confused when she is not herself forgiven. To her, the issue is over and done and closed.
She may forget bad feelings, but good feelings stick around. Naita is always willing to make a new friend, and happy to keep them. She does not do well when alone, so she is far from picky. A former enemy, to her, makes as good a friend as a clutchmate, and she will happily chat up perfect strangers. A friend will stay a friend, no matter what they are or what they do, and even a Magescian might find their way into her heart.
Confident in her ability to handle herself, Naita has few fears. Retreat is not a thing she really understands how to do: she's always won in the past, why would she need to run now? Fortunately, her friends can counteract her stupidity and get her out of there before she comes to any real harm. She's always ready for a rematch, though, or a friendly fight.
Sired by a wandering Firani Khehorian out to see the world, Naita was born to a tribe in a beautiful, hidden seaside cove ringed by tidal caverns, crowned with a few trees and blessed with decent game and great fishing, located in the unclaimed and untamed oceans in the Serenia/Ayr/Eowyn region. In a clan of primarily Peisio and Ayrala Khehora with a smattering of Kiandri, Naita was unusual in that she was a Firani, and the only one in her clutch. Despite her magic, her seaside home instilled in her a love of the sea and a knowledge of how to deal with it, despite her elemental opposition to it.
Naita's was a Peisio Merkkhora who was one of the tribe's elders and had many responsibilities aside from her clutch. As such, she was – by necessity – slightly distant from her offspring, having to split her time between clan and clutch. Fortunately, several large clutches had been hatched at once, and so – to take the pressure off all the parents – the hatchlings were raised communally by the somewhat small tribe. Thus, all the orakoi from these clutches got optimum care, and became very close to each other.
As they grew older, this large group of infants began to split, as groups often did, into smaller cliques and groups, each with their own interests, needs, and specialities. Naita's group consisted of the Peisios Kikandar, Versmel, and Socrata, the Kiandris Mikaji and Jomish, the Ayrala Ukari, and of course herself. Their binding principle was exploration: They were going to break free of the isolation of their paradise home, see the world, and have fun while doing it.
And so, when they became Orakovan, they did just that: Naita and her troop dubbed themselves the Stormwinds and set out across the clear waters of the ocean for adventure. They soon discovered the fun magescan inventions of ships, and also the cargo within. They became ocean raiders, wrecking ships, pillage the wreckage, and then enjoy the cargo within, throwing the crew to the unforgiving waters.
They made a great team, and were proud to have each others backs. Their lifestyle was such for many years, and their troop terrorized the seas between Ayr and Serenia. It was a good life.
The first Mara invasion ruined it. The Stormwinds, being on the sea and rarely ever anywhere civilized, knew little of the Mara and cared little as well. When they saw the large carrier ship, they thought it was just another ship, going to who-cared-where, full of tasty food and booze and other shiny things. They were not expecting warriors of stone and metal. Most of the group were badly injured in that fight, and Versmel and Socrata were killed by still-active submerged Mara while trying to retrieve things from the wreckage on the seafloor.
Being so tight-knit, the loss of members of their family hit the Stormwinds hard. They grieved, they fought, and finally – to preserve what was left of their friendship – they split up, each one going their separate ways with the promise that, one day, they would all meet again.
Thus, Naita – who had never been alone in her life – was alone, without her comerades and far from home. She wandered, first through the nearby Ayr, where she met a young dovaa named Zamanavyi, then through Serenia where she fought through dragons and even took on a pet: the leklan Cid.
Cid became her fast friend, despite his edibility, his soft fur and company easing her loneliness somewhat. It was only when she met the Orderite Avani that she really began (with help) to befriend the beast, and soon his status as her traveling companion became set. She carried him from place to place, feeding him on grass and shrubs and berries on her adventures, which eventually took her to the dark land of Soldul. There, she met a young Ysali khehora named Malta, who was training for a fight, and she helped her for a time...
That is, until she was kicked out for stealing. A ridiculous charge, in Naita's opinion, but in an attempt to prevent them from eating her pet, she left. She wandered the dark land for a time, alone save for her leklan. It had begun to seem to her that she would, forever, be alone.
Until she met Ebalia: The fierce young Oblivionite mage who used blood to make dragons die and bandits dance. Naita helped her survive a dragon onslaught, and Ebalia cured Naita of the dragon's poison, and thus was the friendship born. Naita found herself inclined to wait for Ebalia, whenever she would come, and enjoyed the girls company more than she ever thought she could with a Magescian.
They explored the woods around Obsidian city, and found a khehora egg. Ebalia wanted to bond to it, Naita wanted it to hatch free, but in the end she did not do as she may have thought she should: she let Ebalia take the egg. It upset her for a few days, but she soon forgave Ebalia, as she did all slights, and their adventures soon continued... to a small village hard hid by Orderite raiders.
To Naita, it was a shame that the raiders were not a challenge. Easily defeated with blood magic, claws, and flame, Naita – a raider herself – was suddenly a hero. Moreso, they had treasure and the raider's ship. Naita had always wanted a ship – a mobile lair on the water – and was delighted when it was given to them and set into the water by the grateful townsfolk.
The egg hatched on board, bonding to Ebalia, and Naita knew, as she looked out at the open sky and waves, that it was the start of a new chapter in her life. In an odd way, the Stormwinds had been reborn... and she wouldn't have to be alone again.
Currently: Naita and Ebalia are sailing the seas, out for adventure. Sure the ship needs some fixing up, a crew, and a new name, but Naita is happy to be on it, and – most of all – to have the sea all around her.

Thoughts on the Great Engagement:
The what what? Naita does not care about war or peace. She is independent and follows her own path irrespective of nations or alliances. She worships no god, and cares for no side. She does what she pleases.
Thoughts on Magescians:
To Naita, the lives of most Magescians are about as meaningful to her as the fish and game she eats for breakfast. She doesn't outright hate them, and – especially if she is on land – she will not go out of her way to attack them.
As for specific race, she doesn't see any of them as better or worse than the other. Its not that she's completely race-blind – she knows they're different (Orderites fly better and use light magic, Oblivionites have natural weapons, Dovaa have elemental powers and some can be dragons, etc) and treats them accordingly, but she doesn't really differentiate between them otherwise: they are really just really presumptuous meat that happens to make booze and decent conversation.
She is perfectly willing to make friends with them: they are fun, cute, and maybe she even likes them. But they are also tasty and, to some extent, even for those she cares enough about to not have for dinner, she will always think of them as a pet, like a leklan or a sheron.
Thoughts on the Dragons:
They're dragons; dangers to be hunted and killed for necessity and fun. Nothing more or less.
Thoughts on the Khehora
Naturally inclined to her own kind, Naita is very comfortable around her fellow khehora, hostile or not.
She has some slight prejudices and preconceptions about certain clans, but she tends to appreciate and is usually friendly (initially) with all khehora she meets.
Thoughts on Bonded
Naita feels sorry for the poor bastards, deprived of their magic, but she is perfectly willing to chat them up, and even hang around their bonded if they are good company.
Thoughts on Clans
Ysali Naita is slightly protective of the Ysali clan. For all their healing and poisons and such, they are so, so very flammable.
Ayrala Naita likes to make fun of the 'Airheads' a bit, but their mastery of their element and what they can do with that mastery is something she really appreciates and can respect.
Kiandri Naita loves Kiandri: Sometimes she wishes she had been born to that clan. Then she remembers how awesome fire is. She has an appreciation for their speed and for their strength.
Peisio Naita loves Peisios. She feels a kinship with them through their shared love of water, and is very respectful of their power over her own element, their healing abilities, and also their swimming and diving abilities, which she cannot share. Any opportunity to chat up a Peisio is welcome and taken, and even Peisio Dovaa can be considered in this. She just adores the clan.
Firani Despite sharing a clan, Naita is sort of aloof to her fellow Firani. Their aversion to water turns her off a little, and she feels that she has little in common with them.
Aiskala A little cold for Naita's taste, she's a little wary of them, but otherwise neutral.
Gaili Naita likes the solidity of their element, but at the same time finds it boring. She'll be friendly though, just to make sure they aren't hiding something fun under their boring magic.
Aedaun A little too holier-than-thou for her taste, she sort of treats this clan with snide snarkiness and a few pinches of sass.
Diabi Naita is willing to deal with the dark-kin, if they are willing to not vanish into the shadows. She finds that kind of creepy.
Ebalia: An Oblivionite Bloodmage who saved Naita's life and decided to go to sea with her on their new boat. Naita values her friends highly so, edible or not, she's loyal to her. That, and she doesn't want to get on the Oblivionite's bad side. She's seen what happens. It ain't pretty.
Hiyuu: Ebalia's Ayrala bonded. Snarky little brat, but Naita can't help but feel a bit of sympathy for the bonded. After all, he can't be as big and strong as her! She feels she's got an obligation to him and his bonded, and cant help feeling a little guilty because she was, on some level, unwilling to take on his egg as hers...
Avani: An Orderite living in rural Serenia who has a house for khehora, claims one as her daughter, and is a good hand with leklan. Naita thinks she's completely crazy... so much so that Naita has no choice but to respect the sheer volume of crazy that this woman has. Avani is firmly on the do-not-eat list... If such a thing existed.
Neutral
Malta: A Ysali khehora alchemist Naita met and helped to train in Soldul. She was a determined one, and Naita could see she had a spark of passion in her, more than the others saw anyway. Naita hopes she did well with whatever she was training for.
Zamanavyi (Red): An Aiskala dovaa who helped Naita out against some Ysali dragons. An amusing aquaintence, but not on the do-not-eat list. Just the 'fun' list.
Braith: ...
Criani: ...
Honoka: ...
Negative
Other
Cid : Cid is Naita's beloved pet leklan, full of fluff and terror at the carnivore who won't leave him alone. Cid's misery is only abated by the fact that he now considers her to be, partially, his flock from sheer force alone and also because Naita is naturally very warm in temperature. Personality wise, he is a fearful, protesting, plaintive, cuddly creature who has a knack for getting into and out of danger without a scratch.
Rangion Melathirri: An Orderite/Oblivionite hybrid who saved Naita's life alongside the energetic Red. Naita appreciates his help and appreciated his company, but they parted on roughly neutral terms...
The Crew of the ???
???: yes its a ship
The Stormwinds
Kikandar: A peisio khehora of the Stormwinds, Kikandar was one of Naita's closest friends growing up. He was fairly serious, even then, and – along with Jomish – was one of the main members of the 'winds who determined which marks to hit and which to avoid. Versmel and Socrata were his blood-siblings, and their deaths affected him deeply. He was pretty shattered emotionally when the group disbanded, and Naita suspects he may have returned home...
Versmel: Versmel was a Peisio khehora of the Stormwinds. He was big, even for a khehora, and did a lot of the heavy lifting of the group, including retrieving the hauls (all members assisted with carrying). He was usually a gentle soul, but could be mercurial and violent in his temper. Generally if there was an internal fight among the group, he was both the instigator and the peacemaker. He perished to the Mara. (Dead)
Socrata: Socrata was a peisio khehora. Closer to her clutchmate Kikandar than to Versmel, Socrata – or Socra as she was called – was one of the big strategists of the group. Of course, her strategy focused on hitting and how to hit, but unlike Versmel, she was less likely to do the actual hitting. Her main role in the group was in locating the sunken marks and retrieving the treasures, as she had a good sense of currents and where things fell in the ocean. Unfortunately, this is what killed her – she was among those killed by the sunken Mara. (Dead)
Mikaji: Mikaji is a kiandri khehora. Broody and slightly tempermental as well as mischevious, he felt he put the storm in the Stormwinds. Typically, he – as well as Naita – were a part of the striking force, the ones that did the actual damage to the ship. Quick witted and flexible, he was the best at adapting to odd or unusual situations and it is likely because of his ingenuity that they didn't all die against the Mara. However, the loss of his sweetheart Socrata was not something he could adjust to quickly and he suffered many serious injuries in the Mara encounter. Though Kikandar's healing abilities saved Mikaji's life, he found it difficult to move. Naita suspects he did not go home, but otherwise has no idea what his fate may be...
Jomish: Jomish, a kiandri, is technically Mikaji's uncle, though they are the same in age. Fairly responsible, Jomish was the main emotional 'glue' that held the Stormwinds together. All members trusted him to be neutral, thoughtful, and empathetic and he was the one that listened to their problems. Along with Kikandar, he also served as one of the scouts for the group, picking out targets and relaying information to Socrata and the others for a strategic strike. His empathy worked against him: though he himself only had minor injuries, Versmel and Socrata's death, Kikandar's grief, Mikaji's injuries, and the resulting group instability affected him deeply. Naita knows that he is probably doing the same thing she was doing: wandering without a purpose, trying to survive and make sense of things.
Ukari: Ukari is an Ayrala with an especially dark and sly sense of humor and a hedonistic love of life. He and Naita used to be – in their younger days – something akin to an item. Their hatchling crush eventually became more like respectful friendship, especially as his preferences moved and shifted towards opposite ends, but they have always been close. Ukari's role in the group focused on controlling their mark's movements, using the wind and currents to bring them into the right place for an ambush. He was injured – enough to render him sightless in one eye – but was otherwise fine. When the group disbanded, he sort of aimlessly (and boredly) wandered off. Naita suspects he is on Eowyn somewhere, likely around the Magescian settlements.

Firani Spells
Increased Magical Attack Versus Ysali and Aiskala Dovaa and Khehora (x2 Damage)
Decreased Magical Attack Versus Peisio and Gaili Dovaa and Khehora (x.5 Damage)
Magical Damage Increase When Foe is Burned (+10 Intellect)
Fire Spin Controlling the fire, the Firani blasts off a circle of flames around the opponent, not allowing them to escape or dodge an attack for their next attack. Also burns the enemy for 5 Fire Damage. Costs 35 Energy (When INT > 15)
Burnt Flesh Burn the flesh of your foes. Whenever a fire attack hits, there is a 25% chance of burning for 2 additional turns, allowing the magical damage increase to take effect and causing an extra 10 fire damage each turn the burn is active. This stacks with Eternal Flame as well during the Master stage. If both debuffs are upon the enemy, than every attack is multiplied by 2 as well as causing both sets of extra DoT fire damage. (When INT > 25)
Phoenix Ashes Rise from the ashes. If your health goes below 10% of its total without killing you, you can instantly heal yourself for however much ENG you wish to spend on the healing. 1ENG = 1LP. You cannot go below 10ENG with this spell. (When INT > 40)
Attack
Unarmed Attack [Savage] - 5 ENG DMG per ATK point: 5
Naita claws at her enemy
Armed Attack []- 15 ENG UNAVAILABLE: ATK > 20 DMG per ATK Point: 10

Abilities
Swim Despite her opposing element, Naita can swim fairly well and is reasonably comfortable in the water
Flame Blast Very unsubtle, but it works. Just blast them with fire and let it sort things out...
Kick a** and chew your bones Naita has a high tolerance for pain, and her strategy is usually some variation of charging in, guns blazing, and let the chips fall where they may. Somehow, shes not dead yet.
Produce Heat Just because Naita is not subtle doesn't mean she can't be. Her magic allows her to heat up herself and her surroundings, and this is how she can tolerate chilly seas and cold nights...

[] Naita is looking to meet various people, including people who can help her later on, especially healers.
[] Naita is looking for a crew for her ship. Suggestions are great, esp if they are NPC family members. Orderites and Orderite hybrids are looked on with suspicion (and hatred) by her partner, but all others are welcome to be suggested!
[] Naita is looking for people to raid with her pirate ship! Contact Draconicfeline or Mriae for possible attacks!
Naita relaxed on a sunny rock and let her meal digest. Swells, she'd been hungry, hungry enough for that mere morsel to feel like a major haul. Like the good ol' days. Except, all it had been was one tiny bird-beast and nothing else. She wondered why she hadn't added the dovaa whelp to the menu as well – the critter would have filled her up nicely. She should have, too, especially when it had gotten uppity and growly in her face.
So, why hadn't she?
Niata sighed. She supposed she'd been lonely. Plus, the magescan had saved her tail before turning around and being obnoxious. But she'd paid that back twofold, so Naita supposed it had to be loneliness.
Well, next time she'd know better than to choose the empty feeling in her heart over the empty feeling in her stomach. For now, though, she enjoyed what she was digesting already, and pretended - for the moment – that she didn't have to worry about when she would be fed again.
“Well, now what do we do” Naita asked the leklan, stretching as she blocked its escape with her tail, “You wanna explore? Go flying?” she nosed it again, “I could go for a cuddle. You look really comfortable...” And cute. Super cute.
It bleated again. “Awww...” it was upset! That made Naita want to snuggle it even more.
“Hey! You!” Naita looked up, puzzled, to find an Orderite pointing a very sharp stick at her. “Get away from my Leklan or I'll spear you! I will!”
Naita growled at him. “It's mine, now!” she said hotly. He wasn't going to take her new friend away, oh no. She was not going back to that lonlieness, “So back off, matey, or I'll burn yer fuzz off!”
The Orderite summoned a ball of dangerous looking light magic. “I warned you!” he said, throwing the magic at you, “Get off my land, you filthy creature, and leave my leklan alone!”
The solid, hot magic sliced Naita's side and neck and, angered, she roared, sending a gout of fire at the man before turning and picking up the leklan - who was shaking, terrified, and trying to flee – in her claws. “Come on, Baabaa.” she said, taking flight with her new friend dangling from her claws, “Lets go someplace quieter."
