    (Failed to capture XD)

Naita flew over the forests, carefully holding the wriggling leklan in her talons. It was hard to keep a hold on it, and She looked down at it as it squirmed, dismayed. “Hey... Matey... If you keep doing that, I'll drop you.” she commented to the creature, bringing it up to her face to get a better look. It only struggled harder, and she gripped it perhaps a little harder than she should have. It bleated in pain and, startled and concerned, Naita banked suddenly. “I ain't kidding.” she said, looking warily down at the forest and shoreline. She was not high up by her standards, but if the fluffy creature fell it would be splattered against the ground. That would just be sad. “Come on, calm down...” she tried to croon, “I'm not going to...” she hesitated, “Well, I suppose I just hurt ya, but I'm not going to eat you or nothing.. er...” she chuckled, “Unless you die. Then I guess I will.” Naita raised an eyebrow at herself. Sure. That would calm it down.

    Idiot

She set herself into a glide, heading for a nice clear spot on the beach, free of debris: just nice, soft sand. It had better be soft – she wasn't sure how she was going to land with her forepaws occupied so. She had not, she realized, planned ahead for her new friend. Ah well! The best friends, in her experience, were serendipitous. The stormborn had been brought up with her, and they'd been the best ever. The others? Kind magescans and khehora she'd met along the way. And not so kind ones. “Point is...” she said out loud, enjoying the sound of her own voice – the leklan had stopped bleating a while back and now trembled in terrified, overwhelmed silence - “You meet the best people when you're not looking for them, and I found you.... so...” she flapped her wings, coming in for an awkward landing on her hind legs. She struggled against gravity, trying to stabilize herself without smushing the creature against the sand and, somehow, managed to do it. She stood on her hind legs, taking a moment to admire her own abilities smugly before continuing: “Lets start over.”

She put the Leklan down, gently, on the sand, holding it with a paw as it's legs nearly gave way beneath it with its fear. “So. First order of business.” she began, “Ahoy. I'm Naita. I'm a Firani Khehora.” she cocked her head at the thing, which watched her with panicked eyes. The exposed whites gave it a disturbingly manic look. “...And I guess you can't talk, so I'll just do your part of the introduction.” She flicked out her tongue, “Which means you need a name and... nah, Baabaa just isn't sticking for me. How about Fleur? Hmm?” it shook, quietly, beneath her fuchsia gaze. “Cedric? Thats a good name... hmmm...” she made a dismissive motion with her tail, “Too noble for a fluffy thing like yourself.” She chuckled at the thought – the beast, with its thin stream of red (oh dear, she must have hurt it more than she thought) dying its fur – looked about the least noble thing on the planet. “Avery? Nah. Same problem. Damn...” She sat on her brisket, staring at the leklan. “This naming thing is hard!” she complained, lashing her tail, “I wish you came with a name.” But, of course, it did not. She would have to find one, though. She couldn't have a companion without a name: it just wasn't right. “Oh!” she said, suddenly, in a flash of inspiration, “Feather! How about feather?”

    The Leklan fled.

“Hey!” called Naita, scrambling to follow as the Leklan skittered desperately along the sands with its hooves, “Come back!” It hopped into the woods, and Naita followed suit, bounding between the trees and following the elusive, white fluffball...
