Background:
Hayate was born and raised within the floating village of Soragakure. He was born into the Hanaya family, a clan best known for their ability to manipulate plants. At a young age it was discovered he possessed what is widely accepted as the 'God Eye', an ability very powerful. Hayate's mother decided his future should lay in the Shinobi world, and they entered him into the academy. Despite his innate power and talent Hayate never really seemed to excel at anything. He was often sent home for daydreaming, laziness, or outright sleeping in class. Many of his sensei considered him to be such a disruption, especially because the girls could not stay away from him. Eventually Hayate managed to graduate from the Academy, and now he is 'trying' to 'pursue' his life of becoming a well known shinobi.

Unbeknownst to Hayate he is descended from an incredible lineage. His father is the famous Kazuki Shishigami, son of Akito. Hayate never had a chance to meet his father before he died, and his mother has yet to reveal this information to him.

Personality: This young Shinobi is a hard-working, yet rebellious, free guy. Kaze hates being chained down by anything besides his responsibilities. In school he had always had trouble with the teacher for not following directions, usually trying to find his own way of doing things while still getting the grade that he wanted. He's also known to take on other people's work load for a small fee, in school it was usually lunch money. In groups though he's a bit distant, keeping mostly to himself unless approached by a few select friends.

Background: Kaze was born a sickly child, the atmosphere of the skies made it hard for the young boy to do many things. His father, a medical shinobi worked tirelessly to find a way to cure his son of his frailty. After years of research he found out why his son was the way he was, the Jīngshén Clan's ability to "eat" chakra came with the price where they could only use a single element. His mother was of the Earth and his father of the Lightning. The two when mixed together had created a very large imbalance in the boy's body disrupting chakra flow. Once he figured this out, Kaze was injected with a third elemental chakra, the flow balanced itself out making the boy look and feel instantly much more healthier, his appetite doubled and he had an abundance of energy to spare. Much of this energy was put into training to be a shinobi much like his mother and father. Learning ninjutsu and taijutsu hand in hand and even creating a style that fit him the best.

After a couple years he was enrolled into the Academy and graduated at the top of his class and is trying to find his way in life, ever growing, and always free.

Personality: Perceptive, slightly formal, slow to anger but quick to act. Within the scope of battle, very little time is put into careful and strategic planning. The idea is to overwhelm with an overbearing advance; All or nothing haste is this young Aburame's weapon. Background:

On November 2nd, XXXXX, Mantus Aburame was born in the Cloud District of Soragakure. The moment the Parasitic Destruction Beetles were put into his body, a bizzare and unprecedented chemical change occured within the newborn's body. A mixture of agitated antibodies and white blood cells caused the genetic mutation to occur, and shortly thereafter, attack the 'invading' kikaichu. With the beetles infected, the cells then controlled the insects, having them act as normal while utilizing them in other bodily performances. The entire event went unnoticed, as it was entirely internal and showed no physical symptoms within the newborn babe...

Although it was not the original birthplace of his clan, Mantus himself knows Soragakure to be his first 'home'. With a setting much like Konohagakure once was (aside from being suspended at a higher altitude), the young man has been able to grow and experience the world around him just as his past clansmen once have. Not aware of his special gift, Mantus studied the way of the ninja and just how to utilize his insects in combat. Always known as a brash lad, the boy's peers regard him as foolish and untalented for having such a aggressive battle strategy. In every way, Mantus was defeated by his fellow students in battle. Naturally, he held a deep-rooted anger for his style not working, and was forced to learn other ways to implement his aggression into combat. Now a Genin, Mantus is steadily learning how to better advance with his insects. The knowledge of Soragakure's suspension revealed to him, the boy is dead-set on getting out and exploring the world. Little does he know surprises await him within his own backyard...

• Cell Mutation - Anytime Mantus' body undergoes a chemical change, his cells react to it in different ways. One example might be if Mantus is lit aflame, if he survives it, his cells will be more resistant to the element.
• Assimilation - A chemical change at birth gives Mantus the ability to control any insects he or his Kikaichū come into physical contact with. The connection between controller Mantus and slave insect works in similarity to the chemical communication between an Aburame and his own Kikaichū. One could even call this a sort of virus that infects other insects. Once infected, another chemical reaction must be made to break the insects out of his control (ultimately leading in their expiration).

Background:
Being part of the prestigious Shihōin clan, Kyro was somewhat spoiled with all that he was given by his parents. However, a lot of the Shihōin clan was coveted by some of the poor, less fortunate clans. His father drilled the principles he now lives by into his brain. To not have self pity, nor pity anyone. Everyone plays the hand they are dealt, and everyone can become great, no matter who they are. That is why Kyro never pities himself, just fights to be stronger than he was before. He was always taught to pick himself up, and help others only if they are struggling, and will not make it themselves.

These can range from memories of his or her hometown, things they have done during a certain time, or even make him or her forget the faces of his or her loved ones. Once the process is complete, the target's short term memory is also wipped, making them forget the past ten or so minutes included with the other sealed memories. To complete the genjutsu, the target must remain within the area of effect for five minutes. Leaving the area of effect or disrupting the bells will result in the genjutsu becoming null. Background:

Personality:

Zen: A believer of fate, seeing that everything is meant to happen, happens. Michiyo doesn't question things, doesn't see death as something to steal away from the world. Rather as acceptance away from all that's mortal, pain and strife forever washed away. If she were to lose, she'll accept that fate. Michiyo have always lived in the shelter of her family very much like her older brother Maxim.

Unhealthy Attraction: An obsession, one bordering if not classified as 'stalking' for intents unknown. A male by the name of Kaisen is one she follows almost blindly, attracted to him by personality, curiosity and intentions. She lusts for power and strives to seek something to help her become stronger in the end, while weak physically her interest is quite the opposite as compared to her stealth skills. She is almost overly protective of the man and will seek to become irrationally violent should something were to threaten him, or attempt to steal him away which very much contradicts her belief in Fate. This mixture of emotions is seen as one of her major flaws as it leads to stalking, following and protectively defending his life even with her own. Should a person question her of this, she'll either avoid the topic or simply answer 'He's the one.'

A Morbid Interest: Death and illness is more of a curiosity than a fear. From a sheltered life and having full custom of the family combined with the unsateful lust of both power and jutsu, Michiyo must achieve in killing others in order to grow in power. She's death as a beauty to be let free of a mortal body, referring to it as a prison to deny someone the right to paradise or eternal damnation. To her, what is life, is it grand or is it just a punishment to live in a world of pain, corruption and death. She questions this with a smile, taking interest of learning about the different ways a man can die from drowning to smothering in toxic gas, from a spear to the heart to being crushed like an insect.

Obsessive Compulsion: When something stands in the way of something she wants, Michiyo will get antsy, jealous, and lastly, compulsive. She loves things that attract her attention or have a liking to her tastes such as gems and jewels, fine silk or cute things to oddball objects to something as simple as a flower. She's known to spend every last coin or even steal to get the one thing she wants and add it to an ever growing horde of rather useless objects, referring to them as her treasures and keepsakes. She does however have a hobby of collecting mementos from a wide variety of things from a fight, an event, place, etc. These can range from a signature, a lock of hair, soil, plants, broken or intact object or anything that symbolizes it to keep as a memory. These are never large in size as Michiyo loves to keep them organized in a journal like fashion in her dictionary-sized book. She also has a love for sweets.

Personal Feelings: Michiyo isn't afraid of death, seeing as how she is willing to accept whatever fate that the gods send her way. She won't fight the ultimate decision if something cannot be changed or achieved. By nature Michiyo is very sadistic in every sense of the word for she bores very easily and finds other ways to occupy herself. Her favorite way to mess with her foe or just anyone in general is to attack their minds with illusionary skills and even confuse those by attacking the senses or making things appear different than normal.

General Behavior: Michiyo is very awkward socially and as a person, she has no boundary on what is considered normal in a society or what is considered a limit. She is, however, very intelligent but may appear a bit distant or out of the world as some call it. When not obsessing over Kaisen or something else, she's generally a fair person in terms of kindness. Although she will propose awkward questions, behavior or whatever she generally deems fit. Secluded to many whom she doesn't know, Michiyo wears and dons her mask almost twenty four hours a day in fear of a few things. She dislikes those who touch the mask or question her about it, which can lead to erratic and sometimes violent behavior from her. When speaking, she has a very old habit of speaking in her native tongue upon growing up and learning it from her close nit family while she may not notice it, she has a habit of questioning things in that tongue or answering and replying to people without thinking of it. Overall she is generally friendly with those that are her kin, blood related siblings, close friends and those she deems to be not a threat. She is not easily angered as to how her fear in death is practically nonexistent, she is however extremely protective over a few set things and has a tendency to be set off at the oddest of moments. This friendly nature also goes hand in hand with her absence in the knowledge of what is considered to be normal in society as she can push this a bit too far at times with teasing and toying with people's minds with words or her native tongue. She can be generally awkward when she means no harm, she isn't one to purposely hurt someone other than the occasional illusion montage to entertain herself which can be quite often, for she likes to muck with the appearance of things, make things that are not really there or fool with their emotions or senses. She'll only apply physical pain or magical (Jutsu) pain to those whom she does not trust or like which can lead to her sadistic "teasing."

Background:

A birth of shadow and of desire, the coming together of a taboo relationship, one of the infamous clan and one of the body flicker. A later birth of two, two soon became three of a sister and brother. The woman born and raised in the Nakamura, was never fully alike her two blood siblings, only half related to each she bore a secret that none could tell what. The amber eyes and her stark black hair betrayed her resemblance to both Maxim and Fia, along with the timing of her coming. A b*****d child of an affair, she was one of a special coincidence. Of shadow and desire, she was different, a specimen that could easily be labeled a prodigy. Michiyo lived in fear and in hate of her immediate family except for her two siblings, them who of course became very close to her. As due to tradition, she was trained from a very early age in the traditional ways of shinobi warfare. Stick to the shadows and strike in silence. From the age of eleven, the girl was already a genin and a chuunin at the age of fourteen while Jounin at sixteen. Personal Attributes:
- Look into my eyes: Michiyo requires no hand seals for many of her illusions for her genjutsu is mainly activated by that of her eye sight or hypnotic movements. By focusing with the brain as a sort of sixth sense, she inflicts illusions through sight alone, eye to eye contact isn't exactly needed and she pays 10% extra of the chakra cost to compensate. When her ocular jutsu is active, the extra cost is not needed do to the eyes affinity for Genjutsu. Jutsu cast in this method are also a 1/2 rank in effectiveness only when the kekkei genkai is active. As a draw back, her eyes drain 5 Chakra points per turn instead of the universal 1 Point. At Mangekyo stage, they'll drain 15 instead and 20 at Eternal.

Strengths:
- Illusions: While not a primary aspect of her bloodline and clan, Michiyo's skill in illusionary combat is assisted by her stealth characteristics of which that's used to fight others. To fool the mind altogether is to hide and avoid a fight altogether. To play with the mind is also an effective means of interrogation and torture suitable to the whims of her village, earning her a nickname of a Kitsune often times with her signature 'Ghost' Genjutsu.
- Stealth: A result of her gifted training from her younger years, and often enough assisted by her uncanny illusionary skills. Michiyo can easily slide a knife inbetween a man's rib cage just as easily of breaking their mind beyond repair. Despite common belief, her true strength lies in her silent skill of stabbing an opponent in the back and slipping away before any would know.
- No Fear: Michiyo is extremely loyal to that of her family and even more so to the man whom she's drawn to by curiosity and loyalty. She fears not death nor pain for it does the opposite and pleases her instead. She will not fight the inevitable should it come for her but her will shall not let harm befall her kage even should her life be of concern.
Weakness:
- Frail: Concerning combat with other melee users, her speed is her only saving grace along with her chakra enhancing techniques. Muscle wise, she is lacking.

This ninjutsu helps to cover up any sounds the user makes if they are on a mission that requires stealth. The user performs the needed hand seals and sends the molded chakra to the target’s ears. Any natural sounds in the area (running water, crickets, wind, ect…) are magnified slightly to mask any soft sounds that the user may make.

• Smell Covering
This jutsu creates a layer of chakra that masks and conceals scents. The user coats himself in a thin layer of chakra, creating an airtight seal that does not allow any scents to escape. For the next few minutes, nothing the user comes in contact with will leave a scent of any kind. The user cannot use this jutsu on other people.
B
• Chakra Hunting
When the user has been within 20 ft of a target they are hunting, and have had the ability to see their target clearly within those circumstances, using this technique will allow them to 'imprint' the target's chakra currents. This will allow the user to distinguish and track those currents easily, so long as the target is within a 2 mile radius of the user. If the user is placed under a genjutsu however, the tracking is lost. This jutsu lasts for 5 posts.
• The Art of Wire Walking
A technique that enables the user to run or walk effortlessly, on even the thinnest strand of wire. By concentrating chakra to their feet, the user is able to stabilize their weight distribution and movement on top of a wire, enabling them to run and walk on wire, rope, power lines, or any other thin surface as if it were solid ground, and act normally upon it. It takes 3 points of chakra to initiate and nothing more for upkeep.
A
• Shadow Clone
A jutsu that creates clones which are exact replicas in all respects to the user. Chakra is divided evenly between every clone and the original, so creating three clones would leave the user with one-fourth of his remaining chakra. Kage Bunshin clones are capable of using any jutsu the original shinobi knows (except Summoning and Clone jutsu), but each clone may only use one jutsu. A direct hit causes the clone to disappear, at which point any remaining chakra not used by the clone is transferred back to the user, but so is any exhaustion the clone has received. Also, when the clone is destroyed, any knowledge it receives during it's existence will be transferred back to the original user.

Fire:
• Weapon Coating
Using chakra, the user will coat the outer layer of a weapon, such as a kunai or shuriken with fire. This is performed by coating the item with chakra, then throwing the projectile, and quickly setting it ablaze via a small fire from the user's mouth. This flame is not terribly hot but can cause first degree burns as well as ignite other objects.

• Flash Flare
This technique can be described as a distraction technique. After performing the necessary seals, the user will clap their hands in front of them. Then, a flash of white flames erupts from their hands, which can blind people who are close. This technique can blind an opponent for 1 post, and then they gain their vision once more. Used correctly, this can lead up to a killing attack, or used to make a hasty getaway.

• Cinder
This technique is the first technique that actually allows the user to set most things on fire. All they need to do is focus their chakra and snap their fingers, creating the friction necessary, This will send a spark wherever they wish. Once the snapping is done, a flame nothing bigger than a cinder is created.

• Flame-Resistance
- Passive
Flame Resistance isn't something that can actually be learned. This is a passive technique, that the user gains over time. It is one of two techniques that help the user from causing themselves damage with their own fire techniques. Upon gaining this technique, the user has dealt with enough Katon jutsu to be comfortable with the growing heat, and is able to withstand certain techniques. Having this ability does not make one invulnerable to fire, just able to handle it better.

• Mythical Fire Flower
The user will focus their chakra towards their mouth in the form of heat to begin the technique. After taking in a deep breath, they will expel it at once, shooting multiple blasts of fire outward. Shurikens are then thrown towards the flame balls, to be hidden inside of them, which creates the element of surprise.

• Powerful Fireball
This is possibly the face of Katon Techniques. After performing the necessary handseals, the user must inhale deeply. Upon exhaling, they will release a large, and extremely powerful fireball. This jutsu is denser in mass than other fire releasesa, which explains its explosive nature and damage capabilities.

• Dragon Fire
This technique sends a stream of fire towards whatever direction the user is facing, spewing from the mouth. It resembles a snake-like dragon, hence the name. This technique can be considered a flamethrower, and prolonged exposure to it can alter the shape of boulders, turning them to piles of magma. This technique can be held for more posts for 2 chakra points per post.

• Fire Bed
This technique can be used offensively or defensively, and has many uses. The user must take in a deep breath after activating the necessary handseals, and will spit out an oily liquid in a direction of their choosing. It can be around them, or in front of them, behind them, as long as it is on the ground. It will rush forth, and then ignite at the users commands. This will result in a carpet of flames, obviously able to scald and burn people.

• Fireproof
- Passive
At this time, the user has developed a natural resistance to flames and knows how to properly use their Katon techniques with as little damage to themselves as possible. This passive technique helps them guard against fire and high temperatures. Simply with a constant expelling of chakra, it acts as a buffer against all forms of heat, preventing harm from touching the user. Not only are they able to protect themselves, they can place this chakra buffer onto another person, though they must be touching. [1/2 Rank in resistances against Fire techniques]

• Incendiary
The user coughs out globs of a silvery oil-like substance. These globs are highly flammable, and can be scattered around an area or even other people for maximum effect. Even the tiniest spark can light these aflame and set of explosions, based on the level of the shinobi. Chuunin can create explosions to a 5m radius. Jounin are capable of a 10m radius explosion.

• Aerial Explosion
This can be considered the sister technique of the Bed of Flames jutsu. Instead of a ground-based attack, it is based in the air. The user, after the necessary handseals, will release an odorless gas into the air. This gas can be ignited with even the smallest spark, and will do so rapidly. After igniting, the gas will expand and create strong winds in all directions. It can extend to a range of 20ft. Anyone caught in the range of the jutsu can be seriously injured with at least 1st degree burns. On top of causing burns, it can also evaporate all water of its rank or lower in its range.

• Hydra
This is the next step of the Katon: Ryuuka no jutsu. This time, instead of one flame jet, it is three. The user still must inhale deeply, and upon exhalation, they release three streams of fire at the same time. The flames are generally shooting forward, though a bit off to the left and right on either side. The fire streams resemble three snakes, hence the name of the jutsu.

• Fire Transport
This may seem like a simple getaway technique, though it is not. It is very much offensive, and deadly. Upon activating the seals, the user takes on the actual form of flames, and can travel about like that. In their wake, they leave a trail of fire, which can cause 3rd degree burns, dehydrate, and evaporate waters. This can be used to encircle an enemy in flames, or even straight up attack them.

• Electricity Resistance
- Passive
While not necessarily a technique that must be taken, most Cloud-nin are taught this at the Academy. As most know electricity in general is a deadly and somewhat scarce element, generally one could only collect the necessary electricity necessary to perform techniques if they were fighting in the middle of a thunderstorm, or near an electrical source. However current training standards in the academy show how a cloud-nin tends to make electricity through the use of chakra, turning most Cloud-nin in to human capacitors, technically. The process is generally quite painful and requires about 5 months of mental and physical conditioning to resist the charges you activate onto your body. As it is written, this technique is optional. A person who doesn't take this skill will generally feel pain when even performing their own electricity based techniques, also one who tends to take this ability tends to notice that minor shocks generally do not hurt them as badly. This Jutsu may not be copied by the Sharingan, simply because it is more of a trained skill than an actual ninjutsu.

• Burst
An overall simple move that is generally taught to genin to assist in generating and controlling chakra for the sake of ninjutsu, the shinobi vents electric chakra from his entire body, causing anyone that touches or attacks him to receive minor electrical shocks and burns. The shinobi cannot move while in this state.

• Current Transfer
An overall simple yet very effective technique, the Cloud-nin creates a sort of electrical current on his hand, this current can then be transferred onto any weapon he happens to be holding at that moment be it a kunai, senbon, shuriken, or even a sword. The next physical attack he performs is charged with this electrical current, if he blocks a weapon attack with his own weapon the current transfers over shocking the attacker. If by chance the user is not carrying a weapon he can transfer this current into his opponent's weapon shocking him, or can even hit him with this current.

• Lightning Bolt
A simple technique in concept and execution, in which the user performs the necessary handseals and then emits a short bolt of lightning from his or her hand. This is a simple bolt, akin to a fireball, as opposed to being a continuous stream. On impact, the target will suffer minor electric shocks.

C

• Lightning Blast
An upgraded version of Lightning Bolt, this jutsu works the same way except now it is a continuous blast of electricity. The blast can be ended prematurely by the user. A target hit by this technique will experience quite painful electric shocks, however they are still relatively minor.

• Electric Needle Spread
Generally used as a ranged defensive maneuver when a Cloud-nin wishes to hit multiple targets in front of him. First, he begins to grow electricity-based needles all over the front area of his body. Anyone using a taijutsu on him, between now and when he attacks, from the front side will get a slight sting, attacking from the sides or from the back is still effective however. Once the needles have grown the user then flashes one hand seal and all the electric needles launch themselves in a front spreading maneuver towards anyone in their way. Anyone who is hit by the needles receives a nasty shock and slight numbness to the afflicted part.

B

• Lightning Beam
This is the pinnacle of the single-target ranged lightning jutsu. The attack from Lightning Blast has been upgraded further, making it into a beam twice as wide as before, and much more damaging. Targets hit head-on with this jutsu will experience a fantastic amount of pain and be stunned after the jutsu ends. Also, nearly missing with this jutsu also has some effect. Because of the high amount of voltage, small lightning bolts can arc from the beam to someone standing within two feet of it, causing shocks a little bit more damaging than those of Lightning Bolt technique. This jutsu can be ended prematurely by the user.

• Chain Lightning
A useful technique generally used in an attempt to take out a group of enemies by surprise. Forming electricity into both hands the Cloud Nin launches a continuous stream of Lightning at one opponent, if the technique hits one person it immediately launches itself at the next non-friendly person in range. The lightning chain specifically targets water that is found in the body, so bunshins are generally left untouched unless it's a Water Bunshin. The original number of targets this jutsu can initially hit is three.

A

• Ten Thousand Lightning Bugs
The jutsu is just like it's name. A fairly simple, yet new technique. The user makes twenty consecutive seals ending with bird. At the end of the seal session of the jutsu, the user emits glowing chakra. It creates an aura around their body for one whole post (3 sentences long). The glowing aura then disperses from the body, and turns into what would look like Fireflies. These little fireflies are actually small balls, about a half inch in circumference, and made of pure Raiton Chakra. Once the bugs surround a certain area or abject, the ten thousand fireflies will explode once the bird seal is released. The send out an explosion of lightning about a half meter in diameter electrocuting anything and everything in their path of destruction.

• Call of Lightning
A dangerous technique not only in the sense of it's power but also by it the fact of its inability to be controlled. Forming the necessary hand seals the shinobi begins to collect mist in his immediate area much like Hidden Mist Technique, however it begins to rise and form into a thunderstorm cloud instead of laying dormant like mist does. Now powered by chakra the cloud will begin to strike random nin with lightning, the power of this lighting has the ability to cause massive third-degree burns, majorly constricted breathing, and possible fibrillation. This technique lasts for 10 minutes

• Raiden's Fury
A technique often used for the sake of demolitions purposes, the user flashes a number of seals and finally ends the series with an odd looking seal that suspiciously looks like the seal that the Yamanaka use for their own techniques. The user of this technique now must keep his eyes set on one specific object that he can see through this seal for the next two minutes, if he moves or does anything else but aim during this period the technique is canceled. After this, the skies suddenly open up, and a huge beam of white lightning strikes where the user was aiming, decimating the target and causing powerful shock waves to affect the area 500 feet from the point of impact, most likely decimating anything with a foundation. One can generally tell that this technique is occurring by the fact that the skies turn black, thunder begins sounding, and it starts to rain during the time of preparation as well as a sudden increase of heat.

A jutsu that creates an illusionary clone of the user, in numbers of one or more. The clone disappears after being struck with an attack, and can deal no damage. This jutsu is one of the basics, and required to pass the shinobi academy.

• Hell Viewing
- Handseals
A low level illusion skill, which makes the opponent envision a very traumatic scene. The genjutsu is created when the target watches the caster let sand, leaves, or other small things slip through his or her fingers onto the ground. The jutsu forces the target to think about the worst event possible for them because falling is considered to be a bad omen, and then capitalizes on that by making the target see it happen.
• False Surroundings

An illusion technique which disguises the surroundings as something else. For instance, you can make a classroom number that actually is room 201 appears as room 301... This will only work on targets no bigger than an adult man.

• Chained Mind

This technique uses intricate hand movements and subtle chakra waves to render the target hypnotized and incapable of movement. The technique is a great means of temporarily taking one target out of the battle.
• Inflict Emotion

This is a fairly high level genjutsu where the shinobi temporarily changes the emotions of the target to his/her liking. The emotions imparted can be anything from ecstasy, despair, overconfidence, grief, etc.

• World of Illusion

A technique that is meant to find out vital information from people without using physical torture, mostly on prisoners and captives. It cannot be used during battle. The victim is put into a hypnotized half-sleep like state where he/she is balancing between being conscious and unconscious. While hypnotized, a person’s inhibition is greatly lowered, and they are much more likely to comply with the hypnotist’s demands. Some victims are able to resist the technique. It can take just a few minutes or several hours but sooner or later they will break, and tell their enemies anything they need to know. Only the user can communicate with the victim. The victim cannot see or hear any other enemies or allies. Once brought back, a victim does not remember anything what happened while he/she was under the influence of the genjutsu.

• Blood Itch
- Eye Contact
This requires eye contact with the enemy. Immediately after, the victim feels an incredible itching all over his body, and invariably, he will begin to scratch. Yet, the scratching both alleviates and heightens the itching sensation. The victim scratches harder, reddening his skin, and then harder still, eventually tearing some of his clothing and right into his own flesh. Still, the itching doesn't stop—it seems to be taunting him right from his very core. The technique ends by itself after three posts; by then the victim will have scratched himself into quite the quivering, bloody mess. More than one shinobi to fall under this genjutsu has clawed himself right down to the bone.

Background: Brought into the world after a druken affair, Kirianna was resented by her mother just for being alive. She never saw her father after, didnt even get to go to his funeral. Her mother would sneer at Kiri, mutter things about a sibling, another family, whilst wishing she had never been born. Kiri grew up alone, and going to the academy did not help that in the slightest. One look at the cute girl with the dead eyes and they turned away.

At the age of ten a man came, and stole Kirianna away into the night, with the intent of sealing inside her, a most horrible monster. She questions everyday why she was taken, but given her already outsider status, she wasn't really surprised. It made school even more unbearable. The lack of sleep. Now not only did she have dead eyes, she had dark circles beneath them. When sleep came so did the nightmares of the monster, worming around in her head, changing her. after the first night, her mother started in on her, yelling getting aggressive. Kirianna snapped. She spun and kicked her mother, sending her flying through the wall and into the kitchen table. She lay there in a pool of blood, dead. Kirianna felt no remorse, just a cold sense of satisfaction. With the aid of the monster within, she dug a hole in the yard, dragged her mother out, and threw her in. The wood of the kitchen floor is still stained to this day. A happy reminder of the hateful woman being out of her life.

However after that night she never slept more than a few minutes, terrified of lashing out in a public place due to the monster. The last thing she needed was people finding out, about her mothers death. She lied, told others she ran off with some travelling shinobi. Leaving the poor girl to fend for herself. While she garnered a small amount of sympathy from the villagers, no one really reached out to the troubled girl, now all alone. She just had that nagging voice in her head. And a thirst for blood. Not too long after this, when Her father found out, He came around, trying to talk to Kirianna, sooth her, take her in. He walked into the house, the door unlocked, as no one would enter the dwelling of the young girl, out of fear of her cold, dead eyes. He walked in, unanounced, drunk, and lay his hand upon her shoulder. Kirianna reacted, purely out of instinct, and with Shukaku goading her on, she cut him open, with the knife she had been using to prepare dinner. One swift cut through his abdomen and his insides slide forth to the floor. A cold frenzy settled upon the girl and she leapt forward, dragging the knife through his flesh over and over. cackling wickedly as she did, hot spurts of blood coating her flesh.

Afterwards, she sat upon his chest, blood dripping from her hair and fists, still clutched around the knife planted firmly in his chest. She lifted her hand and tentatively licked the blood from her fingertips and shuddered. "So sweet. So sweet the life of you..." Pushing herself up she walked to the wash room to clean the blood off before retrieving her shovel and digging a second hole in the yard. she dragged her fathers corpse out and deposited it inside, before shoveling the dirt back in and patting it down. Her second kill inside of a month. Two bloodstains now adorn her kitchen floor.

Background: Born to Haru Hoshigaki and Chishin Doho, was born out of a forbidden love since both bloodlines were at war with each other at the time of Takashi's birth. There was another couple of surprises one being that unlike his mother he had no blue skin just blue hair. The other was shocking his mother died in birth, so Takashi never saw anything but pictures of her.

At the age of five was sent to the academy, then was discovered having both bloodlines of his parents. With a deep chakra pool Takashi was considered a possible natural born genius. With this fame he developed an arrogant nature which was the opposite of Chishin who was level headed and modest. Soon anger developed between the two, Takashi always said that he would surpass his father in ninjutsu in half the time. This pushed Takashi to be strong and confident pushing himself. After graduating at 8 from the academy his father was considered missing in action. It took two years for the village to confirm that his dad had been killed.

This sadden Takashi to the point where it almost engulfed his personality for awhile. His promise kept him going, to surpass his father but it wasn't just to pet his ego to show that he was stronger, it was to honor his father by protecting the village his father died for.

A versatile technique where the user can produce sharp wooden spikes from their body to either fashion short-range weapons akin to a makeshift sword, or else use them as long-range projectiles, where the branches' growth can be triggered remotely, skewering the enemy as a result.

• Wood Clone
- Rank: C
A clone that is created by using chakra to alter the user's own cells into vegetation. The clones can be as simple in function as a wooden dummy for use in the Body Replacement Technique or completely mobile and able to perform techniques. They have the ability to travel far from the user and are able to communicate with the original. Moreover, since the wood clone has the ability to merge with plants and trees, it is also great for reconnaissance missions. By directly touching the wood clone with his hand, the user can absorb the information it gathered and change the shape of the clone.Unlike the Shadow Clone Technique, the wood clone doesn't disappear when hit and even appears to take the damage. If a wood clone is changed into a seed and ingested into the body or left on a target, it can be used as a transmission device of sorts. The user can use these to track their target as the seeds respond to their chakra only.

• Threefolded Wooden Shield

The user forms a shield of wood, which consists of three round parts out of their hand. The shield is very durable and can be removed and reconditioned any time the user wants to.

• Four Pillar House

By sending chakra into the ground, the roots of the plants are converted into raw materials. This technique allows for a building to be constructed, by forcing accelerated growth. Just like with the Four-Pillar Prison Technique, the size and shape of the building are taken from the user's imagination or memories. By placing tags around the house, the user creates a barrier, making it impossible for the enemy to detect it and allowing the user to "camp" in peace.

• Smothering Binding

By transforming their arm into a tree, the user can then create multiple branches which will rapidly grow around the target, immobilizing them.

• Lake Creation

One of the Most Adaptable and versatile Suiton Techniques of the Hoshigaki. This technique was a favorite of Kisame who would use it to fill the landscape with water. The user will do a handsign and hold it while he builds up the water in his gut. After successfully building up the Water. he will let it out in one massive burst from his mouth. He can let it out horizontally being able to repel many things at once or down able to form a column of water which he can rise upon. The amount of water formed depends upon rank and amount of Chakra. Each amount of water created is enough to fuel a technique equal to the chakra paid.

• Five Feeding Sharks

The user puts his hand on the surface of a body of water and from the tips of five fingers, chakra is released into the water, changing it into the form of five ferocious sharks. The sharks circle the target with high speed, creating a raging stream that takes away their prey's freedom of movement and their sharp teeth tear into the enemy with each consecutive attack. In the anime, these sharks can regenerate from surrounding water, making them difficult to destroy.

A stronger version of the Water Release: Water Shark Bullet Technique, where the user creates a gigantic shark out of water and, by thrusting both hands forward, sends it to attack the opponent. This technique differs from the original in that it is able to absorb the chakra from an opponent's technique and in turn, use that chakra to grow larger and more powerful. Therefore, the stronger the opponent's technique is, the stronger this technique will get.

Mizu Soujuu is a technique requiring no hand seals which serves as the building block of all other Suiton techniques. It is the first technique Suiton users learn (many of them discovering it on their own) and is a skill which evolves as the user grows in experience and strength. The skill set includes basic manipulation of water, such as moving it from one area to another, levitating it in the air, or gathering it into a single mass from beads of water around the user, or even from water vapor in the air. Through a mastery of Mizu Soujuu, a Suiton user is able to generate the water needed for their various techniques, naturally drawing on Mizu Soujuu to gather the water necessary before molding a Suiton technique with their various hand seals. (The amount of water generated naturally in performing a technique is the equivalent to the user's rank, so a Genin's understanding of Mizu Soujuu will enable the use of any E-rank or D-rank technique without requiring an additional source of water. However, C-rank techniques or above will require a secondary source of water gained by some other means.)

[Note: Mizu Soujuu does not require chakra to use... it is a natural extension of a Suiton technique which the user draws upon to supply the water needed. However, in places like the desert, or in the middle of a burning building, where there is little to no moisture in the air... a Suiton user cannot use Mizu Soujuu to generate the water needed for their techniques.]

• Water Creation
After performing the necessary hand seals, the user is able to create water using their own chakra as the initial source. When used, the user's chakra is released from their torso and arms, which when coming into contact with the air, draws on and enhances the moisture present there. Water then explodes into existence off of the shinobi and into the air where it levitates around them, enabling them to use water jutsu with the newly created source. The more chakra put into this technique, the more water is created. With a D-rank of chakra, enough water is created (in conjunction with Mizu Soujuu) to enable the use of a C-rank technique without a secondary water source. Likewise a C-rank of chakra, enables the use of a B-rank technique without a secondary water source, and a B-rank of chakra enables the use of an A-rank technique without a secondary water source. However, because the water is already created at this point, the next Suiton ninjutsu used with the water created will not have a Stamina cost. (Without Mizu Soujuu, the amount of water created is one rank lower than normal)

(Note: Creating a B-rank of water WILL allow a user to produce multiple D/C-rank by 20% reduced chakra.. If you create a B-rank amount of water, it will alleviate the stamina cost of the next B-rank ninjutsu technique, or the next C-rank and D-rank technique used.)

• Water Puddle
A technique allowing the user to alter their body shape, either melting into a pre-existing puddle of water, or making a puddle of water on their own. This form hides the user's chakra signature from sensors, but shinobi with specialized Doujutsu techniques that allow them to see chakra signatures can see a faint aura within the puddle. The water looks and feels like real water in every way, reflecting images, splashing, etc. If any part of the water is picked up off the ground however, either in an attempt to drink, or bottle it, the technique ends and the user re-forms. Dropping kunai/shuriken into the puddle, stomping on it, or splashing does not harm the user... but ninjutsu used against the water do. When assaulted, the user is forced to re-form and suffers damage as if they were hit by the ninjutsu normally. This technique is typically used to set up ambushes, or can be used as escape tactic in the right situation.


• Water Reflection Clone
An upgrade to the average Mizu Bunshin, the Mizukaisou Bunshin utilizes the user's own reflection in water to create an able bodied clone. This clone possesses the knowledge and intelligence of the user, but attacks with a -1 rank in both speed and strength. Additionally, the clone has it's own reserve of chakra and can perform one Suiton ninjutsu that the user knows up to C-rank. However, once the hand seals are finished, the clone's own body is used as the source of water, leaving nothing behind. If however, the clone is destroyed (clone disperses after one solid blow), it does not split like the Mizu Bunshin, but instead leaves behind a floating mass of water that a Suiton user can utilize as the source of another C-rank Suiton jutsu.

• Hidden Mist Jutsu
The signature technique of the mist village. The user creates a thick mist using their chakra. While within this mist, the user can create fatal stealth attacks. Those with the mist vision technique can still see within this jutsu.

• Mist Vision

A technique granting the user the ability to see through heavy mist, steam, or any other condition dealing with water in the air, this ability is best used in conjunction with the Hidden Mist. Though it allows the user to see through most conditions pertaining to moisture in the air, the Kiri Shikaku no Jutsu is unable to provide vision through smoke and is considered a passive ability that activates when the user's vision would otherwise be obstructed by moisture in the air condition. Does not require hand seals.

• Water Prison
A technique requiring an arm and the user being situated in one spot, the Suirou no Jutsu traps a victim inside a prison of water. In order for the prison to remain in tack, users must keep one arm within the water sphere at all times. Considered one of the most formidable trapping techniques, the water prison cannot be escaped or broken from the inside and will remain in tack as long as the user is willing to keep standing their with their arm harnessing the jutsu.

• Evil Windmill Water Shuriken
Similar to the Water Shuriken, the user manipulates the surrounding moisture/water in order to conjure up a shuriken but this time, instead of creating multiple smaller shuriken, the user focuses that chakra into creating one large Fuuma shuriken. More solid than the regular water shurikens, the Fuuma Mizu shuriken deals more damage upon contact and is able to parry other projectiles that collide with it. When the Fuuma Mizu shuriken strikes it's target it creates large lacerations in the skin, and explodes in a burst of water on contact, the force of the impact leaving deep bruises in the area as well. When performed over a large body of water, the deadliness of this technique increases, enabling the user to create multiple Fuuma Mizu Shuriken (no more than 3) and then launch them directly from the water source toward their opponent. The approach and angle of the shuriken's path can be manipulated individually, but they cannot be controlled like homing missiles.

• Steam
By taking in a deep breath and exhaling, the user blows out a mass of burning steam capable of causing severe burn. Attack may be lethal if opponent is caught too close during the initial release of the steam. The steam covers an area of 3-5 meters.

Background:
Choden was abandoned as a child and raised in a monastery. His Father was a member of the side branch of the Hyuuga, and when Choden was born, he was diagnosed as blind. This was a false diagnosis, but his sight was severely limited during his youth.

Raised as one of the monks in the monastery, Choden learned the basic tenets and was raised on those tenets alone. He was easily the quickest of the monks, being genetically exposed to the faster more dexterous tasks of combat. Due to this, he was made to fight blind folded, to reduce his already limited sight. He suffered greatly, as the other students beat him. Slowly though, he came to rely less and less on his sight and more on his hearing. His hearing amped up, reaching levels closer to that of an Inuzuka's.

He was removed from the initiate program and given the tests to become a full fledged monk several years before the other initiates he was with. He was placed in a dark chamber for an entire month, with only one window and a candle to read scrolls. He slept only for an hour each night, praying and reading until he had memorized every scroll, thereby becoming a full fledged monk. Upon exiting, he lifted his blindfold, and could see as well as anyone else. The prayers had been answered by the gods, and his sight had been returned in order for him to see evil and purge it.

This was his main goal, however ultimately he was unable to achieve it during the life of his master. His temple was attacked in the night, one of the lower monks opened the gate to allow the attackers within. The monks were taken by surprise, half of them wiped out in one fell swoop. After the other half awoke, and rose to defend themselves. The monks fought hard, but the raiders were better equipped. The master of the monastery brought out the stronger of the monks from their solidarity. They pushed the bandits back, but only momentarily. It was an advance force of the bandits, only a fraction of their true power. Choden was taken aside, and told to hold the temple's inner chamber with the master. Why Choden was asked to do that, he never quite knew. The bandits eradicated the other monks, bursting through to the inner chamber's doors, where Choden and the master tried their hardest to defeat all of the opposition. Choden was worked into a corner, death imminent. The Master utilized a technique that was his last ditch technique, actually killing all of the bandits inside the temple. He looked to Choden, asking his forgiveness for leaving him alone. The master walked out, eradicating the forces within the temple grounds. Choden doesn't know what happened to the master, he assumes his chakra ran out, and he was overwhelmed. He still respected the master, despite him taking so many lives. Choden stood alone, protecting the inner sanctuary, a room that was never to be opened because a demon supposedly resided within.

Choden was left alone, the bandits had withdrawn to nurse their wounds. The Master's body was nowhere on the grounds, and neither was one of the initiates. Choden buried everyone, marking each of the graves with their name, rank, and station. He barricaded himself in the chamber just before the inner sanctum, praying for his fallen brethren's souls to find peace. It was then that the initiate reappeared. He wasn't wearing his robes, and instead was wearing the garments of the bandits who had attacked. Choden became light headed as the realization hit him. The initiate had purposely killed the entire monastery, save himself and Choden. Choden fell to his knees, his vision blurring. The Initiate smiled, taunting him as he moved closer. The Initiate beat Choden while he was delirious, not giving him a chance to react. The Initiate moved to the doors, aiming to open the seal on the door. Choden rose, his eyes reclaiming their sight. He drew in the chakra of the temple, reviving his fighting drive and threw the Initiate across the room, as far as possible away from the door. They fought for hours, and in the end, Choden fell to his knees, weakened by the natural chakra attacking his body. The Initiate calmly kicked him out of the way, across the room. The Initiate opened the doors, and was immediately killed by the hand of demonic chakra that shot out the doorway. It was a demon, an actual chakra demon. It slunk out of the inner sanctum, ignoring Choden's existence because of the natural chakra flowing from his body. It grew incrementally, bulging and expanding as it's chakra expanded, giving it new girth. It toppled the temple, and left Choden for dead.

Choden was found a couple days later, nursing his wounds and clearing the debris from the grave sites. The Initiate had been buried as well, with an unmarked grave. The bandits that found him bound his hands in chains, taking him to their hideout. They forced him to fight against dogs, wolves, bears, anything and everything they could get their hands on. Choden never took the life of any of the animals, or humans that the bandits put him up against, holding to the tenets his master taught him. The bandits weren't so kind, killing the loser and beating the winner. It was years before the hideout was found and destroyed by the shinobi of Soragakure. He was found, praying in a corner, over one of the injured humans he had been made to fight. The injured man was doomed, he'd been beaten to the point he was on his death bed. Choden was giving him his last rites, exactly how he had given the last rites to all of his brethren.

Personality: Salome is a kind and caring individual even though she is mostly quiet. She often considers the feelings of others, and makes her decisions based off of those feelings. At times she can be seen having great pleasure when fighting against other opponents. However, Salome has always been known to be a sweet girl until you make her mad of course. She is loyal to her friends and will not betray them. She has a knack for doing things for others, even it means getting killed for their sake. Salome also loves music and takes a great liking to it. She has even learned how to play the guitar very well since she was young.

Salome has three personalities that accompany her and with her transformations when they are released. She is often found arguing with her inner self, or selves when she transforms.

First Transformation Appearance
The main changes in this form is that she matures fully into a young woman in their mid 20s. Her hair changes to a beautiful silver and her eyes turn blood red. Along with that she develops fangs for teeth.

Her second personality in her first form is cold and cool. She loves to fight, and does not back down from any challenge. She likes to put people "in there place," and that's pretty scary. Just as it was said, she is cold, and doesn't like weakness. This personality can come off as arrogant, but is intelligent and calculating. At times she can be soft, but it is rare. This side is very prideful, more prideful then the other three personalities. She often uses people to benefit herself, but at times she can have something she cares about. This personality shares a great love for music as well.

Second Transformation Appearance
The main changes in this form is she matures further into someone in their early 30s. Her hair changes to blonde and her ears grow out a bit long like elf ears.

Her third personality in her second form is quite the opposite of her first form. This one is very laid back, and loves to toy with her opponents. She loves to have fun with people, often pulling pranks and tricks on them. However once she is serious, things tend to take a whole another route. She becomes obessed with killing her opponent, but not quick and painless. Her playful toying becomes torture and sadistic killings. Outside of battle, she seems not to care about much. That especially means physical being and feelings.


Third Transformation Appearance
The main changes here is that she ages to someone in the mid 30s. Her hair changes to black, her eyes remain red, and she grows wings.

The final personality, in her third form is very destructive, beyond cruel, unforgiving, and a maniac. Even though it has only been seen once, this personality shows no mercy for anything and everything. She tolerates no weakness and treats everyone like dirt. No one stand against her because if they do, they die. What's not known is that this personality is very cool and calculating, despite her destructive and warmongering ways. She is a very manipulating person, and uses everyone as a pawn.

Background:
Salome Avy Ann was born to Akira Urahara, and Ichirou Urahara. Salome is a descendent of Muramasa, just like her father. The family was a happy family ignoring the potential dangers of the bloodline they had inherited. Salome grew up a happy child, her mother and father was always there for her, and she had many friends at the academy. Everything seemed perfect, but something dark remained within her, something horrible.

On the night of her tenth birthday, while sleeping, Salome unconsciously released her first, second and then pulled her final off by accident. This awakened the full fury of the power that laid dormant inside her. The power was overwhelming and consumed her. Her dark form had arosed and broke through the wall of her bedroom and into the streets of Soragakure. The form was beautiful, but deadly, but it was still weak. She broke into houses, and wounded some villagers. She destroyed the market and even collapsed a few empty buildings.

The night drew on as the chaos ensued, Shinobi were sent out to stop this madness. Her father especially, wanted this madness to stop. Taking his daughter's limiters, and he being a shinobi himself, set out to find Salome with his squad. Eventually they caught up to her, finding something very evil.

"You! How could you!" Tetsu, one of Ichirou's teammates, yelled out as the girl was surrounded by severely wounded shinobi and even a few dead ones.

An evil laugh roared out from the woman, who was Salome, but who appeared older. She had wings, giant black wings, sharp fangs, and her nails had become claws. Her eyes were red and her hair was a beautiful silver. "You fools, can't stop me. Come if you dare, you'll be my slave before then." She said as dark chakra began to rise from her.

"She doesn't even recognize us. How can you not recognize your own uncle or even your own father!" Valor shouted out at Salome, trying to reach her. Tetsu and Valor understood this power, they have seen Ichirou use it with a mastery like none other, but this form they have never seen.

The men stood there astonished at the power, they couldn't imagine it. "I'm gonna need your help... Ichirou said to Tetsu and Valor with a deep voice. This voice was filled with sadness. "They say. They say it's impossible to bring them back once the third limiter is removed. But I can't bring myself to kill my own daughter. He said trembling with anger and frustration.

"Third limiter! The stories are really true!" Both Tetsu and Valor said in unison, shocked about a third limiter they were never told about that was true.

"Yes a third limiter, to supress the last third of Kamigawa's power. This seal can only be released by the owner, unlike the ones you guys have removed in the past. I have one too. he said, said reverting back to a calm collective state. "Look, there is a way to bring her back so don't kill her. Now follow my lead!" Ichirou commanded, as he charged toward his own daughter with her limiters. The others followed him, and battle to save Salome began.

The battle took only minutes, Tetsu and Valor were both wounded, but not to bad. Ichirou on the other hand was able to put back on both of the earrings, but found himself in a bad place. Salome had broken both of his legs and now had him held by the neck. The jade pendant remained in his hand, as he tried his best to find his strength. Her grip increased, as he hand began to crush him. In one swift motion, Ichirou took off first limiter and gained what power he could and broke the grip.

He charged at her again with his demon form, but was quickly impaled by an enraged Salome, her arms pentrating through his abdomen. His friends watched in horror, but Ichirou had succeed. He knew there was no other way, he put the necklace on his daughter and uttered his words confidently. "I love you my daughter, no matter what. Take care of your mother and your uncles for me. You're going to be a fine shinobi someday." He said pulling her arm out his gut.

Tears began to roll down the demons face, it seemed she had feelings after. "Father, how could I be so stupid." Salome said as the streams of tears began to fall from her eyes.

He placed his palm on his. On his daughters face and looked at her red eyes with his. He smiled and closed his eyes. " You will learn. I have faith that you will be able to control this form, seeing those tears of yours gives me hope. His voice was getting weaker and soon he succumbed to his wounds. He fell to his knees and this his face hit the ground. His daughter too his her knees, her hand on his shoulder, still in her demon form. The seals were beginning to work again. A bright light of chakra shot out from Salome, as she reverted back to normal. It lit up the sky for a few seconds and then the light faded. Salome passed out, lying right beside her dying father.

Tetsu and Valor rushed over to his side, trying to hold the tears back. "Promise me, you'll take care of her you two. She's going to need you. Tell Akira, not to hate her, it's not Salome's fault. It's my fault. Make sure the Sorakage has a hand in her maturity. The details are unclear on how this happened to my daughter, but if you must, tell them The Legend of Shinzo. Lastly, don't hate her. He began to fade as the two men, his best friends, cried and pleaded for him not to go. It was seconds later that the Sorakage and the special forces Jounin had showed up. Tetsu picked up Salome and put her on his back, and carried her to the hospital while valor and rest of the shinobi were attended to put to rest.

Three days passed since that day, and Salome had finally awoken from her coma. She woken to mother with tears in her eyes and woeful smile. Tetsu and Valor were there as well, they too had woeful smiles, but were happy the girl was okay. Salome unfortunately remembered everything that happened that night. She apologized to everyone in that room instantly, and even offered the chance for revenge. They all smiled at her and they all gave her a hug together. They could see it, they could see her father in her.

The years went by and the incident was eventually forgotten. No one knew who it was that damaged the village like that. That was the work of the Sorakage, who was able to keep this a secret. Salome, could now say she survived the third transformation. Only few have done this. She went to the academy after that, as if nothing happened. The memory still rested in her mind though for seven more years to the present.

Personality: At first glance, Ai perfectly fits the model of a weak and proper girl, one that should be protected and kept in the back. It's not necessarily an act or facade either. Ai is naturally calm and soft-spoken. Although, she's not afraid of speaking and knows how to have her share of fun. She also lacks the usual chiseled and toned body (sexy, perhaps, but nothing close to helpless) of her kunoichi peers, giving her a soft figure instead. She's generally kind-hearted and struggles against being anything but a nice person. Some say she is too peaceful.

However, at the same time, Ai fully understands what a kunoichi is expected to do. While she cannot force herself to act like a cold-hearted murderer, she at least tries her best to not lose mentally against her peers. She can plan kills and ambushes just as well as the next person and has no qualms with seeing deaths occur. The only problem is that she simply isn't comfortable with direct combat regardless of how hard she's tried to reason to herself that it's perfectly fine. Fighting someone face-to-face, feeling her own motions cut and rip. It all just worries Ai to the point she can't concentrate.

For that reason, she prefers to fight from a distance. The farther, the better. Sniping, the farthest form of combat she can think of, is obviously the most suited for her.

Background: Ai's family wasn't the worst per se… but they weren't very wholesome either. Her parents started hopeful, entering Soragakure as a newly married couple in the hopes of achieving the past fame of the Hanaya clan. By the time Ai was born, though, the hope was lost. By the time she was a toddler, her parents had just completely spiraled down. If it wasn't so depressing, the speed at which they lost hope could be considered impressive. Her mother was the first to fall. She would rant about every disappointment, placing unrealistic goals on everything. She, more than anyone, wanted prodigies in her family. She wanted the family to regain the past glory of the Hanaya clan, the clan she belonged to before marrying her husbad. The father sought peace from his overemotional wife in drinking, essentially becoming useless to the family. He went missing about a year before Ai's graduation to genin rank, assumed to have drunk himself to death.

His mark on Ai's life didn't end there, though. At about the same time he started his drinking, he also carried multiple affairs, another result of the issues he had against his wife. One early affair resulted in the birth of the child Kirianna of the Aburame clan, giving Ai a half-sister two years her junior. The two knew of each other, but being raised by different families, never had the chance to be too close. In Ai's case, at least, her mother almost always made some mention of beating Kirianna despite the fact that the two were in separate grades. Ai quickly learned to take little heed of such words, as she learned to do with much of what her mother said.

Her mother, meanwhile, vented by trying to sludge all her ill-planned hopes on Ai. Even her name held high standards. Ai, meaning love. It was the expectation that she would be loved by everyone, as the Hanaya of the past were. Of course, something like that is far too idealistic to be true naturally, so by default, it actually was the expectation that the child such a name is given to would get everyone to love her.

With this rigorous, support-less life, the gentle Ai soon learned to endure. No matter how hard she tried, Ai could only ever be average in her academy tests and exams. Her mother's constant attempts to teach her the tricks and techniques of the Hanaya clan also ended up futile. She couldn't help it. She clearly displayed no talent for the usual combat expected of shinobi because she couldn't bring herself to perform the usual combat in the first place. Her failings simply tore her mother apart to the point that she couldn't see the other talents her daughter had and try to help her find an alternate way to excel. Of course, in the end, her mother vented even this on her daughter. She never got physical, but everything else seemed to be fair game. It only took a few years in the academy for even peaceful Ai to stop trying to please her mother. The entrance of Kirianna into the academy the year Ai stopped probably had something to do with it as it had instigated a whole new flood of lectures and demands. She couldn't bring herself to compete as harshly with Kirianna as her mother wished her to. She definitely couldn't bring herself to hate her half-sister as much as her mother seemed to.
Ai was grateful for the mental endurance her mother's unrealistic expectations had fostered in her, but she no longer felt anything to her mother, of whom she only remembered as a distant task manager. After that point, Ai only continued to listen because it was the proper and right thing to do.

Most of her classmates, in fact, got more affection from Ai than her mother did. They, at least, didn't force anything on her. In fact, the stress and verbal abuse Ai's mother lauded upon her made Ai that much more dedicated to the village. She didn't need family figures, per se, but she still needed to belong to some unit. With no other relatives nearby, the village as a whole became that unit. That isn't to say that Ai was very buddy-buddy to everyone. She didn't need family figures, so that made the individual villagers nothing special. Rather, the best way to probably put it is that Ai gave the loyalties one would give to their family, often separate from the loyalties given to the village/country/nation/etc., completely to her village. In her often almost-fanatic speeches, the mother had impressed upon Ai the importance of all sorts of loyalty from her youngest days, which simply strengthened Ai's later loyalties to her village. All in all, to Ai, the very concept of the village (just the idea, even) is a safe haven to her. In a world full of lies and lacking sympathy, the village is the one thing she can trust in; specifically, the one thing she chose to trust even while understanding all the faults of such a way of seeing things. It is what Ai, being only human, bases her judgement off of so that she wouldn't go crazy with indecision. It doesn't matter if the village simply uses her, even if that means sacrificing her, she will always trust the village.

Of course, her naturally gracious disposition had her continue acting (without really acting) like a proper daughter to her mother until the very last day. She didn't try anything necessarily harmful. Still hasn't, and her mother is still alive. Albeit, she no longer plays much of a role in Ai's life, Ai having moved out into her own apartment almost immediately upon graduating to genin rank.
Upon Chuunin rank, Ai's mother will die of natural causes, probably stress-related.
As for the half-sister, Kirianna, Ai never paid much attention to her and vice versa. The two lived in different parts of town and attended different grades. Beyond the passing glimpse and rare comment about how similar they looked to each other, there was never any other chance for interaction. Never any need for it either.

Perhaps because of this complete isolation, Ai was picked as the Kyuubi host among all the other potential candidates. She suited the role, too, having shown nothing but loyalty for her village and a calm demeanor that seemed ideal for the taming of a wild demon. Perhaps her stability also led to Ai being asked upfront to take in the demon, rather than the abduction that Kirianna suffered. Who knows? Probably only the upper ranks of Soragakure that had a say in the distribution of the demons.
