'A Ghostly Voice'
The essence of chakra would flow throughout the training grounds, a selective genjutsu would befall much of the genin but would only occur to a very select few within the grounds. To Keiji, Kaze and Hayate, this illusion would attack their sense of hearing and deafen everything just briefly as a low whisper would speak in their ears. For it would speak three words as such "It is Time." for the ghostly whisper would even emulate the sense of touch to give the sensation of Michiyo's hot breath on their skin before the illusion would end quickly, dispersing as if nothing had ever happened. It was the message for her genin to report to the Cloud District.

{Sorry for the wait, my internet is cut off >.>} Hayate clapped Kaze on the back, standing up when Mantus and Kyro arrived. Yate looked at Mantus and nodded his head, agreeing with the statement. It was very impressive, but Hayate wanted to know what exactly Kaze did to make it. "That's nice and all but how did ya-" Kaze suddenly shot forward and stopped just before smashing into Kyro. Yate raised an eyebrow, piecing it together in an instant. He felt the chakra burst that gave him the speed to practically flicker towards his target. He reached up to his chin and rubbed it, entering his thoughtful mode. Hayate figured that Kaze was able to use the raw chakra as a catalyst for extreme speed, and as an extension strength. Kaze probably surged chakra to his hands or legs and punched or kicked the crater into existence. If that was the case then Kaze had stumbled upon a fantastic way of fighting. Had someone been unfortunate enough to be standing where the hit landed Kaze could have done some serious damage.
Hayate really wanted to speak with Kaze about it, maybe help him refine the skill and use it to create more techniques. He himself was no physical fighter, Hayate's style was to remain hidden and fight from afar. Few had seen him do battle, mostly because he didn't even need to be in the same area to harm someone. Kaze as an up close fighter and relied upon his body as well as his jutsu arsenal. Yate wanted to stay and actually train, or at least spend time talking with his new found friends. But a chill ran up his spine and set his hair to standing. He was looking at Kyro speaking, but for some reason he couldn't make out what he was saying. "Whah-" Was all Hayate managed to get out as a ghostly whisper spoke to him, making him shudder. It had literally felt like Michiyo was there, whispering behind him. Hayate rubbed his neck and looked around, seeing that Kaze and Keiji were reacting to it as well. He did not look pleased, in fact he looked suddenly sickly. Another groan erupted from his stomach and he rubbed at it as he spoke. "Looks like our teacher is hollerin' for us to come and find her. We got some sort of training session scheduled with her. Ya'll ready?" Hayate said to Keiji and Kaze, nodding at each of them. He hadn't learned everything he wanted but what he did know would have to suffice. Yate was a little worried, only because Michiyo's skills were profound, whereas they were just three genin with little to bring to the table. They did have one thing going for them, and that was the fact that they had known each other for so long. Yate knew how Kaze fought, as well as Keiji. Hopefully they would be able to work with each other, and swiftly. "It was nice meetin' ya, Mantus and Kyro. Yer welcome to come and check this session out if ya ain't got nothin' else to do fer now." Hayate said, stuffing his hands in his pockets and taking the scenic route to his sensei. [exit]

Standing up slowly from his inspection of the crater, Mantus dusted off his hands and opened his mouth to speak, but hesitated as he felt a shiver run up his spine. What was that? He gave an inward inquiry, as if his insects could answer him; Of course, no reply came."Job well done, indeed."Mantus glanced around, brushing the last bit of dirt from his hands more slowly, staring off into the distance; He was contemplating something. Hayate spoke out, stating that his sensei was calling them, through a method which had gone undetected in Mantus' case. He offered for Mantus to join, but the Aburame bowed slightly, then shook his head in response."You honor me with your offer. Training between sensei and student is something I cannot observe. Thank you, all the same. It was a pleasure, Uzumaki, Hayate."Mantus thrust his hands in the pockets of his jacket and put distance between himself and the rest of the group. Before he got to know these people better, he had to better himself. The best way to do that, as he did usually, was to train in solitude.

Kaze turned his head and waved at the other Genin, saying goodbye.

Gavriel stood alone in a remote area of the training grounds, surveying a perspective route that looked like a hectic mess to run through, well for a normal person anyways. See, Gavriel was trying to master the Byakugan, the specialized eyes he'd inherited in his blood from his mother's side of the family. He didn't really know all that much about them, other that when he'd activated them accidentally as a child, Gavriel could suddenly see everything for an instant, until the sensory overload blew his mind and knocked him out. Gavriel began to focus his chakra, gathering it around his eyes and then started to empty his mind. Although he felt something like a mental block might be the reason he hadn't been able to master the ability for a large portion of his life, he pushed himself forward, and at the same time he started to run.
Reaching the edge of the platform he was on, Gavriel leaped into the air, and suddenly he saw everything. His body's instinct for self-preservation had kicked in, which helped him to unlock the power hidden in his blood. While he still had a limited grasp of what he was actually seeing, Gavriel noticed a thick pipe that was practically below him, and a platform he could get himself onto several meters away if he swung and flipped himself upwards, and if he fell or the pipe broke, Gavriel could just barely make out an old skyrail that was even farther below him. When he actually caught the pipe, the boy had managed to partially swing himself upwards towards the platform, but the pipe started to groan and the quickly snapped, completely disorienting Gavriel mid-swing. Both of the previous options had gone up in smoke, and Gavriel frantically searched with the byakugan for safe landing spot. He just barely found a ledge that he managed to get a grasp onto while on a deadly decent towards the empty streets below. Although the force of the sudden impact nearly dislocated his shoulder, He somehow managed to use the momentum of the fall to his advantage and twisted himself into a nearby window. Panting and gasping for breath while laying in the middle of an empty room, Gavriel began to laugh almost maniacally to himself as he'd realized he had probably just cheated death.
Gavriel sat up and looked around, he didn't see anything alive, and decided he needed to find someone to teach him some proper taijutsu. He got up and walked towards the window, and leaped out, catching a skyrail and zipping off towards the downtown.

Arriving at training grounds Takashi scanned around not seeing any signs of life. Picking up a small stone he threw it at a vacant pipe hearing the echo throughout the area. Besides his child like experiment he decided that it was to get down to learning some water based techniques. Looking around then at his hands he pulled out several scrolls that were water based. Lining them up in order of rank he opened the first, Water Manipulation. Sighing the technique was so lame to him but it was the building block of all water jutsu.
Focusing his chakra he started to gather the moisture in the air around him, the dew on the pipes or on gutters. Slowly moving it around then above his head, he was able to create a water source for E or D rank level water jutsu without the use of a secondary water source. "Child's play, next one!" he opened a parent jutsu of technique he just used. This one works in conjunction creating a water source for more powerful jutsu and take stress off with a chakra reduction.
Following the instructions he began to form the hand signs, focusing his chakra in his torso and hands they began to glow a faint blue. Soon the chakra rose drawing water from the atmosphere. The water then exploded traveling up above Takashi. Being cocky as he was he produced A- rank level of chakra without knowing he could feel the drain from his chakra pool. Falling to his knees he started to pant. This was much harder than using the lake creation technique. Looking above him he now had plenty of water to use for some training. Standing to both legs he had his father's will in him and decided to keep going.
The next jutsu was basically for escape which Takashi snorted as if he would ever need to escape. Forming the proper hand signs channeling his chakra he pulled down some water using the Mizu Soujuu he slowly melded into the puddle on the ground. Moving around in the puddle he then rose out of it back to his normal form. Trying this again and again he found it was good for a possible ambush type situation.
Moving onto the next jutsu he came up to the next scroll. A much stronger version of the droplet clone. Practicing the hand sign sequence a few times he prepared to use the technique. Channeling his chakra the water below him rather his reflection began to ripple and clone appeared though it's appearance did not look anything like him. Despite his cocky attitude there was still a lot for him to learn. Stopping his focus the clone turned back into water. "I will master this jutsu, god damn it!" Shaking his fist to the sky he quickly tried to use the jutsu again, no luck.
Frustrated he started swearing and kicking things, sighing he calmed himself down. Forming the hand signs his reflection came to life and was an exact copy of him. Smirking Takashi had learned the water reflection clone jutsu. Soon enough with one kick he smashed the clone back to water. "They can only take one hit before they turn back into water, good to know.". Starting to feel a bit tipsy with the chakra he had expended despite his chakra pools he decided it was time for a rest. Letting the water fall to the ground he leaned up against a wall.
As the day grew older, Takashi had three more scrolls to learn. The next three would end it for him today or at least the afternoon Takashi thought. For his next practice was a signature technique for the mist village. Lifting one arm up and forming a hand sign he focused his chakra from his body to create a thick mist. Unfortunately it was a dud and Takashi was unable to produce any mist. Sighing this jutsu was giving him some grief. Closing his eyes and calming down as he did before, yielded nothing. Completely enraged he shot water at his mouth towards a wall.
Falling to his knees he pounded the water knowing that he was dishonoring his father. To the point of crying he saw the sun breaching through the clouds, he could see the light's reflection on the water so he got up and tried again, then failed. This time he did throw a tantrum he worked on focusing his chakra throughout his body. Forming the hand signs mist seemed to come out of nowhere and he had done it. The mist was just thick enough so Takashi vision was impaired. Takashi couldn't see too well so finding the second to last scroll a bit of a problem since it went along with the hidden mist technique.
Soon after an embarrassing amount of time he found the two other scrolls. Squinting he reached for them then was caught off guard by the appearance of a Jounin. "So you are suppose to be a prodigy and you are having trouble with C-rank jutsu kid?. Takashi turned and clenched his fist "I'm not having trouble, I'm" the jounin laughed "You are just having trouble, man you are a pity case!" Takashi was close to attacking someone who not only was stronger, it would dishonor his father. Trying to calm himself down the jounin spoke out "I see that look in your eyes and I like it, let me show you some real techniques "
"To get through this mist you'll have to learn to see it, this jutsu will help!". Looking out with a indifferent face, Takashi listened. "Before doing this close your eyes then focus the chakra to your eyes, finally release the chakra and open them." You'll then be able to see through the mist, remember this only helps seeing mist not smoke or something similar got it, now try it!". Takashi closed his eyes focused his chakra to his eyes, following the Jounin's instruction he opened them but couldn't see any different than before.
The jounin sighed "Try it again kid!" so that is what Takashi did. The result was a failing yet again. Takashi must have tried the jutsu four times before starting to break down. "Listen kid I knew your father, he would be ashamed of you, get it together!" The jounin was being mean to get better results from the genin which he seemed to respond well with. Takshi stared daggers at the jounin then went ahead to master the technique. This time Takashi didn't focus the chakra in the eyeball but in the iris. Soon enough he was able to see through the mist perfectly. It was an unreal feeling to him, like some genjutsu. Walking clear over he found the scrolls he had left out.
"Good kid, as a reward I'll teach another powerful jutsu, the water prison jutsu, interested?" Takashi had heard of the technique and rushed over to the jounin. "I take it that means you are into it, that's good you'll need it!". First the jounin created a huge amount of water below the two, so much it ran in torrents off the edge of the platform they were on. "Now with this jutsu, once the target is trapped they can not get out unless you move your hand away." Takashi looked puzzled so the jounin showed him first hand of what it was like. Soon the water under him formed a sphere like prison Takashi now in the middle.
"Now as I was saying, the moment you take your hand off the prison the target will become free." Takashi said something but the jounin couldn't make it out. Moving his hand away the prison fell apart back to water beneath the two. Barely able to use the water walking jutsu the jounin realized that maybe this was his limit. "You all done kid?". Takashi shook his head as he stood up. "Okay big kid, trap me in the prison if you can."
Takashi channeled the water around with the basic water manipulation as a building block. Understanding the significance of the jutsu he had a better understanding of the jutsu's foundation. Raising one hand Takashi rose water to create a dome prison around the jounin's body. Unable to hold the prison together but due to his lack of chakra and skill, it fell apart. "I...I can't..." The jounin sighed "No, you won't, do it again and do it!!" Takashi began to sink into the water. Pushing himself up he gave his last bit of chakra and moved water around the jounin. Soon he was able to shape it into a sphere prison. Holding it up with hand he watched on as the jounin smiled towards him. Not being able to hold the sphere very long, it broke apart freeing the jounin.
"Well, well kid I guess you shouldn't be that ashamed" Covered in droplets of water painting, slowly sinking in the water the jounin added "Go get some rest kid, you're at your limit" Forming a hand sign the jounin disappeared, Takashi didn't even know his name and at this point was only interested in food and sleep. Standing up walking in the water, he headed towards his apartment ready for some rest.

Noah walked into the Training Grounds with a stretch and a yawn, completely bored yet glad that he graduated from the academy finally, though, even that was a blur. He fixed his neck and decided to begin training on techniques, ones that would benefit him in the near future. He noticed other Genin in the training grounds but didn't bother to interact with them in the slightest, if they wished to speak to him, they could just as easily approach and speak up, he'd reply and they would strike up an interesting chat. Noah would then grab the needed materials to train and would begin training:

Arriving at the training grounds, Takashi leaned over the railing to peer at the bottom most floor Finally spotting the jounin he walked down the stairs to meet him. "So you finally made it kid, well let's get down to business, this time you create the water!", Takashi hatted being demeaned especially because of his massive ego "Fine..." Forming the proper hand signs building water in his gut he then released B-rank amount of water towards a wall. The waves crashed against it forming a torrent" of water spreading throughout the bottom floor. "That must be the kid's bloodline, not bad". "Okay the jutsu I'm about to teach is basically a weapon you can use when water is not abundant,though it can triple in strength if there is a secondary water source." Takashi pretended to know what was going on as he slouched and looked on in secret awe.
Using the Mizu Soujuu, create a fuma shuriken using this hand signs, you do know what that looks like?" the condescending tone was getting on Takashi's nerves. Forming the proper hand signs he formed a fuma shuriken slowly "Speed it up kid, you won't have time to d**k around in combat!".With the pressure Takashi lost control and the water returned to the ground. Sighing the jounin tucked his hands inside his pockets "Guess I wasted my time, see ya later kid.". That was it Takashi had it, forming the proper hand signs and create several fuma shuriken then launched them at the jounin. Smirking the jounin dodged them easily then turned back around "That's what I like to see but that's only part of the jutsu, you can also steer them, try again!". Takashi formed several shuriken steering them towards the jounin with more accuracy.Although the attack was dead on, the jounin easily dodged them. "Not bad but don't forget this jutsu is not a homing missile but can be influenced, got it kid?". Takashi nodded waiting for the next jutsu to explore and learn.
"This next jutsu is more powerful but has a much smaller range." Takashi was eager to see what kind of jutsu it was."Focusing your chakra in your stomach and throat, releasing it into the air as steam". The jounin smirked again forming the proper hand signs. He quickly released a concentrated mist at a wall. The paint on the outside started to peel off due to the extreme heat. "It's best to use this jutsu when your opponent is close by since the range is limited to several meters and the closer the target is the more severe, possibly fatal it can be, now you try it kid!"
Practicing the hand signs Takashi filled his stomach with chakra then forgot to coat his throat with it burning himself accidentally. "Ow!" Takashi winched from the pain. The jounin sighed "Coat your throat kid so you don't burn yourself remember?". Attempting the jutsu, Takashi channeled chakra in his stomach then throat releasing it out of his mouth. His range this time was only three meters rather than five. It was just barely hot enough to be noticiable on the paint. "Do it again kid, you haven't learned this quite yet!". Takashi breathed heavily trying the jutsu process again. This time the range was four meters and a bit hotter. Turning around to the jounin Takashi asked "Who are you by the way and how come you know so much about water jutsu?""Finally asked me my name, Ozai Sensei is the name and my specialty is water jutsu, but enough distractions, get to it kid!".
Cracking his neck Takashi tried to build enough chakra to release the steam. Finally following the correct process he released a stream of mist covering five meters and almost as hot as the jounin's first blast. "Heh, finally got it down, remember what I told you this technique drains some chakra...especially with your wimpy chakra pool!" Takashi breathed heavily and smirked at the 'encouragement'. Another ninja appeared next to them, looked pretty beat up not recently but had a hard life. Nodding Ozai sighed "Guess we have to cut this a bit short, I'm needed, keep practicing and you might surprise me, keyword there might!". In a flash they both their imagess flickered then disappeared. Takashi smiled then went to rest against a wall for a bit.

• Water Manipulation - Passive Mizu Soujuu is a technique requiring no hand seals which serves as the building block of all other Suiton techniques. It is the first technique Suiton users learn (many of them discovering it on their own) and is a skill which evolves as the user grows in experience and strength. The skill set includes basic manipulation of water, such as moving it from one area to another, levitating it in the air, or gathering it into a single mass from beads of water around the user, or even from water vapor in the air. Through a mastery of Mizu Soujuu, a Suiton user is able to generate the water needed for their various techniques, naturally drawing on Mizu Soujuu to gather the water necessary before molding a Suiton technique with their various hand seals. (The amount of water generated naturally in performing a technique is the equivalent to the user's rank, so a Genin's understanding of Mizu Soujuu will enable the use of any E-rank or D-rank technique without requiring an additional source of water. However, C-rank techniques or above will require a secondary source of water gained by some other means.)
[Note: Mizu Soujuu does not require chakra to use... it is a natural extension of a Suiton technique which the user draws upon to supply the water needed. However, in places like the desert, or in the middle of a burning building, where there is little to no moisture in the air... a Suiton user cannot use Mizu Soujuu to generate the water needed for their techniques.]
Mist Vision - Passive A technique granting the user the ability to see through heavy mist, steam, or any other condition dealing with water in the air, this ability is best used in conjunction with the Hidden Mist. Though it allows the user to see through most conditions pertaining to moisture in the air, the Kiri Shikaku no Jutsu is unable to provide vision through smoke and is considered a passive ability that activates when the user's vision would otherwise be obstructed by moisture in the air condition. His eyes closed, Choden rested against a wall, his eyes closed, and his hands in a prayer formation. If you dared to place your head close enough to the hulking man's body, you'd be able to hear mumbled prayers, hundreds of them, all in a matter of minutes. He wasn't entirely aware he was praying, in his mind he was remembering, reliving the course of events that lead him to this passage of his life. Abandonment, left by his parents in the care of the monastery because of his assumed blindness. Charity, the monks allowed him within the walls of the monastery, raising him as one of themselves. Acceptance, He'd become one of the monks, trained with them, ate with them, learned with them. He'd gone from a simple shinobi's son to a child of the gods, and a man of the cloth. Trials, He'd completed his initiation, memorizing all of the teachings, all of the prayers, all the while praying to become a better person to show the world the might of the gods and their benevolence. For this he was given his sight back, and he gave thanks fully and completely giving himself to the gods as a vessel for their will. Strife, His entire order wiped out save for himself, and through his most earnest hope, his master. One of the initiates had been a Harbinger of the bandits. They came like a plague, killing and looting the bodies. Closure, The Initiate had defeated Choden in single combat, and paid for it with his life as the Demon was released from the inner sanctum. Tribulation, Choden was later recovered by the bandits themselves, and pitted against animals and other prisoners. He spared them death as long as he could, and suffered because of it. For not killing them, he was beaten mercilessly. Salvation, He was saved by the shinobi force of this village, and brought here to be recruited. Despite his conviction to never kill above his own safety, they still allowed him to take on the job of shinobi until he could recreate his monastery.
Now it was brought to the present, where he stopped his prayers, opened his eyes, and looked up to view the place he was in for what it was. It was a portion of the village, devoid of life from pestilence and war. It was now a place where those who specialized in the killing aspect of war practiced, taking it upon themselves to police the world, and judge people condemning them to death.

Standing up from his sitting position Takashi stretched a bit then headed up the stairs to the higher levels of the area. On his way to the top floor he heard some mumbling then it stopped. Getting close he saw someone leaning up against a wall, the man looked funny to him and much older. Assuming that he was in fit condition based on his age and muscle mass Takashi wondered if he knew any taijutsu skills to teach him. Takashi was always selfish in this manner, demanding what he thought was due to him. With that he stared directly at the man "Hey you, are you a chunin or jounin of this village?" .

Mist Vision - Passive A technique granting the user the ability to see through heavy mist, steam, or any other condition dealing with water in the air, this ability is best used in conjunction with the Hidden Mist. Though it allows the user to see through most conditions pertaining to moisture in the air, the Kiri Shikaku no Jutsu is unable to provide vision through smoke and is considered a passive ability that activates when the user's vision would otherwise be obstructed by moisture in the air condition. Does not require hand seals.

"I am neither." Choden said, without even looking at Takashi. He looked up into the sky, a sigh of sadness coming from his lips. "I am Choden. Monk of the Divine Order of the gods." He said looking to Takashi. "And you are?" He said, turning to face him. His arms hung low, his wrists close together because they were bound. He raised his hands to offer a hand shake to the child. His hands were easily once and a half times the size of Takashi's, maybe even twice the size. "If you were interested in learning techniques from me, that task I cannot complete, however if you are looking to strengthen your body to further serve a purpose in battle, I can surely meet that request." He said, his hand still held out for the hand shake.
(I want Choden to judge the rudeness, but for some reason it just feels wrong. xD Choden is going to be so passive.)

Takashi had no idea who the Monk's were must have skipped that chapter at the academy, but still cockily snorted "So you're a genin like me...and your how old? "Heh!". As Choden held out his hand to Takashi his hand appeared as if he was going to honor the gesture he then retracted his handshake wiping his hand over the back of his head in a sign of disrespect. "If you can beat me, then you'll earn the right to shake my hand , got it Mon-ky?". Leaping up to the flat roof of training grounds he yelled "Up here, I don't want to hurt anyone but you, heh!". Standing of the roof he awaited Choden response.

"If you would call me that, then that must be what I am." Choden said disregarding the complete disrespect of the child. "I'll take no solace in defeating you, but if it is what you desire, so long as I can honor the gods while doing it I will preform my duty." He said as he looked up to where the child had jumped. He lowered his body slightly and lunged up into the air, easily clearing the roof and landing at it's edge, the tiles of the roof cracking and breaking under his weight and the force he came down with. "I'll use this opportunity to unlock a higher power from the gods, my blood right." He said, his eyes shifting slightly.
He looked at the boy, tilting his head to the side. "If I land a single hit on you, you have to wait until I utter my blood right before continuing. Certainly you're more than confident that I'll be unable to touch you so I conclude that this is an agreeable offer?" Choden said, his eyes never straying from the boy. He wanted to take this time, this moment where there would be no possible bloodshed to unlock his eyes. He knew that there was more to his eyes than he'd known growing up, his master had said so. He'd said that Choden could see all with his eyes if trained, that even the tenketsu, the most guarded secret would reveal itself to him.

From the jump up to the roof top it was clear that he was in great physical health and speed. This might be harder than Takashi had originally thought, thinking this guy was just a flunky. Not paying attention to all the gibberish Takashi thought he was talking about "Yeah, yeah, since this is just a sparing Monk-y but let's get to it heh!". Jumping back distance almost to the ledge getting some distance, Takashi formed a quick weave of signs. He used the chakra around him to slowly generate B-rank source of water above the both of them using both his chakra and the foundation of the Mizu Soujuu. That's one of the main reasons he wanted it on the roof, to be able to draw moisture of the clouds and sky more easily and quickly.

• Water Creation After performing the necessary hand seals, the user is able to create water using their own chakra as the initial source. When used, the user's chakra is released from their torso and arms, which when coming into contact with the air, draws on and enhances the moisture present there. Water then explodes into existence off of the shinobi and into the air where it levitates around them, enabling them to use water jutsu with the newly created source. The more chakra put into this technique, the more water is created. With a D-rank of chakra, enough water is created (in conjunction with Mizu Soujuu) to enable the use of a C-rank technique without a secondary water source. Likewise a C-rank of chakra, enables the use of a B-rank technique without a secondary water source, and a B-rank of chakra enables the use of an A-rank technique without a secondary water source. However, because the water is already created at this point, the next Suiton ninjutsu used with the water created will not have a Stamina cost. (Without Mizu Soujuu, the amount of water created is one rank lower than normal)
(Note: Creating a B-rank of water WILL allow a user to produce multiple D/C-rank by 20% reduced chakra.. If you create a B-rank amount of water, it will alleviate the stamina cost of the next B-rank ninjutsu technique, or the next C-rank and D-rank technique used.)
