Appearance: Ganyma is of average height, a bit short for troll standards. He is bulky from constant training and fighting, and has a wide-set torso and thick arms. His poor posture makes him look shorter than he is. Ganyma wears a variety of garments for publicity, but keeps it light and casual when in his regular ‘Ganyma’ alias. Tanktops, jeans and boots are his preferred style.
As “Shield”, Ganyma wears bright colors, faux-horned gear, and outfits appropriately revealing for ringwear. He always obscures his face with a mask.
His face is square and masculine, boasting a crooked nose from many fights that has started to reset itself. His nose hinders his speech and gives him a rather stuffed manner of speaking, though he has a deep tone of voice. He has deep set eyes that give him a sympathetic and soft look about him.
Ganyma’s horns are reminiscent of his symbol. They emerge near his temples, with the horn on his left side of his head forming a cross. The other shoots out horizontally, and turns suddenly at about a 100-degree angle and then hooks at the tip. His hair is usually pulled into a high ponytail.
Another peculiarity concerning Ganyma’s appearance is a relative lack of blemishes. Newfound latent powers have caused his form to regenerate and remove many lasting injuries from his person. He looks uncharacteristically shiny and new for having been in countless scuffles.
Weapon:Ganyma’s weapons of choice are his fingerless grappling gloves, outfitted with push daggers just above his knuckles. He can eject the blades from his gloves by putting pressure on the back of his hand, and can return them manually. He prefers to incapacitate and take down an enemy with his own bare hands, rather than using his concealed weapons. He rather enjoys attention that he receives for wrestling trolls into submission! Though, with the amount of violence constantly surrounding troll society, Ganyma does submit to keeping his blades sharp for special occasions that need a certain “push”. Since winning Superstar Authority, he's had some shiny, hot pink mid-range darts installed in them to help him with long range fights!

Power:Regeneration - Ganyma can reduce damage by regrowing, shifting and increasing muscle mass throughout his body that takes the form of chitinous plates. Its primary effectiveness is used when he can anticipate an attack and trigger the muscle-mass build-up. Unless he protects himself beforehand to lessen the effect, Ganyma experiences the full range of pain from a given attack and the additional sensation of healing his wounded body parts also causes him an immense deal of distress. Personality
Throughout his young life, Ganyma grew to realize that living a smooth and unassuming life as a midblood was not for him. He takes self-reliance very seriously, and has deep respect for those who rise above their station - whether it be scrappy lowbloods or successful highbloods, he is fascinated by those who rise in rank. Ganyma has sense enough to know the trolls that get up, make friends and use them to be powerful and independent are something to be respected. Unfortunately, these romanticized ideas of society consistently lead him to believe that the middle-class is mediocre, and those without aspirations or weight are worthless on Alternia. His main desire is to be independent – his own troll. Ganyma’s fight against mediocrity has been a whirlwind, and has shaped his ideals over time.
During his adolescence, the reveal that he possessed regenerative capabilities caused him a great deal of stress. After many failures and finding himself at rock bottom, he considered himself to be a failure himself. Exceptional, and yet incapable. Ganyma was aimless until he committed himself fully to his identity as a Gladiaterror. With a significant amount of counseling and constant training, Ganyma has settled in his path. He feels as though rising through the ranks of the Alternian League of Gladiaterrors will sate his ambition, while he recovers from his prior traumas as a result of his prior rebel and military work. The aspiration to be great on Alternia has preceded Ganyma’s goals up until this point, but as Ganyma has grown he has also realized the cost of notoriety. Whether his current strategy of laying low will turn into fear and complacency - or whether he will become restless and desire power and greater esteem - is yet to be seen.
While the difference between right and wrong is often grey, the value of innocent life is clear to Ganyma. He believes that innocents, especially children, should be protected. He has a low threshold of tolerance for violence against children and generally wants to do good for Alternia. His focus on protecting others has only amplified as he has grown. The need to shield the young and innocent has given Ganyma fire to do right by himself, which has changed his moral compass as he has aged. However, Ganyma is still a fickle troll. While he no longer vies for infamy, he often consciously and unconsciously allies himself with those who have ulterior motives. Part of Ganyma’s capriciousness stems from his gullibility. His stance on a particular subject might change due to peer pressure, misunderstanding or otherwise, and he can be a bit of a wild card depending on the controversy and amount of players surrounding any current event. This has caused his views to skew largely royalist – poor experiences and betrayals on behalf of the rebel movement bias him to what he believes is right, which tends to come from government propaganda.
Friendly and good-natured, it doesn’t take Ganyma much effort to get along with those he interacts with. However he is quite transparent to outside observers concerning who he respects and who he does not. He sees the good in trolls first, which often works against him, and rarely ever assumes poor character or mal-intent. Many character flaws tend to go over his head, as he is not very bright, and when faced with perplexing situations he always finds the most straight-forward (but not necessarily the least destructive) answer. He tends to conform to the atmosphere of the room given his willingness to fit in to get ahead, as he has a hard time standing up for himself and exploiting opportunities in the presence of more intelligent trolls. While he has a hard time understanding social cues, Ganyma recalls faces and names exceptionally well. He has a very good memory due to the fact that he tends to repeat information until he memorizes it. However, this can sometimes backfire if a seed of misinformation is planted. It is very difficult for Ganyma to be set-off by verbal threats or mind games, and when he is affected by these threats he is much more likely to internalize them due to his insecurities than act out. Physical threats are much more easily used to get through to Ganyma. As a rule, he prefers to act out of self-defense, but when pushed far enough or when told to do by a superior so he will act aggressively.
Ganyma has traveled many places since his childhood, and knows New Hemisect like the back of his hand. He is a social troll, spending a lot of time in city hotspots. In addition to traveling and socializing, Ganyma enjoys working out and wrestling – particularly, masked troll wrestling. As a child, Ganyma was completely taken in by masked troll wrestling. The strict code of honor and high sense of duty, paired with some hemo-anonymous caste of wrestling heroes on the mat allowing for trolls of any blood color to risk it all in the ring. He has become disillusioned with many things in his life, but still holds these matches close to him. While the magic is gone, his passion for wrestling and the simple dichotomy of heels and faces appeal to him. Fighting has become more practical for Ganyma as a teen, and he has realized that the thrill of doing good isn’t as simple as beating down your foes. But, he’s good at it, and he’ll work towards that dream. Ganyma currently works as a famous Gladiaterror in Four Fronds. He represents the entire city as a celebrity as of Superstar Authority!

Strengths & Flaws
Strengths: Ambitious: Ganyma has an extremely strong desire to succeed. Once he sets his eyes on a target, he charges towards it with vigor, setting it as a prominent fixture in his daily routine. Ganyma will go to great lengths to take on these goals, even if he does not have the best judgement in his attack plan. He is willing to take on the most harrowing tasks, as well, as long as he firmly believes in the cause. His ambition and drive can become extremely formidable if his entire heart is into it. Sociable: His comfort in New Hemisect (and now, Four Fronds) has fostered his familiarity with its denizens, and he is well versed in social situations. Ganyma is easy to please, and eager to please. Ganyma will socialize with any troll, regardless of status, and is hard-pressed to hold long-lasting grudges over small ordeals. Notably, Ganyma’s tendency to look over personality flaws and ill-meaning social cues makes him a valuable friend and ally to have. He is easy to get along with and befriend, and because of his socializing Ganyma is often active in the institutions and groups that he is a part of, always trying to get ahead.
Strong: A fighting spirit allows Ganyma to focus his technique on defense and holding his foes at bay. He boasts impressive body strength. Ganyma is particularly good at grappling, which gives him a hand-to-hand advantage. He has a fair bit of speed, too, and makes sure to pay attention to his idols in the ring when he practices high-flying combo moves! He takes great pride in his physical strength, and enjoys a good bout.
Flaws: Simple: Ganyma is, admittedly, not very bright. Though he likes to hang out with those smarter than him, he has a hard time understanding complex ideas. Ganyma tries to cope by repeating information to himself constantly – he knows many directions by heart, and many obvious facts to him are self-evident (who reigns over Alternia, the classes of the hemospectrum, et cetera). However, his gullibility allows for even the simplest of facts to be skewed by a clever foe. If convinced eloquently enough, Ganyma will accept falsehoods as truths because he doesn’t know any better, and often wants to maintain a knowledgeable façade.
Shortsighted: While his ambition is great, Ganyma gets tunnel vision in each particular task that he takes, and he endlessly misses the bigger picture. Because of this, Ganyma’s daily life tends to lead him up a staircase of ambition and back down again: he tackles ideas of grandeur with full intensity only to reach the end of the climb with no bright ideas nor a clue of how to proceed, leaving his poorly formed plans to crumble. Big picture ideas (and often many thoughts at once) are hard for Ganyma to process, and he tends to choose a direction at random (or whatever seems easiest) under duress. His head-first methods of completing objectives are either overly simplistic or overly complex, with gaping holes in both techniques, and often he’ll end up with a completely different result than he intended – which frequently endangers him. Dependent: The combination of ambition and lack of foresight causes Ganyma regular issues with insecurity. Ganyma’s inability to work on his own without his plans crashing to the ground has caused him, quite tragically, to be dependent on more aggressive and crafty trolls. He is a constant bag of contradictions, craving self-reliance while constantly toadying up to those above him. Ganyma’s cycle of dependence comes and goes. When he is up and inspired by his ambitious training towards independence, Ganyma gains an inflated self-importance. Inevitably, when he hits a deadly snag, Ganyma will retreat into self-blame, falling under the wing of whomever will take him in, foster his ego and feed his misconceptions about independence. If he doesn’t have a mentor to follow, he’ll be completely aimless until he finds a cause to fight for.

Strochio
Strochio is a monstrous dinosaur lusus whose foul attitude and sharp gaze consistently catches young trolls off guard. He is a great, bulky bird-like creature, standing at 11 feet tall. Strochio boasts huge saurian legs, and similarly reptilian arms instead of wings. He uses his bulky limbs to push others "the hell out the way" in the city, but finds being in confined spaces upsetting. Strochio prefers to wander in open areas, and enjoys self-reliant and dangerous behavior. He is disgusted by his son’s dependence, and constantly berated and verbally abused him during his childhood.
As a child, Strochio employed a strict regimen of “training” for Ganyma. He would pick up his son (often kicking and screaming by the hair) and drag him into the city, making him walk home in the dangerous streets. In attempts to make him stronger, Ganyma learned street skills and the way of the city (fostering his love of wrestling while attending troll wrestling matches), at the cost of deep seated hatred for his lusus. Strochio would also set traps for him and wait in ambush, often fighting his son to toughen him up.
Ganyma hasn’t seen his lusus since the Old Hemisect incident, and would prefer to keep it this way.

Ganyma's Hive
Ganyma’s old hive was an eyesore. It was basic and blocky, resembling a layer-cake. Originally built partially underground, Strochio’s damage to the hive caused the bottom floors to be unusable and the then-child Ganyma had been forced to build upwards. It was an eye-sore, poorly built and dangerous. The hive was located on the outskirts of New Hemisect, but to Strochio’s chagrin development began to build around it.
Ganyma has since left his home, leaving Strochio behind to waste away in his sparsely furnished hive. He didn’t have many belongings to start with, but after joining the rebellion and turning himself in he opted to leave all of it behind.
The battle of Old Hemisect began Ganyma’s interest in construction. He looked for a hive, or a place to build a more suitable hive, but lived recuperacoon hopping in various hostels in the city while he recuperated from his trauma.
After returning to his old hive and finding it condemned, he was captured by law enforcement and tried in a hunting game to pay for his crimes. Upon his escape, Ganyma was recruited by Traian Munera, the head of the Alternian League of Gladiaterrors, and is now living with comfort in Four Fronds after his success in the Superstar Authority.

Shop of Little Horrors On a not-so-routine trip through the city with his lusus Strochio, Ganyma meets Rasali, a troll as bubbly as he. While they end up breaking a few precious antiques and committing theft in the process, their impromptu shopping trip will be one to remember for a long while.
Lessons of Wrestlin' While at an unofficial "back-lot" wrestling match in New Hemisect, Ganyma enlists the aid of an older yellowblood Minist to help him find his lusus. His excitement about wrestling then spurs him to request a demonstration from Minist, who promptly proceeds to kick his tiny butt.
Tussle buddies! Ganyma is training at a junkyard outside of New Hemisect when another fight-loving troll, Forera, stops by. They quickly become pals when they stage a playfight at the yard!
Under Disastrous Circumstances Ganyma assists the loyalists in cleaning up the damage of the New Hemisect earthquake, and runs across a friendly purpleblood, Chigur, in the meantime.
No Good Deed Goes Unpunished Ganyma has a day off of Strochio's harsh training, and squanders it by taking charity from a well-meaning greenblood.
Defeating the Forces of Mediocrity Ganyma wanders through the city during one of his lusus' training exercises, and runs into Sarcel, who would often rather be invisible. He is inspired to make her better through shenanigans!
Quadrant's Day Dance Ganyma attends a dance and gets framed for murder something or other -- it's all very confusing.
Bloodfest 2014 Ganyma meets a really nice kid named Sinter, has a lot of fun and makes off with a gold trophy for constructing a nearly perfect snowtroll!
TEEN GROWTH Ganyma learns some harsh truths about trust and the hemospectrum.
WACKY Disaster Ganyma met some wonderful kids and led them to an impressive victory for the rebels searching through the desert!
Just Vigilance Ganyma's idealism is tested when innocents are harmed, and realizing this he finds he is unable to cope with tragedy.
Flight of the Phoenix Ganyma realizes that he's made a terrible mistake, and that justice isn't black and white. He betrays the rebels in a bout of horror and confusion, and realizes his latent powers when in a dire situation.
OHC Rehabilitation and Counseling Center Ganyma thinks about what he's done. After the battle, the wayward teen seeks solace in a newly constructed rehabilitation center, and finds Forera there too. He vows to find his friends, ensure their safety, and to protect the innocent.
Growth -Kursha/Luxara * Ganyma meets up with Luxara to patch things up and is dropped in on by Kursha. After a bloody battle, he manages to escape.
Unjust Virulence After the explosive battle with Kursha, Ganyma stumbles wounded into Rasali's hive for her care.
Reduced Punishment After Forera and Vulpin frame Ganyma to get out of the Busthind Prisons, the three are sentenced to a Four Fronds hunting game as punishment.
Hatoful Rescue Ganyma catches up with Didero, whose lusus has been left in Punishment Pits, and Odette, who considers him to be a traitor.
Downtime Bouts * Luxara and Ganyma have a fun scrimmage to catch up and relax.

-If Ganyma were to have an ancestor, his name would be El Luchador.
He was a mighty force in his time, being a universally liked celebrity and nearly deified in the ring. He never lost a match -- and, in fact, never drew blood, leading to his signature: El Luchador was hemoanonymous, even in his fame.
For lowbloods, he symbolized power and persistence: rumors in the dregs of the city were that he was the lowest of lowbloods, determined to make a difference and prove the might of the small. For others, he was thought to be a rebel seadweller. Small resistance groups cropped up in his name, often using his visage as a symbol of the revolution.
Even highbloods got in on the myth of El Luchador, seeing his undying code of honor as a sign of his allegiance with the Imperial agenda. No matter where one grew up or what their status, El Luchador could be found. He was surely the peak of both extremes.
El Luchador's notoriety eventually did him in. In his final match, a lucha de apuestas against his kismesis, sabotage lead to his untimely defeat. Though the match was rigged, the fighting was passionate -- a spectacle that no troll could deny the magnitude of. However, what was done was done. On the line was the mask of the loser. As his kismesis ripped off his mask, his identity was revealed to the world: not only was his honor as a wrestler stripped away, it exposed the brilliant teal color of his blood.
The myth of El Luchador turned to dust. The rift between hemotypes was as before -- now seemingly betrayed by the apparent hubris of the troll. After that fateful day, he was never heard from again. (lovely ancestor artwork by seekingCylem!)

- Whether or not he'd make a good sburb player is up in the air, but Ganyma would knock 'em dead with his God Tier outfit as the Page of Mind.
- If Ganyma was a human, his name would be Daniel Castillo.
- Ganyma's boots were the only wriggling day gift that Strochio ever gave him without strings attached... Sort of. That is, he had to complete a lengthy and arduous set of trials to get to the boots first, and was only gifted them out of pity (a moment of weakness for Strochio) after he broke down and cried for hours after breaking a couple of bones. It wasn't a good day.

-Fun fact: Ganyma's November 18th birthday makes him a Libra, considering the Ophiuchus sign! (Without it he's a Scorpio).
