The Human Pyotr Volkov Meaning: His first name means “stone” and is derived from his father’s surname, Petrov. It was chosen by his mother, and he is none too fond of it. His surname means “son of the wolf”. Both names are Belastranan (Russian) in origin. Nicknames: He prefers Volkov or Wolf. However, he can tolerate Peter, the Common (English) version of his name. If you call him Petya, your life is probably forfeit, though. Proper Address: Mister Volkov
Gender: Male Age: 23-ish Appearance: Pyotr has the lean form of a swimmer and he towers above much of the populace at a cool 6’4”. His fair Belastranan skin is pleasantly offset by his curly, raven-black hair. Given his (let’s be honest) extremely attractive appearance and feline grace, it is easy to overlook the cruelty in his icy grey eyes. Designation: Unknown Bonded: V’yuga (eventually) Companion(s): Gorapesnya
Origin: He comes from Ledograd, capital city of the vast, frozen country of Belastrana. Station: Though currently a warrior-for-hire, he was a dragun (dragoon) in the Belastranan cavalry. Spouse: That’ll be the day.
Likes: Animals - they are the only truly innocent creatures in existence. Dislikes: People - I don't discriminate, I hate everyone equally.
History: Born the b*****d son of a nobleman and a maid, Pyotr’s lot in life had unpleasant beginnings to say the least. His mother worked in the palace in Ledograd, the capital city of Belastrana, and by the time she had realized that she was pregnant, the nobleman was long gone, back to his family’s estates, no doubt. She quickly rectified the situation by marrying another servant in the palace, but she knew the truth, and there were always rumors. Perhaps the only palace servant who did not know the truth of Pyotr’s conception was the man his mother married.
Growing up, he was reviled as a b*****d, as though his birth was his fault and the stigma was contagious. He had no one to befriend him, no one to turn to, and no one to rely on save himself. His mother kept treating him as though he would somehow miraculously call fortune and status into their lives; and her husband was oblivious. His true father, meanwhile, knew nothing of his existence, and went on living with his noble wife and their spoiled little children.
He grew to hate them all.
When the opportunity presented itself, Pyotr leapt at the chance to escape life in the palace. He joined the military and quickly outmatched all of his peers. He soon found himself more capable than any of his superiors, as well. However, even this life did not content him. There were too many rules. Too many incompetents. Whether he got fed up and left on his own or was court-martialed for his behavior, it hardly mattered. The end result was the same. He found himself free from any expectations or restraints for the first time in his life.
Little is known about what he did in those few years after he left the military. He wandered, to be sure, but where he went or what his activities were remains a mystery. What is known is that by the time he came to Sunderland, he had made a name for himself as a warrior-for-hire.
About: To say that Pyotr has issues would be an understatement of epic proportions. Between his mother’s fawning and the rest of the world’s disdain, he became a very private and self-sufficient person early in his life. The confusion and defensive behavior of a little boy soon evolved into something more. Something much darker. Pyotr’s heart became bitter and cynical. He began to disdain just about everyone and thing that he considered weak or inferior in any way. Unfortunately for the world in general, his exceptional intellect and his innate talent to easily succeed at anything he tries means that he considers most everyone to be inferior.
What’s more, this angry, bitter man has a truly magnificent cruel streak and really knows how to hold a grudge. He is rarely overt about it, often using his cunning to strike from a distance or in such a way that his actions cannot be traced back to him; but he is not above dealing with matters directly. In fact, he has a particular fondness for all manner of blades and he has made an art of their use.
However, just by looking at him, one would not notice any of this. Pyotr has more charm and charisma than even the most successful of players and he knows well how to deal with people. He has certainly had enough practice. His aura is such that people flock to him, want to follow him, and he is good enough at keeping his dark soul secret that few ever learn the truth of him unless he wishes it. In a word, Pyotr is terrifying.
Important People: • Anna Petrova – Pyotr’s little half-sister. He holds a considerable grudge against her. • Alexei Petrov – His little half-brother. Pyotr is planning his revenge against his little brother and already, he is carefully laying the groundwork.

The Companion Gorapesnya Meaning: It is made of the Belstranan (Russian) words gora meaning “mountain” and pesnya meaning “song”. Nicknames: Pesnya
Gender: Male Age: Adult Appearance: His bright green eyes are offset by predominantly white fur overlaid by grey in a pattern reminiscent of snow-capped mountains. That, or birch bark.
Mate: None
Obtained: RNG during the Midsummer’s Eve Event. Second roll! 8D He is also the first familiar Chrys colored. <3
History: Pyotr first found Pesnya in the mountains of Belastrana, so very far from the rabbit’s home. The then-soldier was participating in a routine patrol and had stumbled across a merchant, dead, probably caught in the storm and frozen. But the merchant was not alone. He had with him the usual set of wares, but with one exception. The merchant was trading in live animals. Rabbits to be exact – the largest rabbits the soldier had ever seen, and they were babies, still. Unfortunately, it looked like none of them had made it, either. The merchant’s folly had cost more than his own life – it had taken the lives of innocent animals, as well, animals that were more accustomed to temperate weather than the harsh climate of Pyotr’s country.
Then, when he was about to lay them to rest, one stirred. His whiskers twitched and he started shivering. He was clearly in a bad state, but he was alive. Pyotr intended to keep it that way. Slowly, carefully, the soldier nursed his newfound companion back to health, and in doing so, gained the trust and loyalty of an animal that had no reason to like humans. They became inseparable, finding in each other the friendship and trust that neither could find anywhere else in human-kind.
About: Just because he comes from a species that is typically considered prey does not mean that this rabbit is anyone’s chew-toy. Gorapesnya is quite confident, in fact, bordering on fearless, and seems to carry with him all the steady wisdom of a grizzled, life-long soldier. Of course, he rarely has cause to call upon the fighting strength of his hind feet, which is just as well. He gets grouchy after his life is threatened. Instead, Pesnya makes a very good scout and guard. He also helps Pyotr by fetching the odd item and picking medicinal herbs for when they need them. After all, even as skilled of warriors as they still get wounded or sick sometimes.
