Welcome to the Winter 2011 Civilian Event!
The premise of this contest is that, to celebrate the holiday season and a 'giving back' mentality, the mayor of Destiny City has put on a city-wide food and clothing drive. Throughout the month of December, you are encouraged to write solos and role-plays as civilians with the theme of civic duty.
During the last week of the month, an thread will be opened for the Winter Gala, an ORP for all participants [and non-participants that would still like to join the RP], during which the IC donations will be tallied, and a winner [or winning team] will be announced.
ICly, prizes are to include an award from the city, as well as a bit of PR for yourself or your team on a live television broadcast! Awesome!
OOCly, winners will be given free alternate civilian art in appropriate winter attire. There is no set number of winners, and it is based both off number of entrants, and the numbers of 'donations' they bring in. The more, the merrier!

How it Works
If you haven't guessed it yet, this event is an oh so cleverly disguised activity contest! The goal is to write as much as possible with your friends during the month of december!
It's a simple contest, but keep the following guidelines in mind:
1. Only RPs done in civilian form count, for any characters involved in the RP/Solo. -That means that while they can be powered, they must be played in their unpowered form for the purposes of this contest. - If you write a civilian with a powered character, that RP only counts for the civilian involved.
2. This event is open to all players of "humans" in the shop [Sorry, Guardian Cats!], that means that anyone officially in the game world, Order or Chaos, chibi or adult, can enter this contest, as long as they do it in their unpowered form. This also includes members of staff that wish to participate, as judging is done solely off numbers of RP/Solos, not off of any staff preference/choice.
3. You may enter as many of your characters into this contest as you want. However, 'RPs' with yourself do not count for the contest.
4. You may enter as a team! However, 'tis the season to share, and pooling your donations means that you must also select an IC 'spokesperson' for your team, who will also be the person that wins the prize, should your team win. You are under no obligations to team up. - Does one of your friends constantly have horrible luck with the dice? Now is your chance to help them out, by giving them your donation points! - Teams must have a team name, and must be of three or more characters. - You may only have your character in one team. Additionally, your character cannot be in a team with one of your other characters. - Each team member must contribute at least three roleplays to count. No coasting, and getting the prize!

Donation Tallying
So how do you know how much you've ICly donated? Simple!
Each RP [Reg/ORP] you write between 12/1/2011-12/31/2011, that fulfills both the requirements for this contest [civilians], and the RP requirements for the shop [450 words per character], counts as three donation boxes worth of clothing or foodstuffs.
Each solo you write, that fulfills both the requirements for this contest [civilians], and the RP requirements for the shop [450 words per character], counts as one donation boxe worth of clothing or foodstuffs.
Are you worried that what you've written may/may not count? Here's an easy way to tell:
1. Is your character unpowered in this RP or Solo? [Y/N] 2. Did you contribute at least 450 words? [Y/N] 3. Is the scene actually complete/wrapped? [Y/N] 4. Was the RP on or after December 1st? [Y/N] 5. Was the RP finished on or before December 31st? [Y/N]
If you said no to any of the above, it does not count.

Get Involved!Step One: Fill out the short form below, post it in this thread.* Step Two: Throughout the event, edit your post to include links to qualified role-plays and solos**. Step Three: Update your total 'Food and Clothing' tally count, to make things easier for us. Step Four: ???? Step Five: Profit.
*Be sure to fill out the form entirely. Questions? I've Got Answers!
Q. If 2 team members RP together, does that count as two RPs for the team? A. Yes! How a team score is calculated is by adding each character's individual scores together. It wouldn't be very fair if a team didn't get points for interacting with each other! That's the point of a team!
Q. If Kess and General Uranophane do an RP, does that count? A. It only counts for Kess, since she's the civilian in that encounter. This is a civilian event!
Q. What if it's a human and a cat? A. Same song, second verse!
Q. Do all the RPs have to be about the food drive? A. No! If you look at the requirements, all civilian RPs for the month of december count. You must have at least one concerning the food drive, however, to establish IC participation. Plus, it's a cool theme, anyway!
Q. Can I offer my character's place of work as a drop-off? A. Any large, city owned property will have some sort of donation bin/station maintained! Feel free to include it in whatever posts you want. City employees come by about twice a day to check the bins. So, places like schools, libraries, the post office, etc., all have donation points!
Q. Where do I asked more questions? A. RIGHT HERE. Just not in the same post as your sign up, please.

Can I offer the Destiny City Central Library as a donation drop off point? They're doing Letters to Santa, so I think they'd be really open to other civic/helping out things, and it would make sense!
Good question! Any city-owned property site will have some sort of donation station [typically a bin], so feel free. Tony wouldn't have to maintain it/monitor it, but it would be inside the building. Twice a day, city employees will come by to empty it.
