Candice stood facing a window from one of the upper floors of the library at HITS. She looked down and wondered at the creation of the school. They had been missing for over a month and this school was just there for them when they returned? She was indubitably confused and slightly suspicious of how it came to be. Only thing that she did know and understand out of everything that happened was that she would never forget what happened in the Surrounding. She would never forget dying and coming back to life. There was just no way was that possible.
With that death also came back another revelation for her. She knew that she was lucky to be alive as well as all those people that just happened to appear there. With the rest of her life, she wanted to be able to help others; she wanted to be able to help people live their lives to the fullest. Although not religious and didn’t really thank a ‘god’ for any of it, she did feel as though she was blessed and had to share it with others. Before disappearing, Candice had thought that she would go into a field of study where she’d be active in life, but just so she could stay healthy herself. But reappearing back home again, she chose to study medicine, eventually wanting to become a surgeon that was proficient in performing all surgeries.
It wasn’t something that was going to be easily done, and that was the other reasons why Candice chose this career path. She looked back at the stack of books on the table and just continued to stare for a little while. Those books, the thousands of dollars she spent on the medical books… That was what she spent her time doing, at least, for now. Her precious dolls and fencing where there with her too, but she didn’t allow herself any time to really just think about the Surrounding again. Until now, anyways.
She sat back down at the table and opened one of her books. After reading a few lines, she put her head on the book and well, just sat there, contemplating about anything. Well not just anything, but how she was going to move on with what had happened. Candice knew that she was alive and she should be happy, but there was something she couldn’t put aside. Putting death aside, what about those people… Those ‘Senshi’ and what not. What about those people that were attacking them? For the most part, Candice was very much convinced that the ‘Senshi’ were the ‘good’ people, and the ones attacking them were the ‘bad’… But there was no distinct answer to anything.
Candice opened her notebook and started to make a list.
1. Be positive and work towards the future instead of letting the past keep getting to you.
2. Find out if it was really everyone that came back alive. Look for familiar faces.
3. Meet both one of these ‘good’ and ‘bad’ people. Try and figure out what is going on and maybe fish out an answer to how they ended up in space in the first place.
4. …

She looked at her number three bullet and surprised herself. They were probably the ones that caused everything to happen. Not just one of the groups, but both. Candice thought about it, and well, meeting these two groups… Would they be nice to her or just try to kill her again? She sighed and put a question mark before the three. She knew deep inside that she wanted answers. ”I already died once… If I found some answers to why and how everything happened… Maybe I’d be okay with dying again?”
Of course, no matter what her reasoning was, she just wanted answers. No one really wanted to die again, but things just need to make sense again in life. She didn’t want to walk down the street and wonder if there would be those ‘youma’ things popping out of nowhere attacking. ”Maybe that’s all those people do… both ‘good’ and ‘bad’… Maybe they just have to attract the bad things…”
With another sigh, she wrote something down for number four:
Stop letting these odd things get to you. Your life is yours. Don’t die just to experience it again. Make something of your life. Make people remember you.
Candice read over her list. She knew that it was a long shot, but hey, it was worth a try. She smiled at herself and re-read the lines a few times. ”I need to stop walloping in sadness. I need to take in the good of the experience and move myself forward.” With a determined look on her face, Candice continued to read her book and take notes. She was going to be great, and she knew it.
