History
Hector was born in a well off family, the eldest of four pups. But his family had a good many enemies over their territory, so he was pup-knapped before he could form solid memories of his family. The dog otter that had stolen him had thought to kill him, but his mate begged for the pup's life, as the pair had been unable to have their own pups. The dog caved in and spared Hector's life, raising him, drilling into his head that he was not the pup's father, that he was his superior and that the pup had been found in the forest alone.

Hector grew learning how to traverse even the largest of rivers skillfully, He grew to head a pack of otters of similar skills and inclination to steal valuables from other creatures.

When he was young, a traveling old she-wolf cursed him to live a half-life, one not touched by warmth or beauty. The only cure was to forsake his ways at the paws of one pure of soul. He scoffed at this and went through life haphazardly, not really caring that the gypsy's curse was true. He ignored from females unless they were of use to him, he took little value in anything around him, even the things he stole held no value to the aging dog otter.

It wasn't until he began the endless rivalry with another dog of the same profession that he began to see a bit of what he was missing. A female came into the picture, heading another band of otters and took leadership over a sort of coalition of the various packs. She intrigued him with her leadership qualities, her ability to see through others, and her strong personality. It was during a raid on a human's pearl farm that he, his rival, the female, and a pawful of others were captured by humans. They were relocated to the Oasis where he continued his rivalry with the other dog.

After a few more encounters, he agreed to take the female, Elizabeth, as his mate, finally breaking the curse. They had three pups together, two regulars and a demon, and had to deal with a good bit of problems in that, but they seem to be working through them, albeit slowly.

The family still had a bunch of problems when things started to change among the grown children. His baby girl became involved with a strange demonic with a thirst for blood and an aversion to sunlight. She eventually became pregnant and bore three pups, herself, two females and a male, all like their father in their tastes. His youngest granddaughter eventually fell in love with one of the angelic Morgana's brood and bore three pups of her own.
His youngest son left the family to spend time with other demonics and began working under another of the pirate lords, Mistress Ching, guarding her territory against those who would threaten her or her followers.

History
Pearl was born second of Elizabeth Swann and Hector Barbossa's three children. She always was the quick, quiet one among others not her brothers. She spent a lot of her pup-hood on her own, honing her speed-based skills.

After reaching adult-hood, the otter queen set out to find her own territory, away from her mother and father's shared territory. She has yet to find one, however, and it is becoming more and more frustrating as the summer wanes into fall.

While searching for her own den, Pearl met another otter by the name of Spike. Charming and amusing, she became very fond of him very quickly, to a point where she had no qualms over sharing the den she had finally found with him. When she realized she was expecting, however, she became scared, worrying that he would not stay when he found out he would be a father. Upon telling him, though, he promised her that he wouldn't leave her.

Pearl bore three pups, a female they named Melantha and a pair of fraternal twins, a male, William, and female, Cecily.

Soon after her pups grew into adulthood, she watched carefully as Cecily grew closer and closer to the son of one of her mother's friends. It was no surprise that they would eventually become mates and Pearl was quite happy two see her daughter bear three beautiful pups.
