Niflhel nodded to Metis watching as she took her berry and offered it to Aquitania. He smiled softly though he didn't let it linger long. His focus went back to the serpent. He was looking around the sky at it, "Well, it's a giant white pearlescent serpent like dragon. It's face, now that's finally shown us it; looks like it has a beak for a nose but I don't think it's a real beak. Long horns and it's Flat faced. It's got talons that are ripping holes in the sky. Like thousands of tiny stars."
He paused in his description of the creature, before carrying on. "The lightning around it is brilliant white, mostly. There's some strange purple bolts; they feel . . . off." He said as his eyes trained on the creature but watching the lightning around as well, "Occasionally you'll see a stranger black bolt hit." He looked over to her. "Perhaps the creature is the void? Or maybe one of the colors of lightning?"
There was a pause when she suddenly moved away and pulled out a charm. The Saturn knight was curious as he watched. It was as if there was some sort of dryad or harpy - possibly a mix of the two came towering over them. He moved when it looked towards the children. He wasn't sure what it was but he wasn't going to let it at the chibis or Snowball. Thankfully Metis called it's attention.
He watched as the creature went to strike the Calamitous Hollow and he gave a low whistle. "What was that?" He looked back at the senshi of third sight. Who had let lose a heavy breath. "And are you alright?"

Super Hybris location: H9 -> falling into G10 actions:attack debuff Total: (9 + 5 rank + 15 using fractured crystal to reach CH) = 29 HP: (90 + 2 Lacerta healing - 30 CH backsh-) = 62
How dare this magnificent monster use their even more magnificent Dark Mirror's attack into a beautiful set piece! Hybris couldn't help but think maybe his own sense of drama, posing, and lighting had met its natural rival. He kept that firmly in mind as he saw the tiny, shredded glimpses of another world, pushing away the sense that this stage that had been set for their battle was, perhaps, extremely temporary.
Lightning began to strike down, but thankfully the court remained under Prince Remarque's big, powerful wings and magic. The formation of clone puppets above them took strike after strike of lightning in their place, giving Hybris a chance to watch what was happening in other areas. Figures flew up higher and higher to strike powerful blows against the beast.
The most notable, in Hybris's opinion, was the winged princess in the showy pale dress. As Laurelite's form faded from his own, Hybris passed a hand in front of his face once more, this time taking on Princess Ganymede's visage. Hand on hip, he felt he was missing something. After a moment, Hybris fished in his subspace for a bottle of wine, but his senses came across an...interesting thought.
Pulling out the fractured crystal he'd stashed there, Hybris held it up in consideration. It had been useful before for traveling, well, rather, escaping certain situations before. Would it work outside of Earth? There were a few factors at aply that might affect it, correct? But then again, magic. With the dragon of all things becoming more aggressive and having already gotten to witness the Mirror's might and cleverness, did he really need to see the rest?
(Yes, actually, he'd hate to miss something so exciting.)
Then again, would he ever get the chance to see where the crystal could take him, out here? Would take him home or beyond those tears in the sky? Or maybe into the safety of the Mirror? Or would it do nothing at all?
Princess Ganymede's form, a soft and pale figure among the dark veils of the Court, shifted indecisively from foot to foot for a long moment before slicing a tear of his own through the air. 'Well, I should probably look into something. I'll be back in just a moment," Hybris lied, the princess's voice lilting with important purpose.
Stepping through, he thought, It's a bit of shame. I'd really like to get a closer look at the dragon.
On high, there was a sudden, high-pitched scream that carried with an almost professional clarity. Clutching his chest, Hybris fell down towards the scaled back of the dragon and immediately kicked back off it, pointy heel slamming into a vulnerable, cracked scale. Shooting away through the sky, the still screaming figure began to fall back down to the battlefield. Thankfully the gravity situation was a lot more useful than his illusory wings, even though he still fell like a rock compared to the real thing.
Moments later, Larimar would find that instead of a lightning strike nearly hitting zem from the sky, it was a fluffy, winged "Princess Ganymede."
Transcended Eternal Sailor Kerberos Location: F3 Action: Giving energy to the shield + attacking with pin; also verbally offering healing to anyone in F3 (if characters accept, Kerberos will heal next round!) Total: 10 + 10 + 10 = 30 HP: 108 - 10 (giving to shield) - 38 (round) + 29 (Aliez shield) = 89 HP
Kerberos nodded to Daesva. “I’d be happy to explain as best I can,” he said.
They had to plan for tomorrow. It was all they had.
The monster’s eyes were on them, now. For a moment, Kerberos felt a chill, but in the same moment, he felt determination.
It had noticed them. It knew them as threats. Which meant their attacks were working. It knew it was in danger, and it knew they could beat it.
They just had to go a little longer.
“Thousand Asphodel Chorus,” he whispered, again. This time, he gently brushed Almadel’s pin as he activated his magic, and felt a little extra power surge through him.
“Please,” he said, softly. “I still have more to give. And if any of you need healing, let me know. Though Aliez seems to be doing an excellent job keeping us safe.”
He only had one more shot of offense magic, anyway. He’d have to give what he could in other ways. And every second they kept the shield up, every bit they did to keep everyone safe—that was one more second they could keep fighting.

“You’d think with this many people on its case, it might leave?” Belmont suggested, a little more agitated now than he had been before. “What world could be worth this much trouble? There’s plenty else out there to eat.”
…Not that he wanted any other worlds to be devoured, but why was this thing so insistent on their world? It wasn’t the first time he’d thought about whatever it was that must make Earth special. He wondered if it was worth the attention of a creature such as this–or any others out there.
He wasn’t afraid, but it was only because he was still riding a wave of adrenaline.
“You did a good hit there, though,” he praised, though there wasn't really any way to judge what made a hit good or not. “Hope you’ve got a few more in you. Let me know if you need a break, all right?”

There was a moment of clarity in which Irkalla landed back on the ground from her attack on the underbelly of the creature. The fact that the attacks being launched at the Hollow did little more to piss it off had Irkalla wondering for a moment if all the defenders of Earth were doomed. It was much more powerful than they were, and even the bolstered attacks from the Negaverse, Dark Mirror Court and even the Moon, while effective, were not enough to douse the life from the beast. What more would it take to effectively silence the creature's rampage enough that they could imprison it once more?
Closing her eyes and registering the most soothing sound echoing within her ears did Irkalla inhale slowly before releasing her breath. Something needed to change. Opening herself up to the realm of possibilities did she walk forward, as if almost in a trance. Her cord of instruments was clenched in her fists and she slowly brought the two ends of the rope together before silently calling out to Cosmos for a helping hand. Inwardly the Squire wasn't sure anything she could do would help but yet, in that moment, there was a certainty that she was ready for more...
Irkalla mouthed her powered name before swiftly closing her eyes. The silent prayer she sent up to wherever real space lingered was heartfelt and full of passion ...
Irkalla did not expect a response. She was too far away and in a place where Cosmos could not find them, right?
Wrong.
A new strength welled up inside of the brunette and her outfit lengthened and when she let go of the cords of her rope the weapon had changed in a flash of light. Now it was pure metal and the giant gold star hung squarely in the center of the hoop that the cord had formed ...
Thank you Cosmos. I won't waste this gift that you have sent.
And Irkalla didn't. Feeling the shock of the damage she received did the knight leap up once more in order to strike out with the golden hoop that she now carried. The backlash from the attack struck her and even as she was landing she rummaged around in her subspace before triumphantly pulling out the berry and eating it. Was it wise to eat something she didn't know the effects of, probably not, but it was worth a shot to keep fighting on.

It was getting smaller.
Every hit they applied to the creature was shrinking it. And now—it was massive, yes. Greater than any monster Ashanite could ever even imagine facing. Not for the first time since this had all begun, he wished he still had access to his Wonder—surely a world eater could easily be the “darkest hour” those damned doors were to open for.
But, truth be told, he suspected it would just have disappointed him again.
And besides, he had power he never could have had before.
He could see the top of the monster now.
That meant he could teleport there.
Ashanite vanished in an instant, aiming for the weaker scales on the creature’s back, and struck at it with his bladed staff.
It hurt, to be out there, among the beast’s lightning storms. But he refused to regret his choices. And he teleported himself back down, wavering slightly on his feet.
He grit his teeth and forced himself to straighten, then produced the little bag from Almadel from his subspace and popped the magic berry in his mouth.
Ideally, Ashanite would prefer not to show weakness. Ideally.
Captain Diaboleite Location: I4 Action: Teleporting out of the shield to attack, then back in! Also using his pin~ Total: 4 + 5 + 10 (pin) + 15 (out of shield hit) = 34 HP: 90 - 38 - 35 = 17
Diaboleite glared up at the creature in the clouds.
It was smaller, now—but it was directly attacking them, too. Which meant that things were getting far, far more dangerous.
It was risky to do what he was about to do, Diaboleite knew. But he glared up at the beast, and then in a flicker, he vanished, glad for his new teleportation abilities. From above, he could throw his spear again, this time at the beast’s weaker back scales. And then, in an instant, he returned back under the shield’s protection.
He was definitely beginning to feel the strain. But at least he was still able to keep fighting for a little bit longer.
The shield was cracking, and the monster had noticed them.
Both of those facts settled a cold weight in Elsa’s chest. It felt as if the danger had increased exponentially, just by having the damn thing notice them—but that didn’t mean he was ready to give up. Not yet. Not now.
They just had to keep going a little while longer. Surely they could keep hitting it, keep shrinking it, until it was small enough to be trapped again.
Their brave friend with the papyrus shield, Aberdonia, was keeping it maintained, and Elsa gave him a slightly cocky little salute of thanks. The protection was more than helpful.
His eyes flicked back to Murikabushi and down towards the spike.
Yes. They could do this. Because he needed to show his—boyfriend?? Maybe—the world he had left the Mirror to fix.
“Empty Soul!” He fired off his magic at the monster in the sky, and hoped that it was enough to do something.

To Daedalus, that was encouraging. Yes, it was angry; yes, it had turned its eyes on them. Yes, this was now a fight where both sides were actively engaged. But that just meant that it was working.
They were persevering, cracking its armor, bringing it down, piece by piece. And though the shield protecting them was coming apart, Daedalus hoped it might hold for just a little while longer.
He wished he could get to where the group maintaining it stood, to offer his expertise or his energy, whichever would best suffice—but no.
The best he could do was keep fighting, even as lightning struck and their foe clawed at the very fabric of the between-worlds they stood in.
So he fired off his magic, again. And he believed.

Cadet Lysanna Location: F5 Action: Vouching for Hugbell to Vyn and Cypher Total: n/a HP: 12hp (or 32hp. Hugbell shielded the square after I posted and shielded for 20 so I don't know if I get that hp back)
Lysanna's gaze tracked over that of Corporal Cypher and Commander Vyn. Her appearance could have been described as not befitting the appearance of a member of the Vanguard but the others would understand. Lyndin would understand. It had been a rough go of trying to get here and the purple-hue of her skin flushed for but a moment before she registered the fact that Vyn was aiming his weapon at Hugbell. At his inquiry of whether or not she could vouch for the Senshi of Comfort she gave her comrade a searching look before realizing that the Commander was serious. Stepping in front of Hugbell so that Vyn would have no option but to shoot her first did Lysanna begin to speak.
"I can definitely vouch for Hugbell. She has been aiding me in trying to get back to everyone else. I'd appreciate it if you didn't shoot her."
She staggered then before straightening, "If there isn't any compunction I'd like to allow her to accompany us to the rest of the group. I don't feel it would be right to leave her to her own devices since she gave me aid."
Heliodor, Corrupt Eternal Senshi of Ryuuto Meta Posting Log Location: A4 Action: Eating berry, tapping into connection with CH, attacking CH and aiming for where the spike was in its tail. Total: 9 (roll) + 10 (rank) = 19 HP: 110 - 38 (CH dmg) + 15 (Almadel Berry) - 14 (shield fail with a 4 roll) = 73
If the creature wasn't interested in them before, it certainly seemed like that table had been turned. The massive head finally appeared and it looked down at them. It's attack also rocked through the field, causing Heliodor to take a step back as he refound his balance. That one has hurt more than the last. Talking precaution, he reached into his fulu to pull out the berry Almadel has gifted then and popped it into his mouth. A sweetness flooded his rather as he felt some of the still hurt face away.
Interesting.
If they weren't in a battle for their lives, Helio might have wondered what it was he’d just eaten and if there was a way to cultivate it. Instead though his mind dropped back to that odd connection he and the Calamitous Hollow had.
Poking into that connection brought with it a burst of pain in his skull. He grimaced for it, brows pinching right as he tried to navigate what he was getting. It was all so jumbled to him. Like there was just too much happening far too quickly for him to process. It made it impossible for him to try and decipher intentions so they could better prepare for attacks.
And this time, he was able to gather some information that could be quite useful. There were points of achiness or mild pain that stood out to him in the connection. It took a few moments for him to decipher the locations but as soon as he did..
“It's tail! Where the spike was.“ He gasped out to the TEAM. “And…there's some missing scales and soreness by it’s right arm. Try aiming in those two places. They could be weak points!”
It took him a few moments to mentally step away from that connection with the Calamitous Hollow, but the sharp stabbing pain receded as he did so. Perhaps reaching into that connection wasn't the smartest anymore with how it radiated in his head, but how could he stop if it could be a tool?
A few breaths to stay himself and Helio attacked again from afar with his magic, aiming for that spot on the tail where the 6th spike had just dislodged itself from.

Commodore Lyndin Location: F3 Action: Accepting all offered energy; allowing Vanguardians to offer their own. Sticking his hand into the machine and donating energy while trying to forcibly control the energy discharge. All characters in F3 can donate 10HP for +1 defense to the shield. Characters cannot reach 0HP while donating energy so players must roll their 2d10 to determine how much damage they are taking before they can decide how much HP to allocate. Total: 3 + Rank Modifier (15) = 18 HP: ??? [-35, +13 last round] [-38, +29 this round; -180 for +18 shield] [Lyndin is below 1/3 of his health]
Though Lyndin didn’t say as much, considering the way he made time to continuously glance up to see if Vyn and Cypher had returned with Lysanna, it was probably clear that he was worried about them.
Vyn was very capable, that wasn’t the issue. He wasn't sure where Andronicus was. Or who else was out there.
He was stuck here, wrestling with a failing shield. If he left, it was useless.
He debated for a second only and then relented.
“Yes. If you want to give your energy, I will not stop you. I will do everything in my power to keep this shield running. But do not give more than you can afford to lose.”
Aliez had asked him earlier to trust them to help beyond just watching his back, and if this was where they thought they were most useful, he trusted that decision.
He would not deny aid if they were certain it was the best option.
The machine had started to spark, and bright, blue. It was emitting its own little bolts of lightning.
Lyndin leaned forward and stuck his hand into the core of it. His eyes were glowing, a bright, blazing blue and pure, raw power radiated from him.
With one hand, he continued to make modifications. With the other, he seemed to be trying to forcibly wrangle the machine into compliance by will power alone.
Lightning struck above him but fizzled, as if weakened and repelled before it could reach him or the machine.

It lifted Caelyna’s heart, to still have people staying and donating their energy. The state of things was, certainly, getting more dire; the monster had clearly realized that the people beneath it were a true threat, and not simply something to be ignored or annoyed by.
Again, she took advantage of the strange gravity to jump and strike its underbelly; the scales there were harder, but at least it let her return to the protection of Aliez’s shield quickly.
When she landed, her eyes were drawn to Lyndin, to his hand in the machine.
She remembered Lyndin glowing like that before, on the hill, when he was protecting all of them from the dangerous fallout of Caedus’s volatile starseed. Now, again, he had clearly reached into his personal power stores to keep the shield as stable as it could get.
How could Caelyna justify giving any less than all she could?
Wordlessly, she drew some of her own energy, and passed the stone to the Commodore. A small sacrifice, to continue to hold the line.

It was hard to tell whether they were making much of a difference. The damned snake was still kicking, and kicking pretty hard if its movements were any indication. From where he was standing, it looked like they'd done it a favor by scratching some unreachable itch on its belly, and now that it was satisfied it was finally rearing its ugly head at them, finally ready to pay them back. And not in a good way. The man inwardly cursed, fighting down the panic as he watched its talons literally tear up the sky, and the lightning that it brought with it rip into the ********," he muttered aloud as he glanced back the way he came, at the Vanguard still huddled there and doing what they could to give energy to the shield, as well as those who went to donate before throwing themselves back into the fray. Gritting his teeth for barely a second, he hesitated on what he could do next…until black lightning flashed just beside him sent him running. Back, toward the Vanguard. They needed the shield as much as they needed all hands on deck, attacking.
And if he could do both?
"Hey, I'm heading back!" he called over at Andronicus as he pointed up at the shield. "They might need more!"
Though he didn't wait for a response. Instead he turned to run, reaching for the earring as he went. Only one thing was on his mind as soon as his fingers touched the cool metal–Danika.
'Hey,' he started, brows furrowing with the small bit of effort to keep the worry and panic out of his thoughts. How successful he was, he had no idea. He wasn't even sure how much she'd seen or heard, if they'd hit the time limit or if the connection just didn't reach this far. 'Mabe random, maybe morbid, but saying it now before I regret not saying it.'
He leapt into the air then, the thought crossing his mind just as he aimed another swing at the thing as soon as the creature was again within reach. 'I love you.'
Ashur landed just mere feet from his destination, a shot of lightning immediately following after him, as though taking revenge for its master. He clenched his jaws, biting back the pain that surged through him when it hit. He was shaky on his feet, but he quickly closed the remaining gap between him and the Vanguard. "Hey," he said as he approached the closest one (Daesva), popping the berry from the pouch into his mouth. In case it helped, somehow, now felt like the time to use it. "If you guys still need it, I've got some energy to spare."
"Alright," Emain Ablach began, looking at the lightning striking around them and warily eyeing the agent that had entered their area (Wolframite). He shifted his shield, bracing it against his arm and lifting it overhead. "I have this, and it should give us some protection against that beast. Just... don't wander too far away." As he made sure he could sustain the position he'd taken, he gave the pin he was wearing a tap.
