Setting Out Into the World

The dawn was breaking over the glittering sands of Eowyn and a big Diabi male came crawling out of a hole in the ground, looking from side to side in a suspicious manner before he moved a large rock in the way of the hold. After the rock 'door' had been closed he set to kicking up some sand to better hide the fact that he had been there before walking away. Today was the day! He was old enough, considered a true Drakein, and he meant to go forth and begin work on the most important task that any Drakein worth his salt would complete, that being the task of gathering the glittering orbs of the various dragons of the world. It would be a difficult journey but it was one that he was eager to begin. He wanted those orbs, wanted to use the power they contained for himself, and he would become something amazing! He'd only seen a couple of Drakeinian in his life and only from a distance, never had he been able to really chat with one of them, but he would put his all into making sure that he was able to join their ranks.

The big Diabi stretched out, wings opening up wide, tail lashing, before he let folded his wings back into place once more, trotted forward to where he could smell the members of his adopted family at. He knew that he was the odd man out in the group but they had always been welcoming enough to him never the less, likely because the big Gaili female in charge of his particular group was his 'mother' and nobody really had the guts to piss her off. The few times anything had she'd stomped them flat, something that made Eyphah rather pleased to have her as his mother, she was powerful and someone that he wanted to emulate, "Good morning, Mother." He greeted the big female, moving to sit down next to her, watching her as she went about scolding some of the hatchlings for wandering too far fro the group, something that caused them to come scurrying back over so as not to get into anymore trouble. Now that was a tone he knew well, how often had he been scolded when he was younger? He was a terror, not to mention always seemed to think that he could take care of himself, even though he tended to get his backside handed to him by the various creatures he'd tried to hunt when he was a Keinling.

"You should give them some slack, they aren't nearly as bad as I was at that age." He commented to his Gaili mother, something that earned him a look from her, "What? It's true and you know it." No matter how much she tried to spoil him he wasn't oblivious as to how he'd been when he was little, that being a hissing little monster. It was the result of having hatched all alone in Eowyn, his egg left there for reasons unknown, and he'd been left to take care of himself due to this strange occurrence. He was lucky though, something he wouldn't admit to out loud, as his mother had appeared to him when he was at his weakest. She took him in, treated him as though he was her own, and raised him even despite him being Diabi which wasn't the most well loved or nicest of the Drakein races. No matter, for some strange reason she seemed to think well of him despite how he could be, something he rather liked though he kept that to himself.

He watched the Keinling as they ran circles around the two bigger Drakein, giving a toothy smile as they did so, before he turned his attention to his mother once more, "Today is the day." He told her, giving her a nod, "I am going to be heading out to start hunting for dragon orbs, I was thinking it would be amusing for me to start my journey in Serenia." He told her, chuckling over the idea of something as dark and 'evil' as him going to that place where those brightly colored, walking rainbows known as Orderites resided. He'd heard from other Drakein in their group that it was where a good amount of Ysali could be found, something that he was eager for. He was told that Ysali were the best dragons to start out with, a decent challenge but not impossible to win out against. It seemed like as good a place to start as any, "I will probably still return home from time to time to visit though, it's not like I am abandoning the place or anything." He added quickly, turning to look over at his mother.

The Gaili turned to look at him, starring at him, her gaze steady before she gave him a gentle sort of smile, lifting one clawed hand to pat him on the shoulder, "You will do well." She murmured, knowing full well that if anyone could take on a dragon or two it would be her darkly colored son. He had always been fearless after all, she had seen him, even a little Keinling, go charging after creatures far too big for him to handle in his attempts to become a hunter sooner then later. His impulsiveness had gotten him many scars but she was always there to help him out when he needed it, to lick his wounds, and make sure that he rested when he needed it, "If you are going to Serenia I suggest you be careful, given you are Diabi and Diabi are normally found Souldul you never know what they might think if they see you. Just stay away from them, focus on your hunts, and visit often, alright?" She told him, giving him more advice, as she always did when it came to her young, no matter their age. Her children were always going to be her children after all, even if they were as big as Eyphah.

"Don't forget to say goodbye to everyone else before you go, the little ones especially, you know that they love you." She said, something that had Eyphah shifting in a manner that said he was embarrassed over the idea of being loved by a mass of Keinling. He'd never admit that he liked them too, not wanting to appear as being weak or anything.

"Yeah, yeah, I will be sure to do that Mother." He said, giving her a nod before he pushed to hsi feet, "I will go around, make sure I tell everyone in the tribe that I am heading out. I will come back to you once I am done and let you know that I am heading out." He told her, stretching out again before he turned to head toward where other members of the Gaili tribe were located, knowing that it might take a bit to say his goodbyes to all of those in the tribe. There were a lot of them, the family being a big one, but once he was done he would head for Serenia to go after the Ysali. He was sure the Keinling would be quite excited when he returned, wanting to hear all about his journey and what adventures he'd gotten himself into, and he'd be only too happy to tell them... though he wouldn't let anyone, save for maybe the Keinling themselves, know that secret.

A Meeting of Minds

Eyphah happens across a Firani Drakein between Ysali hunts. He isn't the sort that the Diabi would normally hang out with, far too sedate and slow going for his tastes, but still he has some interesting ideas... interesting enough to make the battle hungry Eyphah stick around a bit at least.

Caravan Raiding

Now this is more like it! Eyphah and the Firani known as D go to raid a two-legs caravan, stealing precious Ayrala orbs away from those who don't even know their true power! Another step in the direction that Eyphah is steadily tromping along!

Tides of War

Seems that a battle of some sort is underway. Eyphah was more then eager to join up with the fray though less because he wants to help and more because he hopes for a chance to get some fresh carrion to take home with him as well as some treasure! If he's lucky he will get one or both by the end of the day.

Preparations For Departure

The battle against the strange, abomination known as Beta had only gotten Eyphah all riled up instead of putting the Diabi in a good mood. Sure, the treasure that he was able to find in that place was amazing, both items those that came from the Diabi Clan, but the problem was that Beta had escaped. There was nothing that he hated more then when those he was hunting got away and he found himself unable to chase that creature down to finish them off. He'd searched but he hadn't seen her anywhere no matter how much he searched the caves and the area around them. Bah, how he hated to lose... but in the long run maybe it was for the best. If they had defeated her it would have been a victory that he'd be stuck sharing with the various others that had been around him at the time. He wouldn't share his victories with a bunch of two-legs, damn it! He was sure that there might be a few of them out there that were that bad but those in the cave, he didn't know them therefore he didn't want to share with them. The only one there he might have shared with was Kioda, he didn't mind her all that much after all.

Once his search for Beta was ended, for the time being at least, the big dragon headed out to drop his treasures out in his hidden horde where they would be safe. All of the orbs he'd gathered so far were kept in the place, a beautiful bunch of orbs, and he was never happier with them... but as beautiful as they were there just weren't enough of them, were there? He was pleased to get a Diabi Orb to add to his collection, pleased with the way the dark orb looked amongst the rest, but it just reminded him that if he wanted to become something grand, to become a beautiful and powerful Drakein, then he was going to need more of them. Laying down before he he starred at them, reaching out to tap one of his scythe like claws against the surface of one of the glittering orbs, "I will get enough of you soon enough and become something great." He announced to the orbs, as though they should prepare themselves for what was coming. Their power would become his power one day... but not until he had enough of them... damn it but that was the problem, wasn't it? He was wasting time laying around when he should be out there hunting! He couldn't be some weakling, couldn't hide in his horde, couldn't waste his time here. It was time to go again.

Pushing up to his feet he gave his orbs a last look, "Wait for me, I will be back soon enough." He told them, starring a moment more before he left his hidey hole, shoving the big rock back in front of it, and then kicked up the sand so that it would cover the fact that anyone had been around this area. He didn't want any stupid, treasure hunting two-legs coming here to mess with what was his after all. Best that it just looked like just another rock laying around in the desert sands of Eowyn. The most they tended to do was sit on it to avoid sitting on and sinking in the sand. That he would allow... though if anyone started to mess around with his rock he would be forced to end them! It was his rock and while he was being kind enough to allow people to sit on it he wasn't going to allow them to toy with what wasn't theirs. Still, it had been fine to this point so maybe he was just worrying overly? Besides the two-legs seemed buy with their three way war, why would they go digging around the rocks when they should be killing one another for his eating pleasure he had to ask.

Reassured he left his treasure trove behind, taking to the air, and moved to find where the Gaili Drakein herd that he stayed with was located at the moment. He would check on them, see how they were doing with the current war that was going on, speak with his mother for a time, and then he'd be on his way. He wanted her to know where he was going though, just in case she needed him she would be able to send word in the form of any of the other members of their group. They tended to take care of things on their own but when they got messy he was the first one they called upon, he was dangerous looking after all, more so then any of the Gaili that was. Likely due to his claws he thought to himself, not that he minded in the least bit that they used his looks to intimidated others. He knew what he looked like, scary, powerful, and beautiful, and he didn't mind using that to aid his tribe. His wandering thoughts seemed to scatter to the winds when he spotted his tribe, smiling a bit he flew down to meet them, eager to catch up with them before he left for Serenia once more.
