He'd lost in his first venture to hunt a Ysali but he wasn't really all that worried about it. It wasn't as though the Diabi was expecting absolute victory no matter what. He'd been made quite happy when he was able to find a place where they seemed to be pretty prolific. So long as there was a forest they were about he'd been told, he might have to stay in the area for a while, then he could go and hunt down some of those glittering beasts and tear their orbs from their chests. This one he hadn't downed, meaning he would need to go after it again, but at least he'd marked it. The creature's flank had thick claw marks upon, so that Eyphah would know it at first glance, and could continue to hunt it. It was a habit that was somewhere between obsession and determined, the desire to finish what he'd started. The Ysali thought itself lucky because it had gotten away from the Diabi but next time perhaps it wouldn't be so lucky. He'd keep after that one until he got it he thought to himself.
Lifting up his forefoot the Diabi Drakein set to licking the fresh blood off of his claws, giving a bit of a grin as he did so, "Mmmm, I would eat all of those creatures if it wasn't for the fact that they crumble the way they do." He said, smirking a bit. He'd seen others, such as his adoptive mother, kill them in the passed and the cowards just seemed to fall apart, leaving behind bones and an orb. Such a shame, their blood alone was a sweet and delicious delacay, one that he wished he could have more of. No matter, he'd just have to enjoy what tastes he got when in midbattle was all. While he would never feast on dragon meat at least he would enjoy the little teasing tastes of them from time to time. The Ysali wasn't too bad, it made him wonder what the others might taste like, he supposed that he would figure it out soon enough. He was meaning to to fight them all after all, his claws itching to gather a trove of orbs.
For now though, since the thing he'd attacked had run off there was only one thing left to do, that was to give chase, and continue to chase it until he was able to catch it, "Perhaps I should take it slowly, that way I can get a better taste of the dragon next time." He said, his long, barbed tail lashing from side to side in pure delight, as though just the thought of another fight and another taste was more then enough to perk him up greatly. The loss might bother another Drakein but it didn't really bother him at all, it just drove him to try harder. He wasn't some weakling after all, he wasn't going to run home to his mother just because he'd lost one battle. It would happen more then wins would until he got better at his hunting and killing. Once he perfected it he would become the best of the Drakein.
