Adventurous - Rista loves to see whats just beyond that bend, over that hill, the underside of that mountain, no one can guess what one can't see so she wants to see it all. Her parents kept her close to home when they were alive, it was the one thing she had always resented. So wherever she is be it a home, the orphanage or a whole meadow, Rista will find the most wonderful and interesting hiding places. She wants to see the other lands very badly indeed. Except the place over the sea called Belrea, she doesn't trust the flying ships she has heard about all that much.

Provokable - So you wanna go huh? Well bring it on! With nothing to loose she has become a bit of a brawler, if your a polite person you have nothing to worry about but if your a rude one well hope you like your hair pulled and your face rearranged. She also doesn't give warning when she will strike she just does it. Her temper is a hallmark she got from her Mother's family. Her Father had been very calm.

Ruthless - When it comes to mercy to others not in her circle of chosen people, Rista has none, the world never gave her any so she would give none to others in return, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger after all, and more cynical. It also means that in a battle she will never pull her punches.

Sneaky - Not all revenge has to come from the front and center, Rista is capable of subterfuge, spying and eavesdropping on her enemies. She could be listening to you right now with her penchant for good hiding places.

Loyal - To the very few who eventually earn her respect and yes love, she is a very loyal person and will dive to the pits of the world to rescue you from whichever mess you have gotten in. Usually though to earn this you have to save her life in a similar way; emotionally, spiritually or physically.

Haughty - Being high born has made its mark on her, and she is old enough to remember how she used to be adored. Her Father told her never to show her weakness to the world so instead she looks down her nose. It comes in handy for when she is spoiling for a fight.

Child History: Rista was the only child born to a noble family in Zena, they were high up on the totem pole as her Father had been the son of one of the elders on the council. A favored elder at that. As such she had been somewhat spoiled from the very beginning, but the love and guidance of her parents kept her grounded in a world just waiting to turn her into someone they would rather not be responsible for.

One of them was always around no matter what. Mother and Father doting on their daughter diligently; teaching her right from wrong, about the world around her and the tales of the gods. They taught her how to think for herself how to control and manipulate a situation she was in to her benefit or safety.

She was beginning to think she was invincible, everything was going perfectly in her life, she had friends, a good teacher and the most wonderful parents, until the fateful day that her parents went out into that blizzard and Zena took back what she had given to Rista. Everything she had given to Rista. Without her parents there was no one to save her from lonliness. Her grandfather was so grief stricken by the loss of his son that looking at Rista made him sick to his stomach. She was a stark reminder of the child he would never have again. He blames Rista for the loss of his son, by the virtue of if she didn't exist his son would still be alive, because he wouldn't have been out in the snow that day on a date with his life to try and rekindle the old romance. He loved his son dearly and the poison of his loss has turned his back on his own kin. He is the only surviving grandparent, and Rista was crushed by the abandonment by a blood relative. Her grandfather had few years left having had his son late in life. He had lost his wife, his son and everyone else and his granddaughter is a reminder of what he will never again have. He preferred boys and had Rista been a male it may well have been a different story.

Her maternal grandparents had perished after a particularly virile wave of flu had taken out those with less than perfect immune systems in a particularly damp spring in Zena. Their loss was part of the reason that her mother and father leaned on each other more and eventually fell in love. You lean hard on your friends in difficult times and they learned that they had the perfect gift right in front of them; each other.

It was one of the few days that her parents had left her to herself, it had been a date night she expected they wanted to work on their relationship with each other after the chaos of having a youngling, now that Rista was a little older they felt confident enough to take some time for themselves. Had they not been caught out in that storm, that freak storm which confused them, made them loose their way from the long walk they had gone on, they would have been fine and still with her.

Was it her fault they had never returned? If she had never have been would they have never gone on that walk? Why was fate so cruel to leave her alone? She had had everything; prestige, love, fans. Now she had nothing...an orphan abandoned by the last of her family to the ravages of public care. She resented the orphanage so very much, and that others the neighbors who had found her and took her in temporarily when her parents were found, had not been able to keep her because they had too many children to feed already. Not even that solace had been permanant, just a delay in absolute solitude.

Rista Class Choice Solo 1561
Rista finally had a day off from chores, for good behaviour, her sister and father were managing everything for her today so that she could take time for herself to explore what Matori had to offer for an undecided apprentice, she didn't really have an idea yet for what she wanted to be. There were just so many choices, she strolled around Matori, following stone paths, bordered by flowers, the cheep cheep of birds seranading her as she went. She stroked the petals of some of her favorite flowers, and when no one was looking she put her face in amonst them and inhaled blissfully.

"Rista!." A voice called, Rista snapped her head away from the flowers, blushing at being caught until she saw who it was who called out to her.

Dem'al waved as she walked closer on her dark brown snaptrotter, Ralmeo.

"Finally got out of chores, huh? Me too." The water girl swung down and hugged her friend, "Lets go shopping."

"Well if you insist," Rista loved shopping, she loved clothes, jewellery and looking good.

This was a good time to shop too as all the spring stuff was out. They headed for the market with all the enthusiasm of young girls.Dem'al pulled her up on the snaptrotter and they made good time riding double into town.

Rista envied her Matorian friends ability to handle all of the sun in Matori.
Rista had been here a long time it was home but it was still hot sometimes, it prevented her from wearing some of the more traditional Zenan dresses, that her father had bought her every year for her birthday. He was such a sweetie.

The girls browsed the stalls fingering the quality of fabrics, trying on the stuff they liked and purchasing one or two things to be wrapped up and carted home.

They had just about made it too when an arrow sailed across the road to be lost in the bushes. Infuriated, Rista made her friend stop so that she could get of and wait for the clueless fool who could have injured them all by accident.

Someone did walk out of the scrub, a cute someone. "You should be more careful, you almost hit us with that!"

The males paused and looked that them, he looked like a Matori/Leaf hybrid with large flat pink crystals and matori skin.

"I'm sorry, I didn't realize there was a road here, I'm visiting my cousins property,"

"Yes well they should put up a sign, no shooting sharp proectiles this direction." She was yelling, she realized that, but she was angry. He could have seriously hurt them, her sister would have kicked his butt!

"Would you like to come to train to make up for it?" He asked offering the bow.

"No harm was done Rista," Dem'al wheedled."Lets go see what they have." Rista looked at Dem'al and the hybrid, she knew what her sister would do, but she was not her sister.

Yeah Okay, we will go but don't mention this to my family or Ill probably be in big trouble. Dem'al easily agreed and they turned the big snapptrotter off the road. They entered a clearing with many youngish fighters, trying their hands at weapons training. There were bows axes, daggers and swords. Ristadis looked on with mild disdain, she was still unsure of her path, she tried to decide between witchdoctor or ranger. The bow attracted her because of the precision and finesse, required to operate it properly. And in large wars archers were a strategic neccessity.Winnow down the ranks before the enemy even gets close, yet as a witch doctor you healed people with natural healing thus being more helpful over all.

Her sister flicked between beast charmer and witch doctor, but so far had not settled on any class in particular.

She just wasn't sure, it bothered her that she didn't know, ultimately it was that that had convinced her to get off the snaptrotter, she walked purposefully over and collected a black bow with blue beading. Raising it she took careful aim at the target, the bow was hard to bend which would make her aim more true, on her next exhale she loosed the arrow.

It hit the second ring from the center, that was not bad, it certainly beat some of the other arrows also embedded in the target. That was not the point though, how did she feel? That was the point, was there a peice that was missing that now fit? She was sad kinda that no this did not feel right, her eyes landed on the sword, perhaps....

She delicately touched the hilt, traditionally a man's weapon, the single longsword, a huge symbol of power and grace, a longsword weielded by a woman, what kind of statement would that make? That she was not to be messed with that's what.

She smiled slightly, her special smile that made others run, slowly her hands wrapped around the hilt, the cool metal felt like it was branding her skin.

This, this felt right, maybe a bit ungainly but right. For all its ungodly size the sword was well balanced, swordplay required you to be quick, stealthy and to act on he advantage of surprise, yes this was all to the good. She hefted it and it didn't take long for one of the strapping young men to come over and tap her on the shoulder.

"Let's see what you got!"

Ahah finally a worthy opponent, she flicked into a fighting stance, she paused mystified however, when the leaf hybrid stepped up to correct her stance.

"Why do this, why help? I don't need your help." She bit out before her better sense could stop her, she had never used a sword before, she bloody did need his help. But as usual her sharp tongue had got her deeper into crap than normal.

"Think of it as compensation for almost shooting you earlier, my mother is a sentinel, use his weight against him, oh he also has a bad knee, the left I believe. "

She stared at him, fake rage in her eyes. The haughtiness however that was not fake. Her eyes burned into him. He winked and backed away.

Well well perhaps he was worthy of her, something to consider, not that she was quite old enough for that sort of thing. But when she looked in the mirror now she saw a sweet prentice, so she could start plotting her future husband as young girls did.

She would allow herself that luxury.

They would have three kids, two boys and a girl, the girl would look just like him. She chuckled at her own silliness.

But at least it lightened her heart to find that there were strong men out there not frightened by the wisp of her fangs.

She grinned fiercely at the Oban teen before she charged him, he danced away from her and made a sortie of his own, which she crouched, blocked and leapt away.

Her heart thumped loudly and her body was strung with intensity, she had never felt so alive.

The swords were trainers, but they would bruise if they struck her. Her arms were heavy but rose to the occasion as adrenaline poured through her system.

There was a lot of yelling and grunting as their swords clashed and a down pour started. A serious rain it soaked them both and quickly made their battleground a muddy heap. Everything was slipper and by luck his sword slipped. She marked him at the base of this neck, then she smiled and offered her hand.

"What do you think do I have potential?" She asked sweetly as she helped him up. He snorted and took her hand, I think the sword suites you Ive only seen my teacher move like that.Rista smiled broader and moved to the sidelines to catch her breath, Dem'al found her there.

"I thought you wanted to practice the bow,"

"Well plans change,"

"Evidentley" her friend said.

Rista poked her hard.

"Ow!"

"You were doing that thing again." She admonished.

"Okay, sorry."

"We should go before our parents come to look for us.Only to find us here of all places." Rista said.

"Um Rista you ruined your dress you might want to take the tunic I bought and change into it before we get home, I'll just get it back from you later."

Dem'al giggled at her dishevelment, Rista was never disheveled but for once in her life she had given everything she had to the fight, her dress was indeed ripped and muddy. She was going to be so sore tomorrow, Dem'al covered her up and helped her get on the snapptrotter, the hybrid and the oban boy she had fought with both watched them leave, she wondered what they were thinking behind those mysterious eyes of theirs.

Well she had learned a great deal about herself today and she hoped her parents would be proud, she knew that Isolder and Nin would be. Well not the part about her going off the trail, but the swordplay part. She was so tired when she got home that she had nodded off and was sleeping on Dem'al's back.

Dem tucked her into bed and Rista slept briefly and woke to a few bruises she had not remembered getting.

Class Quest
Ris fidgeted nervously. Today was going to be the final test for her before she truly earned her blades. The pressure had been getting to her over the last couple of days despite her big sister’s reassurances. Nin was always so calm and so strong there had been bo doubts about her acheiving her goals. Rista suited up and headed for the training grounds for the assignment that would either make her or break her. When it was her turn her instructor handed her a piece of paper, on it were instructions on how to find her target, a notorious market theif. He was reputed to be pretty decent woth weapons and so he was selected to be her test. She was to find and engage in swordplay with him and try to win if she could. Capture was a bonus but bot as important as the battle itself because for once it would be real. Rista swallowed hard but nodded, she would see her duty through.

She went to stake out the market place. Except for the very real danger factor this was going to be fun, she loved peoplewatching.
It was a busy day at market with many people rushing around to get their shopping done before the heat got to be too much. She was about an hour into waiting when she caught sight of her hybrid target. He was sniffing around a jewel encrusted old Matori tribe lady. Rista started her calculated stalking of the man. She used all the skills she had gained growing up. She had been rather adept at hiding and had always been on the sneaky side, usually scaring her father and sister as they went about their chores.

She trailed her target closely for a long time, getting used to his movements and rather enjoying herself. She waited patiently for him to try something to give her a reason to spring the trap. The matori target was covered in opulence and seemingly more concerned with adding to her adornment then protecting her purse. As the fire/water hybrid dipped his hands into the womans satchel, Rista laid a blade to his throat. She could have taken his head had she wanted to but that was not part of the exercise. His eyes, a brilliant red, slid over to her, his gaze as intense as any she had seen. Her heart quickened and her mouth quirked up. He was kinda cute. She was pretty sure she was not supposed to notice that about the scallywag. She nodded at the bag and the male retracted his hands. His skin was a deep chocolate, with the charicteristic matorian speckles, his hair was a rich deep blue, upon his forarms were rhombus shaped crystals, yellow in color. The woman remained oblivious, but she was starting to get strange looks so she guided her prisoner quickly over to the practice ring. "Unfinished business, she murmured to merchants who looked like they may or may not interfere. If they knew the man was a thief it would get in the way of her mission.

"Tell you what, if you win, I'll let you go. If not I'm bringing you in."

The male shrugged an affirmative. "About the best offer I''m going to get I reckon." He had a deep voice. Pity he was below the law.

Rista would have to adjust her fighting style as this one was a knife wielder. She couldn't help but admire his blade though when she brought it out, it was a large dagger with a heavy blade, finely and obviously custom made it had a tuft of fur on the edge. Intriguing to say the least.

The fight started with a bang as her blade crossed his, it seemed he had another smaller blade strapped to leg, she saw the bulge that was too wide to be muscle on his calf. Hopefully she could prevent him from drawing it. She thrust forward, jabbing and keeping him on the offensive, she was impressed to find that he was rather light on his feet, it made sense for a fellow of his profession but it was as if he danced on the air itself. She would tire faster with larger weapons so she had to use their length to her advantage and keep him moving more than her as she could.

It was a long match as they were pretty even, in the end though his superior strength and endurance won out and she was pounded into the ground. Clayvor was a gentleman at heart though and he did not kill her. What he did do, was knock her out when she tripped for the final time. She was brought too with smelling salts by her grim faced instructor who rushed her to medical. Clayvor had stayed until he saw someone who was obviously associated with her before melting into the crowd. She had fought very well but he was on his best game. He had not seen the last of her. He grinned.

Rista snarled when she awoke. "Where is he?" She had not seen the last of him.
"Never mind that now, from the looks of you, you put up a good enough fight. This contest was about determination not actually winning and you passed with flying colors, you believed in yourself at the moment when most would have given up and that shows your valor. Strength can be gained, morals are harder."
