He shuddered. There was a lot of something in the air, something laced with magic, it tingled all over his skin. He worked outside he couldn't avoid all of this dust. Animals had to be tamed and fed and looked after. He sighed, most exuberant those two trees. He admired their zest for life but this was perhaps a bit excessive. He sneezed. Ugh.
"Rista! Its only thicker than it was, I don't think its leaving but it feels..like it might have magic?"
He was only mildly magical but he was pretty perceptive and that was just enough.
"Are you alright my love?" He asked, sticking his head back in the house.

She rushed to him. "Magic?" She raced over, curious. She was caught in his arms and wriggled, sending them both outside and into another puff of pollen. "Ugh," She had thought it was going to be nice magic not weird tree stuff.
"Babe." She said testily and wriggled until he put her down. "Why tree dust, why not stay inside. It is going to get everywhere."
She wondered where the magic was anyway. Gah, she rolled her eyes. Boring.
"Dinner is almost ready."

Tahnee 1 She heard her parents and looked up from reading under a tree, already more than coated in pollen. Such was the life of a little sun bum. She hated being inside unless it was storming, then it was okay. But only then. She shook her head, and continued to read, they would calm down eventually, her parents could be excitable when it came to knew things. She thought that it was cool that the trees could have hybrids, there would be more new people like Huang'we out there but slightly different again. Variety was the spice of life truly. She smiled. "Izel! Where are you?" She called to her Brother.

Despite the weather doing whatever it was doing, Izel had gone down to the beach. Though the sun being blocked out made it a dreary affair. So he'd ended up coming back home and finding his way to the hammock that hung between the trees at the side of the house. Once there he fall asleep easily, not too worried about the pollen that seemed to be thick in the air.
It wasn't until he heard his sister calling his name that he woke up, a neat pile of the stuff covering him. "What the..." He pushed it off and looked around to see where his sister was. "Tahnee? I'm over here.." He blinked a few times. "Drowning in dust apparently.."

Well, he was hungry. "Aye, inside it is, I'm sure it doesn't add to the flavour." He loved her cooking and tree dust getting on it would be an absolute shame. She put her heart and soul into her cooking. It added to the high quality ingredients from his parents island farm and bam the best food ever at least in his not so humble opinion.
"Inside kids!" He called cheerfully before heading in himself to dust off in the washroom least he be uninvited at the dinner table. Nope, he was too hungry to wait so he would do it right the first time.
He wrinkled his nose. "I think its the tree dust itself that has the magic, but I can't be sure. Its certainly trying to make me sneeze." He looked at her. "What do you think about it wife?" He asked her, she was very smart and usually she had a decent opinion on most everything. "Help me out here," He caught her around the shoulders and hugged her close. "Excellent, now you must come with me to get the pollen off."

Her mate was always so easily manipulated by his stomach. Though the sparkle dust was definitely a pain.
"Yes I'll come clean up with you, you probably would miss half of it on your own anyway and you need a proper scrubbing." She nodded. She tugged on his ear playfully as if he were in trouble. "Come along then." They washed up and she returned hoping to see the two kids that were around today. "Tahnee? Izel?" She called sticking her head out the door. The food would get cold and it probably wasn't all that great to inhale all that dust anyway. Umen was coated and she had some on her too, half from him.
She put out the hot meal on the table and hoped the scent would lure her little beasties back inside, though they were getting big she must say. "Come on kids!"

Tahnee 2 "Come my brother, or they will not stop nagging us. Besides I think I am allergic to this pollen," she waved a hand in front of her face like that was going to help anything. The stuff was all over and everywhere. Ugh. She too was hungry, it had been a busy morning and she had been bad and skipped breakfast, she was always eager to go walk the lower tide line and see what the ocean had given her in the night, you had to go out early or all the old grannies who couldn't sleep in got everything good that there was. Darn grannies. She also liked to paint out there too so it was win win if she found a shell and a good view. "I must say that hammock of yours looks awful comfy," too bad about the dust maybe it would leave soon and she could come out here and read.

He heard the call of both parents and was starting to get up when Tahnee decided to add in her own 'come along.' He paused to look at her, a brow raised. "Yes mother." He replied sarcastically to her before laughing. "You can get your own hammock. I like mine." Izel could always make one for her. It wasn't that hard.
Finally up her shook his head so that his shaggy hair would be rid of the majority of the dust that had settled in it. "Yeah, not that hard to be sneeze over some dust. Or whatever it is." Izel sniffles and wrinkled his nose. "Better not make me sick."

He bathed so as to be a good role model for the kidlets. That and the dust was a bit itchy he must say. Quite itchy actaully and the water didn't quite fix it, oh well. He took a scrubby and went to town on his skin, not yet noticing the blue flakes falling off with each pass of the exfoliator.
There was something so pleasant about a hot shower. His muscles relaxed and he sighed deeply in bliss. His life was charmed. He got out of the shower and towelled off, he had been careful not to use too much of the hot water and refilled the cannister for his wife.
"Your turn Rista!" He called cheerfully. As much as he would like to join her the kids might notice the giggling. He did smile at the thought though. "Want me to do your hair?" He waggled his eyebrows at her, knowing he was probably going to get a bit of a smack.

She gave her exuberant mate a flat look and then continued into the washing area. The pollen had made her feel funny. She tilted her head at the strange blue dust in the shower wondering if Umen had used a different soap or something that had the dust in it. But it appeared to be the same homemade stuff as always. She squinted then shrugged. He had likely gotten into something, it was Umen after all, intrepid was his middle name.
She bathed and immediately felt refreshed. She smiled when she remembered wearing a few more traditional zenan clothes before when she was younger and less wise. Her outfits now were cotton and breezy. She still loved fashion and was looking forward to an annual shopping trip where she could adventure and spend some of her hard earned money.
Now though it was simply time to eat and she better go make sure the kids washed as well. Darn pollen everywhere. Most inconsiderate of that tree.

Tahnee 3 She sneered at her brother. She was all officious artist until he pressed the button and then she was most savage sister. She inhaled to start a tirade but her stomach grumbled crankily and forstalled her so she shook her head and raced ahead for shower and food as she was now covered (just as much as her Dad had been) in the icky tree pollens. She didn't mind being dirty so long as it was a temporary state. Besides she was pretty sure the dust would not taste well as a food topping and that mother would freak out if either of them tried. She would let Izel, sail that ship himself however. She would be clean and presentable for the food her mother had made for them. Or dad, he sometimes cooked and it wasn't too bad. "Coming!" She called brightly and rushed to the bathing area once she was inside.

Izel 3 Having his sister sneer at him was nothing new. Izel was the lazy one of the family so it tended to happen a bit when he didn't move as fast as the others or seem as motivated to do things the others liked. Izel had just gotten used to the whole thing. As Tahnee moved along to get washed up he took his time to get inside, doing another head shake before entering to get more dust off of him. Once inside he looked over at his dad. Izel tilted his head a bit as he stared at the man but eventually pointed behind himself with his thumb. "What's up with the extreme pollen? Someone plant a flower garden nearby?" Izel wrinkled up his nose as he felt another sneeze coming.

"Well we think it might be the aishan trees that just matured, it might be the plant equivalent of a celebratory pollen rave. One never knows but it smells magical so best to get as much of it off your skin as possible." He had finally looked down at his arm and was staring at it for a moment, it didn't look like his arm anymore.
He frowned, opened his mouth to say something and then tilted his head. "Yes definitely magical." This wasn't good. He looked up at Izel and was about to talk again when Rista came in from the bathroom. He looked up at her and was unable to say anything.
This was just too strange and he couldn't compute it at the moment. One's skin didn't just ...change.

She walked into the dining area, squinted at her son who was covered in the pollen, then her gaze fell upon her mate.. who no longer looked like her mate.
She yelled and went to him, touching the new skin, the different crystals, his hair too...."YOUR EYES AS WELL?" She hissed. Everything on Umen looked different. "Ahhhh, this cant be happening!" She hissed and spat. It was too much, looking down suspiciously she noticed her crystals were a different color. She felt dizzy then and had to sit down, dragging Umen with her so she could look at the changes on him.
What could they even do about something like this. "Darn TREES." At least on her it was just her crystals her head snapped around to look at Izel. "And you?"
