Eden is one of two known pink Raevans, and she does not disappoint. Her long, wavy hair is a bright shade of bubblegum pink with a set of matching bold brows and a plump pout. A pair of bright green doe-eyes and delicately pointed ears complete the picture of a fairy brought to life. She resembles a human girl in her late teens, perhaps 18 or 19, and her since growing to sigel has gained a soft hourglass shape that evokes memories of the nymph that gave her soul. Eden can always be found wearing some arrangement of flowers in various places, but she always wears a flower of some type and size in her hair as well as blossoms sprinkled along her pink ribbon. The darker undertones of her essence come through in her occasional selection of flowers, more harmful species like hemlock tossed in for some variety.
Her clothing preferences are always on-trend, usually cropped, body-con tops or oversized sweaters and shirts depending on her mood. But she is not against a lazy day in the slightest, and may just as easily be found in a comfy sweatshirt or an old tee. Since gaining a waist and hips she will add a high-waisted skirt to an ensemble if possible, but is still upset about not being able to wear pants or shoes (her favorite fashion accessory next to purses). However, due to her fickle opinions she does have a bit of everything that is stylish in her closet; even more bohemian pieces. Eden generally sticks to neutral palettes (black, white, gray, navy, maroon, etc.) and utilizes her flowers and makeup for pops of color in addition to (usually gold) jewelry and accessories. Her edgier fashion sense is often in stark contrast to her otherwise innocent, candy-sweet appearance.
What is most noticeable about Eden is her vibrant warmth. She smiles brightly, laughs often, and won’t hesitate to approach anyone. However, first impressions are vital, as she is very set in her gut feelings. This applies to all aspects of her life as well, as she is very presumptuous. She does not understand the impermanence of life and expects everything to be the same as it was before, whether it is her environment or people. Not only does she react negatively to forced or unexpected change, but it takes considerable effort to change her opinions. She also struggles with permission; whether it’s feeding or a simple touch, Eden assumes that they won’t mind. Because of these assumptions, Eden can be very fickle; she bounces between activities and is easily distracted. She rarely finishes anything in one sitting unless it is important to her and giving her a time limit is often frustrating and pointless. She simply does not understand the finality of a deadline and unintentionally procrastinates.
Though she is not mean-spirited, Eden will always respond candidly when asked her opinion and her advice is blunt. The attitude of her honesty changes only slightly depending on the recipient and their sensitivity. Ultimately, Eden is hedonistic and will do what she wants when she wants. She believes in living life to its fullest, and selflessness is definitely not entertaining. She will not intentionally use others, but she does not worry about it if it gets her what she wants.
Likes:Natural settings, people-watching, makeup and beauty supplies, playing dress-up, socialization (GOSSIP), art projects, and sunlight on her skin. Dislikes:Being outside in the cold, crowded urban streets, complete silence/solitude, chewing/spitting sounds, action movies, being wrong, and being told what to do. Fears:Hurting those she really cares about and/or being unable to control her powers.
Energy Eden's primary source of food is drained energy from plants, animals, and other creatures nearby. This is usually done actively, but becomes automatic at a crisis point (usually right before she’s going to pass out). The source of her energy may experience feelings of fatigue, and it may become dangerous when she drains a lot. She prefers not to feed from people and animals unless she really needs to or it will serve a purpose other than sustenance, but won't hesitate if she doesn't like them. Eden has been known to sip off of Ian when she wants something he won’t let her have. She can feed off of plants that she creates, but they drain very quickly. With her rejuvenation powers, she can have a near-limitless food supply with naturally-growing plants. Physical contact is not required for her to feed.
Plant Care Given that both Eden’s essence and soul are plant-based, she draws nourishment from all things related to general plant care. Sunlight and water are great snacks, but they do not work exactly like food in her body. Though they do replenish her powers like food would, they also serve to energize her in terms of physical well-being, like a good night’s sleep or a cup of coffee would for a human. Eden also feels refreshed whenever she spends time outside, among her “kin.”
Disperse | Active Eden is able to “dissolve” at will into clouds of cherry blossoms and move about for small distances and periods of time. She mainly uses this as a method of evasion or escape, as physical attacks are unlikely to cause damage. Though she is able to move as quickly as she would normally, transport in this state is much easier when utilizing the wind. She is still aware of her surroundings and can move of her own free will to a small extent, but she cannot communicate with others or interact with the world differently than normal flower petals.
Energy Drain | Active If Eden is within 10 feet of a target, she can choose to steadily sap them of energy simply by being around them. The effects are slow and not noticeable at first, but after a few minutes the target will begin to feel fatigued and unwell. Once she begins to leech off of them, Eden can repurpose that energy to temporarily boost her own attacks and magic. This does not provide nourishment like food would, and is only possible so long as she continues to drain her target. Note: She can only feed OR use this power at any one time. She cannot do both at the same time.
Fairy Ring | Active Eden can create small patches of flora by touching her hand or ribbon to soil or grass. She can create fairy rings by moving in a circle, or simply leave trails or patches otherwise. When she leaves a patch or ring, any surrounding plant life will be rejuvenated and brightened considerably. As such, she will often resort to using this power to this end, simply to liven things up a bit. These flowers will eventually fade and disappear if not formed as a ring, but their effect on the environment will last a bit longer.
Green Thumb | Passive As a result of her nymph soul, Eden has a natural talent for growing plants. Even those she did not plant herself seem to perk up when she is nearby, and this rejuvenating effect lasts a short while when she is gone. Though it is not a form of communication necessarily, she has said that she "understands them."
Floral Note Eden naturally gives off a light floral scent at all times, which can be calming or therapeutic to others. The scent changes depending on the types of flowers she is wearing at that moment.
Ancestry Though she cannot speak it inherently, Eden is able to recognize and understand ancient Greek when it is written or spoken. Unfortunately she cannot respond or convey meaning in Greek, and has to do so in English.
Flowers Not only is Eden able to increase and decrease the number of flowers on her person at will, she can also change the types and locations! She often uses this to coordinate outfits, or may display her emotions this way through use of the language of flowers. Occasionally, a person's favorite flower may be used to cheer them up. She always wears some sort of flower crown and cannot have her ribbon free of blooms.
Wings Eden's wings resemble those of a Death's-head Hawkmoth but are colored in shades of pink. They have a large range of motion and are known to flutter whenever she is startled, interested, or agitated. She is also able to fold and tuck them neatly against her back if needed, which is helpful when wearing certain clothes.

Due to its immense beauty and incredibly short lifespan, cherry blossoms are coveted in Japan as a representation of the philosophy of mono no aware – a phrase literally translated as 'the pathos of things,' or an awareness of the impermanence of life. These particular blooms, however, came from a tree that refused to die by leeching the life of any and all organisms surrounding it, and look as healthy as ever! Given the tree that defied the cycle of life and death itself was surrounded in a field of carcasses of plants and animals long gone, Dr. Kyou was careful not to wander under its touch for too long. Thankfully, the blossoms inside the vial are much less volatile than its mother tree and only leech a little bit of life at a time to stay alive – which may have the tendency to fatigue nearby fauna or drain other flora completely.
A nymph (Greek: νύμφη, nymphē) in Greek mythology and in Latin mythology is a minor female nature deity typically associated with a particular location or landform. There are 5 different types of nymphs, Celestial Nymphs, Water Nymphs, Land Nymphs, Plant Nymphs and Underworld Nymphs. Different from goddesses, nymphs are generally regarded as divine spirits who animate nature, and are usually depicted as beautiful, young nubile maidens who love to dance and sing; their amorous freedom sets them apart from the restricted and chaste wives and daughters of the Greek polis. Wiry in build, Ian stands at around 5'10" with broad shoulders and long limbs. His skin is fair with a light sprinkle of freckles across his cheeks and shoulders. He spends time outside when he can, but can't seem to tan unless he’s burned. His caramel brown hair is often boyishly messy, and has a red hue when in direct sunlight. Ian's eyes are a light hazel color that leans more toward green than gold. Usually, he can be found smiling.
Ian's feelings dictate almost everything he does. Their accuracy varies, but he trusts them as a doctor would his instruments. Because of this, Ian is heavily influenced by and aware of things around him. For example, he is often quick to pick up on tensions between others and becomes anxious.
Ian is an artist at heart, sensitive and friendly and highly in tune with his world. Underneath that friendly exterior, Ian is a very emotional person, but can be difficult to get to know because of social anxieties. He is pleasant and personable when conducting business, and he enjoys being around others, but you'll have to work if you want to get closer. However, it is easy to see that Ian is kind and gentle. He is a loyal friend, and won't hesitate to help when he feels he is needed. He is more likely to wait until approached, but if the situation is serious he has no problems being proactive.
He also has a strong set of moral values, but they may not always be in accordance with society's rules. He trusts his gut intensely, and will often have a hard time going against it. Ian's goals are more centered on personal fulfillment than material accomplishments; his main reason for opening his shop was to be able to do what he wanted for a living his own way. That's not to say Ian isn't concerned with money, it's just not his main motivation.

Ian grew up with his parents and sister in the suburbs of Barton with two dogs and two cats. His parents bought a modest two-story home and Ian was born shortly afterward. He was cherished and loved, nearly spoiled, but soon was taught to work for what he wanted. He drew on everything, and enjoyed playing outside. He especially loved helping his mother with the garden, with all the different flowers. His younger sister Caroline came along when Ian was seven, but she proved to be much more serious than her older brother and preferred reading over horseplay. Ian was confused at first, having been the center of his parents' attention for so long, but grew to care deeply for Caroline.
In college, he majored in botany and business, determined to become a florist after years of entertaining his love of plants. He was fascinated by the beauty of flowers and the reactions they provoked in others. He got through school with a decent GPA and a low amount of debt, thanks to hard work on scholarships. After a few years of working various jobs, he now owns a small flower shop underneath a two-bedroom apartment in downtown Barton. Ian has started to notice a lack of companionship in his life, but romantic relationships are difficult. After providing flowers for a Lab party, Ian has taken an interest in Raevans; he believes he can provide a stable and supportive home, and single-parent adoption is rare.
Ian and Caroline managed to find a decently sized two-bedroom apartment on the second floor of an older building in downtown Barton, with room for Ian's business on the ground floor. Though not overly modern, everything is up to code and has a sweet, vintage charm that Ian finds cozy. Since he owns the entire building, hassles with landlords can be avoided. Though nothing about the building is especially eye-catching, its location is very convenient for shopping and other activities. The surrounding area is a nice blend of urban city and lush plant life, complete with a park across the street. Caroline has since moved out so that Eden could have a bedroom right away when she came home.
Ian's flower shop is situated on the bottom floor of his building, just about as convenient of a work commute as you can get. It is roughly the same size as the apartment above, though extends further in the back to support the balcony of the apartment. The interior is crammed full of arranged bouquets (the more expensive of which are confined to refrigerators), bunches of various flowers and plants, and even starters and other supplies for gardening. There is a small work space in the back where Ian and his assistant prepare the merchandise, as well as a small office space where records and a safe are kept. Caroline helped Ian decorate the space in soothing earthy tones, and Ian is especially proud of the soft pine flooring. Complete with handwritten chalk markers and price tags, Thistle Do Nicely is certainly a labor of love.

Caroline Flynn| Sister | 26 years
A legal assistant at a local accident and injury firm in Barton Town, Caroline is aims to one day be a district attorney or even a judge. Outgoing and lighthearted, she charges head first into life and aims to fully enjoy herself. While she is not reckless, she is often the one to initiate plans and does her best to push Ian into new situations (though this may not be appreciated). But when it comes to work and school, Caroline is all business and nothing can stand in her way. She loves Ian dearly, and is currently looking for another place to live now that Ian will have a Raevan soon.
Kieran Flynn| Father | 59 years
A former ER physician, Kieran now works as a pediatrician at a small-scale clinic in Barton. He is a kind but lively man, likely the source of Ian's gentle demeanor, and is always available should his children need him. Despite his warmth, Kieran is known to be no-nonsense and serious when the situation demands it. He has no qualms about voicing his opinions, though always does so in a gentle manner.
Amelia Flynn| Mother | 57 years
After working as a nurse for many years, Amelia was forced to retire after a bad fall a few years ago. Though she can still get around, her hips ache after a while and she could no longer keep up with the demands of her job. She is not bitter in the slightest, however, and enjoys spending her days at home. She has always been crafty in her spare time, but the hobby has blossomed into a casual home business. She makes and sells many different things online, including quilts and home decor pieces. Amelia is more headstrong than her husband and has a strong caregiving urge. She has pestered Ian and Caroline about grandchildren a few times, but has held off as of late.
Ursula| Pet Octopuss
After the strange trip through the hedge maze on Halloween, a tiny perforated box arrived on Ian's front step. Inside was a small creature (a "chimera," according to the small card that was inside). A mixture of a cat and octopus, Ursula spends her time causing trouble around the apartment. Her favorite pastimes include soaking in the bathtub, knocking things over, and hiding in strange, very small places.
Bethany Harris| Manager at Thistle Do Nicely | 28 years
A sweet young woman working on her doctorate degree, Bethany helps around the shop when Ian is unable to be there or is busy in the back. She knows how to make arrangements and has an eye for design and aesthetics, which Ian appreciates. She brings a sense of energy to the shop when she's there, to compensate for Ian's somewhat lacking reserve of it.

Rhedefre| Broken Dawn & White Stag Acquaintance Though they only met briefly, Eden is quite enamored with Cesc. Their shared color palette and his physical differences have made quite the impression, and she is eager to see him again. He was also the first Raevan she met after being born, which makes him even more special in her eyes.
Vesna| False Reflection & Rusalka Best Friend The two nymph Raevans met on an arranged playdate, and Eden had been in contact with her ever since. Vesna is fun and bright where Ian is rather quiet and boring, and Eden constantly talks about and texts her. She also regularly bothers Ian about meeting up with Vesna again.
Yuri| Living Bone & Gray Wolf Acquaintance Eden met Yuri during their scavenger hunt for the lost essences at the Lab's spring party. Though she only talked to him briefly and didn't get much of a chance to get to know him, she finds him interesting. His near-drowning experience shook her up, but she is very glad that he is okay.
Cruz| Forceful Mistletoe & Crocodile Acquaintance They didn't get much of a chance to talk during their hunt for fel essences, but Eden thinks Cruz is very sweet and seems very nice. She would like to see him again and get to know him better.

Rhedefre| Broken Dawn & White Stag Friend Perhaps one of the first Raevans that Ian really got to know, Cesc is one of Ian's favorite people in the Lab community. The stag is very friendly and engaging, and Ian hopes to speak with him again soon. Due to being only loosely associated with the Lab until recently, he has had little chance to meet with others outside of organized events. After introducing him to Eden he is eager for them to become good friends.
Lulu| Self-Indulging Ink & Br'er Rabbit Acquaintance Though Ian doesn't know her well, he's seen and spoken with her at various Lab events. She seems nice enough, and certainly polite, if a bit easily distracted.
Ethiriel| Unoxidized Silver & Tea Plant Acquaintance Another vaguely known Raevan, but one that Ian is particularly fond of. Ethiriel seems very sweet and gentle, and Ian feels very soothed by her presence. He hopes to get to know her better and to eventually introduce her to Eden.
Cruz| Forceful Mistletoe & Crocodile Friend After meeting Cruz at a few Lab-sponsored events, Ian has grown quite fond of the croc. He is a sweet and friendly boy with a good heart, and Ian appreciates his naivete and warm smile. He hopes that Cruz and Eden might become friends in the future.
Yuri| Living Bone & Gray Wolf Acquaintance After helping to save the wolf Frei from drowning at the marina, Ian can't help liking the guy. He's very shy and quiet compared to other Raevans he's met, but it's a welcome change.

They text frequently, and Justin has even convinced Ian to use things like Snapchat and Instagram (though his use is much less frequent than Justin's). Zeke Farris| Anastacia Acquaintance After dropping off his essence and Antheia's soul for the Raevan-growing process to begin, Ian has great faith in Zeke. Not only did the man seem quite friendly and reliable, but he also eased a few of his concerns about the process.
Lorenzo Fisch| Vesna Acquaintance Perhaps his most loyal customer, albeit a bit of an eccentric one. Lorenzo is a very nice man with a rather unusual job as a licensed necromancer. He has a bit of a strange relationship with Vesna, but it's not his place to judge or say anything.
Nell Wilson| Dair Acquaintance After meeting Nell when she visited the shop for flowers to welcome her future Frei, Ian reunited with her at the Lab's New Year's Eve party where they kissed at midnight. Though it was embarrassing, Ian does think well of her and considers her very friendly and nice.
Yves Lecuyer| Yuri Acquaintance After hunting down essences with him, Ian has come to like Yves. He feels a sort of kinship with the man, between their brand new Freis and quiet personalities.

I still don’t consider him a dad – more of a brother – but I respect that he knows more than I do. We fight sometimes, but who doesn’t? He’s different from me and doesn’t completely understand me, but I know that I should listen to him. I’m not a newborn anymore, so it’s more like mutual respect instead of parent and child. But I definitely consider him – and Caroline – my family now. Don’t tell them how mushy this is!”

"‘Passed on’?” She only frowned more. ”What does that mean?” Ian opened his mouth to reply, but paused before speaking.
”Eden, that means she died. She’s not… living anymore.” He glanced at his mother sadly as she closed her eyes. ”Her soul has left her body…”
Startled, Eden balked at him. ”What? She still has a body, just put it back!” Ian’s eyed widened when he saw her panic. The others looked equally surprised, but Caroline recovered first. ”Eden, honey—“
No doubt trying to avoid any awkwardness, Ian touched Eden’s arm. “Eden, let’s go into the other room.” He ushered her into the entryway after giving Caroline and his parents an apologetic look. They stood near the door and he sighed, running a hand through his hair. ”Okay, so… Human souls don’t work the same way as yours…” He paused. ”They leave forever, and you can’t get them back. It’s… like going to sleep. But, um, you never wake up.” His voice cracked softly as he explained, but Eden was too busy trying to follow his reasoning to consider that.
She continued to frown at him in confusion. ”So… Kind of like Snow White?” She recalled the story Ian had read to her when she was first born. ”But she can’t wake up, so… What happens?”
Ian sighed. ”Well… She’ll be buried, and hopefully her soul can rest. We’ll hold a service, and…” He trailed off. Eden waited for him to continue, but received only awkward silence.
She sighed heavily; she didn’t understand. How could you not wake up from sleep? What should they do now? ”I don’t get it. She’s still there – she’s not gone. Everyone keeps saying she’s gone.” Her wings fluttered in frustration. ”Why are human souls different? Can’t you still capture them?”
”I-I mean, maybe, but… It’s too late, Eden. Even if she could be brought back, you just can’t do that.”
Eden flared at that. ”Why not? Dr. Kyou could do it!” Ian looked at the ceiling as she watched him. Why weren’t they trying?
”It wouldn’t be her, Eden, just like you’re not the nymph who gave you her soul.” He looked sad. ”Grandma May, who she is, her personality… It’s all gone.” She caught a tremor in his lip as he spoke and some of her irritation faded.
”But…that girl down the street got a new dog after hers died… It’s not the same but it’s still a dog.” She seemed perfectly happy now! The end result would be different like a Raevan, but Ian would have a grandma again.
”Eden-!” Ian stared at her in shock, mouth open. He covered his eyes and took a breath. ”N-No, it’s not the same. That might fill a void, but… Grandma May can’t be replaced.” He rubbed a hand over his eyes and let out another long sigh. ”I’m sorry, I… Can we talk about this later? I’ll answer any questions you have then.” He took a breath. ”I can’t do this right now; I need to be with my parents.”
The tone of Ian’s voice was what made Eden back off. He sounded frustrated, yet strangely tired despite it being mid-morning. She crossed her arms and sighed, but her tone was softer now. ”Okay. I’m sorry.”

“I’ll be honest with you: I hate checkups. They’re invasive! I don’t mind people touching me, but this is different. Zeke’s a nice guy and all, but… I don’t know. They’re boring, and I’d rather be doing anything else. I can see why they’re necessary, though.
“As for the community, I love it! It really provides a sense of family, I guess. Especially the other Raevans; I’m not insecure about being a Raevan or anything, but the automatic kinship is always nice to return to. I’m very close to a few of them, too! The Lab will always be part of me, definitely. I mean, I’ve literally known them since I was born! I might not know everyone very well, but it’s comforting to share that part of our lives. I know that if Ian and I can’t figure something out, they’re there to help.”

⒈Brief meeting with a staff member (PRP) to pick up your newborn Frei. ⒉General RP with staff and owners, the Raevan must take part in at least ONE open RP event. ⒊Sufficient emotional and mental growth on your Raevan. Drama is encouraged! ⒋Perform a check-up (PRP) with Zeke. ⒌Perform a growth quest. Growth quest can be thought up on your own, but you will need to have Kyou's approval before you do anything about it. Or you could let Kyou think up one for you.
