Who: Eden (Cynnybun) and Iorek (Ac.Wings) Where: Gambino Marketplace When: Around noon Weather: Chilly and a bit windy, sunny with a few fluffy clouds.
As soon as the plans were set Eden was officially beyond excited. She'd been meaning to meet up with Iorek for quite some time to properly thank him for what he'd done at the spring Lab party. It had been about nine months, but it had taken her a while to get around to realizing that she should in fact thank him. And then, such was their luck, Ian had misplaced the list despite it being remailed and updated frequently. Then the holidays had come around--Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas... It was all a bit overwhelming. She liked the concept of holidays, sure, but did there have to be so many? And in such a short amount of time?
But now it was a new year and a new start, so it seemed the perfect time to make good on owed thankfulness. She could still remember the sound of the birds as they swarmed down on the party, the way they'd pecked at and swooped down upon the guests. But Iorek had been there in what had felt like an instant, scooping her up and helping her hide under that picnic table. She remembered that he was probably the most memorable of the raevans she had met so far in terms of appearance, his skin like stone and his hands like giant claws. But she hadn't been afraid--no, seeing him had only brought relief. He had been nice to her, kind and selfless when he put himself in harms way to keep her from getting hurt.
Somehow she had managed to convince Ian to let her ride the bus by herself, but only in exchange for multiple text messages to update him on her progress. She had remembered to text him when she'd arrived at Gambino Marketplace, but had forgotten about other mandatory check-in times until he'd prodded her with his worried questions. She knew he meant well, but it was a little annoying that he didn't trust her. She wasn't dumb, and taking the bus was easy! All she had to do if she got confused was ask the driver, he knew the routes. Duh!
To: Iorek From: Eden Hey, I'm here! :D
Eden sent a quick text to Iorek before scanning the crowd for his familiar silhouette. She tucked a piece of hair behind her ear and huddled further into the scarf bundled tightly around her neck and shoved her hands into the pockets of her fluffy faux-fur coat. She wore a beanie to complete her shield against the cold, a sprinkling of flowers along her ribbon and throughout the hair that hung out of her hat and down her back. To say the least, Eden was eager to get into one of the shops that Iorek had mentioned and out of the cold. She let out a soft, impatient breath and smiled at the way it curled into little clouds of fog in front of her face.

Just after Eden sent her text she felt a gentle tap on her shoulder. Instead of a lost child or confused tourist to meet her gaze when she turned around, Eden was face to face with Iorek.
Today he was bundled up in a bright green scarf that Lillian tried to knit, a hat that she made after that looked like gained some skill, and a big marshmallow puff coat. To be honest, Reks really didn't find it cold outside but he'd hate to look out of place when everybody else was dressed for winter.
"Hey Eden." But his greeting sounded muffled from behind his scarf. Reks huffed in embarrassment and quickly pulled the thick material down from his face. Wool clung to his tongue and lips leaving Reks to fight back the urge to gag and pull fibers from his tongue.
"Blurgh, sorry. So uh...hey...Eden." D'oh. He probably didn't need to repeat himself but too late.
"I'm glad you found it! Was it easy getting here?" Just then his phone chirped happily from his pocket. Looks like he found her faster than her text found him!
Iorek looked at Eden with a big dopey smile on his face. Their first meeting was pretty unusual even for Lab standards. Normally the events were a perfect spot for meet and greets but they ended up having far more action involved. It had been such a wild and chaotic ride that Reks was actually surprised Eden remembered him. It had been such a brief moment in time.
And yet in the text she said '...saved me'. Reks ate it up and felt very flattered by her words. His hero-longing days may not have been as strong as they used to be, but for a brief moment Iorek lived out a fantasy without even realizing it. It truly made his day, so much so, he'd spent the rest of it rereading old comic books and reminiscing about his 'glory' days....whatever those were.

Eden had barely spent more than a few minutes scanning the crowd for the Iorek's familiar, large shape when someone tapped her on the shoulder. She spun in place and initially frowned, but when she saw just who it was her lips parted in a bright grin.
"Iorek! Hi!" She couldn't help but smile at how he was bundled up as well, the puffy coat making him appear even bulkier than he already was. She was tiny in comparison, floating a lot lower than his height and taking up probably half as much space. "Yeah, it was totally fine! I just mapped the bus routes, then got on the right one." She waved a hand to show how little effort it had taken.
Eden hunched her shoulders a little to help shield her neck from the cold breeze swirling around them, tugging her beanie down a bit more to cover her ears. "So where should we go first? Somewhere warm, I hope?" She giggled softly and glanced toward the nearest shop. It didn't appear to be what they were looking for, but she didn't know the layout of the marketplace at all. "I know I have to find a present for Vesna somewhere. She loves anime and manga, especially the magical girl stuff and those ones with the really pretty boys?" She squinted slightly, trying to remember the name. "Oh, and cats! Anything with cats is good, too. But otherwise just lead the way--you're the one who knows his way around!"
