 [.01] Shop rules apply here. [.02] As of (date 2015), some character restrictions in ORPs only apply:
A. An owner who is waiting for their Raevan is allowed TWO characters, but the second needs to be tied to the Guardian you're playing, not someone else's character. B. Non-owners will be allowed TWO characters to RP with. One must be a potential Guardian and the second needs to be tied to that potential Guardian in some way. C. Raevan owners are allowed THREE characters, including the Raevan. Again, the other two need to be a Guardian and someone related to them in some fashion. [.03] Mind your post formats. Please do not use fancy post styles or super tiny font. Please? ;3; [.04] If you are not a Raevan Owner, you may not post until your Character has been posted in the Non-Owner Profile sticky. ((NOTE: This thread has changed since August 21st, 2014. If you haven't posted up your Non-Owner in the new thread yet, we suggest that you do so.)) [.05] Please don't crowd the Raevans! We all know and love the Raevans, we all have our favorites, but please do not crowd them. You'll all get your chance to say hi! [.06] Have fun! Somethings go without saying, but some are worth saying; we're all here to have a good time! [.07] Be clear about stating where you are! Do so by using (( )) around which area you're in, above your roleplaying post. For example:Quote: (( Dr. Kyou -> Food Table ))
Dr. Kyou, now magically recovered, sauntered over to the buffet to grab a plateful of delicious durians. Psssst, the official 'locations' for the party are bolded in the description. Use those names! You can add more as you go along too. . . .

  It was a sunny day, but with the trees towering over the outdoor cafeteria area of the Lab building, creating a lovely shade with slivers of sunshine shining through, it wasn't too hot in this summer weather for a small outdoor tea party. Of course, if you would prefer it, you can head on into the indoors area of the cafeteria to escape the heat. The indoors area is air conditioned.
Beautiful flowers in all shades and sizes adorn the table tops, which are covered in exquisite table cloths. A nice selection of both sweet and savory treats adorn a long table just in front of the gates as you enter the premises, tempting you to pick one and try it. Finger sandwiches with smoked salmon, cheese on crackers, quiches, even beef sliders if you prefer something a little heavier this lovely afternoon. The variety of sweet treats were even larger than the savory options. Scones, of course, with several options of cream such as chocolate, vanilla, and the traditional strawberry jam. There are also various fruit tarts, cupcakes, tartlets, macaroons, and all sorts of cakes. All bite sized for ease of eating, as well as giving you the opportunity to try more types of food.
For drinks, there is a little tea tasting corner (refer to post below) but if you don't drink tea, there is a selection of fresh fruit drinks at one end of the long table as well. Just grab a little glass or mason jar and fill it yourself. --[ LOCATION REFERENCES ]--

  Even among the abundance of fragrant flowers, the scent of tea is evident in the air around the tea party as pots upon pots of teas were being brewed. Situated behind this table is none other than Jeremy, the organizer of the tea party himself. Manning a small stove with a kettle of water boiling on top of it, as well as quite a few teapots and a large collection of small teacups.
Sitting in little white plates arranged neatly in a row atop the table are different types of tea leaves. And before the plates are labels letting you know what kind of tea it is. Feel free to pick up the little plates to give the tea leaves a whiff, and if you're keen on trying out some of the teas, just let Jeremy know and he will brew you a small tasting cup.
--[ LIST OF TEAS ]--
EARL GREY - A fragrant black tea with a distinctive citrus flavor and aroma derived from the rind of the bergamot orange. ASSAM - This black tea is known for its body, briskness, malty flavour, and strong, bright colour. OOLONG - These rolled tea leaves makes a tea that tastes woody and thick with roasted aromas. LAPSANG SOUCHONG - This is a smoked black tea, with strong distinctive flavors that include dried longan, pine smoke, and whiskey. PU-ERH TEA - Tastes strongly earthy but clean and smooth, reminiscent of the smell of rich garden soil or autumn leaf pile, with a hint of roasted or sweet undertones. JASMINE TEA - This green tea is popular for the lovely scent of the jasmine flower. The taste is subtly sweet. SENCHA - This extremely popular green tea has a light, refreshing, clean and toasty flavor. GENMAICHA - This green tea with roasted brown rice in it is mild in flavor and combines the fresh grassy flavor of green tea with the aroma of the roasted rice. HOJICHA - The roasting over charcoal process of this tea replaces the vegetative tones of green tea with a toasty, slightly caramel-like flavor. ROOIBOS TEA - Rooibos is a mellow and relaxing herb whose slightly nutty flavor offers hints of cherry and toffee. HONEYBUSH TEA - Smooth, gentle roasty flavor and slightly fuller bodied and sweeter than rooibos, with a clean, refreshing finish. CEYLON WHITE TEA - Or also known as 'Silver tips', it has a delicate, very light liquoring with notes of pine & honey and a golden coppery infusion. SILVER NEEDLE - Prized as one of the most expensive teas, the flavor and fragrance of this tea is delicate, light, fresh, and sweet. YERBA MATE - Its taste has been compared to that of green tea but with a more herbaceous, grassy character. CHAMOMILE TEA - This calming herbal tea is grounded and earthy with hints of apple and floral sweetness. LAVENDER TEA - Soothing and highly aromatic tea with a light and slightly sweet taste. It tastes almost like how it smells! ROSE TEA - This black tea infused with rose petals is a medium bodied tea with a light and floral taste and aroma. CHRYSANTHEMUM TEA - Very refreshing and has a natural sweet fragrance and taste. Some rock sugar is added for additional sweetness. PEPPERMINT TEA - Minty and invigorating. For centuries peppermint has been used to aid digestion, making it perfect just after a meal. LEMON & GINGER TEA - Spiced tea with a bit of zing! This lemon and gingery blend will lift your spirits on even the cloudiest of days.

 Samples Situated in a shadier spot across from the food and drink tables is a curious assortment of empty tea pots and several cultivars of plants. No one is tending this DIY table save for a couple small, but neatly written cards centered in pretty gold frames. The first one reads as follows:
"Welcome to the Lab's very first DIY craft table! In the spirit of the party, here you can make yourself your very own teapot planter to take home and love forever! Please follow the rules below so that everyone has an opportunity to make one themselves."
1. One (1) teapot per person. 2. One to Two (1-2) plants per teapot. 3. Please describe your pot and plant selections ICly in the RP.
After you make your choices Kyou will photoshop your selected pot and plants together and drop them in the main thread for you! Eleven pots have been selected and set out for party guests to pick from. There are multiples, so do not fear someone taking the pot you have your heart set on before you get a chance to get to the table! Some are larger than others but keep in mind that only a max of two plants can be put inside any one pot. Once you make your selection, move on down the table to the next station!At the far end of the table there are multiple groups of twenty different plants awaiting their new homes. These blossoms (and there lack ofs) range from succulents to annuals to perennials and even two types of carnivorous plant! Take a look at what the table has to offer and make your selection. There's plenty of potting soil to go around and even a couple of full watering cans to give your transplanted greenery a drink once they're settled!

Aside from the annual gatherings that were traditionally held by the Lab every summer, there was another reason for the tea party held at the lab building today. And that is to celebrate Kyou's recovery! After over half a year's of continuous hard work at physiotherapy, he could finally leave his wheelchair and support himself on his own with crutches!
Dressed in riding boots, white shirt, a navy blue vest and most obviously holding a pair of forearm crutches, Kyou will be present at the tea party today. His hair is still white, he may be a little on the thinner side still, but he is still his own cheery self as he greets everyone with a smile.

(( Kyou -> Dining tables // Jeremy -> Tea tasting ))
Kyou was unsure as he gingerly stepped out into the outdoor area through the cafeteria doors, with a steel grip on his crutches, helping him support his body weight as he stumbled with his weak legs. Sure, finally being able to get out of the wheelchair was something to celebrate about. However he was not expecting something of this magnitude. He just wanted a little dinner gathering maybe, with close friends and maybe with the staff members of the Lab.
He managed to take a few more step forwards, crossing a few row of empty tables before needing to rest. Panting softly, he kicked a chair back with the crutch and plopped his a** on it. His stamina was still something to be desired.
Admittedly though, as Kyou sat on his lonesome out here in the middle of the garden, the tea party was very well decorated. Vases filled with fresh delicate flowers, there were ribbons among the branches in the trees above, and the beautifully decorated food table up front. Even from his position he could see the delicious treats displayed on it. It was very tempting to go and pick some right now, but he had to cover twice the distance he just made to reach the table. Which put pause in his step.
As he quietly considered if he should get up to go get some cake, Jeremy came up behind him and gave him a pat on the back.
"Glad you see you up and about outside!" He beamed, holding a tray of empty teapots in his hand. Jeremy was dressed modestly in a white shirt and a dark grey apron. He will be manning the tea tasting table on his own today. "Nice and breezy day out huh? Not too hot or humid, just the perfect weather."
Kyou nodded in agreement, smiling softly. It was indeed a nice sunny day out, with a gentle breeze in the air that rustled the trees every once in a while.
"Oh you should thank Duncan for the beautiful flowers and the plants over there by the teapot planting corner." He gestured as Kyou too looked over. It looked like it would be so much fun and could be popular with the kids, or younger Raevans. "Okay I need to go to my post to prepare, people could be here any minute now." And with that, the man gave Kyou another pat on his back before walking back towards the tea tasting table.

[[ Melanie → Arriving → Tea Tasting Table || Jeremy ]]
"How long has it been? Months. No...almost a year. Wow, how time flies." Melanie said aloud to herself as she looked down at the note in her lap; her invite to this small tea party that Lab 305 was holding in honor of Dr. Kyou's recovery. She hadn't met the man, but she had heard many good things about him and his work through the grape vine. She was glad to hear of his recovery, nevertheless. Finally, she had arrived.
Melanie wondered if she would see Thanatos there. She hadn't even talked to him in quite some time. They had gone on a date the previous year after the Crawfish Boil, but nothing really manifested, at least not at that time. Granted she was extremely busy with work, as was he, and she was taken away on assignment much of the time. But now, work was calm and she was able to get out and live her life once more.
Applying a light layer of red lipstick to her pale lips, she pushed the two together and, with a pop, she looked herself over once more in the mirror before pushing her curled hair behind her ears and taking a deep breath. Here she went, and for some reason, her nerves were getting the best of her. She exited her vehicle, which was conveniently parked down at the next block, and began the trek up to the lovely building of Lab 305.
As she entered the outdoor area, she scanned the place, looking for anyone she may know. 'Is that...Dr. Kyou? Hmm...It must be.' she thought. She continued to eye the place over, noticing the beautifully set up plants at what seemed to be a planting table, the delicious sweets and treats, and then, finally, the array of teas at the tea tasting table. 'Am I really the first one here other than the host?' she thought to herself; but with a forced smile she made her way up to the table where he was.
"Hello there," she began as she made her way towards the tea tasting table, "you must be the one organizing this. Thank you so much for inviting me. I'm Melanie Devereux, or Mel for short. Lovely assortment of teas you have here." she stated, wafting the air towards her and looking over the display. "Mmm." she muttered before settling on something she knew she liked. "May I have some earl gray, please?" she asked, softly, unsure if there was some fee or not.

(( Jeremy - Tea tasting ))
Jeremy was so busy finish setting up his table that he did not notice Melanie walking up to him. "Oh!" The surprise was evident on his face as he looked up. But within a few seconds it had turned into a pleasant smile as he straighten up, flattening the apron against himself as he offered his hand to the pretty lady. "My name is Jeremy. It's really nice to meet you Melanie."
The man was appreciative as she looked over the assortment of tea. A little nervously, he looked over everything on the table. The little white plates were set out with a generous amount of tea leaves on them, the labels were correct. Everything seems in place and now he just need to serve the teas when they are ready. It may be a little hard to believe, even though he had a lot of experience serving tea for other people, it was his first time hosting a tea tasting.
"Good choice!" He exclaimed when she made her pick. "I just have a freshly brewed pot of earl grey over here." He said as he picked up an old english teapot with pink roses on them. Since this was a tea tasting though, he had prepared little handleless tea cups the size of espresso cups. "Be careful, it's hot." He offered the cup to Melanie.
"If you like earl grey, perhaps you should try the rooibos as well?"

[[ Melanie → Tea Tasting || Jeremy ]]
Being a journalist, Melanie was always taking mental notes on every little aspect of any sort of gathering she encountered. Sometimes she would even take pictures to go along with her articles, just in case she needed them for a story later on down the line. She had done one piece on the Lab as it stood over a year ago just because there was no breaking news to write about. Though, because it went over so well, her editor was constantly asking for more little tidbits on this Dr. Kyou and his little creations. The people of Gaia were a curious sort, that much was for sure.
Her mind shifted back to the matter at hand. As the man spoke, she nodded, her smile much less forced than before. "Quite nice to meet you too, Jeremy." she stated, taking the small cup from him.
"Fantastic! Thank you so much." she replied in a similar exclamation of excitement; handling the small tea cup with care and heeding the warning that she was given. She blew a bit on the top of the tea, watching as it rippled around inside the small cup. As he suggested a different type, she glanced over the different labels until she saw the one he had spoke of. Rooibos, something she hadn't ever heard of, but was apparently nutty in flavor. With a curious nod, she spoke, "Yes, why not, thanks." her eyes darting back Jeremy's again.
She sipped slowly on her earl grey, savoring every last drop. Oh how she missed her days in college, where she would end up at the tea shop and drinking earl grey or lavender tea whilst studying for her next exam. It really did take her back a bit. Maybe she would try the lavender next just for the sake of reminiscing!
"So, if you don't mind me asking, how are you associated with the lab?" she pried. A journalist always comes prepared for an interview.

(( Ian → Entrance → Food Table ))
The fact that he had not been responsible for the flowers at this party helped ease some of Ian's anxiety, and left him truly able to enjoy the party for what it was. Though he was a bit nervous about being around a crowd of people, this was a good thing and he'd be able to see some people he hadn't in a while. Living in Barton had its perks, but many of the people he did know even casually from Lab 305 lived elsewhere. Or, at least, he didn't know anyone who else lived in Barton enough to visit them...
Ian had chosen not to eat before arriving, seeing as there would be food available, but it was a mistake. He really should have had a light snack or something, because his stomach was growling angrily as he approached the party. It was quite the impressive setup, with various tables of food, a classy tea table, and even a teapot-themed craft table. He hadn't expected anything less than impressive from the Lab, really, but it was still surprising. He was glad he'd let Caroline dress him up, because he probably would have been underdressed otherwise. He pulled gently at the neckline of his sweater vest, wondering if he should roll down the sleeves of his shirt. Although it was a bit warm, and he also didn't want to appear too formal. Though, like Caroline always said, you can never be overdressed.
He selected a tiny salmon sandwich, wanting to get some actual protein in before trying any of the tea or sweets. They were tempting, though, considering the vast selection of pastries and treats at the other end of the table. He glanced around, noting a face he didn't recognize off to the side. Was that... The invitation had mentioned that Dr. Kyou was feeling better, and that must be him, right?

(( Jeremy - Tea tasting // Kyou - Halfway to the food table ))
Delighted that she was willing to try the rooibos, Jeremy checks on the pot of rooibos tea brewing in a clear teapot. The brilliant red color of the tea was apparent through the transparent glass. "Rooibos or redbush tea is actually from South Africa. It is very popular in the United Kingdom." He goes on to explain as he poured Melanie a cup.
The question posed, while curious, was not unexpected. After all, Jeremy wasn't actively participating in the Lab's affairs until Kyou went missing. He smiled politely as he offered the cup of rooibos tea to Melanie. "I'm actually one of Kyou's long time friends. I stepped in to help him run the daily operations of the Lab when he was unable to." Grey eyes glanced at the aforementioned man still seated where he was since Jeremy entered. "He is hard at work still in recovery, so I thought I could stay a little longer to help out."
Catching a glimpse of Jeremy's look, Kyou felt a little embarrassed that he had been sitting there for a while now. Perhaps he should put in more effort to get to places. Slipping his arms into the crutches once more, he hoisted himself up and started towards the food table slowly, taking one wobbly step at a time with much support from his arms. Letting the sight and anticipation of tasting sweet treats motivate him. He also noticed someone already there at the food table, a new arrival, someone he don't recognize. However, he was only half way there when he had to stop to take a breather. He didn't want to take a seat to rest though, he just needed to catch his breath before continuing.

(( Henry and Ethiriel > Entrance > lingering))
As promised, the car ride over was short and easy; Ethiriel still didn’t care much for vehicles of any nature, but she was willing to put up with it for the sake of seeing her friends and meeting other Raevans. Nedhudir was left at home as he wasn’t needed, giving the Frei a little stress – but, despite his allergies, Gabe assured her that the pup wouldn’t get in too much trouble while they were gone. This did ease her mind a bit, but she felt like she was missing her right hand.
”Everything okay, Ethiriel?” Henry asked as he opened her door before offering a hand to help her out. The hand was taken gratefully and Ethiriel pulled herself out and into the bright sun.
As seemed to be habit now, Ethiriel hid her silver from the world to keep out of the heat, as well as her gifted sunhat and a pair of sunglasses – she didn’t quite need them for sight but Henry wanted to protect the Frei’s eyes either way. It made silver objects dull and what little sight she had to begin with was diminished, but Ethiriel supposed that the nurse was in the right and wore them anyway.
”I am fine,” she said, her voice low but not quite a whisper. She patted down her sheer sleeves and made sure the knot at her front was tight, keeping the cloth away from her ribbon. ”It is just warm, is all.”
”If it gets too hot we can always go back to the car,” Henry suggested. He then took a look around; there were a couple of people at the tea table, one of them being Jeremy – and then another at the food table. ”It doesn’t look like any of your friends are here, yet. Do you wanna wait for them?”
Ethiriel nodded and linked her arm around the nurse’s. ”I am sure some will arrive soon.”

((Nell -> entrance))
She had seen the sign for the party being put out during her morning run. She had thought about it until she made it back to her apartment, slightly out of breath and covered in a thin layer of sweat. She really shouldn’t, she had no idea what that place was or who the party was for or anyone that was going, and that would basically be like crashing the party, wouldn’t it? But, she told herself, looking through her closet to see if she actually had anything that would be appropriate to wear to a tea party. Haven’t you been telling yourself that you want to meet new people? Here’s your chance! Unable to defeat her own logic, she hopped in the shower to wash away the sweat from her run, putting on the floral sundress she had pulled from her closet and twisting her braids into an updo before looking at herself critically in the mirror. Well, it was certainly a far cry from her usual attire of workout clothes, which was a plus for meeting new people, she supposed. Hopping over to the door as she put on her sandals, she gave herself one final look-over in a small mirror by her door, tucking a few braids into a more pleasing place before giving herself an encouraging smile. “This’ll be great,” she whispered to herself, reaching up to tap a small bell hanging over the door in an almost ritualistic gesture before she left her apartment with a bounce in her step.
It didn’t take her too long to reach the Lab, though her steps slowed down the closer she got as if she were having second thoughts about going, and she froze in her steps completely when she saw who was loitering at the entrance. She couldn’t help the small “Oh!” of surprise when she saw Ethiriel, her eyes widening in amazement as she took in the Raevan’s appearance. She knew that there were some unusual things in Gaia, but she had yet to run into anything quite as….amazing as the being in front of her. Realizing she was probably being rude by staring, she took a few steps forward with a smile on her face (though her cheeks darkened slightly with a self-conscious blush).
”Hi, this is where the tea party is, right? I haven’t completely gotten lost yet, I hopeI” There was a hint of laughter in her voice as she spoke, and try as she might she couldn't quite keep her eyes from wandering over to the floating elven woman, she just hoped she wasn't being too obvious about staring.
