.:Rider Profile:.

Character Name: Keela
Age: 23 24 25 26
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Previous Craft/Rank: Apprentice Tailor
History: Keela was born and raised in Benden Hold. Her mother died while giving birth to her and at the age of seven she was orphaned when her father died from a fatal illness. The loss of her only parent left the young girl devastated, and she was in a rather numb state when she was kindly taken in by a neighboring tailor.

After her father’s death she became much more withdrawn, hardly ever going out to play with the kids who were her own age. She became hostile, moody, and stubborn, causing much grief for her foster parent. Turns later the Tailor began teaching her his own craft. She went along with it… at first, simply cause she knew she had to learn some kind of craft. She didn’t like it however, and when he refused to let her quit she became resentful of him. Keela continued on with the trade despite the loathing she quickly developed for it. What other choice did she have? She was good at what she did, and the other crafts she had no experience with.

One day when she was 15 Turns old, the ebony-haired teen was out at the market buying some material when a green Search dragon singled her out. Keela was positively elated, and there was zero hesitation in agreeing to go with them to the Weyr. There was nothing left for her in the Hold that she cared about.

Becoming a Candidate went a long way in restoring some of her former self. She came out of her shell even more when she was Impressed at her very first Hatching. Since then Keela has become almost an entirely different person from her tailoring days.

Description: True to the northern Benden climate in which she lives, Keela’s skin is pale and her eyes are a light honey color. In contrast to her light skin and eyes, however, her hair is a stark ebony and falls just short of shoulder-length. Standing at 5’3”, her build is sleek and muscular while still retaining some feminine shape. Her chest isn’t very large, but she’s not completely flat-chested either.

Personality: The first thing one might notice about Keela is that she is very confident about herself and her abilities. “Anything you can do I can do better,” may as well be her motto. Even if she can’t actually do it better, if she is interested enough in it she will train until she can. She is quite competitive in that fashion and is often seen as being rather feisty.

Keela loves to joke around and enjoy interesting conversation with her companions, but do watch out. Her mood can change like the wind, and an irritated Keela isn’t a very pleasant one. It doesn’t help much that she can be annoyed by just about anything. She also has a tendency to become rather sarcastic. Thankfully, most of the time she’s friendly and pleasant enough.

Despite her tough exterior, the rider can actually be quite sensitive to other’s words and opinions. She may not ever let it show, covering instead with flippant remarks and sarcasm, but she’s not as impenetrable as she likes to make herself seem.

There are many times when Keela can be rather inquisitive. Almost annoyingly so. She’s a perfectionist at heart, so she will question until she is sure that she has understood every detail almost 100% perfectly. She would much rather prove a minor annoyance before hand with all of her detailed questions than prove to be a hindrance later for misunderstanding something. Might as well get it right the first time, right?

Hurry it up, Mine. We will not lose this!

Size: Above Average
Build: Muscular

The first thing to know about Taith is that she is one sassy, sharp-tongued and driven green. Just like her rider, she’s determined to be better and do better than anyone else. Her confidence is soaring and her ego? Well, it’s hard not to notice it, it’s so huge. Her sarcasm is almost always present and when paired with a rather bulky frame (she’s large for a green) and strong muscles, it’s not surprising she can bully her way through greens and blues alike, at least those smaller then her.

She sees competition in everything, yes including her rider. But when it comes to Keela, Taith is more interested in using competition as a means to improve rather then humiliate Hers – though the same doesn’t hold true about others. You’re going to know, quite clearly, when and just how she’s beat you. She’s definitely not a gracious winner and a very loud sore loser.

That’s not to say this green is entirely full of sour thoughts and abrasive comments! For all her posturing and sharp attitude, Taith is undeniably hard working and will work to exhaustion, much like Hers. They’re a pair that’s easily baited but the results are often spectacular. The green is also rather thick-skinned, she just doesn’t care if you call her names, insult her egg, or otherwise imply she’s a b***h. Calling her weak, inept, or lazy, however, is like striking a flint in a tinder house – it lights a fire under her like you would not believe. Her short memory is probably what makes this work so it is up to Keela to reign her fiery green in.

.:Relationships:.

Riders

R’vik
I do not know this rider.
I do not know this rider.

Dragons

Xalth
I do not know this dragon.
A stubborn and lazy killjoy. Perhaps in time I can get him off his lazy duff and back into the air.

Non-Riders

Gavrin
A bit clueless and chipper, but a nice enough kid I suppose. Even if a tad annoying.
I have not met him personally, but the impression I received of him from Mine was rather interesting. At least his firelizard knows how to appreciate a good dragon when he sees one.

Sileny
Heh, a perpetual bitchy grouch it would seem, but she's certainly easy enough to screw with. I'm almost morbidly curious as to what type of dragon would choose to Impress to her.
Very blunt and opinionated. Haven't quite decided yet whether I like her or not.

.:The Wing:.

Dragonflight Pern
Benden Weyr active PC wing

Wingleader: S’vek and bronze Horenth
Wingsecond: H'lor and bronze Ukath

S’vek is an authoritarian man if ever there was one; he enforces harsh and rigid discipline upon his wing, and cuts his riders no slack no matter what. He doesn’t care if you’re hung over from the gather, or sore and worn out from a rough flight; you will be on time and on top form for drills or he’ll have you and the rest of the wing in an extra two candle marks to make up for your slacking off. He believes that this will drive his wing to push themselves and their wingmates to achieve the very best they can, and he doesn’t care if it makes for rough relations outside of work. It should be boted, however, that he doesn't expect anything of his wing that he doesn't also expect from himself.

S’vek is a great traditionalist; he believes in bronzes as wing and weyrleaders, the extermination of atypical colours, hates female brown riders with a passion, and tolerates female blue riders only grudgingly. His only break from tradition is his preference for female green riders over male green riders; he believes that like should Impress to like, so if a man is going to Impress a green he should at least have the decency to be really flaming gay and wear skirts outside of work.

H'lor - rather older than his wingleader - is a calm and actually very paternal man. He shares his wingleader's views on atypes and female brown riders - although with less intensity - but has nothing against anyone of any sexuality on blues and greens. If S'vek has been especially hard on somebody, you can guarantee H'lor will be there afterwards to speak gently to them. Additionally he will encourage wingriders to share any problems they have, and where he can he will help them solve said problems.

S'vek stands around 5'10" and is toned but not massively powerful; he's nothing special to look at in any definable way, but his confidence shines like a beacon and that along with power draws quite a few women his way. He tends to dress with flare as he feels it befits a bronze rider and wingleader to maintain his image at all times. H'lor is just about 6'0" dead, and is toughly but not heavily muscled; he has very kind eyes of a handsome dark blue. While riding through Time H'lor was unfortunate enough to come out in the middle of a Fall and was scored quite badly on his right arm and hand. Whilst the injuries healed well and he has little lasting impairment, the scars are very sensitive to temperature and so he's taken to wearing half-jackets and one glove at all times. The last person who sniggered at him soon found themselves in deep deep doodoo with S'vek.

S'vek is thirty and H'lor forty six. Both of them seem to be just about weyrmated to their jobs but H'lor has an on and off friends with benefits arrangement with a greenrider who Impressed in the clutch after him and S'vek frequently invites pretty things to his weyr to 'keep company' with him in the evenings, but these fancies never last long even by rider standards. Some people speculate that this attitude has come from the breakdown of a relationship he had with a bluerider in his first turns as a dragonman, and that this might also have something to do with his attitude towards female blueriders today.

A'nos and bronze Acriculeth (Tawny)
B'nas and brown Milnth (Rev)
F'tiz and brown Brumath (Tawny)
Ja'syn and brown Brynth (Naree)
T'go and brown Stoloth (Sarge)

NPC blue x5
Canoake and green Tatath (Naree)
Keela and green Taith (Elf)
K'la and green Yvoth (Murph)
NPC green x8
