It was a rather average afternoon at Benden Weyr, with Weyrfolk and riders alike going about their business as usual. Several wings were out and about performing drills, but one greenrider pair was certainly not among them. Shards! Taith, would you please just get it over with already? I can guarantee that at least one or two males will stop what they are doing long enough to chase after you.I don't want just the lazy slow-pokes dropping out of drills to chase. I want the good males, thank you very much.You know, if you would have just Risen last night or earlier this morning this wouldn't have been an issue and we could actually be out there doing drill with them right now.I wasn't ready then.... Well you're certainly ready now , so get your lazy butt up into the air!Red mixed in with purple at that provocation. Lazy? You're calling me lazy?!Prove me wrong then.The green let out a furious bugle for all the Weyr to hear before she leaped onto dove down onto a herdbeast and began blooding it. Once she had finished her fill, she bugled a challenge once more before her glowing form took off into the air. Down on the ground, Keela merely smirk. She knew that'd get her partner going... [Reminder!
Green Taith is a large green, so she will be rolling 4 d20
Blue Troiseth will roll 2 d20
Brown Gneisth will roll 3 d20
Brown Milnth will roll 3 d20
You must match all the numbers rolled by Taith ( 15, 14, 2, 7 ) to successfully catch her.

B'nen and Gneisth were not among those with drills - in fact, B'nen's quiet, leisurely afternoon was rather interrupted by the scream of the green. Gneisth was far more eager though. You were sleeping last Flight, the brown reminded His, somehow sounding nice enough that it wasn't an outright accusation. Just a guilt trip.
Yeah, yeah, and you would've lost to Stromath anyway, probably, B'nen thought back to his partner, privately rather amused that his dragon was so attached to getting up in the air. But you wanna chase, go right ahead. Just be sure to win.
Gneisth was all confidence. I will certainly make an impression~ He lept into the air, large wings providing ample lift as he hurried to try to get to the lead of the males chasing. Then he could really show off his moves...

Milnth was over the disappointment of losing to the Bronze in the other green's flight but when Taith bugled he felt a twinge of anger at other males, though he only vaguely recalled why. B'nas smirked, he knew that Green and her rider. As much as he had been leery of the last greenrider, he was fairly excited this time round and egged Milnth on.
"Come on you trundlebug, let's see how easy you can catch her" he said as his Dragon took off into the air behind another Brown, Gneisth.
"Watch yourself Mine, Taoth's rider may not be as willing as her Dragon" with a very amused tone.

(Since 12 hours have passed I'm going to go ahead and make the next post. Troiseth can still join in, he will simply be late.)
Taith glanced behind her to eye her following thus far. Not bad, though not quite as many as she'd like. Still, the saying went 'quality over quantity', right? Perhaps the few browns might make for a good chase.
The green rose higher up into the sky, wanting to put some distance between herself and her pursuers before pulling any tricks. She planned to make these males work to catch her.

Gneisth spared only the smallest bit of attention to acknowledge the other brown, mainly to gauge his position before the younger brown rolled in what was a purely ornamental move, putting on another burst of speed as he straightened out of the acrobatic maneuver and continued on with a zigzagging flight path.
Oi, who's the one being chased, you or her? B'nen thought at his dragon, amused.
Should not the Flight be fun for all who chase? Gneisth teased back, sounding a little distracted. B'nen couldn't blame him - what the brown was up to would take rather a lot of concentration if he didn't want to fall behind.
She's a big green, don't forget to pace yourself.

Milnth almost laughed at the other Brown's zig-zagging flight. Surely that sort of thing would only waste precious chasign energy. Milnth didn't laugh simply because he wasn't about to waste anything in trying to catch the Green, now that Lust had almost taken over his higher brain functions.
B'nas instincitvely sought out the Green's rider, smiling as he did at Milnth's whirling emotions, so in tune was he that he instantly felt the anger at the other Brown.
Milnth roared at Gneisth when the Brown's tatics actually brought the other Brown closer to the Green. That would NOT do .... Milnth was the better Brown, he'd show Gneisth....

Troiseth and A'in were one of those in the drills. All because a prank went wrong. The blue turned to watch as Taith took off, followed by the brown and brozne. Mine, I want to chase And not waiting for an answer, he went to the closest clearing to land. HURRY! Please
A'in moved as fast as he could taking everything off so the blue could rebound from his last chase. Go and get her.
Troiseth flung himself into the air. All in hopes to get close to tweak a tail or two.

Taith was unfazed by Milnth's roar of anger; it wasn't uncommon for the males to get testy with oneanother during a Flight. She did take notice of the other brown's antics though. Was he trying to show her up? Hmph, like a brown could ever compare to the agility of a green! To prove her point Taith spiraled downward in a series of tight barrelrolls before abruptly pulling out and making a sharp turn on wingtip. Try to beat that!

Gneisth didn't know what Milnth's problem was - clearly they had different strategies for Flights though! He didn't waste much thought on worrying though, given the green had seen his tricks and come up with some lovely ones of her own. And while he could not hope to match the sharpness of her turn, he had plenty of things up his sleeve yet! For now, he dove after her in lazier rolls, taking care to display the markings on his wings when he banked midair to follow her new trajectory. He wasn't getting any closer, but he wasn't losing too much of his momentum...

Milnth watched as a Blue joined the chase... he recalled some other chase where that particular Blue had joined in and he was impressed that the smaller male even tried. He didn't waste time on pity though, he was MILNTH and he was the best. Hanging back as Taith wheeled and turned, mimicing Gneisth but with much better style.

Even from the last of the group chasing, Troiseth was not to be forgotten so easily. He watched the green do barrelrolls, impressed that she didn't smack into anyone. That was the joy of greens though, they had that ability. Pushing himself to get closer, the blue still looked for a tail to tweak, preferably the greens.

Taith had to admit those were some rathernice markings on the one male, but both browns appeared to be trying to show off while a late-comer blue was still strugging to catch-up. She began to start climbing higher up into the air again, performing a casual flip while at it. She wasn't worried about being caught any time soon.

Milnth Lashed his tail at the Blue but it was only half hearted, the other Brown was STILL closer to Taith than he was, despite her acrobatics and he wanted her.... surely she wanted him too? he was MILNTH ... the best dragon on Pern... obviously... didn't she see that?
Of course she did, that's why he managed to catch up to Gneisth, the two browns, for the moment, were neck and neck (pretty much) near the Green.

Troiseth didn't even flinch as the brown lashed his tail. It was tempting to just use that tail as an extra boost to get closer to the other brown. Putting in more effort, the blue knew that everyone loves a prank and reached for that brown tail.

Gneisth's large size was serving him well, and he pulled ahead of the competition once more, focusing for the moment on simply putting on a burst of speed.
