In-Depth Description Physical Description Name: Uuni Gender: Female Age: 21 Height: -- Hair: Very dark black; a little shorter than waist length Eyes: Pale Blue Skin tone: Pale; white; has difficulty tanning Build: Small chest; thin waist; good hips Distinguishing features: Her hands are larger than normal; they are womanlike in appearance, but their size ventures towards more of that which a man might posses Detailed description: No matter how hard she tries, Uuni simply can’t get a tan. Her skin is on the whiter side of the inhabitants of her Hold. This doesn’t seem to bother her any; it helps to flaunt her waist-length and naturally very dark hair and brings her nice features to focus. She’s been told she was beautiful before, but she generally tends to laugh and move on. Maybe it’s the pale blue eyes or the fact that she’s generally smiling, but there’s no doubting that she has looks.
These compliments probably have nothing to do with her chest size. There are many days where she goes without a supporting undergarment because she simply does not need one. There’s a chance that these comments have to do with her waist and hips as she’s been genetically blessed with swift curves.
When it comes to muscle structure, Uuni has a thin body but everywhere but her waist (and breasts) seem to be thickening with age. And when it comes to clothes, Uuni has a distinct hate for pants. Not only do they not fit her sometimes because of the growth in her hips in the last few years, but they’re absolutely uncomfortable to wear. However, anything but pants is generally considered acceptable. A nicely cut garment that brings attention to her legs is probably preferred.
Cultural Information Class: Candidate Work: Whatever she is assigned as a candidate. Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Residence Weyr: Ista Sector: East Type of Living Quarters: Candidate room with two other roommates.
Character Definition Quote: "I don't do love." Favourite Color: Yellow Musical Talents: Outstanding singing voice Strengths: Moderate cooking skills; overly positive attitude; generally relaxed and hard to anger; children and animals seem to like her (probably because it's torture to her) Weaknesses: Sexually inclined or "addicted" - in addition, she seems to ignore a lot of the social implications this comes with, and it is bound to get her in very deep trouble if she's not careful; has a habit of failing at almost everything in some way; has trouble being monogamous and making long-term friends; dislikes children and is unsure about animals Family: Two older sisters (one two years, the other 6); father and mother both still living and together Birthday: Unknown Character tracks: Burlesque | New In Town | The Storm | Don't Waste Your Time | Starstruck Personality: Uuni is an off/on type of personality. She has a happy, go-getting nature, and it is almost impossible to get her angry. Her most often expressed emotions are confusion and flirtatious joy. On more unique occasions, a bit of annoyance will join the emotional bunch.
Above all, Uuni does not believe in violence. She may think about it, and sometimes make very vocal exclamations of frustrations, but under no circumstance would she raise a hand to strike another.
Besides her general personality, Uuni traditionally used sexual interaction to chase away stress. It was for this reason that she could remain so upbeat, but it also made it very hard for her to make friends. Now, however, with traumatic memories back in action, Uuni is having trouble even using that method to relax. There is a lot of guilt she faces with any sort of sexual interaction and it may take her another turn before she is mentally ready to slide back into her old habits.
In the mean time, she has a higher level of stress, and is having trouble, but is slowly learning other methods of coping with this stress. She knows full well that if she isn't emotionally stable, or close enough to it that a dragon will not be alarmed, she will not Impress. If she does not, she's destined for home - a place where there is no future, freedom, or potential - and she is, though she won't admit, extremely scared of having to face the Hold world again without support. In essence, she realizes that Impressing a dragon, someone she can finally relate to without fear of abandonment, is really her only option.
It might be noted that she has a timidness around adult dragons. She does just fine with the baby dragons, but past a certain size, Uuni would rather avoid them than greet them. It's a fear that she can likely be worked through, but it also stunts some of her potential friendships with older dragon riders. History: Uuni comes from a very conservative, and very talented family. She has two older sisters. One is supportive and kind, and the other is harsh, stern, and down to business. On her mother’s side, there lies a very quiet, smart woman who takes delight in the studies of histories, records, and all of that boring bookwork.
Her father makes his knowledge apparent in building designs, holding locations, and all of the logical and detailed workings of what is required to sustain a community in a given area.
With such a talented family, it’s only natural that Uuni herself should have some inborn talent, right? No. Except maybe sex, but it is not a talent her parents condone.
The most of her life has been spent making do with her small persona in such a successful world of people. She’d help out every member of the family because she had to, and whenever she could manage, she used the comfort of someone else’s house and someone else’s bed to get out of her house.
Because of her hate for her family, Uuni sprung on the opportunity to leave. At age 17 a brown dragon on the search removed her from the boring, mundane life that was home. She met another young woman in candicacy and although the relationship developed into love and monogamy, it ended badly. The girl grew a paranoia that she would die before her nineteenth turn that eventually did end in her death.
The trauma has mostly been swept from Uuni’s mind through her body’s natural instinct to have her forget all of it. If asked, she will have no knowledge of those prior events and there is a semblance of made up stories to explain the past three years of her life.

Extended Personality
Format taken from Noyama Family
With two older sister's and a family that has a Holdview to win all Hold views, Uuni doesn't get along with her family well at all. This especially holds true to her father. Although much of her phenotype comes from her dad, they are next to nothing alike in terms of personality and his tendency to loud, angry voices and on certain occasions, violence, is just the icing on the cake.
Her mother and father, she believes, are still together out of necessity rather than love. It's hard to see, but Uuni is certain that it's there, and for that reason she considers her own mother weak for not stepping out of the situation. Perhaps it is jealousy because in the end, Uuni's the one who started bringing the family down.
Lastly, her two sisters. Of the highest to note is the eldest, Katrisyn. Uuni remembers in begrudged fondness how well watched and properly guided she was under the gaze of the eldest sister. When Uuni started her habits, there was quite a lot of tension built between them. Uuni considers it hate, and some other people might as well, but when she tried to commit suicide after the death of her lover, it was Katrisyn that was her healing shoulder. Uuni has long since forgotten the ordeal, as she has anything to do with her girlfriend's death, and so she will, perhaps forever, believe that there is nothing but mutual loathing between her and her eldest sister.
The middle sister is perhaps the one Uuni wants to avoid most for the mere fact that she can't hate her. With a seemingly forever good-hearted soul (although a bit dumb), it's hard for her to bring up any strong feelings of hatred without guilt to go with. Majbritt, in Uuni's mind, will always be the nosy, annoying, thinks she can solve everything with a smile and a hug sister.
Her family still writes her letters from time to time, but Uuni does not reciprocate the act.
Friendship
Uuni has extreme problems in this category. As much as she'd like to think she's the rebel, uncaring slut who is just in it for the ride, her family has ingrained a responsibility to her that will never leave. For this reason, Uuni not only has trouble finding friends that will accept her and keeping those friends, but she has moral trouble in being friends with them.
She's not indifferent to sleeping with a friend's exes or any number of other not so pleasant, mean things to people she doesn't like regardless of their status to her friends. Because she knows that most people do not have the mentality to deal with, or understand, her mostly unethical standards, Uuni refrains from friendships as much as possible. It is rare that she sees anyone more than once or twice "friendship-wise' if she can manage it. With her massive amounts of practice hiding from her sisters, someone would need a lot of good luck trying to find her if she caught wind they were looking for her.
Love
Perhaps Uuni's biggest motto: "I don't do love." Phrased in any number of different fashions, but the end result is all the same.
Her reasoning? It's trying, it pulls her down, there are too many rules in place, and. . . monogomy.
That aside, if the Armageddon came down and Uuni did start a real relationship with someone, she's as loyal as they come. When it comes to true love, it would not be hard for her lover to use her. It's anyone's guess as to why she does such a one-eighty in her personality when it comes to love, but no one will likely ever get to see that side of her.
She was in fact in love once. It was a very short relationship, only two and a half turns that ended in her lovers death. Uuni could not mentally take the trauma at the time and her body's natural self defense was to go into "shock" and create a falsified history for the turns which she had spent with that individual.
It wasn't until a turn after that when a fellow candidate started to trigger certain mental stimuli that Uuni could fall into the grieving process and come to terms with the event. This reason, as well, keeps her from being able to fall in love again, and for a turn or more, will likely hinder her usual sexual nature.
Work
Despite all of her insane habits, Uuni does okay in the work department. There are a few chores which she loathes doing (like peeling tubers or anything in the kitchens) and those working with her will hear about her dislike and discomfort.
This grudging nature does not, however, prevent her from doing the work. On especially delightful tasks (passing out letters to the Weyr), you won't hear a peep of complaint and she actually enjoys the distraction from the mundane drawl of free time. When someone does as much chores as a candidate, they start to wonder what freetime is for.
Play
More than anything, Uuni believes in her spontaneous nature. If someone suggests it (and it's not too dangerous), Uuni will jump onto it with rabid fervor.
Her free-time is spent doing the obvious for any sexually inclined individual, but she can't possibly spend all of her free time with that! She loves going for walks around the Weyr, and it is partially because of this that she retains a decent waist size.
Weakness
Uuni has abounds of weaknesses both physical and mental.
On the physical side, it's just that. She's weak. Not the frail, fragile kind; Uuni can take quite a tussle, but compared to a lot of the tough men and women at the Weyr, Uuni just doesn't stack up.
When it comes to the mental, there are perhaps too many to list and many of those double as strengths in certain situations. The major ones would have to be her 'played' lack of moral standards. It keeps her away from friends, and it has given her name a blackened nature. Without friends, Uuni becomes vulnerable to high-stress situations with no one to confide in.
Her other main weakness is love, and perhaps Uuni knows it. There is nothing that stunts her faster than falling in love. With a bit of coaxing, she'll go along with anything her love wants and it is a recipe for disaster.
Fear
Uuni is extremely squeamish of blood. Cooked meats she does just fine with, but raw, bloody things give her trouble and will certainly be a feat to overcome if she ever Impresses. On the best case scenarios, she has to leave for the bathroom, and on the worst, she's been known to pass out at the sight of deep wounds.
Along the line of dragons, Uuni has a hard time with flying and the adult's massive size. It is not a fear she is unable to overcome, but it takes a steady hand, and a steady dragon, to get her there.
Strength
Maybe Uuni's only true strength is her ability to stay positive. Perhaps it's not hard to knock her down, but she gets back up as quick as a flash. She can't understand lingering over something for too long, at least not on the outside. For this reason, she tends to be be able to keep a cheerful attitude even if, say, a punch bowl has just landed on her head in front of a huge crowd of people and she's sprained her ankle in the process. There is always a silver lining.
Talent
Uuni has only one, normal, healthy talent: A natural singing voice. Although, Uuni would more call it a curse than she would a talent. The reason? Her sister was always trying to get her to sing with the local groups, interact in a normal social manner, and make people see her as a good person. Naturally, Uuni ran from this like she would a wild feline, and most do not know, or will ever know, that she has the potential to win hearts with rhyming words.
Dragons
More than anything, Uuni finds dragons a slight bit confusing, but that's how it goes for most animals. She doesn't understand their inner mindset, and only their eyes can tell her of their opinion.
The telepathic speech is strange to her, but fascinating. She won't admit to it, but she spends a lot of time wondering what it's like and how loyal these supposedly loyal dragons really are. Would one truly follow her to the ends of the earth and back? It's hard for her to understand unconditional love, but part of her hopes it's true. A lot of her swears it's not.
Random
Uuni has a fondness for cooked meats, especially lamb. When she was younger, she thought that it would help her chest size grow, and now she's simply in the habit of eating it.
She does not tend to drink alcohol because it leaves her vulnerable and she has control issues that show in her dominant sexual attitude. On the rare occasion that she does partake in drinking, she tends to like her beverages light and fruity.

Acquaintances
Quick Reference Guide: Love | Friend/Very Good Company | Agreeable Company | No Strong Opinion/Boring | Aggravating, but not Unbearable | Severe Dislike People Avery: The girl who gets rich off of other people's bad habits. If there's a reason I keep her company, I haven't really found it yet. Curiousity, because she's friends with Kess, or maybe I'm just seriously curious about all the strange things that happen when she's around. She's a bit like a drug addiction: You pretend to hate it, and scorn it, but in the end, you just can't get enough. C'mor: Rather silly, really. I wish him good luck with solving the Weyr's problems. He seems a bit shy around women; when his dragon grows, I'll definitely work that to my advantage. Dayo: She. touched. my. stuff. She better bake me one heck of a birthday cake and give me back and feet massages for a week. Maybe if she made out with Avery in front of me, I'd feel better. Yeah, actually, I think that might repair any ails she's done. G'ran: Oh, he'll be an easy one, I think. I would shoot to say that dragon is almost too much for him, but he's a big boy; he can handle all of that loving, energetic play. Kesslan: Someday, I'm going to have to explain to her what 'just friends' means. In the mean time, I think I'll bask in the feeling of being appreciated, and strangely, I know it sounds weird, considered on the same level as someone else. Seems she's hard to shake, which is good, because goodness knows my lifestyle does a lot of shaking. Kyllae: I heard about her touching the eggs prematurely. Ahah, what a dork. Well, she's paying for it now since she's not allowed to stand. I hope I don't run into her. I'm not sure I want to know what she's like. Roka: She's one of those women who is really good at hiding what she's like on the inside. If she wasn't so helpful, I'd feel a little sorry for her. It's too bad our methods of getting rid of stress don't line up, because she's sharding hot. At least she'll be fun company for a week or so. R'than: Almost too old for my tastes, but not quite out of league. He has good taste in wine, and his dragon, Garith, was very helpful when it came to my fears. He's decent company, though I hope he doesn't try to persue anything farther. His actions at the beach were slightly worrysome, but I think he'll take the hint. Yali: She's my roommate. My boring, asexual, artist of a roommate. Z'ven: Hah. He hasn't gotten laid in a while. Nothing really much else I can say about him.
Dragons Condoroth: As long as I don't have to be with her around feeding time, she's an agreeable dragon. The croons when she sees me are nice. The feelings of neutral like are certainly mutual. Garith: A mellow sort. He's nice enough, but really how much of an opinion can you have of something when all they do is watch, fly, and say nothing? Naedreth: He just kind of sat there, really. He didn't try to bite off my hand, so it's okay in my book. Ormeteth: Very cute and full of energy, but I won't be letting him drink my klah anymore. Tiarenth: She scares me.

[PRP] Fortnights of Changes | [K'lan] | [11.08.09] Escaping from the dynamic duo of hell-raisers (Dayo and Yali), Uuni finds herself never a moment of free time when Kess shows up to interrupt the scene. Not that Uuni's too distraught over this as she hasn't seen the rider in a stretch of time.
[PRP] Hard to Shake | [K'lan] | [12.08.09] More Kesslan bothering Uuni. Is anyone surprised? It seems that Kesslan won't leave her behind no matter what, and Uuni is slowly beginning to understand that perhaps this is okay.
[ORP] Hey! You With the Hair! | [Nilen, Avery, Renna] | [24.08.09] Hoping to find out something interesting about the new Weyr, Uuni goes in search of Nilen. When she finds him, she learns how easy it is to be vague, and with a growing group, Uuni finds herself unable to pull anything out of him.
[PRP] Do I Know You? | [Yali, Rawni] | [25.08.09] Bored out of her mind with nothing to do, Uuni is hanging out with Yali of all people. Things get a little bit more interesting when Uuni's bad playing attracts a good-looking, although very angry, young woman that Uuni has no real interest in because of her youth, but makes a good tease all the same.
[PRP] The Meaning of Love | [Avery] | [31.08.09] The time spent with Avery has finally caught up to Uuni, and the simplest thing has triggered a small nightmare and a rush of memories. This latest episode is so bad that Uuni takes it upon herself to go for a walk, but Avery has to jump in and help. Both girls get a little more from the situation than they bargained for, and neither one leaves happy.

Memory Log For the first moment in a long stretch of time, Uuni has stayed in her own room. The easy breathing of Dayo is close by and is sometimes followed by a far less quiet snore from Yali's direction. Her own breath is quiet, contemplative, and she is busy trying to count the stars on the charts that she knows are there but cannot see.
There is comfort in the silence and the easy, predictable peace of the room. It's easy to close her eyes and imagine. It's also easy to leave them open and pretend the shapes can be made out as though it were day. It is too dark, however, to see her own hand. There is only the faintest glow from the outside hall on the other side of the room's entrance.
For a brief moment, she's reminded of somewhere else. She remembers those snores coming from an entirely different person to her right, and the soft breathing of a person awake two her left.
The recollection is pulled from an old memory, one she guesses to be from when she was nine turns of age. She had been scared that night that there were creatures living under her bed, and perhaps monsters outside. She had told this to her sisters, and they'd offered to keep watch.
It had felt safe, then, even after Majbritt had fallen asleep quickly, her eleven turn old body not really fit for long nights of watching over sisters. But Katrisyn had stayed awake well into the night with her back to Uuni, watching for any sign of trouble that might walk through the door. It had not mattered that there were no such things as Uuni's imagination had portrayed.
Now, with her concentration on the sounds of her two roommates, Uuni wonders why she picked now of all times to remember such a thing, but mostly what went so wrong as to have taken bonds so strong between a family and sever them as though they were a thin cube of soft butter.
She realizes she knows the answer, but has no desire to fix the issue. It is this lack of initiative, she knows, that makes her a bad person.

Memory Log; Guitars She remembers the first time she met Her. She was just another girl on the list to go with the other boys and girls on the list.
Ista's heat was just beginning. The swelter rose off the ground in vibrant patterns leading down to the lake. Looking out over the water now, Uuni smiles, her toes dipping into the water and tickling the rocks beneath the surface.
It is a good day. Despite what Avery might think, Uuni believes that maybe she cares a bit about the girl. She would be sad if she died, and isn't that enough?
But, that is not why she is smiling. Not really.
She is smiling because the faint sounds of a guitar are playing somewhere Uuni can't locate. It is not a song she recognizes, but it does not matter. The fact is, that She was playing a guitar when Uuni first met her. The air had smelled faintly of sugar that day, or maybe it was just something Uuni was making up. Maybe it had been the Girl's hair. Perhaps it wasn't a nice day at all.
But Uuni had been struck with Her even then. It was with full intention of hitting the furs that she had taken the hand of the nearest man. She had not led him away, oh no. She'd passed him a flash of white teeth and then taken one step back. It was then that she had passed the Girl a smile to melt the worst, whipping snow of her blizzard home.
Even though she hardly knew how, Uuni had danced. A few more people had joined them in the rythymn. But the important part was that the Girl had been smiling. Everyone else too.
It was important that people smiled. Whenever she'd gone to their rooms or weyrs, people were smiling. It was rare that they were not.
A frown was heartbreaking. It meant lack of hope. It meant potential for tomorrow not to come. But tomorrow would come, and Uuni knew it would be the best day of her life. And if it wasn't, the day after would be.
All the while, she could think about the guitar and Her. She would not think about the deceit to come later for she never really got to know.
It was a good day. Uuni had the music of a guitar and a smile. Even if she didn't have someone by her side, at least she still had the Memory. She would put off remembering the worst of these, and she would be happy.
