Lieutenant Okenite

Being summoned wasn't something he was used to yet, and it had him pulling a hand up over his mouth to keep his lunch in. He tensed at how sharp her words were and looked around at the other stronger individuals nearby. He didn't know any of them, and he only knew Laven's youma slightly. He was still unsettled by the thing.

The mention of knights and senshi helped connect the dots to all the things he felt around, signatures or something she had called them, but with so many different ones, it felt overwhelming. "Sorry, I thought it would be better to answer the summons, I wasn't sure what it was related to exactly. I thought it might be important if it came from the Queen and that I might find you here once I got here." Which he sort of had, even if she'd tugged him to the spot instead of him finding her by wandering around on foot.

Sighing slightly, more in relief than anything else, he nodded and tucked the pouch into his briefcase. "What should I do then? I don't disagree that maybe this is a lot more than I can even fathom, but I also have no idea what to do next."

He wasn't sure if it would be seen as going awol or something, he was still trying to read over all the information, and his introduction to all this hadn't been at the best time with all the storm stuff going on. He'd noticed the oddities with the local birds keeping hidden, something that always came with extended storms.

DSS Sailor Cernunnos
Roll: 90
Action: Arriving, putting on his gift, and finding Procyon.

In a weird paradox, being in the midst of this crowd of people made Cernunnos feel anonymous and hidden, easing some of his anxiety of being here in the first place.

The message had arrived and his house mates had gone running off to answer the call to adventure, or whatever, and he'd had to go with or look like a total loser. (He was learning Earth slang, and it was kind of rough going) Of course, the moment they'd arrived, he'd lost them somewhere in the crowd. There were just so many people... more senshi and knights than he could have imagined existed in the city, like they'd popped out of the ether entire. Also a distressing amount of the chaos people... flooding the area so much even he could feel them and their oppressive auras. Was that what a general sovereign felt like? Was that them, over there?

Cernunnos had done well to stay out of the way of such people. At least here, he could observe them relatively safely, hidden among all the others.

Slipping quietly through the crowd, the small senshi slipped the pretty jewelry out of the bag and onto his slender wrist, pinning the shiny stone onto his chest. Whoever Almadel was, he'd take his gift happily. They were pretty, and if they turned out useful, all the better. He held out his wrist, turning it back and forth to admire the bracelet, when his eyes strayed and found a familiar form. Soft ears perked with interest, he wove between people to get closer and reached out, from behind, to tug at the little ear tufts on the top of the soft grey hair.

"Procyon!" Cernunnos said with a mischievous grin. "I didn't know you'd be here."

Half-youma General Lavendulan and Personal Youma - Tallulah
Action: Removing Okenite from the fight and leaving him in her office in the Dark Kingdom before returning to the group.

Lavendulan fell silent for a long moment to consider her options. She felt just as helpless as he did but for different reasons. Being someone’s General came with a set of responsibilities she was not accustomed to.

With Staurolite, they were acquaintances and she knew with his promotion that he would be a capable asset to this mission and could work alongside him as she had done previously. But he was not assigned to her, she was not his General, and ultimately could not tell him what to do. At the end of the day, he would be responsible for his actions whatever they may be.

Okenite was different, as was their situation. Lavendulan brought him into the Negaverse and in doing so was solely responsible for his well-being. It was on her to make sure that he was properly trained and able to be self-sufficient on patrols. But usually, that meant starting out with gathering quotas and sparing.

Not this…

She looked up to the sky, catching a glimpse of a serpent-like creature pushing through the clouds only to disappear above the blanketing storm.

Keeping Okenite here would be no different than dragging him to the rift and leaving him to fend for himself. Dangerous. Foolish. And would certainly cost him his life.

Lavendulan sighed, her shoulders sagging just a bit as she looked back to her Lieutenant and reached out with a hand to cup the side of his cheek. Her smile was soft, apologetic, sad even. “I’ll accept whatever consequences there may be. But I can’t let you stay here.” she decided, her tone soft as she spoke.

In an instant, the two were gone and a moment later only she returned.

Half-Youma General Wolframite

General Wolframite was not one for being summoned outside of the proper channels and especially by someone outside of the Negaverse. It was disrespectful, but the level of power was not one to be ignored. Threats on this level needed listening, even if he wouldn't be taking ordered blindly from whatever entity they were dealing with.

The sky was frothing above, reminding him of the same electrical storms in the Negaverse, and he could feel the hairs on his fur stand up with the energy darting through the air.

The small bag was awkward let alone such tiny items, and he allowed Laven to assist with the pen and bracelet. It was odd how the jewelry conformed to the large size of his hands, but this was all clearly some energy or - as vague explanations with most of the time - magic.

The serpent above wasn't kin to him, at least not how it felt. Not like those distant goliaths in The Rift. Still, there was a itch in his core that wanted to reach out and tear into it's white underbelly.

"You should have kept them here. Even one solider could sway the tides - but I can see your apprehension to let a green sprout go into the storm just to snap in a strong breeze."

Dark Mirror Super Sailor Laon
Standing with DMC Cluster; talking to Arawn

Laon held Arawn’s hand unflinchingly, even when Arawn’s grip was so tight it started to hurt; the more people that gathered, the more chances there were for something to set him off. There was power in numbers though, right? With the Dark Mirror Court all gathered like this, there had to be some magic, secret power that they could summon. Could they throw this thing into Mirrorspace? Could it just drain the creature completely?

Oh, he was having such stupid thoughts. It would never work.

Laon put on a brave face because really, that was the best he could do in this situation. It didn’t matter if Almadel was giving them little gifts if they didn’t get a chance to use them.

“It’ll be okay,” he said quietly, just loudly enough for Arawn to hear. He didn’t want to draw attention to them but he wanted Arawn to know it would be okay. Even if he was still trying to figure out how.

Dark Mirror Prince Remarque
    Talking with Dark Mirror Cluster

Hybris was doing quite a good job hyping things up, and though Demeter briefly had Remarque’s attention, he had very little interest in harassing her. If she wanted a little extra protection by sticking around with them, fine. She was in good hands. And anyway, if s**t hit the fan and she needed a trip through the mirror on the way out, well. He worked well under pressure.

Maybe it was a little interesting to see Lete standing so close to her but Remarque didn’t want to think about what that was all about right now. There were literally much bigger things to think about.

“Was there a question there?” he asked Persephone. “I didn’t put the ballista there, if that’s what you’re asking. That was all Mirrorspace. So let’s hope there’s a plan to actually use it.”

It’s not like it had a timer any of them could have pressed, and it’s not like they even had a target until now.

The bag that appeared in front of him was snatched quickly, because he didn’t want any distractions and didn’t know how long they’d even have before whatever came next. He opened it and glanced inside quickly, unsurprised that nothing looked immediately useful. No ray gun? No high powered space gun? Whatever, thanks.

“I don’t know if anything’s safe,” Remarque answered Sappho, picking through the bag. “Can’t imagine ‘Almadel’ would have any reason to sabotage us, though.” He found Loke’s eyes, and then Telesto’s, and explained, for them or anyone else who hadn’t run into the man yet, “He’s a merchant, some alien. He’s always got weird requests but sometimes he’s got some decent things to trade. He pops in and out, he’s been around for a few years. And, from all I’ve been able to gather, Earth’s survival is preferential to this thing’s,” he nodded to the sky. “So I guess we’ll find out what all this is about soon enough. Almadel says he’s not much of a fighter, so maybe this is the best he can do.” Or, maybe it was a trap. He couldn’t make sense of it if it were but he supposed nothing was off the table.

“Keep an eye on everyone else who got these, see if anyone figures it out and can give us a heads up before we wind up guinea pigs.”

Corrupt Eternal Miyamoto

The panic which filled Lavendulan didn't go unnoticed by him, he'd picked up on things when she cursed and pulled out her tablet, something was clearly wrong. Before he could question things, ask her what was going on, a Lieutenant was appearing before tham and she was was rambling to them. Watching the normally calm, and collected, General ramble he shook his head slowly as he managed to piece together the gist of things. He was new and didn't know any better...he'd gotten the message to gather here - for everyone to gather here...and he'd come. He didn't know what he was walking into, thoug hdid any of them? He might know less than most of them here but none of them knew everything, none of them were fully prepared.

Leaning into the blond General's side he focused himself on the other corrupt inthe group, because for now it was easier and it helped settle his own nerves. He'd been stressed out over this since the start, it had just gotten worse as the storms had increased in frequency and intensity. "Of course, I'd like that very much, I'm not sure what else I could use but if you think of anything I'd welcome it. It also seems the kitten I saved two years ago is a mauvian. So I've found myself playing house in a manner of speaking." Since Omen was still young and was very demanding, not that he minded even when he was woken up by a hungry mauvian who would rather someone else feed him than do it himself. Omen was still good, especially when a migrane hit, the mauvian understood and at times would let Lorcan known. It helped, a lot, for him to have Lorcan know and be able to check on him since he did get dehydrated rather quickly due to the vomiting which often accompanied his migranes.

When he felt another General getting close his head turned and stared for a moment, disbelief written across his features. "Wolframite..." The awe in his voice, and the comfort in seeing the small General, it was good to see him and know he'd be here with them all for this. It would be wrong for him not to be here, to be with his team, and to see what would become of everything and everyone. His dark hair, he'd gotten tired of the silver color recently and redyed it his natural color, dragged behind him as he went to the smaller General and reached out to lay a hand on his shoulder. "It's a relief to see you, it's been some time." Staring up at the sky, watching as a peek of something white and scaled could be seen for a moment, he shook his head slowly before turning his gaze back to the other.

"I hope when this is over Order doesn't come for us. Chances are this will weaken our forces." Even if it meant Order would be weak as well, he still didn't trust them. "They have too many royals, I dislike the feeling they bring with them." This all left a bad feeling in his stomach, a twisting, being around so much order as well as this beast in the sky above. He could only hope order was too tired, and too incompetent, to turn on them when all was said and done tonight.

Eternal Sailor Alastor
Mauvian Lucien is standing on Alastor’s shoulders; he is standing by Solaris and Sessrumnir, near Oberon, Valhalla, and Ganymede; talking to Urania

The corner of Alastor’s lip had twitched when Solaris suggested they have a little fun, and he’d muttered a soft, amused, “Hush,” at Lucien, even as he nodded along with the suggestion to keep the spike under wraps. He was trying not to think about this as exciting! Even if Ganymede had also called them out on it.

He was confident. Or, too insane to realize it. He smiled briefly at her, choosing to have faith in the former.

Valhalla and Oberon both had practical analysis of the situation; he didn’t want to beat it too easily but he didn’t want to see any casualties, either. Well–it would have been fine if the Negaverse lost their numbers. They had too many General Kings out here anyway. But, he didn’t want his son or any of his friends to witness a massacre.

When the winds picked up and Sessrumnir maneuvered Solaris between them, he understood. He almost wanted to pull Lucien off of his shoulders and hold him in his arms to guarantee he wouldn’t fly away, but those nails were dug in pretty deep. Lucien was strong. Alastor was, too. He snorted when Solaris suggested his sleeves might carry him away.

Besides, he needed to snag the bag that appeared in front of him.

Alastor had made a little, disdainful expression when he received the bag from Almadel, who he still didn’t forgive and wanted to have strong words with when it came to his pilfering of Sessrumnir.

A pin that didn’t match his outfit, a berry he found himself wanting to eat–but glanced at Sessrumnir contemplatively, and then Ephesus, and decided he didn’t need to taste it. And, a bracelet. He put the pin and bracelet on without much enthusiasm, and only because Sessrumnir had done so already.

At least Urania’s presence was enough to put him in a better mood. He raised a hand to greet her, and in doing so managed not to knock Lucien off his shoulders. “Urania, glad you’re here.” Would have been more enjoyable if he got to see her under better conditions but maybe when this was all over.

Rainier, Squire of Mercury

“Even in the darkest moments, your enthusiasm shines brightly.” Rainier chuckled, her head shaking in disbelief at how Surtur carried himself with such optimism. “I hope we do succeed so you can be there with him. And perhaps I might be able to ask for a tour of your world.” she suggested as a smile tugged the corner of her lips.

Recently she had been to another senshi’s world, Asmodeus’. If it wasn’t that the animations were programmed for defense mode she might have found it more fascinating. But when the two teams reached the final chambers and the large mechanical golem-looking robot had been deactivated, she was able to appreciate the structure of the world and how it responded to its senshi.

“Not for any items,” she quickly added in case he thought she was hoping for gifts. “I have a mountain, you have a world. So far I’ve only had the opportunity to visit two,” the other one being Beira’s.

Before she could go into depth on what she’d seen in terms of other worlds and wonders someone nearby called his name. The confusion on her face was impossible to hide as a senshi in fibrant sunset-colored clothes and vivid green hair approached. However, that wasn’t what had her feeling puzzled; it was his ashen grey skin and horns atop his head. He looked… like a half-youma but his aura was clearly similar to White Moon Senshi if not the same.

The familiarity between did not go unnoticed and when the senshi greeted her with a nod, she returned the gesture. Helene,” she repeated, just as she would when meeting anyone else for the first time. A way to memorize names more easily.

She paused, however, before offering an answer to his request.

Rainier's gaze then slid over to Surtur and in them was a silent request. Her head tilted near imperceptibly to the side indicating her reluctance to move for reasons she knew he'd understand. “I’m sorry…” she turned her attention back to Helene. “We are expecting one more to join us. Once he arrives we can help you find your group.” But until then she wanted to give Beira the most time possible to find them before relocating somewhere else.

Half-youma General Lavendulan and Personal Youma - Tallulah

“I thought you might feel that way,” Lavendulan said evenly, adjusting Wolframite’s collar where she had placed the pin. “But I’d rather him have a chance to take root before being tested by fire, or lightning in this case.”

She leaned in, her horn brushing against his in a quiet show of affection. The warmth of his presence steadied her. Even Tallulah seemed to draw closer and calm in his shadow.

“I’m not used to this,” she admitted, voice low. “Being responsible for someone else’s safety- It’s daunting. But I want to do it right. Maybe one day… I’ll be able to lead a proper team of my own. Like you…”

Her gaze drifted toward the sky. “I know I’m walking in at a disadvantage. My magic won’t be reliable in this fight. Turning into water in a lightning storm doesn’t seem wise.” Carefully she borrowed weapon with a rusted blade. “That’s why General Stichtite offered me one of his blades.” She inclined her head toward the other General with gratitude. “If I can’t protect my Lieutenant and Staurolite safe with magic, I’ll fight with this. But between the two of them, I feel that his-” she nodded to the Captain beside her, “crossbow will be more useful than Okenite’s briefcase.”

Lavendulan brushed her lips against the back of his knuckles before stepping away so that Miyamoto could have a conversation with him without her being in the way.

Corvina, Super DSS of Windflowers

Action: with Lanting, Karakorum, and Dunnottar. Being grumpy.

“Dunnottar,” Corvina greeted the other Knight, slightly muffled by the bag caught in his teeth and mildly resentful of the fact that he felt grateful to see Dunnottar, but……well. Karakorum wasn’t holding herself to a high standard, and if you could say nothing else about Dunnottar, it was that he actually understood the proper sort of decorum expected of a Knight. Of a warrior. Corvina didn’t enjoy saying such things (even only in the confines of his own head) because he didn’t enjoy being anything remotely adjacent to nice with Dunnottar, but………ugh.

Dunnottar did deserve the praise.

Once he dropped his little pouch into Lanting’s hands, though, Corvina could speak more clearly. He looked to Dunnottar with a grim, serious expression, but one that was, miraculously, free of any annoyance with Dunnottar specifically.

“Lanting is right about ignoring Karakorum,” he went on. “She is better than she is behaving tonight.…… Better than she has been behaving for the past few weeks since her birthday, when she started this hot girl era nonsense. Do not indulge her; you don’t owe her that. And……” Corvina made a throaty noise, briefly pausing to consider what he wanted to do. On the one hand, apologies were demeaning. On the other hand, it wasn’t his behavior being apologized for, so…… “Apologies for her uncalled for attempted sexual solicitation of you. Normally, she is also better than that.”

The pressure in the air was crushing. It felt like sinking to the bottom of the ocean. In that brief second, it gave the sensation of dizziness, of headaches, of ears popping, of full-body aching. Lightning stretched down from the sky and a sizzling tickle crawled over their skins.

Or, maybe that was just the overwhelming energy signature of Queen Laurelite, who arrived with a smug smile on her face. She needed no introduction.

They were all gathered to save Earth; she wouldn’t send the Negaverse into war without her support.

The first lightning strike was the worst, maybe because it was the first concrete sign that this was it.

There was no backing out.

The second strike followed a fraction of a second later, and the third almost simultaneously. They struck all across the field with such ferocity that the fabric of reality tore open in front of them.

The winds surged behind them, and who didn’t walk was shoved in.

The sensation of traveling from Destiny City to this distant domain was not unlike teleportation, but it was entirely more uncomfortable. It felt like the air was sucked from their lungs, like they passed through fire and ice and were turned upside down and inside out and then made right just before they landed.

This was not the prison of the Calamitous Hollow.

This was a realm of empty space, the betwixt and between of one universe and the next.

The Calamitous Hollow cannot be seen but it can be felt. They have arrived within the storm. A strange, solid stone makes up the ground below them, but if they were to look for long enough, they could almost see through it. It appeared as if it were some illusion losing the magic which concealed it.

Dark storm clouds were below them, around them, above them. The lightning flashed with such fierceness that there was never a second without light. There was no wind here, but the distant skies churned, as if they were in the eye of the storm and the storm wrapped all around them.

Between the running clouds and the violent flashes of light, the Calamitous Hollow made an appearance.

Or, at least, a part of it did. It slithered through the sky, hiding between a thick wall of clouds, and moved so fast that it took several seconds before the clouds even reacted. A single scale might have been the size of a school bus.

A single scale.

Hopelessness descends like the falling skies of Destiny City. A painful, biting reality.

This was a fight between ants and a god.

But not all hope was lost. They had not come unprepared.

Recovered from the Calamitous Hollow’s prison, the spikes were the first tool they had available to them. If they had been tucked away into subspace, they were practically clawing to get out. And, when they were, they were shining brightly–like beacons of hope in an otherwise endless field of despair. And, more than that, their wielders could feel their guidance. A pale path illuminated beneath their feet, and each wielder had a different path.

The spikes seem so infinitely small compared to the Calamitous Hollow–but you have to try. Everyone has a part to play if they want to succeed. Now is not the time to lose hope.

Quote:
Each of the five spikes recovered are now glowing brightly; they burn impossibly hot. Strangely, it doesn’t hurt, but it’s enough to push you to get it where it needs to be–fast. Once equipped, the spikes will pull them aggressively, each with a different location in mind. Players who uncovered a spike should check their quotes below to determine where they need to go. Once you arrive at this destination, you will feel a distinct urge to stab the spike into the ‘ground’ with all the force you can muster.

If your character has a spike and you are unable to participate in this round, please contact Xigglet on Discord immediately, or PM The Space Cauldron.

If you missed the previous prompt, you can still join but you cannot roll for additional items in Almadel’s giftbags. If you rolled a five or below (Jasper, Amoris, Okenite, Celadon, Nagyagite, Hybris, Ganymede, Strengite), your character received a strange item; please check the quote wall below to determine what that is! If you rolled a 95 or above (Chariklo, Illyria, Selenga, Neryn, Constantinople, Weissite, Abzu, Valhalla, Orcus, Benitoite, Chrysocolla, Narcissus), your character is now also in the possession of a dusky red gemstone; this stone is oval shaped and palm-sized, and while you do not immediately know what it is for, something about it reassures you that you will know what to do with it when the time comes. OOCly more information about these items and Almadel’s other items will be provided in the future!

Eternal Murikabushi of Hunger
Location: E5.
Action: Feeling the pull of the spike. Telling his group (Aruna, Daedalus, Elsa, Tempesti, and Harmonia) about it and his intent to run where he’s being compelled.

When Murikabushi opened his eyes again, on the other side of a massive amount of pain that he didn’t want to think about or properly let himself experience, he was somewhere he never could have expected. Besides the weird feeling in the air, the staggering feeling of a new Chaotic aura caught his attention, one like Murikabushi had never personally encountered before. Overwhelming in the extreme, it drew his eye to the green-haired diva with the scythe who was serving Nega-c**t on a monumental scale—but Murikabushi couldn’t pay attention to her very long. Not with the violent flashes in the storm clouds above them and how they felt so distinctly foreboding.

Not with the spike he’d been entrusted so demanding his attention.

He only delayed in producing it from his subspace because he had to search for the group he’d been with. “Elsa? Daedalus?” Looking around, he spotted the two of them nearby, then also picked out—“Aruna. Tempesti. And, uh.” He smiled apologetically at the blue-and-pink haired girlie who’d been the last to join them (Harmonia). “I’m sorry that I didn’t catch your name,” Murikabushi told her earnestly, hands curling tight around the spike. It burned without hurting him, urging him to get a move on and pointing him in a specific direction. And he would move. He had to. But running off without telling the rest of them anything—he couldn’t do that. “And I’m sorry to cut out so soon, sorry to all of you.… I don’t think I have to go far, but……”

Murikabushi turned in the direction that it felt like the spike was calling him to go, then pointed off that way. “The spike—it’s supposed to help imprison that enormous, world-eating beast up in the clouds. And it wants me to take it over that way. I’m not going to tell any of you what you should or shouldn’t do. You all know yourselves and your magic best. I trust you all to know your abilities and your capabilities better than I ever could.”

Murikabushi heaved a sigh. “I just know that I need to get over there, and I need to get this stake in the ground. Eight billion people’s lives are at risk if I ******** this up.”

Emain Ablach, Knight of Earth
Location: moving to C3
Action: moving out of the throngs of people and setting up his shield, motioning for Nectaris, Cryolite, and his husbands to follow him

As he regained his footing–and the control over his stomach that had threatened to leave him entirely–Emain Ablach felt that nausea rise in his throat again as he saw the size of the scales that flashed above them in the clouds. Just moving to this strange realm had turned him inside out and sideways; he was not keen on battle with the snake on top of it. But they hadn't been left with much of a choice. He did know that if the snake struck, it was probably for the best that they not all be huddled together as one mass target.

He pushed himself from the throngs and moved to a spot that was less populated, but not so far away that he couldn't get back should being by himself attract the snake his way. He gestured for the others to follow, keeping a wary eye on the city-sized snake over their heads. The corrupt senshi with them–the boyfriend he assumed Nectaris had been talking about–got the same invitation as the others, though not without a doubletake.

Emain Ablach was going to have to have a heart-to-heart with her if they survived this.

Until then, he would have to try to keep his wits about him, even as Queen Laurelite made herself known. There was no way she knew Emain Ablach from a hole in the ground, much less that he'd once been a captain, and he doubted she'd care at this point, but it still made his stomach drop to the ground to know she, too, was there.

Imhotep, squire of Mercury, and Amoris, page of the Moon
Location: moving to C3
Action: following Emain Ablach, talking with Promethei and Imhotep

Amoris wasn't sure what to do with the giant leopard print bead that had been in the bag with the other items, or with the movie ticket stub except perhaps to compliment Almadel's taste in movies. But they'd at least been able to find Emain Ablach thanks to Promethei's sharp eye and Nectaris' brightly pink outfit. It was a colour Amoris' uniform shared, and Amoris hoped that maybe that would have enabled Emain Ablach and Nectaris to find them in turn, but it wouldn't matter.

At least, until they'd been swept away to this new dimension. The headache was still drumming between Amoris' temples, and he winced at a flash of lightning that seemed much too bright, even for its proximity. The bodyache wasn't helping, either, and he found himself longing for a warm blanket and hot tea in front of the television, the others snuggled in around him. But this demanded his full attention, and he reluctantly pulled himself away from the imaginings of a lazy Saturday afternoon. The bead and ticket stub went back into the bag, and he checked that the pin and bracelet were secure on his person.

"You should probably wear them, too," Amoris suggested, pitching his voice loud enough to be heard over the wind and the noise of the other people there. "They can't hurt, right?"

"I guess not." Imhotep stopped considering his weapon at length to also make sure his items weren't going to go anywhere. When he saw Emain Ablach moving, though, he gestured in that direction. "We should probably follow him. Just in case." He was loathe to remain separated.

Commodore Lyndin
Location: Moving to F3
Action: Lyndin is addressing the nearby Vanguardians and asking them to cover him while he sets up a device

Lyndin did not fight the pull when one universe split into another, and when it brought them to some undetermined, between state. If the intention was to spare Earth, better to take the fight as far away from it as possible.

Even if that meant entering the domain of the Calamitous Hollow.

The space was expansive and seemed to stretch further than what they could see. The expression on Lyndin’s face seemed to indicate that the immense size of the creature was expected. But then, he had a very good poker face, too.

If you split up, stay in contact. Don’t go anywhere alone. You’ve all had training. I trust your judgment. I need to set up a device, the one we've been collecting energy for. It will help us. All of us.” He paused, and then added, “No unexpected twists from me this time. It will take me a moment to set up, I need you to cover me.

They would have time to decide, but Lyndin didn’t have time not to move. He spoke, and then he set off for a clear space on the field.

Basiluzzo, transcended Knight of Uranus
Location: E4
Action: staying where he is for the moment to regain his bearings

His hood being down did nothing to save him from being pulled into the holes that seemed to open in the fabric of reality. He was very nearly sick into his cloak by the time they all landed on the other side, and Basiluzzo was reluctant to stand back up when that landing deposited him on his a**. He groaned, slapping his hand around for Encke, head pounding like a drum between the sudden transport and the flashes of lightning that struck unceasingly. Given the darkness surrounding them, Encke's glowing uniform should have been easy to find, but the lightning made sure that the impenetrable darkness, well, wasn't.

He reluctantly dragged himself to his feet, leaning on his staff. With eyes opened to slits against the lightning flashes, Basiluzzo was able to spot Encke a scant couple feet away and join him. "Did you make it through okay?" Now that he was up and moving, he was aware that it felt like he'd been hit by a bus. That was not making him any more inclined to just wait around for something to happen.

Oh, but it was big. Bigger than Basiluzzo could have ever imagined. Looking up and seeing a flash of just one of those scales made colour drain from Basiluzzo's face. He cleared his throat and shook his head, trying to shake himself out of it.

"We need to act now. Before it gets the jump on us." But what could they even offer against a city-sized serpent?
