Amu continued nibbling her toast as Ikuto commented about dinner. She wasn't sure what she wanted to have-- "common or delectable" in his words. As she was deciding, someone began knocking on the front door. Ikuto went to answer it, and Amu decided to stay in the kitchen. She secretly wished Utau good luck and watched from the counter.
Utau sounded normal when she greeted Ikuto, but something fell and nearly freaked Utau out. Amu craned her neck to see what it was.
'A CD... I hope it's alright,' she thought a little worriedly for her friend. Utau's tone changed after she dropped the CD, and it was easy to hear the nerves in her voice. Amu smiled when Utau apologized and said that she'd support her brother.
'That's the spirit,' she thought. Utau tried to quickly leave, but Ikuto didn't let her leave so easily. Amu waited as the siblings talked outside. She heard Ikuto say something about girlfriend. Then...
Utau burst back inside, eyes wide and looking for an answer from Amu. Amu said shyly,
"Well, I, uh, confessed last night, and he asked me to dinner today, s-so..." before Utau approached her and said in excitement,
"You did it.... Amu-chan, there's hope for him, afterall~!!" Utau leaped onto her for a hug, almost choking her in the process.
"U-utau..." Amu gasped. Utau sobered up and loosed her grip, adding,
""I'm happy for you! Take care of him until I come back from touring. I'll call you later tonight for details! I don't want you to be late for class, okay?" Amu nodded and smiled before saying,
"Okay, I hope you have a safe trip!"
Utau and Ikuto exchanged a few more words before everyone got ready to leave. It was 7:55 am. Amu hadn't wanted to leave so late, but this was important and Amu was always happy to see Utau. Amu ate the last few bites of her toast, grabbed her purse and backpack, and went outside to join Ikuto and Utau. Utau went to her car and separated from them. Ikuto commented about going to class and began walking away.
"Have a good day, Ikuto!" she called out to him before jogging away.
. . . .
Her class was farther than his, and a normal person wouldn't make it to the building in time. Of course, Amu wasn't a normal person. Ran, Miki, and Su floated by Amu as she trotted down the now-busy sidewalk leading to Seiyo University.
"Let's speed this up, Ran," she said, and Ran obliged.
"Character change~" Ran cheered, changing Amu's cross hairpins to hearts. Amu immediately got a burst of strength to sprint to the rest of her class. When she arrived at the building, it was 7:58 according to her cell phone.
"Perfect," she smirked before slowing down and casually walking into the building toward her classroom. A few people who had been looking gaped in awe as she wasn't even slightly out of breath. The charas decided to take their leave, wanting to explore the college while Amu was in class. Amu was fine with that and went into her class alone. She hoped that Introduction to Chemistry would be somewhat interesting.
'I hope Ikuto made it on time,' she thought as she took a desk on the second row.
