Part Two Begins Here

IC Date: 08/28/2025

On a warm summer evening as the day winds down and the rhythms of the city slow, individuals on the side of Order feel an unfamiliar pull, a call for aid from the rocky expanse between Jupiter and Mars. With a whisper of intention, a willingness to lend their skill, they find themselves transported to a hilltop square before a palace of pale stone. In the center of the area stands a large shrine in smooth white stone. A pair of large, carved, feathered wings curve outward from the altar’s mensa which bears three large crystals which emit a warm light from within. Creeping vines bearing large, fragile-looking crimson flowers climb stubbornly up the shrine’s base, but the most unusual presence around the shrine is the kaleidoscopic array of insects resembling butterflies which flutter lazily about the square. Each is roughly the size of large human hand, with softly glowing wings resembling stained glass. An ancient city sprawls outward from this high vantage point, bordered on one side by an alien sea which crashes against its shoreline and carved into pieces by countless canals and bridges.

Returning attention to the palace, characters can see clusters of soaring turrets which draw the eye skyward, each adorned with tall, narrow pointed arch windows. Though many of the windows stand starkly empty, many more boast floral and other botanical imagery rendered in meticulously crafted stained glass which almost seems to glow with its own soft light. The tops of the windows bear intricate tracery reminiscent of leaves or tongues of flame. Stone vines and flowers wind around the columns at the base of the façade. A pair of enormous bronze doors stands open, ready to admit the first visitors to the palace in over a thousand years.

Diminutive before the mass of stone stands Sailor Tempesti, senshi of harpies. She greets the group with a shy smile and a wave before hurrying toward them. “Thank you so much for coming, you have no idea how much I appreciate the help.” The burns, cuts, and bruises she’d sustained after attempting this final ascent by herself the evening before drive the reason for her gratitude home. “If we’ve never met, I’m Sailor Tempesti and this,” She gestures broadly to the cityscape below the hill on which the palace stood, “Is the city of Keraunos. From what I’ve learned,”

Or remembered. Or both. Sometimes it was difficult to distinguish the two.

It was the capital of the Tempestine Empire a long time ago. I’m, er, still not entirely certain how long beyond the fact that it was before the fall of the Silver Millennium.” She shrugs absentmindedly as she speaks, “And this,” the senshi gestures now at the palace behind her, “Was where the rulers…ruled. The palace isn’t why we’re here though, what I need help with is that tower in the middle.” She grimaces slightly at the all too fresh memories of her misadventures with the tower’s traps and guardians. “The shrines in that tower are the key to helping Tempesti recover. I’m not really completely sure how it works, but from what I can tell these shrines use the planet’s energy to make the environment…better, or stronger. I’ve activated the bottom four, so we don’t have to touch those, but the most powerful one is at the top and well, I can’t get to it alone. Believe me, I’ve tried. It’s…dangerous, so I’ll understand if you don’t want to go up there.”

Quote:
Sailor Tempesti is an earnest young senshi seeking help to reactivate the shrines that channel the planet’s energy to stabilize its ecosystems. The mission, should you choose to accept it, is to fight your way to the top of the Primordial Tower and help Tempesti awaken the final and most powerful shrine.

This ORP will consist of three separate segments: this introductory thread, a thread in which characters work their way up the ramp, and a final thread taking place at the top of the tower.

This thread will be open for three days with updates posted roughly every 24 hours, depending upon interaction. I will update subsequent threads every 48 hours. Characters are welcome to begin participation at any stage of the ORP, but IC will have arrived during the introductory thread.

Note: If at any point during the RP you have difficulties reading or seeing a text-based resource I’ve linked, please contact me on Gaia or Discord (mechahonkzilla) for a more accessible version.

Character Name: Sailor Bacchus
Action: Arriving and greeting Tempesti

Bacchus landed unsteadily in the anciently familiar city, glancing around at a planet that had clearly let itself go over the years and couldn’t help but take pride in the fact that he had aged better. The fact that it had countless signs of life peering through the cracks (in sharp contrast to the staggering laziness of his own homeworld), allowed him the tiniest bit of nostalgia. Tempesti had never exactly been his favorite place to visit, more for its remarkably dull leadership than any other factor, but somehow he suspected that he wouldn’t encounter anyone to enforce his lifelong banishment. It had been worth it, anyway. Not like they would have been able to do all that much if he came back before.

Giving a quick wave to Sailor Tempesti he sidled over to her. He wasn’t “late” late, it wasn’t as though he’d missed anything important. Hopefully. She didn’t look angry so he decided to take that as a good sign.

Character Name: Joyeuse Garde

Action: showing up

The unfortunate thing about goals is that you have to serve them. The unfortunate thing about hazy, unclear, potentially-impossible goals is that serving them often requires you to undertake a task without even knowing if it will in fact pay off. Thus, with some initial reluctance, Joy let herself feel compelled to be useful.

But also, Joy was feeling a certain tribalistic protectiveness towards those whom she had made even slight acquaintance with during her time as Joy, and so she was in some small way mollified to find herself helping Tempesti: one of the first people to ever spend time on the Garde besides herself, which gave her a kind of claim to Joy’s thinly-spread attention. She gave her, accordingly, a beaming smile of recognition.

To know, too, that what they were dealing with seemed in some way to dovetail with the suggestions made by Lyndin - well. There was a certain smug contentment in that: in the feeling that she was being karmically rewarded for the generous disposal of her time and efforts with something that might bear fruit for her.

The annoying wisp that had been following her around was a nervous-seeming presence, manifesting - as usual - a sort of jealousy when Joy reached a gentle, inquiring hand towards one of those beautiful butterflies, and attempting to get between her and it.

Character Name: Blarney
Action: Showing up, asking eight zillion questions

Blarney had never quite felt that particular kind of tug before - it wasn't quite a radar blip (good or bad). It wasn't the same as the tug that brought him to Blarney, but it was in the same neighborhood, and he followed that feeling, and it led him to--

Holy snap. Was this a whole new planet? Blarney's mouth dropped open as he took in his surroundings, the hill, the palace - man, Blarney was barely a castle and this place had a palace? - the everything--

The Joy. The Joy? The Joy!!

"You're here!" Blarney said, hurrying over to his fellow Earth Knight. He was just about to ask where 'here' actually was, but then a Senshi started speaking, and some gears began to turn. Oh. So this was magic-magic, that had brought him here. He'd never been to another planet except Aruna, and this...was not Aruna. Not by a longshot.

Blarney raised his hand, waiting for the Senshi - Tempesti, apparently - to spot him before he spoke. "Hi! I'm Blarney, Page of Earth, it's nice to meet you, awesome planet. Um, how did you--how does the actual activating work? I mean, on the ones you got going on the bottom level? And also, what kind of dangers are we talking here?" Blarney wasn't afraid of danger, per se, but it would be nice to know exactly what he was walking into.

Character Name: Basic Senshi Kua'kua of Hellebore
Action: Showing up, admiring/talking to the butterflies

Kua'kua had not been on Earth for very long, and she was already more than a little disgusted by it. It was loud, dirty, full of terrible people, there were monsters lurking around every corner, and the people who lived on this planet took terrible care of it.

She did not currently have a place to live, which meant she was mostly hanging out in the park, because it was the only green thing for miles, probably. And she liked the little animals that lived there, except for when the squirrels tried to nibble on her fingertips. Her fingertips were not acorns, and she had tried to explain this fact to them, but they did not seem to care. She wasn't sure if they could actually understand her when she spoke - either in English or Kuanian - but she had to make a good-faith attempt to communicate before she punted them out of her nest in her tree.

But now Kua'kua was not in her nest in her tree. She was on another planet, and for a breathless second, she thought she was waking up on Kua'kua, that it really all had been a terrible nightmare, that her people weren't--

Then she noticed the palace. It was not Kuanian in the least, and that meant that it was not a nightmare. Her people were all dead, and she was...somewhere else.

Tempesti, evidently. There was another Senshi speaking, thanking them for coming; Kua'kua decided not to tell her that she hadn't so much chosen to come here as she had just...come here. Kua'kua was still listening, but movement caught her eye - butterflies.

Kua'kua almost wanted to cry. There were butterflies on Earth, of course, but these - these made her ache for home. She reached for them, utterly ignoring the wisp (and the Knight to whom it probably belonged), in favor of allowing one of the butterflies to perch on her fingertips.

"Hello, little cousin," Kua'kua whispered. "Don't worry. We're here to help."

Character Name: Eternal Sailor Athene
Action: Arriving

Arian had only been back in Destiny City for a few days and was trying to recalibrate and adjust to the five hour time lag from the UK when the call filtered into his consciousness, quiet but insistent.

There was something very “Destiny City about it all”, bringing back memories of his high school days–

Although mayhaps it had more to do with the setting given that he’d been temporarily staying in his old room in his cousin’s apartment.

Still Arian didn’t have it in him to ignore the call for help–

Because he generally tried to help where he could.

It was Athene that he found himself in what appeared to be some sort of ancient city, green-flecked grey eyes glancing around the unfamiliar landscape with a quiet curiosity.

------

Character Name: Super Sailor Chibi Oort
Action: Arriving, waving at Tempesti

Briar had been sitting under the old secret meeting tree, lazily eating cookies whilst trying very hard not to think about the fact that in a couple of days he’d be on a plane back to Dublin, although unlike past trips both of his parents would be coming with him.

Although it wasn’t particularly surprising given that the trip back was for his conferring ceremony and his mother had made her expectations crystal clear–

She wanted the full spectacle of him in a graduation gown and a mortarboard hat and was expecting photos to mark the moment.

The call had been a distraction, although whether it would prove welcome or not was still uncertain.

He had accepted it anyway.

Which is how he had found himself, as Oort, in some sort of ancient city, amongst a small group of unfamiliar faces, half-eaten cookie still in hand.

Well make that mostly unfamiliar. He recognised the red-haired senshi that had helped him with the banshee-screeching avian during this year’s StarFest
(Tempesti).

Oort gave her a lazy wave of acknowledgement, the half-eaten cookie still dangling between the fingers of his other hand.

Character Name: Cynthus, Squire of the Moon
Action: Standing with Poe and Paradise

“This is so embarrassing,” Cynthus muttered to herself.

She had her head turned to the side with a hand up by one temple, shielding part of her face from the two older knights beside her—a Page of Mercury and a Squire of Cosmos respectively—like keeping their presence out of her line of sight was enough to pretend as if neither were there.

Cynthus normally didn’t mind hanging out with her dad. He gave her whatever she wanted; how could she complain? But the magical girl stuff was different because he was, like, sixty (he was not; he’d be fifty-seven in two days) and also because he wasn’t a girl.

Not that it mattered. Cynthus hung out with plenty of magical boys. (If some happened to be more feminine than others, well… It took all sorts so save the world or whatever. Magical girls and femme boys and a few jocks, but definitely not the middle aged and elderly. They should be at home doing whatever people their age did. Posting unfunny memes and misinfo on Facebook, probably. Falling for online scams. Nevermind that Dad and Aunt Clai—Paradise were smarter than that.)

“You don’t even have a good weapon,” she whispered at her da—Poe without looking at him. “You’re going to get yourself hurt.”

Character Name: Super Grieve of The Collapse
Action: strollin & snackin ~

Sauntering toward the steadily growing collective of senshi and knights, Grieve slowly chewed a mouthful of something as she surveyed the remains of the city. Even a thousand years dead, Tempesti still looked like fare less of a shithole than her own world, even during its brief and heady primes. Tempesti herself was vaguely familiar from here and there, and she was talking dangerous. Which, hopefully, meant fights. Not some ********' riddles.

Sidling over to Joy, Grieve was about to speak despite her still rather full mouth when the extra small space senshi near her began talking to a butterfly and calling it kin.

Grieve froze, then turned her head and began to chew much, much more quickly.

Character Name: Sailor Tempesti
Action: Greeting newcomers and leading people into the palace
As familiar and unfamiliar faces appeared before her, the newly minted eternal senshi greeted each newcomer with a warm, grateful smile. She was both anxious about and touched by the fact that so many had answered her call. She recognized Joyeuse Garde’s elegant uniform and confident bearing, even if she’d been masked the last time they’d met. The knight’s desire to protect her identity during the bout of nasty weather that had defined so much of the past few months was entirely understandable, but being able to match a face to the name was a nice change. “It’s good to see you again, I hope the Hollow didn’t do your wonder too much harm.

Turning her attention to Blarney she replied, “It’s nice to meet you too, Blarney.” His question was, of course, a reasonable one. She had no desire to let them go in blind. “There are these…constructs who guard the tower. I got most of them to stand down before, but then I tried to get to the final shrine and they did not like that. Some of them are like…very tall humans, then there are these flying ones that look kind of like the teruda, the butterflies.” The senshi gestured toward the teruda. “There are also these little bee looking ones, I don’t think they can attack but they fix the others so unfortunately we need to disable them too.”

The sight of a deep space senshi (Kua’kua) seemingly enjoying the butterflies warmed her, as did the realization that despite the loss of her own world she was taking the time to help this planet heal. Tempesti only hoped that she would be able to help her in turn, someday.

She didn’t recognize the black-haired eternal senshi (Sailor Athene) and greeted him with a friendly wave before catching sight of Oort, mercifully unaccompanied by any killer poultry. She smilingly nodded in response to his wave. Not wanting to interrupt what looked like a bit of an intense conversation withing a small cluster of knights (Cynthus, Poe, and Paradise) she resolved to greet them properly once the opportunity arose.

As another young knight (Halle) explained his abilities, she made a mental note to do what she could to protect the younger among their ranks. His shielding abilities should hopefully keep him safe, and would no doubt be an asset in the battles to come. “Thank you for coming, I’m glad to hear that we’ve got some defensive abilities here.”

Tempesti didn’t know the name of the colorful deep space senshi (Grieve) but she was certain that she’d seen her before, even if she didn’t know her name. It would be difficult to mistake her for anybody else.

Shaking off her visible trepidation with a smile, Sailor Tempesti speaks, “If everyone’s ready, please follow me. It’s not far.” She hoped that they would find the prospect a short walk to be somewhat reassuring before the battles to come, or at least not too daunting.

“When we get to the Primordial Tower, that’s where we’re going by the way, when we get there, we will encounter some constructs. I’m not completely sure where they come from, but their only duty seems to be to protect these shrines. And they think we’re here to tamper with them so they won’t be friendly.” Tempesti unconsciously rubs a bruise on her arm.

As they pass through the doors of the palace, the visitors find themselves in a large entry chamber dominated by stained glass windows that occupy almost the entirety of the exterior walls. Though many of the window frames stand empty, the hues of light cast into the room hint at the riot of color that must have greeted ancient visitors to these halls. Slender columns soar upward from a debris-strewn mosaic floor to meet the delicately carved vaults of the ceiling. Crooked, tarnished candelabra line a central walkway, at the end of which stands an ornate, monumental door between two gracefully arcing staircases.

Character Name: Halle Knight of Lysithea
Action: Listening and introducing himself

The city of Keraunos was impressive, and lovely, even in its abandoned state. Similar to what he'd seen of Lysithea, there was clearly an emphasis on beauty. Though, he supposed that was probably to be expected in a seat of power. It'd be nice if he could get a chance to see more of the world and compare it with other towns and cities.

Other towns and cities. It struck him, not for the first or last time, that there were whole, massive worlds out there. And each with only a single senshi to tend them, unless they were royal, with knights to care for their odd, special corners with their code pieces.

It must be an overwhelming responsibility to carry on their shoulders. And a lonely one at that.

Then mention of danger had him nodding and moving closer to Tempesti. Seeing Blarney near Joy, he was about to raise his hand in a wave, but then the page was raising his hand and...proceeded to be himself. Good for him. And good luck Tempesti.

When there was a bit of a pause, Halle introduced himself, voice loud and carrying to be heard, and explained the most crucial information he had, "I'm Halle, my magic involves shields. I can also summon something similar to a battering ram if needed." Sorry Tulip, an unlovely word, but it's true.

Character Name: Sailor Monch of Popcorn!
Action: Scrambling to keep up, goggling at Bacchus

The feeling of being needed had Monch wired and excited and also feeling So. Much. Dread. So dreadcited it was! Thankfully saying yes to the distress took her some place where she was surrounded by senshi, knights, and not a single oogey chaos person. Monch was pretty sure, if she was suddenly near a bunch of those again, she'd still absolutely be puking her guts out just like earlier in the spring.

This felt a lot less extreme, and maybe she'd get a chance to cool and fighty like all the knights and senshi she'd seen after...well. Dying. It'd be so, so cool if she didn't die again. But even if she did, at least she got to see this amazing place? In space! A space place! She should visit her own...one day!

But for now! There were...dangers! And bees? People were suddenly moving and Monch realized that in her daze, she'd missed a lot of probably important information. As she moved quickly to catch up and get closer to the lady leading the charge, Monch turned into a fluffy of bouncing fluff, from skirts to hair to personality.

In a couple moments, she caught up to uh...oh what a weird looking person. Staring up at him for a rather rude amount of time, Monch greeted him brightly, "Oh wow! Your eyes look like they could like, totally curse someone! They're super beautiful!"

She had turned towards Blarney with an attempt to conceal her pre-emptive exhaustion, giving him a thin smile. Well, enthusiasm was probably a good thing to have at a time like this, and it was good that he was asking questions. Someone ought to ask them, after all. Just not her.

But she was quickly distracted from having to find something nice to say - and also from having to do more than acknowledge Halle with a little nod - by being approached by Grieve, and narrowed her eyes. She had a small dog with digestive problems. She knew that chewing, and responded to it instinctively.

"Ahn ahn! Drop it," she hissed sternly.

Character Name: Poe, Page of Mercury
Character Name: Paradise, Squire of Cosmos
Action: Poe and Paradise walking arm and arm (indulgent on Poe’s part), staying near Cynthus. Paradise addressing Tempesti’s injuries and reassuring her.

Poe gave his daughter a wary glance, a bit exasperated but there was also a hint of amusement. A small smile tugged at his lips as he tried to keep a straight face in the wake of her embarrassment.

“I’ve survived this long without a proper weapon,” he replied, lowering his voice so it didn’t carry. He gave the chess piece in his hand a little wiggle. “Besides, you’re forgetting it’s strategy that wins wars, not swords. Old guys like me are good for that,” he insisted.

Paradise, seemingly oblivious to the tone of embarrassment in her niece's voice, cheerfully looped an arm through Poe’s and leaned over to beam at Cynthus.

“Oh, nonsense! We’re not old, not in the least! Some of these Senshi have lived for a millennia. We’re practically teenagers by comparison!”

Poe gave Paradise a less amused, more exasperated glance, but indulgently let her hold onto his arm.

“I’ll be fine, Cynthus,” he said, softer, because he couldn’t resist reassuring her. “And I’m here because I want to be. You don’t think I’d let you do this without me, now that I know what you’re up to, do you?”

Not to mention how the world had recently almost ended, but that was another story.

As they continued forward, Poe let out a low whistle in observation of the stained-glass chamber. The chess piece in his hand felt unbelievably small compared to talk of “tower guardians,” but he carried it regardless.

“Constructs,” he let out a breath, more to himself than anyone else, before glancing towards Cynthus with a half smile. “See? It’s not my lack of weapon you should be worried about. These things sound like any weapon would be pretty useless."

Paradise kept her arm around Poe’s, similar in appearance even with the glamour masking their identities. Although she had yet to accept the whitening of her hair like Poe had.

Her own golden eyes shone with the colors from the stained glass light that spilled across the chamber. She was nearly vibrating with enthusiasm, taking everything in all at once. She adored watching over and taking care of her grandchildren, but sometimes it was nice to be able to experience her magical girl era.

She glanced over to Tempesti, but offered her a sunny smile.

“Oh, you poor thing. Look at those bruises. Don’t worry, dear. You won’t be alone anymore.” She gave a small nod, resolute in her own experience. “We’ll make sure no constructs get the better of you this time. We’ll make sure we stay hydrated too, and stop for snacks if needed,” she smiled before turning to Poe and Cynthus, even brighter.

“And just imagine the stories we’ll have when we’re done! Not everyone gets to say they climbed a primordial tower!”

Character Name: Reims, Knight of Ganymede
Action: Walking with Dering, being grumpy.

It wasn’t that Reims didn’t want to help. He was just wary about it. He and Dering had felt the summons, and with a heavy sigh (on his part at least) they answered. Now, he stood with his arms crossed as they listened to those around them, a sharp exhale escaping him, more irritation than awe.

Everyone always acted like things like this would be a walk in the park. Like it was just another day to hold hands and skip through flowers, punch a few Chaos beings, and go home. He supposed this was better than being stabbed in the gut, or dealing with a World Devouring Serpent, but the complete disregard most had for the potential cosmic dangers ahead… well, he was grateful Dering had a shield.

“She says it’s dangerous, and we just… go along with it?” he grumbled, his tone suspicious. “Feels like a trap waiting to happen.”

Still, he slightly shifted his weight toward Dering, as though proving his commitment to not walking away from this. And as they moved forward through the doors of the palace, Reims went as well. His arms were still crossed, expression still a scowl. He glanced briefly up toward the monumental door at the end of the hall, eyes narrowing at Tempesti’s explanation.

“Great, that sounds like a nightmare waiting to happen…” Giant human-things… flying ones… and a swarm of bees that patch them up…

“Tell me again why we don’t just let the constructs keep their shrines?” he leaned a little closer to Dering, voice lowering. “Seems like they’ve been doing a good job of it for centuries.” But he didn’t stop walking.

Out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of some others he recognized. Cynthus, looking uncomfortable and embarrassed. Good. It was good character development for her. And then there were Ephesus and Amarynthos. Reims felt his shoulders relax a little, because at least they had some backup if necessary. And it probably would be.

Character Name: Ephesus, Knight of the Moon
Action: Holding Amarynthos’s hand while admiring everything they’re seeing.

Ephesus’s hand found Amarynthos’s almost instinctively, fingers twining tightly as he stared up at the palace with wide eyes.

“It’s beautiful,” he whispered, awe and heavier emotions clear in his voice. Tempesti needed their help, so of course she would have it. He leaned closer against Amarynthos, not exactly because he was afraid, but because he knew he got overwhelmed easily and Amarynthos always knew how to keep him grounded.

They’d felt the pull while they’d been on their way to go to their own Wonders, but being able to help others was always exciting, even if it was dangerous. He was in good spirits at least, as evident in the faint glow his freckles were giving off.

Ephesus squeezed Amarynthos’s as they crossed into the chamber, reaching out with his free hand towards the beams of color filtering through the stained glass that remained. Even if it was not pristine, it still looked beautiful.

“Can you imagine what this must have looked like when it was whole?” he asked Amarynthos, a gentle wonder in his voice for a few moments, before returning his thoughts to the present.

They would help, of course. He was determined. Tempesti seemed busy, but he stood up a little taller. He was especially pleased to see that both Alastor and Sessrumnir had felt the summons as well, and he lifted a hand to wave to both of them, and Lucien.

Quote:
Powered Passive: When Ephesus is feeling hopeful and at peace, his freckles and hair will start to shimmer as if kissed by moonlight. This is subtle and does not offer enough light for Ephesus to see in the dark, but others may be able to see him. Those in close proximity to him while his passive ability is active may feel more at peace, or feel like it is safer for them to relax. If he is stressed or upset, the shimmering stops until he has calmed again.

Character Name: Sessrumnir, Knight of Jupiter
Character Name: Lucien - Cat Form
Action: With Alastor. Sessrumnir is observing their surroundings. Lucien is on Alastor’s shoulder, addressing Tempesti’s injuries.

Sessrumnir took in the sight of the palace with a thoughtful gaze, arms folded over his chest as he listened to both Tempesti and the others around her. The history, the shrines, the dangers… it all made sense in its own strange way.

He glanced over at Alastor, whose presence was grounding as always, and then at the large Mauvian perched on his shoulders. He caught sight of Ephesus and Amarynthos, although not surprised that they were there. They must have felt the call just as they had. He offered them both a small nod in acknowledgement, but kept his distance. Not because he didn’t want anything to do with them, but for their own safety, even amongst those who were their allies.

“Well,” he said at last, his lip twitching at the corner. “We’ve answered worse calls for help. If climbing a tower is what it takes, then climbing a tower it is,” he decided, his tone practical, but not without humor.

At least until some familiar bubbly laughter caught his attention. He cringed and he tried not to look, lest he got their attention.

He knew better than to fuss over his own mother -- when she had her mind set on something, she could rarely be talked out of it. Hopefully with Poe and Cynthus with her, she would stay safe.

Lucien’s tail flicked slowly as his teal eyes narrowed on Tempesti. The young senshi’s injuries had not escaped his notice.

“You attempted this alone,” he said, his voice carrying the weight of disapproval. “Foolhardy, but--...” he shifted slightly, one paw resting against Alastor’s shoulder for balance. “...--commendable that you survived long enough to seek aid.”

His sharp gaze softened just a fraction, although his posture remained poised and regal. “You will not attempt it alone again. That much, at least, we will see to.”

Once again, Lucien’s tail twitched as he sat on Alastor’s shoulders, a clear sign of his disapproval of Tempesti’s bruises.

“Very well,” he said, his tone even. “We are not here to destroy, but to heal. The constructs will not care for that distinction, but we will not allow them to cause more harm.”

He puffed up his chest some, his paw flexing on Alastor’s shoulder, confident in the thickness of his collar so that he would not cause him harm.

As they moved forward, he glanced across the length of the chamber, eyes lingering briefly on the tarnished candelabra and debris-covered mosaic floor before settling on the monumental door. Once again, he listened to Tempesti’s description, his brows furrowing slightly, but then exhaled slowly.

These constructs seemed like they would be the cause of a lot of problems, but they would just have to take things one step at a time. He glanced over to Alastor and gave him a small nod.

“Not exactly the plans we had for tonight,” he hummed, but he knew it was likely going to be more important for them to be there than just patrolling the city.

“Have you been to the cities on Alastor recently? I’m trying to determine if this will be a good practice run for any large buildings there.” Islands in the sky was one thing, but he hadn’t seen the cities of Alastor with his own eyes yet, but he knew they existed. The Hall was just always more accessible.
